Akio was interested to learn first hand from a digimon how their life cycle works. When it commented on how it was surprised that humans haven't come to learn how to do it he let out a slight chuckle. Humans can't do it because they aren't made of data like the digimon. One can gather the data again after it has been dispersed a lot easier than one can gather a soul.[break][break]
"Well thank you for your explanation Tawna. It was very helpful. I am sure we all have a much better idea of what happens now." Akio smiled at Tawna and gave it a nod.[break][break]
Akio turned to Haru next. "Yeah they do have a very interesting biology. Especially when comparing it to our own."[break][break]
Akio was quite happy with how the match results turned out. He had bet well this first round. Not only that but the matches were extraordinary. Watching the combatants was always educational. Watching these other tamers do battle with each other he could learn new card combos. Not only that but he could see combat tactics of those involved. There was always something to learn from them. While he watched the rounds he had finished up his popcorn and soda.[break][break]
"Yeah those battles were very intense. It was a little shocking to see them going that hard in a tournament setting like this. I am sure the Patamon and his tamer will be just fine." He turned to Tawna. "Yeah that Chuumon was a little weird. I am surprised he thought he could compete in this tournament with a partner like that."[break][break]
"I understand betting isn't for everyone. But its a nice way to spend the time as long as you don't go over board with spending your money on bets. Yeah it is always interesting to see the combos the tamers in these tournaments use." Akio paused "Well we are between rounds now. That was the first 8 matches of the first round. They need to come up with who is facing who in the next round so we don't know yet."[break][break]
During all of this Dracomon had ravaged the rest of his snack. Once he finished it he looked around for any scraps that he might have missed or dropped. Once he was satisfied that there wasn't any food left for him to eat he licked the juices and sauce off his hands and lips. He then curled up to watch the matches. Although they weren't the most interesting thing to him. So he slipped into a food coma during the fourth match and was still sleeping when they all finished.

"Eh, I'd hope so. That Daichi person is honestly kinda scary. I actually saw him once before, so I am a bit surprised he's in a tourney like this." Haru would comment about the guy who thrashed the tamer with the Patamon earlier. She wondered who he'd be up against then... maybe one of the faction leaders maybe? The guy with the Airdramon seemed super strong, while that Nightmare dude with the Kuwagamon looking pretty tough too. "So what were your favorite matches? I liked that dude with the Rocketmon. I know like Nightmare has a bit of a bad reputation, but its kinda cool I guess to see that they were all playing super fair all things considering." She'd attempt to start up a bit of small talk, curious as to what Obito and Akio's opinions were about the combatants and matchups. "The girl with the Palmon was cool too."

Haru Toriya Akio Higashi Obito saw as the next round began, keeping his thoughts to himself-- but then the mention and sight of him caused him to respond. His eyes went wide and his heart stopped for a brief moment. He lurched forward, knocking over one of the snacks and caused the others to respond to him. He seemed in shock at who he saw. Even Panthermon looked up, and reacted as well. "It's... It's him... that monster..." Obito gasped, seemingly frightened at the very sight of him. Panthermon went up to his feet and gave a cat-like growl in the direction with the man in the yellow jacket and sunglasses. It was unlikely that he could see them in the stands, but being near that man rubbed both Panthermon and Obito wrong. Obito soon stood up, rattled-- and probably alerted the others. "Why is that guy here?! He's that monster that attacked Panthermon and me. We barely escaped with our lives from that psycho!!"

"Yeah he was quite scary. Not only was he a terrifying tamer, but he is physically imposing. I wouldn't want to meet that guy in a dark ally some where. Even if there wasn't digimon in the world he would be frightening." There was something off about that guy. He was oddly terrifying. He hopes this is the only encounter he has with him. Then Obito had a little meltdown about the guy. Who could he be and why did he strike so much fear into everyone around him. Especially Obito.[break][break]
"Yeah the Airdramon fight was quite cool." Besides the Daichi fight the rest seemed underwhelming. He didn't have a lot to say on the matter. Mostly because after the Daichi fight he was just stunned by his fighting style. He just overwhelmed his opponent. [break][break]
"What do you mean he attacked you? He almost killed you?!" Akio said in shock. A tamer attacking others. How could they? And how did he not know about this. The busters were supposed to be supervising things like this. They were supposed to be the unofficial police for the tamers in this city. Maybe there was another gang in this city that they weren't aware of. Well maybe not the busters but that he didn't know about. Odd though there wasn't security clearance in the busters that he knew about. As far as he knew all the information was shared openly. Oh well he would figure this out more later.

"I didn't get to really see him before, but he definitely doesn't strike me as a nice person." Haru would comment, apparently Obito having had a run-in with him before. Well gee, that Daichi fellow sure seemed to love causing a ruckus huh? That was a person she hoped that she wouldn't have to see too often from now on. "Wonder why they are so aggro?""Literally as long as they keep away from Haru and I, I could care less what he does. Else I'll..." Tawna would calmly state before glancing towards Haru. "Question, which internal organs do humans require to live?""Uh... most of them I'm pretty sure. Can we try to avoid that though in the future?" The gogglehead-wearing girl would attempt to answer her partner's question, plus discourage that sort of thinking. Yeeeah, she kind wasn't aiming for anyone to die if she could avoid it... even a thug like that Daichi person didn't deserve disembowlment. "I guess though if he was put into this tournament, they must have known he was pretty strong."

Haru Toriya Akio Higashi Obito's news was good reason to be alarmed by Akio. "It... It was before I met you. I only had Panthermon for a few days... I was lucky to get out alive with Panthermon..." Obito soon commanded his body to stop trembling and he sat down. Even though upset, even Panthermon calmed himself and watched as the cruel tamer made it to the next round. It was upsetting for Obito to see him, but it was brief as the other contestants soon continued on. "Well... I do question why he was allowed in to begin with, but I can't say," Obito questioned and knitted his fingers together in thought. "I guess Tenno had his reasons." Speaking of them, Obito soon saw that Tenno rose further up the ranks. If Obito was a betting man, he would put his money on him. "Wow.. Tenno is something else, huh?" Obito said. He remembered the guy-- who had Panthermon registered due to his odd natured data. "What is the rookie digimon he has?" Though things moved on, Panthermon still watched the arena intently... especially on Daichi. Though he could sense the nervous nature of Obito's heart, this man was his goal-- to become stronger so such an incident would never happen again. In the back of the digimon's mind-- he wished to fight him again, so that they could even the score.

Wow! That girls partner is vicious. Trying to figure out how to kill a human if her partner is in trouble. Akio understands protecting ones partner but killing another human to do so. Especially since we don't have the same ability to regenerate upon our death like the digimon do. The digital world must truly be ruthless if that's the immediate thinking when presented with a threat.[break][break]
Akio listened to Obito as he spoke about Daichi. He didn't really go into any details. Akio wanted to know more but he could tell by his body language that this was a difficult topic for him. Understandable Akio would probably have a hard time talking about a time he nearly died as well. Daichi was clearly a strong tamer. It was probably why Tenno let him in. [break][break]
Obito changed the topic back to the tournament. That was understandable. He was asking about what partner Tenno had. How could he forget especially since it wasn't a rookie. He was one of the few tamers that he knew of that had a champion level for a partner. He might be the only one. It was impressive that his partner was able to maintain its champion form at all times.[break][break]
"His partner isn't a rookie level." Akio began explaining to Obito. "He has an Airdramon. It a champion level dragon digimon."

"Mister Tenno is the man with the Airdramon right? His opponent seemed kinda weak, but that doesn't discredit that he and his partner are probably super strong. Right?" Haru added in to the talk relating to Tenno, wanting to at least stray away from the subject about Daichi. She didn't know terribly much about any of the gangs, but she knew that Tenno was the leader of the Shinjuku Busters and was the host of this tourney. He HAD to have been in a position of power to be able to host something as big as this. "Regardless of what his partner's Rookie level, he must be very strong to hold it for so long. Indefinitely it appears." Tawna would calmly comment. Despite her rather quiet nature, it was clear that there was a hint of jealousy in her tone. Champion level was a very desirable power for any Digimon, and for someone whom always had been in the shadow of stronger Digimon... it was something she lusted for. "Haruuuu, can't we find some wild Digimon or something I can delete later? I want Champion level too." The canine would plead to the girl, actually adopting some puppy dog eyes. Of course given the rather bloodthirsty request, it's actual viability was rather ineffective. Haru's face scrunched up slightly, an unsure look on her face showing her general opinion of such an idea. She knew that Digimon could get stronger by absorbing other Digimon, but that didn't stop the fact that it seemed immoral to try and actively hunt for such power. "Tawna, ya know how I feel about you fighting. Only as a last resort." She'd politely tell the Rookie level, causing them to lower their head in disappointment. She turned her head to Obito and Akio, sighing slightly. "Do your partners bug you guys too about fighting things? Tawna doesn't go a day without asking at least once." She'd ask the two of them, trying to find at least some common ground if any.

Haru Toriya Akio Higashi Obito turned to the others in interest. While his 'money' was on Tenno for his skill and of course him being the Buster's it was a surprise of him to learn about him. "Wait a minute? His digimon never reverts back to rookie?" Obito asked, perplexed by the concept. "Digimon with tamers can only inable temporary evolution via their partners. How did he do it?" It was a fact that was right in front of them, but one Obito wanted to know more about it. Either Tenno had obtained his partner as a rookie, or he grew so strong rookie was never a form the Digimon would ever have to return to. There was still so much about Digimon he didn't know. At that time Haru asked them how their Digimon were regarding battles. Panthermon gave a rather upbeat growl in responce, as if it was a huff. Obito glared at him for a moment but turned back to Haru. "Well, Panthermon isn't afraid of battle, if that is what you mean. I mean he is willing to fight and loves the thrill of the battle," he explained, "But we work to avoid attacking and defeating Digimon that aren't a real danger, you know? Like I wouldn't want to delete a Digimon belonging to another tamer. Right, Panthermon?" Obito asked his partner. The cat gave a nod. "Agreed. I like to fight, but I avoid downloading data unless there is no other option," he said.

"Yeah, he has the Airdramon for a partner." Akio agreed with Haru's assertion of the situation. "But, yeah he and his partner should both be pretty powerful especially considering I have never seen his partner in any form besides Airdramon." He wondered how much Tenno had trained to have a partner like that. He wondered if he would ever have a partner who would hold just their champion form.[break][break]
There goes Haru partner again. Showing her true nature. It seems that there is quite the personality clash between the two of them. Haru seemed so sweet and innocent. Her comment about fighting as a last resort really clashed with that of her partner who wanted to just go out and hunt. He understood wanting to get stronger and absorbing data. But he didn't seek out fights.[break][break]
"No my partner doesn't really beg me for fights. We don't seek them out for fun. Sometimes we get contacted to go deal with rouge digimon. When we do have to fight though we like to get the data. It helps to get stronger if you absorb their data. Although we're no where near absorbing as much data as Tenno must have to maintain his champion like that."

While Tawna acknowledged Akio and Obito's sentiments towards wanting to avoid having their partners absorb the data of other Digimon if possible, she didn't agree that it was the best of tactics. They were too merciful in her eyes, and mercy is only available to the strong. "If a tamer's Digimon dares to attack me or Haru again, they will not be spared just because they are some human's pet. I will avoid starting fights for Haru's sake, but I have a line that even I must draw. For both her sake and my own."Haru appropriately enough didn't share her partner's willingness to just take life like this. She wasn't unwilling to fight if she had to... but she didn't want to do something that she could later regret. "I just don't want you to hurt anyone innocent. I appreciate that you want to protect me, but you do have a tendency to... overreact." She'd politely tell the Plotmon, wanting to make it clear that manner of thinking was dangerous. "If any of our Digimon kill someone, there's no way of just taking it back. Once a life is gone, that's it. It's why we have to be extra careful with what we all do." She'd rather solemnly state before shaking her head some as she gazed back at Obito and Akio. "Sorry if I'm getting a bit philosophical. We have a lot of responsibility as tamers, right? There's a whole lot that could go wrong if we are not careful... and well, that's honestly very scary." She'd state, trying to at least find something to relate to the pair of tamers. Just because they had Digimon didn't mean that they had to act differently from regular people. If anything, it meant they had to work even harder to make sure regular people don't get involved with the dangers from Digimon (both others and their own).

Akio Higashi Haru Toriya Obito smiled at Haru, in agreement with everything she said. "You're absolutely right. We have a responsibility to oversee and guide our Digimon responsibly. If not, we would be no better than some tamers who would use Digimon for their own personal gain," he said giving his Digimon a pat on the back as he sat there like a lazy cat. He was also interested that Akio and his Digimon were a bit more free-spirited. Personally, he wished that Akio had his partner around more. The dragon was a pleasant company for good cheer and merriment when he was around. Obito was thrilled that his own Digimon-- the one he dreamed since he was a kid-- was real and before his very eyes. But if he had to pick one that was from the series itself, it would be Dracomon. The Plotmon's words, however, caused a huff from Panthermon as he glared at the spunky interesting Digimon. "Heh... Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't mind downloading a digimon's data if there was no doubt they were an enemy. Still, I wouldn't if the enemy didn't know when enough was enough to back down," Panthermon said and stretched out his limbs with a cat like gesture. He arched his back and gave a 'yawn' to show his sharp teeth like a real jungle cat. "But if your so eager for a fight, I'd be happy to oblige, puppy." Obito turned and glared at his partner from behind his glasses. Obito knew that Panthermon had a thirst for combat that was rarely quenched, but still... Obito worried if this was the time or place. "Panthermon, that is hardly appropriate considering what was just said." he stated. Panthermon looked up to Obito with a soft growl. "A direct challenge is different from just attacking them," Panthermon said, and turned to both Haru and her Digimon. "Besides, they should consider this good training. If the little puppy is as tough as she clames, a friendly spar with another digimon would do her some good." The panther said with a growl to the Plotmon. "What do you say? Up for a friendly cat and dog fight?" The sultry sound of the cat's voice would have made the challenge almost seem flirtatious. The indication was clear-- Panthermon wanted to fight, and was willing to fight to a mutual consent so that no one would end up deleted, assuming Tawna agreed too. Obito shook his head. "I'm sorry... Panthermon has a bit of a competitive spirit. Had we had a chance, I'm sure he would of wanted to enter this tournament." he explained. "Still, if you want to do a friendly battle sometime, we should so we can both improve on our skills."

There they go again. That personality clash between Haru and her digimon. Even her digimon's feelings on what happens if they got attacked and the approriate response is varried drastically from what Haru felt. Akio could understand where Haru was coming from though at least in terms of people. He couldn't understand what someone would want to hurt another human being. He didn't have any of the same qualms about doing the same to a digimon. Especially since they would just regather in the digital world as an egg to begin their life again. The humans didn't have that same luxury. [break][break]
"I understand where you are coming from. As tamers we are almost like parents to our digital partners. Although it looks like some of us got an easier lot in this digital parenting." Akio commented to Haru's thought. He was sure glad that he and his partner saw eye to eye on most issues. They were on the same page for fighting the digimon who make there way in. Along with many other things. There were likely things they had clashed on in the five years they have been together. However anything they might have clashed on must have been small and ultimately insignificant.[break][break]
Interesting it seemed like Haru and Obito might have a friendly battle between their digimon. The battles in the tournament were going quite well. But they all must have been top tier tamers to get an invitation to be a part of the tournament. That may explain why there weren't too many regular tamers that were in the running. It might also explain why Tenno himself was participating in the tournament. Fascinating it seemed more like the fight was something that Panthermon was organizing and that the respective tamers were not as interested in the potential conflict.

If there was good thing all of the tamers here could agree for, it was that everyone here had no right to just slack off taking care of their Digimon. They had to make sure their Digimon didn't do something to endanger innocent people's lives (okay maybe that was more HER case, but still). Panthermon and Tawna did at least seem to have a mutual fondness for fighting, though Panthermon at least came off a bit more refined at least than Tawna usually was like. Hell, the way he asked for a sparring match sounded like flirting (she silently noting that she'd ship it)! While normally looking fairly uninterested in others or her surrounding, Tawna perked up at the feline's challenge. She was unable to recall the last time she was able to fight against something that seemed interesting, having been coddled by Haru for far too long in her own opinion. Before she was able to respond though, her tamer intervened. "Uh, look... I'm sorry Panthermon, but I gotta say that Tawna has a hard time knowing WHEN to actually hold back. I don't want to risk anyone getting hurt if things get too rowdy." She'd apologize to the Rookie level, much to Tawna's exasperation; the Plotmon starting to pout. Honestly, Haru felt she was at least in the right at the moment. How Tawna was like right now, there was no telling what could happen if things are allowed to just kinda happen. "I won't get stronger if I don't fight though Haru..."[/font The dog-like Digimon would whine slightly, earning her a sigh from the girl.
"I know, but us tamers aren't the only ones who need to take responsibility too. You have to learn to be more capable of controlling both your powers AND your temper Tawna." Once more the girl would stamp her metaphorical foot down. Who would have thought becoming a tamer more or less meant having to act like a responsible mother at times? Guess she'd be calling the kettle black then though, as she knew that she too was a bit of a scamp for her own mother.

While he never needed permissions before, it must of frustrated Tawna to be denied it-- but if she couldn't control herself, it was a fair point. Panthermon sat back down in his cat-like manner and let out a soft growl of disappointment. Obito reached over and patted Panthermon on his head and back like most cats would like, to soothe him. "I understand," he said and turned to Haru and Tawna, "But if you ever change your mind, let us know. I'm more than willing to take the risk and besides, Panthermon has skills to aid in survival situations if it goes too far. I doubt it would be anything that neither one of us will risk." "Besides, we will never become better if we don't step up and take a small risk. THat much I know," Obito added, looking to Panthermon. "Still, if it is anything like this tournament, we would be bound to follow rules that would prevent us from really hurting one another. If only there was a card that could support a fight without injury, you know?" As Obito mused that over with haru, he soon heard a change in the loud speaker-- was something happening regarding the tournament?
