JANUARY 14th, 2006 1:34 AM SHIBUYA, TOKYO
The teenage gogglehead stood aside his Coronamon and glared up at the Parrotmon. A mixture of fear, glee, and determination struck across his face.
The last few clouds of the emergence field the giant Digimon had been heralded by faded to a miserable white wisp, before disappearing completely. The giant bird slammed a three-pronged, clawed foot down in front of them and promptly split the tarmac.
It had already flattened three cars, and if it were left on its current path for any longer, it was likely it would do more than simple mechanical damage. The next stomp sent a shower of broken glass raining down upon the trio and their partners.
The gogglehead looked to his rival with the baby dragon, and then to their bright comrade with the many-legged insectoid. He yanked down his ski goggles, orange lenses glaring under the starlight. The off-crimson of the flames that the Parrotmon had managed to spread up and down the once-idyllic suburban road danced along the reflection.
The gogglehead exhaled, and then turned down to nod at his partner. The Coronamon grinned right back up at him, and snapped its fingers, conjuring up miniature fireballs in both hands. He turned back to the trio one more time.
"You ready, guys?"

The boy in the sweater vest coolly folds his arms into his chest, standing ready for the Parrotmon's advance. At his side, Dracomon snarls as tongues of lightning flicker behind gnashing fangs.
"More than you are," he says to his friend, the gogglehead, with a teasing tone. It was typical of him to put on a brave face when danger reared its ugly head, but this wasn't a situation the vested teenager had actually counted on watching unfold.
Admittedly, he, too, was anxious. The giant green bird had already flattened several cars and took out a bridge with nothing but its body weight. Allowing it to roam unhindered simply wasn't an option here.
He takes a glance at his allies, goggle-boy and his fiery lion-child and the white-haired pipsqueak with a multi-legged insectoid, expecting them to be able to keep up. They obviously knew what was at stake here.
The teenager cannot help but feel a sense of anticipation for what was about to take place. It excited him far more than it did terrify. He takes an another offhand look at his third companion.
"How about you? You pee your pants yet?"

"According to my calculations, this thing is of the Ultimate level. I don't think we've faced something like this before, so let's be careful."
The white haired nerd would say to his comrades, closing up his laptop and preparing to face the threat. He was definitely nervous, and wasn't really afraid to show it, especially since the majority of their team wasn't present.
"Don't worry - it's just a giant bird with a serious attitude problem." His many-legged friend would say to him, giving him a boost of confidence. He was right. It was just a giant bird - and they weren't without a plan. He had luckily scanned this beast just beforehand, and he had an idea of some of its weaknesses.
The nerdy boy in shorts stepped forward, looking upon the destruction the Parrotmon had already caused. His partner prepared himself, reading an electrical attack.
"Well, we can't just let this thing ruin everybody's lives. Let's do this."
The stars shined bright in the sky, highlighted by the fire that rose in various directions from the monster bird's attacks. A deep part of the boy felt a bit of excitement, a bit of adventure, for one of the very first times, his life was on the line. He couldn't let everybody down now.
