Cooperation between both the summoned Kyubimon and Kokabuterimon proved to be a good strategy against the metallic beetle-like Digimon. While it's attention was diverted towards Kyubimon, it managing to skillfully weave side by side, it would be engulfed by a blast fired from the Berenjena that had just materialized in Kokabuterimon's hands. While seemingly at first a direct hit, the shotgun short wasn't completely dead-on. At the last minute, the Champion level had parried against the explosive shot with it's blade... evident by it missing an entire chunk of it. The missing shard of metal fell to the ground, shattering into data. Sure enough, the BladeKuwagamon was screeching in pain. Having an entire section of itself (not to mention it's primary weapon) snapped cleanly off its body was a good sign that it was fighting a losing battle. At this point, it was panicking and had lost a lot of its prior gusto. It quickly began to attempt backpedaling, trying to put distance between itself and it's attackers while keeping an eye for further shots.
BladeKuwagamon dodges Fox Flames and attempts to block the shot from Berenjena. It only manages to partially do so, it's blade snapped in half. It is now attempting to flee

Toshiro wasn't sure of how to react to the missing portion of the digimon's weapon. From the way it was screeching, it was clearly not just its weapon, which made the young blonde a bit squeamish. If that were a human that would have likely been a lost limb. The pain the digimon must have been going must have been unimaginable.
Maybe he should have been happy, or at least felt about it, considering the wounds on his skin caused by it, but watching the digimon try to scramble away for its life, managing to project terror with just it's panicked motions, made him pause.
It had been hurt enough. It was clearly on retreat. He could just let it go for now, he supposed.
"We gotta finish it." Muttered KoKabuterimon somberly to his partner as he pointed the berenjena at the scrambling digimon. Toshiro stared blankly at him.
"What?" he asked, "It's trying to escape. May as well just let it go." He said, shrugging his shoulders at the Beetle.
"Shiro." The digimon gave him a tense, firm look. As if he knew exactly why they couldn't just let the pitiful creature go. The blond refused to meet the bug's eye, instead clicking his tongue. "We can't-" The digimon started.
"Yeah, yeah... I know." The blonde cut him off. It was essentially a wounded animal with far too much power to allow to roam free. Clearly beyond the blonde's ability to calm down or even tame, if either was even an option after injuring it so severely.
Ultimately, they couldn't just let a champion digimon run around and cause mayhem in Tokyo. It had to be put down.
Still... he really didn't want to kill a digimon that had already lost the will to fight.
"It's better if we do it now, quick." mumbled the beetle, pointing the shotgun back at the BladeKuwagamon.
"Yeah." responded the human as he glanced at the Kyuubimon, which was slowly beginning to disappear. It's time was nearly up. "Kyuubimon. Surround it with fire." he ordered faintly.
With its last few seconds, the Kyuubimon howled as its tails ignited into flames once again, before multiple fireballs were swung into the air, falling around the injured blade digimon to surround it.
It wasn't intended to contain it, but to spook it into stopping cold for just a second, so that-
BANG!
The Berenjena thundered in the dead of the night, its last bullet sailing towards the broken BladeKuwagamon.

It was very clear from the way it wobbled in the air that the BladeKuwagamon has seen better days. Despite it's attempts to weakly fly to safety, it was forced to dodge another set of fireballs that was hurled it's way by the disappearing Kyubimon... As fast as it was, it was not fast enough to evade the second shot from the demonic shotgun Kokabuterimon wielded.
The shotgun's muzzle flash was the last thing the Champion level saw before having it's body instantly vaporized into data from the exploding shell on it's body, it's life loudly snuffed out as it left not even a trace of physical evidence of it's presence.
BladeKuwagamon has been deleted. It's data is up for absorption.

Whoever said Victory was sweet clearly had never had to put down a rabid dog. Even though he had no previous relationship to the wild digimon, the joy of surviving the fatal confrontation with the BladeKuwagamon was held back by the sobering act of having to finish it off for the sake of people that, frankly, he didn't really care about.
"Somehow, killing Eagleheart would have been so much easier." He commented somberly to himself, his gaze not moving away from the flowing data of now dead digimon. Eagleheart had been a murderer without any redeeming qualities. A wild animal couldn't really evoke much hatred from blonde.
His D-arc was throbbing in his fist, screen flashing quickly, words such as absorb and data onto the screen.
"Toshiro." Spoke up KoKabuterimon as he walked up to stand besides him, dropping the now empty Berenjena into the grass, the weapon dissolving into data. "What are we going to do?" He asked, turning his gaze to look at the data.
A minute or so passed with the blonde saying nothing, simply stuffing his hands into his running jacket's pockets silently.
"Say, Kokabuterimon." He suddenly spoke, his gaze slowly turning back to the star lit sky, the clouds that had signaled the BladeKuwagamon's arrival before having long since disappeared. "What happens when a digimon dies?"
The beetle shrugged his shoulders at his partner, waving his hand at the mass of data.
"You saw, didn't you? They dissolve into data."
"Yeah." mumbled the young man. "What happens to their data?"
"Well... it usually gets absorbed." Muttered back the beetle.
The blonde squeezed his digivice within his pockets, his brows furrowing.
"And if they don't."
"It-, It goes back to the digital world and they get reborn, maybe? I dunno. I've never died. I think."
"Hmm. Is that so." The blonde mumbled.
He began walking towards the mass of data, closing he distance between it and himself... before dropping onto his ass in front of it, crossing his legs.
"Well. Let's keep guard until it gets back to its home."
"That... yeah, let's do that." said KoKabuterimon, offering no protest as it took a seat besides his partner.
The two stood watch over BladeKuwagamon's data until it completely disappeared; hopefully, having returned to the digital world.

While available for the taking, BladeKuwagamon's data was left alone. Sure enough, it seemed to dematerialize faintly with the fragments of data rising into the air before vanishing for good from the real world; having returned to it's home in the Digital World between the cracks of both worlds. Beyond some light battle damage to the terrain from the unexpected fight that had just transpired, the area seemed to return back to a tranquil calm. Crickets began to chirp once more, having went silent from the heat of battle until now. For now, a sense of peace was brought back into the area.
BladeKuwagamon's data has returned back to whence it came.

The human and digimon guarded the digimon's data in silence until it returned to the digital world. When the last visible fragment of data vanished into the night sky, the blonde silently stood up, patting his rear to get the soil off his pants.
Besides him, KoKabuterimon was still, his gaze still set onto the night sky.
"Come on, KoKabuterimon." said the tamer, prodding the heavy bug with his foot. "It's getting way too chilly to be out here."
"Huh? What's that?" Suddenly asked the KoKabuterimon, cocking his head in befuddlement at the sky. The human sighed, the exhaustion from the fight shortening his patience.
"I said it's-"
"No that! What's that?" Interrupted the beetle as he jumped to his feet, pointing one of his large fists at the sky. The blonde followed his line of sight until he found himself staring at... pair of cards descending towards them.
"Huh. What indeed." He muttered to himself as the cards got closer, extending his hand with a tilted brow. The cards' descent was rather controlled, both falling perfectly into his awaiting palm. Unnatural to say the least.
"Did the digital world just give you cards?" Asked KoKabuterimon in disbelief, yanking his partner's wrist down in order to get a good look at them. "I thought you humans made these!"
"Trust me, I'm as confused as you are." commented the blonde as he squatted besides his digimon, his wrist having grown sore under KoKabuterimon's grip. "I know what this blue one is, and trust me, you will love it. This one tho, is... weird."
He held the blue card away from the other, tilting a thin brow at the so called 'Spirit Card'. "You know what this spirit business is all about?"
"Heart of the ca-?"
"Doubtful."
"I got nothing then. Try it out?"
The human shrugged his shoulders at the bug, turning the spirit card in his grip, before slowly sliding it through the D-arc's scanner.
Immediately after, the screen lighted up with a strange glow, before the card suddenly shattered. A few seconds later, the screen's lighting dropped back to normal, and... nothing else happened.
"Huh. Did I fuck that up?"
"You probably did."
"Well, we'll never know what that did, I suppose."
"Goddamn it, Shiro."
"Don't look so pissed. I've still got this." Said the blonde as he held up the blue card, as if it was supposed to mean anything to the beetle.
Kokabuterimon looked understandably unimpressed.
"The card with no text on it to tell us what it does? Yay." He said sarcastically, crossing his arms. "You'll probably break it too!"
"Nah, this one won't break. I know what this one does." The blonde said as he practiced a few cheap parlor tricks with the card.
"Oh yeah? How?" Sweet KoKabuterimon, ever steadfast in his lack of faith in his tamer.
"This one was in the show." Informed the tamer in a matter-of-factly tone as he made the card seemingly disappear with a flick of his wrist.
"Oh." KoKabuterimon uttered as he reached for the blonde's arm and easily revealed the card the blonde had tried to hide, prompting a grumbling response from the boy.
"For someone who got so into the Card game, I'm surprised you haven't asked me to get you the show as well." He said in mild annoyance as he pulled the card away from the digimon.
"Whatever, I'll watch it later. What does the card do?" At this, the human allowed a somewhat excited grin to slip over his lips. The look he gave to his partner, so unusual and out of place, made the beetle unsure as to whether he should be equally excited, or frightened.
"This, KoKabuterimon, is the kind of thing that is best shown." The blonde said as he pressed the blue card to the D-arc's scanner.
The Spirit Card has been used. +1 Spirit
