A simple shrug did enough to show how much Kasumi minded Xavi's question. "Sure thing, I guess. Hand over your phone."
If Xavi did it, and it happened to not be blocked, the redhead would open a browser and show him how to access the dark net. For a supposedly hidden network, the process was quite simple, and accessing Encrtype after that was even easier. "And that's how you do it. Be aware that not all the peeps hanging in there are a friendly bunch."The app was like any messaging service ever; pick an username, enter a public room, create your own public/private room or just send PMs towards any of the users you've tagged as friends. Maybe a ripoff of other chat apps? Very likely, but it wasn't like any would find out. Soon enough, the teenager found a place to sit in order to watch the first battle, and seemingly there was enough space for both Yellow and Xavi, should they fancy sitting. At least she knew she did. Once there, she finally let Mirrormon come out from his hiding place on her backpack. "Jus' don't cause a ruckus, mate." Kinda ironic coming from Kasumi, but the small digimon nodded before waving at the congregation of mons and humans around them. "Greetings, friends! My name is Mirrormon, and I'm really pleased to meet you all."A lone palm collided with a forehead, signaling some frustration before Kasumi went on and answered to Yellow. "Not bettin' on this clownshow, to be honest. I'm sure there's dough to be made, but meh."Meanwhile, the first round of fights began, the fights ranging from boring, to very exciting to outright scary. That Daichi fellow charging head-on was equal parts surprising and unnerving, she had to admit. Mirrormon on his stead, couldn't but express but utter fascination at what he saw. It was incredible! Jorge and Mirrormon seemed surprisingly eager to watch the wannabe pokemon battles. Then again, he supposed humans had been watching each other fight to the death for entertainment for a couple of thousand years now. From gladiator matches to pit fights, they hadn't gotten much better.
He was the only one who would be betting, it seemed.
The blonde simply shrugged his shoulders at the other two. Well, he couldn't blame them if they were reluctant or unwilling to bet in something like this. It did almost feel dirty, what with the way the entire thing appeared to be organized like an underground fight ring.
But he didn't give a shit about that; there was money to be made and with the constant pressure from his parents and his impending 18th birthday coming up, he knew he would need quite a bit of extra cash in the oncoming days. He just hoped he didn't mess up big time and walk out with less than he came in.
"Well, guess I'll have to do enough betting for the three of us then." he said with a half lidded grin, leaning his head onto his fist as the battle's began. "The safe money is on the leader's Tenno and Konshu. Those guys'll probably not lose to anyone but each other."
Their fights pretty much proved it. In the tournament, there were only 3 champion levels so far, and it was clear that Tenno's Airdramon and Konshu's Kuwagamon, along with the head-honchos' cards, were quite above the curve.
That said, watching a man take down a champion level digimon with his bare hands was nothing short of terrifying. The mountain of muscles known as Daichi Kumo was clearly not someone you wanted to run across in a dark alleyway.
The fact that it was possible he was a Tamer hunter working for the government just made it all the more terrifying. If they had this kind of people working as their agent, it spoke loads of how far they were willing to go to deal with tamers.
"Holy shit, is that guy even human?" Wondered the blonde outloud, "He just beat a champion level digimon. If he doesn't run into Konshu or Tenno next round, that guys is one heck of a safe bet."

Somewhat startled but delighted that Red agreed, Xavi handed his phone to her, eager to hopefully become a part of this underground network of digimon tamers over Encretype. He had studied the ways of IT in high school and now that he had seen the process, he was confident of replicating it. "Okay, thanks" he smiled at her. "Yeah, I won't be like my grandma on it" he joked. But yes, he would be especially careful to simply observe the goings on of Encretype, rather than interact with them.
As they made their seating arrangements, Jorge was finally justified in his curiosity of Red's bag by there being a Mirrormon in it. "Hiya!" he said, grinning at him. Somehow he was glad there was another digimon in their little group. And kind of impressed too since he had no idea he was there. This Mirrormon guy seemed kinda formal, but Jorge didn't mind at this moment, he was just glad to get in contact with a digimon that wasn't hostile.
In the meantime, while Xavi wasn't keen on betting on combatant digimon, he was nonetheless interested in what Yellow had to say on the odds of each of them. "Of course, wouldn't make sense them being leaders if they didn't have that kind of staying power in the field" he remarked.
Jorge didn't say much from here, only made reactions to the battles below. He flinched when fatal blows were made, cheered if a digimon turned out to be making flourishing moves for the entertainment of the crowd, and boo'd at cheap, unsporting moves. Unfortunately they didn't seem to count as fouls, and it was simply a matter of who was prepared to fight the hardest.
However, as he watched, he learned. Jorge could now see where he went wrong all these years. Attacking when he should have been dodging, evading when he should have taken the initiative, this was what was missing in his whole life. He was paying close attention, and would take these lessons seriously.
Then came the later matches, and a human took down a Champion level without the help of a partner. Xavi and Jorge's jaws were dropped at the end of it.
"H... how is that possible?" Jorge asked, his voice almost a whimper. "Are you humans really that powerful?"
"I think there's something more to that guy than meets the eye" Xavi remarked. "Ordinary humans couldn't beet Champion levels in combat without additional weapons, I don't think".
So it seemed. Well then, what did Red and Yellow think of that?

Well, it seems that the three humans had found something in common; the three were surprised about Kumo's prowess. It was super fishy, but there was something that no one seems to have noticed about the fight. "Well, normally a human wouldn't hold his shit against a champ level for more than a dozen seconds, but this dude used cards, remember? I'm not sayin' there's something fishy 'bout the 'im, but some of the cardboard he slashed seemed to be pretty legit."She wasn't all that experienced about it, but she knew that their potential was next to limitless and that common folk just had the tip of the iceberg regarding that. "The weird thing 'bout it is that he used the cards on him, rather than his mon. But I guess that's how he fights." It might've been not as effective, but it definitely had the surprise element on its side. She was sure that most mons wouldn't know how to fight against a human. With that, the first round of combats had ended, and most people were dispersing to buy food or snacks until the next round. Kasumi figured she might do the same as well. She stood up, scooping Mirrormon in her arms. "I'll be off to buy somethin' to drink. You guys want anythin'?" Xavi Navarro Toshiro Emiya

"I saw the cards, I just can't believe what I saw after he used them." As far as the blond was concerned, cards were there as a needed boost, but they wouldn't grant your digimon partner an easy victory against an opponent of a higher level, much less the human.
This man's cards apparently proved him wrong. Or perhaps not. There was definitely something out of place with that man. Around... maybe seven foot tall and built like a brick wall, he definitely stood out like a sore thumb amongst the mass of teenagers and young adults that had gathered for the tournament.
"Maybe I need to buy more packs. Would be kind of fun to suplex a champion digimon, don'tcha think?" He commented while gulping, laying his elbow onto his thigh before propping his chin onto his palm, sitting on the edge of his seat as the first round came to an end.
In a surprising moment of kindness (kindness directed at him, that is), Red offered to get them something while she went to get a drink. Reaching into his rear pockets, the blonde produced his wallet and handed the redhead a 1000 yen bill. It felt sort of good to handle paper money for once; usually he just bought everything online.
"Thanks for the offer, Red. I ain't thirsty yet, but I could do with one of those hotdogs, if it ain't too much trouble." He had seen the stand while walking in. Needless to say, it had been a while since he had eaten a hotdog. They didn't usually deliver those, not to mention it made for a poor meal. As something to snack though, it seemed pretty ideal.

"The cards?" Xavi repeated, blinking at Red's words. He looked closer. Yes, the guy was using cards, but... how did that enable him to win? "But... how?"
"Digimon cards don't work like ya normal Four of Clubs or Queen of Spades" Jorge said, comfortable on Xavi's lap. "There's effects to 'em, ya know, especially when you slide 'em through your digivice".
"Huh..." Xavi muttered. He wondered where he might find such cards, although the ones that made the human below win against a champion digimon would be very rare indeed. So the cards could be used on either digimon or human? Xavi would remember that.
"Heh, wish I could suplex a champion" Jorge said, grinning. "Maybe even a Trailmon? That'd be a sight to see..."
"Oh you retro gamer you" Xavi chuckled. Yes, suplexing a train was an amusing thing for those that had played a certain game.
Then Red offered to get them something to eat or drink. Xavi wasn't really in the mood for snacks, but Jorge was used to this level of carnage. "I'll take some popcorn if that's okay, thanks" he said, offering some money from Xavi's wallet. He was about to object, but, popcorn did seem kind of like a good idea, so he let him.

It'd take her some time. Kasumi had to deal with lines, and despite her ability to effectively shove anybody who looked like they wanted trouble out of the way, the amount of people there was still somewhat high. Regardless, five minutes later she'd return to her seat, and a bag of popcorn and a hotdog would be handed soon enough to the people who requested them. She took a seat and opened a can of beer before taking a generous sip outta it. "Found a Nightmare guy or somethin' smugglin' these. Guess people can't have their entertainment without some good drinks, right? Round two should be beginnin' soon anyway. Seems painfully obvious that Tenno, Konchu, cptn' America and Kumo are winnin', but at least the spectacle will be nice to see."
After that round, there would be an extended break before the arena was prepared for the semifinals, so the most likely result would be that the three would split, but that was fine. Even if Yellow had mellowed down considerably, the teenager just preferred to not have to deal with his shenanigans. Toshiro Emiya Xavi Navarro

He would have explained the card thing, but Jorge got ahead of him. Seemed like the digimon had watched more of the digimon anime than Xavi ever had.
The blonde smiled up at the red head once she came back with the food, his hood doing a tremendous job at impairing his vision. He couldn't see her face at all, but at least he could see the food.
"Thanks Red." The hot dog tasted about as well as it looked, and it was nice to have pocket change for once. Leaning back in a relaxed manner the young man was ready for the second round of the tournament to begin.
"Drinking, Red? Such a rebel." he commented, before munching once more onto his hotdog. He swallowed quickly.
"I've never had a beer, now that I think about it." Even his short lived rebellious phase hadn't taken him drinking into a bar. Or rather, it hadn't managed to get him into one. "So... How much did it cost?" He asked.
Most of his past week had been all about new experiences due to trying to keep away from the beetle, so he supposed he may as well try now if there was some dude selling them. Tenno clearly didn't give a damn about the law, so it wasn't like it would matter.

Xavi seemed surprised that Red was actually drinking alcohol. It wasn't even legal for him to drink, it'd still take another year or so. Jorge meanwhile thanked Red as he ate the popcorn.
"So, how do those guys get so powerful anyway?" he asked out of interest. Xavi wondered that himself. After all, there had to be a secret to raising digimon that he was not yet privy to, given that Jorge had such limited power at the moment.
"Captain America, huh? Sounds like someone might be treating this like wrestling" Xavi remarked with a smirk. Now that the initial shock of digimon battles was over, he was starting to get used to the sheer destruction. And he was expecting a tamer to show up in some kind of costume.
Xavi didn't take up the offer to get a drink though. He wanted to have his wits about him for this, and the shadow of his cop brother loomed over his conscience. Jorge was tempted, but didn't want to be a digimon that dealt with a member of Nightmare. At least not just yet.

Apparently, getting them stuff had ended up in them having enough time to think a couple of questions, or somethin'. She gazed them, taking another sip before responding. "Nah, I just told him I wouldn't rat him out if he gave me a cold one and he agreed. Surprisingly agreeable for a Nightmare, don't you think? Jus' hopin' that a bit of harmless extortin' doesn't come back later and bites my ass, but it's already too late to think about it."
The fact that Yellow hadn't tasted beer in his whole life was pretty good at making her snicker. Well, so much for a tough guy. She was about to comment on that, but the second round was beginning. And, just as they had expected, the winners were clear; Eagleheart, Kumo, Tenno and Konchu. Guys were good at what they did, and there wasn't much she could say about it. Well, except answering Jorge's question. "These dudes have been around for some time, for sure. They've amassed data, and have enough power, resources and reputation to at least have a good deal of tamers behind them. And with that, I refer to Bowl Haircut and White Dye. There's something fishy about the other two, but I can't quite tell exactly what. I don't like in the slightest, however."
After that comment, she just stood up and began to walk away to the food stands again. Her intent was rather obvious, and if any of her acquaintances wanted anything, asking now was probably for the best.
Well, except for the fact that she wouldn't return. [Exit Thread]

"Coercion? Damn. I don't think I'm pretty or intimidating enough to not cause a fight." Compare to Red, who was both. The guy had probably been thinking of offering a beer from the moment she started walking in his general direction.
"I dunno. I've only known about tamers for like a week. Tamers should really try and be more careful. Literally ran into a group of them while taking a casual walk in the park. Then I played a game of chess with another two while taking another walk in the same park. Point is, they seem to like parks a lot." While he had nothing but mediocre humorous commentary on the subject, Red had a lot more insight on the ways digimon and tamers acquired power. Amassed Data... He supposed the anime was as good a source of information as any, then. So far, most of what had been shown in the show had proven to be correct.
"Captain America is giving the guy way too much credit. I mean, just look at him." He said, waving his hand in Eagleheart's general direction. "The guy's look just screams try-hard. Dude is probably a frustrated Canadian. He'll slip and start finishing his sentences with 'eh' before long. I assure it." With how exaggerated everything about the guy's persona was, Toshiro wouldn't have been surprised if Xavi were onto something. The guy would probably try to suplex someone soon enough.
Red was onto something; there was definitely something weird about the Daichi fellow; other than the fact that he had been outed as a government Tamer hunting agent. He just seemed inhuman in the way he fought, cards aside.
Eagleheart, though? The dude was just a walking character. Soon enough he would start slinging around one liners and trying to suplex his opponents. Him vs Kumo would be a fun fight to watch, for sure.
With Red silently taking her leave, the blonde decided to stand up as well, grunting as he stretched his arms above his head lazily. "Well! I'mma go get myself some of that beer. May be the last chance I get to try it before it becomes legal, and therefore boring, for me to do. See ya on the flip side, Xavi, Jorge." He said as he walked away, waving his arm lazily.

Huh, so it had actually been a nicer member of Nightmare? Xavi had to remember that.
"Eh, it's like us virus digimon. Yeah we get a bad rep, but we're more just... "chaotic" rather than "evil"." Jorge turned to grin up at him. "Sure we bite a bit more than Vaccines do but we can be good as well, I won't hurt ya".
Alright then, Xavi's mind was expanded a little. Jorge's popcorn supply soon ran out as they watched the proceedings of the battle. He appreciated Red's advice though. "Hmm, amass data eh? Well, best get a start on that, eh, Xavi?"
Seemed reasonable enough. Xavi would get on to that, somehow. But how does one get more data exactly? He was fairly certain it wouldn't happen from feeding Jorge flash USB drives. Jorge meanwhile was snickering from Yellow's banter about "Captain America".
With the proceedings mostly over, Xavi and Jorge waved back at Red and Yellow as they departed. Xavi wasn't really wanting to stick around by himself. Well, at the very least, he had got to know a couple of other tamers. And had a fairly good beginner's grasp on how to help Jorge.
"Come on, let's head to the park now" Xavi told his partner.
"Aw, already?" Jorge whined, but supposed it was getting a bit late. Best get a bit of sunshine before the night started after all. And so Xavi and Jorge soon left the scene, proceeding with the rest of their day - the spectacle of the battles fresh on their minds.
