GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
The aroma of fallen cherry blossoms drifts in the air; while detectable by the senses, it is little more than a detailed simulation, courtesy of the Web Troopers' advanced augmented reality software technology, much of which was acquired through channels of questionable scrutiny. This particular room, dubbed by some of the more culturally savvier Troopers as the 'Holo-Deck', was the faction's magnum opus in virtual simulation gadgetry, as it came programmed with a whole suit of options that enabled whoever was using it to create whatever conditions they desired, from settings to weapons, even combat exercises. Right now, Nero Adesso was using the Holo-Deck as a meditation ground, having programmed the enormous space to resemble an elaborate Zen garden that sat flanked by the walls of a Japanese castle taken straight from the feudal era. He sat directly in the center of the great sand structure, surrounded by smooth stones and carefully cultivated bonsai trees positioned strategically throughout the garden. Those who wished to enter the simulation in progress would find that the door leading into Invicta Headquarters proper had been keyed to look like a sliding paper door, yet another aesthetic touch to the grandiose illusion.

Nero AdessoShino sighed as she entered the doorway of the entrance to the base. She had finished school and decided it was time for her to visit the HQ of the Troopers again. She came there for her own research and hacking pratices. It was far safer for her to do it there than using her home computer or her laptop at the local coffee shop. Even with free wifi-- there were means she could be traced if she was ever caught. With the resources of the Web Troopers, she could polish her skills and access the network. Not to mention as a Digimon tamer, it was a relatively safe place for Commandramon to run around and not need to be in stealth mode. Now if only he didn't go causing problems for the others... "Hey! Drop those dounuts! Those are for everyone!" one of the Troopers shouted. As Shino was focused on a data structure from the network, Commandramon ran with an armfull of doughnuts and one in his mouth as one of the troopers chased him. She tried her best to focus but it was growing more and more annoying. She really should of brought headphones to block out the noise or something. Still, it was clear Commandramon, AKA Vector, was causing trouble as he always did. "Hey get out of there! That's not a toy!" the man shouted, "Chidori-kun!" She sighed as she stopped typing and spun around slowly in her computer chair. "Yes?" she asked with a hand on her forehead. "Will you do something about your partner?" he shouted, pointing to Commandramon. "I swear, I want to delete him!" Shino stood up from her chair and marched over to Commandramon. The military-dressed dinosaur just blinked at them. "What? I'm a growing mon!" he said and shameishly swallowed the second dounut. She looked to the other Web Trooper member and waved a hand at him, telling him she would handle it. "Fine, you can have your snacks-- but then we are going to train it all off, got it?" she said with a stern tone. Hearing that, Commandramon paused as he was about to stuff a third one-- then soon waddled it over to a table where his rifle was leaning against. He put them down and took his gun back. "Point taken. Sorry, but lets go! I want to have some fun training for a change!" Shino shook her head and withheld a laugh. "Fine, lets go. Maybe making you work for a change will give me a moment's peace later..." she said and waved him to follow her. With her cards in her card holder pack behind her, Shino approached the simulation room the others had talked about-- but was met by the strange sliding door that was not really fitting with the cold stone atmosphere of the hall. "Huh?" Shino said, finding the decore different. With his rifle in hand, Commandramon too looked to the door, curious. Slowly, she reached for the door and opened it-- revealing a bright light as if the sun had shown through. Stepping through, the two found themselves in an old Japanese castle landscape. It was realistically pristine-- a hologram created for training purposes, but it was surprisingly realistic. Even cherry blossom petals fluttered around the air as they walked in. There, sitting in a japanese sand garden in the main square, Shino saw a strange man. He seemed significantly older than she was, but she had never seen him. For a moment, she thought he was part of the hologram but the fact he was there meditating seemed unlikely. Slowly she approached cautiously, Commandramon following behind her. "Um, excuse me?" she asked, "Who are you? If your one of the Troopers, I don't know you. Are you a new recruit like me?" she asked in a calm tone. Commandramon kept behind his partner, peeking from behind her, blinking at the cloaked stranger.

GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
The pressurized doors of the Holo-Deck move open to allow a newcomer to enter. Nero's ears pick up on her approach almost instantly; her footsteps were soft and cautious. Were this a live mission, such prudence would have been commendable, especially since she now faced a modern day ninja in the flesh. She asks a question, ignorant of both his communication issues as well as the fact that he had been working with the Troopers for a little under four to five years now. Her lack of awareness was forgivable, though, because she had chosen to make her own newblood status known to the man. Unfortunately, she interrupted his mental exercises. Just as he was about to get to the good part, too, where he dumps all the bullshit running through his brain and achieves a sense of renewed clarity and invigoration. With a defeated sigh, Nero Adesso grunts as he pushes his way back to a standing pose, moving his hands up to lower his beaked hood so that she could get a better look at his face. The assassin's brows furrow, yet his scarred lips form a smirk to express to the girl how silly her inquiry was, shrugging for added emphasis. What was she looking for?

Nero AdessoShino just looked up at him with a silent stare, waiting for him to speak. After a good period of time, he didn't say a word and just glared at her angrily. Maybe she was in the wrong to interrupt him, but how would she know the room was being used when he was just sitting there doing nothing. ANd him not saying anything was causing more questions. "Um... you heard me right?" she asked, unaware of him. Despite her knowledge of things, she honestly didn't know him. Commandramon came out of hiding to stand up in front. The nervous tension caused his chameleon-like ability to have his pixilated skin change to that of the new terrain. "Maybe he is a mime." Commandramon suggested, breaking the silence with his lame jokes/opinions. "You know, one in training?" Shino glared at Vector, not as funny as he thought he was. "Somehow I doubt that..." she said. The quiet attitude however, like Vector worked to break, was returned as the man refused to speak. "Um... look I came here to train but if your busy..." she stopped, hoping he would answer. Still, it seemed unlikely he was gonna talk at all. He just continued to glare like a death-stare. "Maybe he's a mute..." Vector whispered to her-- and caused her to give him a somewhat gentle kick to his side. "Ow!"

GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
Nero can only stare at the two rookie Troopers with growing amusement as they juggled back and forth on Nero's total lack of input, before the dinosaur in tactical military gear presents the winning answer--only to have his spurt of insight reprimanded by a gentle kick from his controller. The Italian-born saboteur and mercenary points affirmatively at the girl's digital monster, gesturing with a bright smile that the Commandramon was actually correct in his assumptions. Nero follows up by pretending to clasp at his throat, shaking his head; then, he points to his ears while nodding, indicating to the both of them that he was neither A) deaf, B) mentally deficient, or C) a raging, sweltering asshole. But in spite of his immense ability in combat or the array of stealth and espionage techniques at his disposal, Nero lacked the single most critical skill of all: being able to introduce his own name to other people. As a ninja, this would have been traditionally viewed as redundant, even frowned upon. However, they weren't on a mission, and neither of these two apparently knew him enough to recognize that he couldn't talk or write. Reading was its own challenge. For now, he would simply have to make do with whatever nickname these two greenhorns had to pull out of thin air. Nero was used to it, and honestly didn't mind the pseudonyms and the monikers. His inability to argue against whatever he was called, regardless of how silly it was, meant that no one beyond the Troopers would ultimately know his true identity. The girl mentioned training. Nero sits back to his knees and theatrically gestures toward the lush Japanese scenery created by the room's holographic imaging systems, as if he were silently permitting her access to the room and its contents. He did not own this place, nor was he entitled to deny her entry. He might have been mute, but Nero Adesso was far from inconsiderate.

Nero Adesso Shockingly, Vector/Commandramon was right on the money regarding his lack of sensitivity or tact to the situation. His hand gestures seemed to indicate he couldn't talk. Commandramon gave a happy jump. "Oh! Oh! I was right," he said and smirked at Shino. Shino shook her head and sighed. "I guess so. I'm sorry," she said. "Does that mean You will kiss my boo-boos you gave me?" he asked, wagging his tail. Considering where she had kicked him... she cringed and shook her head again. "In your dreams, metal-head" Commandramon gave an 'aww' of disappointment but continued to watch the man. They noticed his gestures but wasn't very clear. Shino didn't even know if he could communicate right-- but his eyes. There was intelligence in his eyes all the same. She doubted this guy was some nut, but still... it was hard to communicate with him. "Can you... understand me at least? Nod if you do," she asked. Looking at the sand, she wondered if there was a way to communicate. Could he write? "Hey, write your name for me? You can write, can't you?" she asked-- unaware he was Dyslexic.

Nero grumbles audibly, though this was not directed at the two; he was more frustrated with himself, largely because he could not compel his brain to produce the energy necessary to form the same words they could speak without effort. She asks if the Italian-born ninja can write, and he lets off another sigh of personal disgruntlement. Attempting to articulate his thoughts on paper was just as challenging, if not more so. At the very least, he can make sounds, but trying to create intelligible sentences with baby noises wouldn't have made his verbal disability any easier to explain. Just then, a light bulb figuratively turns itself on, and Nero loops his finger and thumb together, brings them to his mouth, and lets out a piercing whistle. The digitized cherry blossoms floating throughout the Holo-Deck swirl around a single area for a brief moment, then are blasted outward by a gust of wind as a small humanoid in olive green ninja gear suddenly appears out of nowhere. The bulky television that acted as the new arrival's head was an immediate indicator that he was a Digimon, just like Commandramon: Nero Adesso's partner, Monitamon. Sluggishly, the Rookie level shinobi turns his glass face towards Nero, whom gestures back in a series of hand motions and expressions that he was having difficulties getting himself across to the Trooper girl and her partner. With an equally quiet nod, Monitamon returns focus back to other pair, and steps forward into the sand. Then, he thrusts both of his chubby arms outward, and the intricate grooves and ridges of the space directly in front of the little ninja reduces itself to a smooth plane, as if he had commanded the very elements themselves to bow to his will. Of course, the reality of it was far more simple than that; this was merely the benefit of working with augmented reality hologram projectors. Once a clear spot had been made, Monitamon reaches into his backpack and retrieves a nondescript metal rod ending in a tiny ball, which he uses to write out a crude message in the grammatical Japanese hiragana for the pair to read. ' On my master Nero's behalf, I apologize for his lack of dialogue. He cannot speak and is also illiterate, thus I have been summoned to act as interpreter.'

Nero Adesso Once again, Shino was baffled-- till he soon gave a sharp whistle. At least his motor skills were sharp as a knife-- and with it, something popped out like a ninja-- an oddly dressed green Digimon with a monitor for a head. He was a strange one-- like a cross between a computer and a pig. Commandramon suddenly let out a soft bit of drool from his lips. "Is it just me or does he look like bacon?" he asked. Shino growled at him and threatened to kick him again. He quickly reacted and flinched. "No more kicking! I'm joking! Sheesh..." The Monitamon made a well written description on behalf of his master and soon things became clearer. Shino let out a breath as she realized she needed to call him something. "Well... if we don't know his name, might as well give him a code name." Shino suggested. " At least if we don't know his name. " "Like me?" Vector asked, " You did name me Vector." "Yeah, because of your skill with the gun." Shino said and looked over at the man in white. "Hmmm... how about Ghost? Or maybe with your italian garb... maybe Dante? " she suggested. It was then he gave the OK for them to use the training grounds. This was a welcomed relief to Shino as she nodded at him. "Um... thanks, " she said and bowed to him in a traditional means. "Guess we are gonna train, though not sure what we are going to be shooting at." Commandramon unstrapped his rifle and aimed via his sniper scope. "Show me the bad guys. I'll knock em flat on their butts before they see the bullet. Phew!" he boasted, showing off his modified rifle. Before he was reformatted by Shino's hack. Commandramon had a standard rifle-- but when he met Shino it became to double as a sniper rifle, reflected by Shino's preference in the program he tried to hack into. Long story...

This time, it was Monitamon's turn to be confused by the other duo's air-headed antics. He had just written Nero's name in the sand, and they were already wanting to apply a code handle to him? Not that such an alias wasn't welcome, but making one up now was just redundant. On the surface of his glass screen of a face, a colorful pictograph of the archetypal 'beads of sweat' flashed as Monitamon circled the word "Nero" with his rod apparatus, pointing at it a couple of times for emphasis. That was his name. But, the little ninja Digimon was quick to shrug in unison with his Tamer. It simply couldn't be helped. More importantly, she was now comfortable enough to reveal her intentions for coming to the Holo-Deck: the Trooper rookie wanted to partake in some training exercises, always a constructive means of spending one's free time. Monitamon jumps at the opportunity to be of assistance and collapses his pointer device with a solid push of a hand. Once he assumes a rather playful looking pose, the screen on his head begins to flicker and fizzle with visual static until it replaces itself with a somewhat old-fashioned scrolling prompt in lime green text, reminiscent of an age when the first personal computers became available to the public: Accessing 'c://program/shinto_panorama.asp'... File loaded. Running diagnostics...

(OOC: My mistake got confused by your small text) Nero Adesso They saw the name scribbled in the sand, and soon Shino corrected herself. "I'm sorry. Nero. Well, nice to meet you," she explained and gave a small polite bow of her head. She had not been noticing it since Monitormon was so quiet in his actions-- and Vector so distracting with his stupid antics. With the start of their training however, the Monitomon got their attnetion once more. It was confusing for Shino but she looked at the little menu-- and Commandramon squeezed in to see as well. What ran was an odd prompt for a program. It seemed Monitomon could communicate in programing code as well-- something Shino was familiar with but not familiar with the context of 'shinto_panorama.asp'. Clearly it was a program command, but what it did or run--- she didn't know, as it was exclusive to the digimon's aptitude. "Ooooh? I want to hit no just to see what happens..." Commandramon commented as if it was a video game option. Shino elbowed him in the shoulder to move him away. "Knock it off, you dork. Its for the training exercise." she said, "We accept?" she asked, assuming it was Monatomon's way of asking them. Though not waiting for a response, Commandramon raised a claw and pressed the "YES" option, as if it was a touch-screen option-- and probably not be welcomed by the digimon. Now all that was left was to wait and see what happened.

At least the young Trooper girl was sensible enough to recognize the typeface as a visual cue to answer the little Rookie ninja's honest attempt at forming a question regarding the Holo-Deck's current stage settings. It was a little weirdly put, as she might have noticed, but maybe-- The Commandramon thrusts a finger into Monitamon's screen, thinking it was an interactive prompt. Rather than confirming the camouflage-print dinosaur's decision, all he managed to do was create a dull tink as he poked his glass face, motivating the flustered shinobi to take a few wild, self-defensive swings while the programming script replaced itself with a fitting emoticon: " [ఠ益ఠ]" Nero claps his hands together sharply, pulling Monitamon back to reality so that he could fulfill Shino's request to activate the Holo-Deck's programmed training simulators, which he does after changing the pictogram on his face to one of embarrassment. Then, the emoticon fades away as the Rookie's body tenses up like he had been shocked with a cattle prod, his screen for a face glowing brightly as lines upon lines of coding scrolled from bottom to top, filtering through the room's numerous settings to make the appropriate adjustments. A few tweaks here, some alterations there, and--oh, is that coding for a hot spring? Perfect! When the final changes are applied, the lush Japanese panorama undergoes some slight, albeit visible transformations. The first of which was the replacement of the setting sun with a big, full moon. The second being the inclusion of a single enemy, one that Monitamon had been eager to test his skills against for a while but never fully had the chance to try out, that is, until this very moment. But, where is it? Even Nero was left hanging in confusion, although Monitamon just shrugged at him, projecting a series of three question marks to his master as further reinforcement of his own lack of understanding for the situation. Nero Adesso The sudden emoji face caused Commandramon to give a jolt back, realizing his error-- and a sigh from Shino. "Wha! Sorry-sorry... Jeez, everyone so touchy," he said and rubbed the back of his neck. "Maybe because you do such stupid things," Shino growled at him, "For someone who 'wishes he had a heart' you could use more brains, to be honest..." she half joked-- using the Wizard of Oz reference. Ever since Vector had seen it as part of learning about human culture, he identified with the Tinman. Like him, he was technically a machine-- and yet, he longed to feel what it was like to 'have a heart'. Of course, digimon and machines acted differently. Still, it made no excuse for his nosey personality. As Nero reined in his Monitomon, as suddenly coding filled his screen. Shino only could grasp a few of the codes-- moving relatively fast for her eyes. The hot springs looked like something Vector would enjoy... but moving on, the enviorment changed. The sunlight suddenly turned to night-time and moonlight lit up the holographic arena. If the battle stage was set-- there was no enemy just yet. COmmandramon looked around but shrugged his shoulders as well-- while Shino was a bit more on point. She took a deep breath. "Commandramon, go set up your position. You know what to do," she said as she calmly slipped her hands into her pockets. "Yes, Ma'am!" he said in military lingo and quickly scurried towards one of the stairs that led to the upper tiers of the japanese mansion. The little dinosaur quickly found the stairs and climbed it with his stubby little legs. All the while Shino casually walked into the open. It was eerily quiet as she kept calm and still there. Even though it was a virtual test field... she could feel the cold air on her limbs. She would have to complement the engineer on the excellent coding work.

The girl named Shino is swift to compel Vector, her Commandramon, into taking up a sniper's position within the room's elaborate holographic setup, running up one of the Holo-Deck's rendered stairwells to secure an appropriate location. Nero merely sits atop his legs in total silence, attuning his ears to the virtual winds for signs of movement. The sound of blowing leaves fills the air. A brook trickles and flows in the simulated distance. The sound of footprints thumping against clay tile-- A ferocious shadow leaps from atop the very pavilion that Vector had just entered, brandishing a gently curved blade and concealed by the pale silver moonlight. Nero looks up to find that the approaching form was now closing in rapidly overhead, the pointed tip of its sword aimed directly for the assassin. Immediately, the white-robed man rolls backwards and pushes himself back into a standing position with a skilled display of acrobatics, just barely managing to avoid being skewered, if only on a virtual basis, by a humanoid creature wearing what appeared to be a worn suit of samurai's battle armor, glaring at the ninja warrior with bloody red eyes. Nero's posture remains low to the ground, his left hand concealed by the presence of the fancy leather shoulder cape that hung from it, prepared to withdraw a diversionary tool the moment his new training partner made the first move against the simulated enemy. Monitamon simply pumps an arm in triumph, satisfied with his improved grasp of rudimentary network reconfiguration, and forms a special hand gesture in order to pull in a few ambient cherry blossoms flitting about and create a swirling twister of pink petals before his chubby body appeared to vanish out of sight, darting off for a surprise attack.

Nero AdessoShino stood calmly in the midnight Japanese setting. It actually felt good to her, even if virtual as she heard Commandramon take point and get ready into position. At first, she thought the enemy target would go after her. It was natural to think so. Many enemies went after the weakest link... but in reality with the range, it gave COmmandramon time to take action too. However, what Shino didn't expect was the enemy to reveal itself and attack Nero of all people. She turned and saw the Samurai Digimon-- Musyamon. From his perch, Commandramon saw it through the scope of his little rifle. From that view-- it relayed right back to Shino's digivice. She held the green device, and it lit up to reveal exactly what Commandramon saw through his scope. Not long did the radar appear-- revealing his data. "Champion Level. That's annoying..." she said, then reached into her pocket, to find her cards. The sight of the giant, sword wielding digimon did concern her... but she knew Vector was working on it. From up in his perch on the nearby awning, Commandramon looked through his scope, lining up the shot. Clearly, Nero was agile and moving to avoid the hit by the annoying enemy-- but he needed a perfect shot. With all his armor, Musyamon would be a tough foe to damage. So he had to wait ... wait for the appropriate moment. "Cmere to little Commandramon..." he sang to himself, his tail twitching as he waited to shoot, like a child waiting for a pet to come to him. GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
Nero remained entirely neutral with his own evaluation of their chosen foe, feeling somewhat thankful he could engage in a target that suited his own capabilities, but also quite aggravated with Monitamon for completely neglecting to inform them of his intentions. Fortunately for both Web Troopers, this particular hologram was a predictable sort, and for a number of reasons that the ninja could think of which, incidentally, had nothing to do with his own profession as a modern-era practitioner of the old shinobi ways. For starters, it was a Musyamon: a Champion-level samurai Digimon that wielded a cursed blade capable of draining the souls of its victims. As a mere holographic simulation, worrying about its deadliest traits never became a concern for Nero. What was more concerning lied solely in its very nature as a creature programmed from the data of warriors from Japanese antiquity: though demonic in its bloodlust, Musyamon still retained some fragment of its fighting spirit and focus on anyone it perceived to be the strongest target, naturally to fuel the power contained within its possessed sword. Nero's face drains itself of all emotion in the blink of an eye, fully aware that he was now the target of this aggressive virtual enemy, and he whips his arm forward from beneath his shoulder cape in a blur of white. From the assassin's hand whizz several thin, black objects that sail through the air in curved trajectories, forcing the Musyamon to defend himself from the onslaught of projectiles being thrown at him with the same degree of expert precision and accuracy that only a seasoned marksman could demonstrate. Unsurprisingly, the Champion-leveled simulation defends against each incoming object with outstanding reflexes, shunting a total of eight shuriken with nothing but swordsmanship alone. Of course, this gives Shino's partner just enough time to get in a clear shot--but he would have to aim between the gaps in Musyamon's armor to really make it effective. Of course, Nero had more where that came from in case he missed. Monitamon, however, was nowhere to be found. What was he doing?
