Kaida could hear the sounds of the Nightmares running wild in the time of day that suited their interests best, nighttime, of course. Their Digimon seemed to be having a blast as well, if the childish or guttural voices that sometimes broke the monotone was any indication. If she narrowed her eyes, she could see shapes darting through the backs of buildings or alleyways, or an unfortunate soul who had lost the battle and received a beating as reward. She reasoned this was probably a little demonstration on those that stayed close to the Nightmare territory. Reasonable, but she digressed. She didn't participate, she had joined this little gang out of self-preservation, not to help in a silly mugging! A scream ripped through the air, carrying easily to the catwalk she perched on, and she stiffened for a few seconds before blowing out a puff of breath. No, she was fine up here. Suddenly, movement rippled through her jacket, as it something was trapped beneath her skin. The shape thrust upward and managed to breach under her bandana. A rare smile crossed her lips, the Serpentemon returning the favor before wrapping himself completely around her neck, head swaying from side to side as he gazed into the alleyways. " Something here." He suddenly mumbled, crimson eyes glaring straight down. Samantha jerked in response to Jorgie's words, important as they were, and leaned over the catwalk with an iron grip on the railings. Her head pricked up slightly, movement there was!A wall of hesitation struck her, should she strike? It was far from the Nightmare's true territory, no real reason except to ask to get hurt...unless they had a Digimon... Kaida glanced out of the corner of her eyes at Jorgie, coiled so loyally around her, " Need the data?" She whispered, and a predatory smirk exposed the Serpentemon's fangs, " Yes." That was it then. Kaida launched into motion, actually heading up the catwalk for a brief moment as Jorgie kept his eyes on the movement below, and grasped a pipe on the opposing end and slid down. Her hands hurt like hell, but it was worth it to be ahead of her prey, and she stalked to where they likely stood, her face set in grim determination should alert whoever her victim or victims were that she meant cruel business. If they don't have a Digimon, I'll just leave them alone, right? Right. Jorgie needs to get stronger, by any means necessary. Even if I don't kill it, I need that respect. I need it. Her mind continued to race as she got closer, but she kept her face in a scowl and growled when they came into view. She was quite a sight, adorned with a skull on the front of her jacket, serpent around her neck. @open

"Why do you do this to yourself Haru? Staying up so late... why bother?""Cause Tawna, believe it or not... humans don't get to just like live anywhere they want for free. We gotta get money yo. Once you get to a certain age, you kinda starting shackled down with shit like responsibut... responsibur... RESPONSIBILITIES. Responsibilities. Thats the word.""So if I ever evolve to a Champion level, will I get kicked out of you and your family's house?""Well... only if you get too big Tawna. At least you being all small makes it easy to hide you ~"This was the conversation between both a goggle-wearing dork and the white-furred dog-like Digimon that was sitting in her backpack as the girl walked alone. Without a single other soul seemingly up at this time of hour, their guards were for the most dropped at the moment... and the casualness of their conversation was dripping with a lack of care in the world. Sure they were walking in the shadier parts of Shinagawa, but it was still a much faster route then just cutting to the more busy parts of the district. It wasn't like muggings would be a problem when you had an attack dog just sitting in your backpack after all. Now if that mugging involved DIGIMON, that'd be a different story... but that was a rather pessimistic way of viewing things. Besides, Haru was far too sleepy from working to want to try and get into trouble at this hour. Priority was to get home first, then flop her face into a pillow.

Kaida gritted her teeth as two voices drifted off and bounced along the walls, practically raising a signal to all around them that they were in this area, and not paying attention to their surroundings. A grimace clouded over her face as Jorgie gave her a sympathetic look, what was the point of excess noise such as this? What did it accomplish other than fill in absolutely fine silence? Quite suddenly she didn't care about her victim as much as she should, in fact, she was actually excited! Her lips twitched back slightly, exposing her teeth, and her heart hammered almost painfully. She'd stop in front of the girl, eyes flickering over her a second. " You have one." She stated in a matter-factly. The girl would know what she meant, a Digimon in plain view on Kaida should already had announced what She wanted. She had heard two voices, it was too late to deny it, and Jorgie had raised himself so far he could just spot a patch of fur and hissed appreciatingly. Kaida rubbed her face and pulled up the bandana lazily, it was stupid but she understood the reasoning behind it. " Sorry." She mumbled loud enough to hear, leaning forward before her legs bended and she jumped forward, arm arching back to attempt to strike at the girl. Jorgie didn't uncoil from her shoulders, only undoing some of his wraps and hanging forward to hiss monstrously, it seemed the two were expectantly awaiting an attack. Haru Toriya

Haru would have seriously had kept walking were it not for a relatively feminine indivdual in darkish clothing and a scarf around their neck stopping in her path. The black-haired japanese girl's eyes lit up in mild confusion, unsure as to who this person was. Their one sentence before pulling up a bandana over their face only further confused her. "Uhh, hello?"It was only then did she realize that the scarf the bandana'd newcomer was wearing... was NOT a scarf by any means. Unfortunately for her, she didn't have any time to properly try and defend herself from their sudden attack on her. The girl could not help but lean awkwardly backwards, momentum doing the rest of the work as she falls straight onto her back. While her own back was cushioned for her pack, the occupant IN said backpack felt it pretty damn well. The Plotmon struggled to finally poke her body out of Haru's backpack, the petite-looking Rookie level attempting to stabilize their breath. It did not take long for her to quickly identify their attackers. She growled angrily at the unknown snake Digimon and their tamer, not at all pleased that they would dare lay a finger on Haru of all people. "Bastards!" She yelled with a guttural hatred in her tone, but before she could attempt to do anything else... she felt herself stuffed back into the backpack and lifted up. "Nope nope nope!" Was about all the girl could say as she scrambled to get herself back up, quickly sprinting into a mad dash to try and get away from the unknown tamer and their partner. She didn't know exactly WHAT their deal was, but she didn't want ANY of it. Fighting was not in the girl's blood unlike her partner. If she could avoid a fight, she'd DAMN well prefer to do so!

Well...that was...easy. Kaida looked down at her fist briefly, did she even hit the girl or did she take care of the falling part all by herself? Still, she continued on and tried to step forward until the dog-like Digimon snapped at her, and she prepared to fling Jorgie at the beast...but then her prey was running, it looked like the most difficult part was going to be catching this thing. Kaida fumbled with her Digivice as she started jogging forward, and Jorgie started folding his body on her shoulder as she took out a card and swiped. Instantly, feathery wings wreathed in flame materialized on Jorgie's back as he sprang off, flapping his newfound wings as he blazed after the girl, much faster than Kaida's run. He raced forward with mouth wide open, wings flapping frantically as he tried to grab the backpack. Haru Toriya

Haru tried her damndest to put as much distance between them and that chick with the snake. She wasn't no athlete, but she could at least damn well run when she needed to. For a brief moment, she was almost hopeful that they gave up chase. She turned her head for a moment... to see something zooming at her. And that, is what we call a snake with wings. And to a girl that had just a bit ago been minding her own business and forced to try and run away, that was a very terrifying sight. "Whyyyy!?! Why us!?" She futilely attempted to yell out to her aggressor as she struggled to try and keep herself on her feet. Tawna on the otherhand had a damn well good idea as to what they were after. Haru had told her time and time again that fighting wasn't need in this world... but who was she kidding? Survival of the fittest applied here too. A different plan of approach was needed, the small dog-like Digimon slipping out of her tamer's bag. Landing in a starting sprint, the Vaccine managed to slip right past the still aerial serpent Digimon before jumping back at them; attempting to throw a punch at it's underside with one of her paws.

A disinterested snort broke through Kaida's lips at the girl's naive yell, that yell pissed her off. What a damned Tamer! It was a wonder she didn't get attacked until now! The dog Digimon didn't matter right now, what mattered was Jorgie, and he needed to be strong, damn strong, and this creature had the means to give him that power. At the time being, Kaida stayed on the outskirts of the battle, but she was ready to swipe a card or rush in any time Jorgie needed her. At least the dog Digimon reacted quickly, she wouldn't feel too bad if it had at least tried to fight back, and fight back it was doing. The flying serpent didn't have enough time to both release the backpack and dodge an attack, and gasped out at the furry fist bit into his body. He beat his wings down and regained his altitude as his underbody ached. The wings would vanish soon, he needed to strike. He whirled in midair and swept his tail at the dog Digimon, aiming to bowl it over before his wings drained away. (Tiny Trash attack at enemy) Haru Toriya

Tawna was unfortunately not the most agile of Digimon, she rather effortlessly getting slammed by the speeding serpent as it tackled into her. Still, the Plotmon was not a complete pushover as she managed to quickly get back to her senses. It was very clear as to what this Digimon and tamer were trying to do, that attack not at all being held back. She growled viciously as she backed off slightly. Haru on the otherhand was still freaking out partially, still unsure why this fight started. It couldn't have been... they actually trying to kill Tawna... right? Digimon could kill and absorb other Digimon to grow stronger... but is murder really worth the payout? It was a bonechilling thought that coursed through her head, only re-affirming her desire to make sure no one here dies. "Hey can't we just talk this out?!" She'd yell out pleadingly, pulling out her Digivice to scan the enemy Digimon. Serpentemon. Rookie level. Virus Attribute. STILL not actually helpful information to her right now! She gritted her teeth as she scrambled to her deck of cards to pull something out. She didn't like it, but she refused to stay idle here. "I just want to make it very clear that you are giving us no choice here!" She'd yell at the tamer once more, slashing her Fifth Rush card. Tawna's front paws suddenly changed into sharp knife-like claws, and with a quick swipe-motion; attempted to embed them into the reptile's tube-like body.

Kaida hopped in place, eyes wide and glassy as she watched Jorgie slam the little dog Digimon, silently egging on the serpent to finish what he started. She turned her silent gaze toward the girl, and clicked her tongue in a make-shift hiss, " Give me a reason to talk." She spat, Digimon killed Digimon all the time and one day someone was going to show up and kill Jorgie, so unless there was an appropriate replacement, she was doing this! The attack with the claws was particularly effective, and a strangled yell escaped from Jorgie as his wings vanished, gash running down his sides and back, crackling data visible within. Kaida held the Digivice with white hands, ready to assist in any way she could. Jorgie whipped his body against the ground and pushed his head up, lashing out to Chomp the enemy's leg and restore his lost data. (Tiny Dark damage launched, tiny heal if it lands) Haru Toriya

This battle has been a mixture of both Digimon trading blow after blow with one another. While Tawna was able to shred into the Serpentemon with her now de-digitized claws, she was left open to a counter-attack as the snake took a deep bite in her leg. The dog-like Digimon yowls in pain (the attack being relatively effective on the Light affinity Rookie leve), attempting to pry out her attacker's maw from her limb. Haru couldn't help but feel bile in the back of her throat build up, honestly becoming more and more disgusted with this person's selfish desires. Partially because yes, she was the victim here... but also because it reminded her so much of how she used to be like. That feeling of taking advantage of others for her own gains. Things were different now though. She wasn't doing things just for herself after all. The goggle-wearing girl gave a defiant look to her fellow human. She had someone she HAD to protect, refusing to let them come to harm. "I'll give you a reason then! That's my friend you two are trying to hurt, and I cannot let you do that!" She'd yell with a fiery-look in her eye to match the same heated look her partner had, pulling out and swiping another card; this time being the Entrench card. Tawna's movements seemed to grow sluggish, though the Plotmon's body seemed to for a moment sheen like metal. While a bit slower than before and with less force, the Rookie level took another swing at the Virus Digimon with one of her paws.

Tawna's slowed motion while made her easily caught and entangled by the Serpentemon's attempt to constrict her, the Plotmon didn't seem to take terribly much damage from being squeezed. Far less than she probably would have taken if she were not under the effects of the card Haru swiped a moment earlier. Still, the strain of the fight was starting to show it's effects. Haru was starting to run out of options nonetheless. Swiping a Replenish card of her own to keep Tawna's strength up, she was realizing that they were starting to fight a losing fight. Cards were their main lifeline at the moment, and there were only so many of them she could scan. They just had to either dissuade these two from fighting, or find a spare moment to ditch them. Tawna continued to struggle fighting off her opponent, relying on simple blunt force to try and shake the serpent off. It was not particularly flashy, but it wasn't entirely ineffective.

In a way, both combatants were evenly matched. While both seemed to be suffering from a weakness to one of the other's primary methods of damage, Tawna however did not have the liberty of having an ability that could steal one's vitality. While still under the effects of Entrench, reducing the damage from what another Chomp... the Plotmon was starting to feel her strength wane. Haru was not ignorant to this either. This fight needed to be put into a draw, and quick. While it was a shrewd and frankly risky idea, perhaps she could buy Tawna enough time so that they could escape. "We're not risking this any longer! This fight is stopping right here!" She'd yell as she slashed a card of Puppy Howl. As much as Tawna would have wanted to finish this fight up, she understood that perhaps not all fights were ones that could be outright one. Her encounter with the Boarmon that had nearly deleted her long ago was a shining example of that. With a bit of a decisive nod, the Plotmon suddenly let out a deafening shriek of holy energy. With the two Digimon being in such close-range of eachother, there was the hopeful chance that it would hit the Serpentemon (and if it hit it's tamer too... well that was a bonus).

Kaida wasn't fast enough to stop a card swipe, as she discovered today in the worst way possible. Jorgie too, she observed the split second before her head cracked against the ground, and a whimper broke through her lips as she clutched her head, they came away slightly sticky. Shit. " G-guh...we have to-" Of all the times, her body wasn't working, and Jorgie was splayed across the ground and didn't look to be getting up.
