Hinata's hand didn't leave his head as Fumi gave the entire explanation on how he lost his bag, scratching and ruffling his hair as they walked. He wouldn't mind him not remembering the name of the shrine he left it, considering Hinata would be forgetting it later either if he had been in his place. What Hinata was getting troubled by was that the pink haired boy, while sounding as positive as ever, did not have the certainty with his words that would have assured the older male.
Approaching the spot he pointed, Hinata took one glance before making a decisive judgement. "Well, it's not here anymore." Obviously. His shoulders gave a shrug, not seeing anything else worth noting. "Maybe someone brought it to the police, or simply went off with it. Unless it grew legs and walked away, I'm not sure how it would disappear otherwise." He strongly believed that it was probably stolen, though for the sake of getting his money back, he'd wish for a miracle for it to come back to this boy.
"What now, sonny? Still wanna look around here for it?" Though he had given up already, he wasn't sure if his companion shared his sentiments. He has all the time today to waste and he didn't mind waiting for him as long as he got what he waited for in the end. Else, he might just have to convince him to go back home. If he was to think about it now, he wouldn't mind forgetting about that tiny bit of cash as long as he isn't wasting his time for nothing.

There were two reasons Fumi called Hinata 'uncle': the first was because he felt like being a bit cheeky, but to his regret Hinata'd left the bait dangling. The second was that Hinata had, thus far, complained about just everything there was to complain about. From the weather, to the music, to now the possibility his bag might be here. It looked to Fumi altogether that Hinata was a great, big, negative person who looked to look at things from bottom to top, and then never look up far enough to see the stars. In short, Fumi was getting annoyed. He tried not to let that show, but he wore his heart on his sleeve and scowled despite himself. "'course I wanna look! What if it's here after all?" He crossed his arms and shook his head. "It'll take just a moment," he added. Fumi's gaze swept around, inspecting their side of the side walk. He looked above, to see if for some weird reason the bag was stuck to the bottom of the train tracks; which it wasn't. Then he rounded the corner and inspected the grassy slope that led up to the tracks. ### Cado told himself for the sixth time that Fumi was sure to come look for him. He was getting altogether fed up with his irresponsible 'tamer', who for all rights and purposes was the one who needed taming. How a kid like that had ever managed to score himself a spot on the Web Troopers was beyond him. He would've looked frightening in his annoyance, but as a Puroromon Cado managed to look more adorable than anything. The Digimon had stowed himself back in the bag, scowling miserably (impressive, considering he had no brows with which to scowl) when he heard the first bit of good news: a particularly high-pitched, almost-girly-but-definitely-boyish voice. "Took you long enough," he mumbled to no one in particular. Cado peeked out from the zipper, and satisfied he saw no eyes on him (or train nearby, importantly), lifted the bag like he would a delicate instrument, buzzing briefly to pass over the tracks. Then he hopped back into the bag, gave a hard shove, and rolled the bag down the slope. ### "Here it is!" Fumi cried, seizing the bag as it slid toward him. He immediately ruffled inside, earning him a jab from Cado, which he ignored. He seized his wallet, then slung the bag over his shoulder and hurried back to Hinata. "I found it!" he said, and waved the wallet. Hinata Ueno

He expected the response from him as soon as words left his mouth. On second thought, maybe he shouldn't have asked and simply stated his intent to leave once he got bored. A quick glance on his phone's clock told him he still has time. "Gotcha." Hinata went to do his own searching, albeit a little half-assed compared to Fumi. His eyes went on and looked for anything that resembles as a duffel bag from a distance, following the younger male as he did his own search. It was as he expected: no traces for any bag of sorts around the vicinity.
His eyes were not on Fumi when heard him yell. It was as if on that instant that the bag they were looking for suddenly appeared conveniently. "Wait, I thought you- the shrine-" he stammered. There was no use trying to justify himself giving up so easily, he figured. He did say that the shrine wasn't the only place he could have left it after all. He ended his unfinished sentences with a sigh, a congratulatory smile replacing it instead. "Well, congrats. Now you ain't broke." Golf claps were given by Hinata alongside the praise, as if Fumi won something.
"You can go home on your own now, right?" His tone seemingly alluded the fact that he was thinking of him as a child rather than a capable teenager. For someone who lost something as big and noticeable as that bag on his shoulder, Hinata was worried that it won't be the end of it for him. Hopefully, that was just him thinking too negatively of his situation.

It was the first bit of good fortune on a day that had heretofore been altogether unpleasant. Even Hinata's desultory congratulations could not waver Fumi's heart. He grinned from ear to ear, and fished out exactly 50 yen more than the Ramune was worth. "I don't have it any smaller," he said, holding out the money. "You don't have to pay me back! Consider it a thank you for helping me look." He added, "And for keeping me company, and footing the bill, and all that. That was cool of you, uncle. "And I do know the way back. Don'cha worry. I've only gotten lost thrice in fifty days! Today won't be the fourth time," he finished. He fetched his phone from the bag, and tapped it once. Twice. Thrice. Then his shoulders drooped and his expression darkened. Of course, if it rained it poured, and there was no way he could only have good fortune. "Mommy's gonna kill me." The screen remained dark, despite his gentle (and less gentle) attempts to convince it to do otherwise. Hinata Ueno

He now felt wrong for asking his money back now that it's being returned to him. Forcing the boy to pay up for something that wasn't worth much just seemed to be a hassle for both sides. "N-No problem," was all he could say after getting handed the money. Whether it was the realization that he was a greedy human being or that he was still being called uncle by a boy whose name was still unknown to him, Hinata felt wrong on the inside afterwards.
"Try not to get lost for the fourth time after today either." He was about to walk away when he noticed him fiddling around the phone he was mentioning back at the cafe. A brow was raised, curiosity taking over him. Walking over with his arms folded, he noticed that the phone, as he expected, wasn't working after being drenched in the rain. A few taps told him that he was trying to power it up. "Well, ya trying to ruin it more?" Wet circuit boards generally get shorted as far as he knows.
"Just... turn it off 'til you get home. Bury it on rice or something before trying to turn it on again. It's been a while since it's been wet though, so I'm not sure if it'll still work. Still worth a shot, though." It was a quick remedy that he got from somewhere in his family, which seemed to work despite how stupid it sounded. He was pretty sure there was science behind it, but he wasn't bothered to learn about it. "Got it memorized?" Somehow, Hinata wouldn't be surprised if the boy forgot about it as soon as he gets home.

It would've been comical if Fumi's expression had darkened any further. But given that it was absolutely impossible, he settled for huffing and chewing his cheek. "I'm not some dumb lil' kid who just does whatever, old timer," he growled, pocketing the phone. "I'm not trying to ruin anything, it already is." On a day where everything had already gone wrong, Fumi felt he had been abundantly charitable by staying as cheerful as he could. But after everything that'd happened, with an unwanted shower to top it off, he just couldn't handle the condescension and constant complaints any longer. He levelled a finger at Hinata, tossing out years of 'Don't point, it's rude' out the window as he did so. "Where do you get off being such a condescending bastard anyway?" he added, glowering. He punched his duffle bag for no reason, which caused something inside to buzz angrily for a split moment. A few of the passers-by looked at the incident, though most simply went on with their day. It was nearing dinner time, after all. Hinata Ueno

You are though, he thought to himself. The finger pointed at his face was a reason to believe so. For the first time he was trying to be positive about his phone getting fixed, though the boy suddenly had his outburst after they finally found his bag. He couldn't defend himself from it either, especially since he know he's been a 'condescending bastard' to him since the meeting at the cafe. Oh well. He shrugged, reminding of himself the reason why he shouldn't be too nosy about others' possessions for next time.
"You'll soon grow to hate the world after high school, sonny. Maybe you'll be a condescending bastard after that, too." His head moved in a sagely manner as he spoke. Either university work or simply becoming an employee to a corporate did it, as he observed. He was on the way there too, with that speech about his friends ditching him in the middle of the rain and all. "Let's just say you wouldn't be receiving this treatment if I had your name. It's easier to be rude to strangers than people you don't know, no?" He ended with a smile, a condescending one.
Nothing he could do about him though. Hinata already got what he was here for and had no need to stay with him further. Trying to help more than what he was expected to was unnecessary in the first place. His hand went over and lowered the finger pointed at him before turning from him and walking away. There was no point in staying unless he wants to watch him explode as he did in the cafe.

Just who the hell did he think he was? He wasn't─ There was just so much wrong with what he was saying! Fumi, a condescending jerk? Never. Fumi glared daggers, even at Hinata's retreating back. He wasn't going to be like that, Fumi resolved. No way, no how. He was going to be positive about things, and have a bright outlook, and be chipper and cheery in that queasy sort of way that made people want to down a coffee and curse the world. The boy was sure of it. He wouldn't be like uncle Hinata. He'd be friendly. He'd be nice. He'd lift people up, rather than kick 'em down. "You really were too harsh there, Fumi," Cado piped up from inside the bag. "Shut up." "I'm sure he meant no offence, so maybe yo─" "I said shut up," Fumi growled. So much for being a better person. He'd start tomorrow. Cado'd forgive him. There was a weak buzzing from the bag. Something wet landed on Fumi's nose. Looked like the skies were about ready to weep again. A gift that kept giving and giving and giving...
