[attr="class","info_text"] On Digimon : Unity, traits are special skills that your Tamer or solo Digimon may utilize in battle for a number of special effects. Many of these effects would not be possible through ability crafting or cards, and can create some interesting situations in and outside of combat. Remember: you can only choose one at character creation from your appropriate faction. Copy it from here into your character template.
[break][break][break]
[ FIVE FINGER DISCOUNT ][break]
- Whenever you purchase a pack of cards, you may attempt to steal an extra one by rolling a die. If the number is 50 or higher, then you are successful in stealing an additional pack of cards, and obtain two for the price of one. If you fail, then you are caught, and lose the Bytes spent on the pack and do not obtain any packs.
[break][ SLEIGHT OF HAND ][break]
- You don't like to play games by the rules. You may stick up to two additional cards from your collection in your sleeve, raising your deck count to 17 instead of 15. These cards can be changed whenever you'd like, but once they are revealed, you may not change them until the next thread.
[break][ QUICK ESCAPE ][break]
- You carry a couple of smoke bombs on you, just in case. When situations get dire, you may use these as a distraction and leave the thread without interruption. You may not perform any abilities (included those from cards) during this action.
[break][break]
[ PACK WEIGHING ][break]
- You don't like buying junk packs, and check each one out before you purchase them. You may activate this trait when buying a pack of cards. When activated, you will be told if there is a Super Rare card or higher in it before your Bytes are subtracted. You can choose to reroll each purchased pack once, or, before rerolling, back out completely for no cost.
[break][ DATA SEARCH ][break]
- You're equipped with a device that gives you the cutting edge in duels and battles. This device alerts you of the first five cards in your opponent's deck, giving you a bit of preparation against what's to come.
[break][ CONNECTED NETWORK ][break]
- You've agreed to some rather...shady experiments within the Web Troopers. You've had a communication device installed in your head, allowing you to connect with Invicta HQ and speak with someone there at any point in time. If the device senses you're in trouble, you may receive reinforcements in your time of need.
[break][break]
[ PROFESSIONAL ][break]
- You're a professional duelist, and you won't take second-rate prices. With your exclusive sources, you are able to buy packs of cards at a discounted price. Whenever buying a pack, you pay 15% less than normal.
[break][ REVERSE BEATDOWN ][break]
- You don't get beat down by just anybody. When an enemy activates an ability or card that boost their statistics in any way, you may activate this trait. If you do, your Digimon gains a boost equal to the one gained by the enemy for the same duration. You may only use this trait once per thread.
[break][ EMPEROR'S TRADE ][break]
- By trading with Masao Tenno himself, you are able to obtain some powerful cards - some which aren't obtainable in packs. You may activate this trait in the Dark Net, which will trigger a trade with Masao. By offering a Rare or higher card, he will offer one of similar value.
[break][break]
[ EXPERIENCE ][break]
- You've been at it alone for some time now, and have learned a thing or two. When creating a new character with this trait, you gain 5 additional points to distribute amongst your statistics, as well as 10 random additional cards to add to your collection. After your start, this trait has no effect.
[break][ LUCKY DROP ][break]
- You sometimes just have the best luck. At the end of a thread, you may roll a die and tag a member of staff. If the roll is 50 or higher, you will receive a random Rare or higher card of that staff member's choice.
[break][ LONE WOLF ][break]
- You work best alone, being a loner by nature. When you are with no allies and enter into combat, you receive a boost to all of your Digimon partner's statistics equal to two times the number of enemies you are facing.
[break][break]
[ ROLL OUT ][break]
- You know how to survive in the Digital World, and the real world isn't nearly as bad. When things get bad (when you are in critical condition), you may de-digivolve into a Fresh form and escape the thread undetected. Any radars or scanners will not work on you during this effect.
[break][ DATA STORM ][break]
- You know how to use data better than anybody else, being constructed of it. Once per thread, you may unleash your data in a powerful AoE attack. This roots all enemy Digimon for one turn, as well as inflicting low Thunder damage to them.
[break][ DISRUPTION FIELD ][break]
- You have the ability to activate a high-frequency signal that throws electronics off. Using this ability creates an electromagnetic field around you, invisible to the naked eye, that causes disruption in anything that runs off of electricity in any way. The only devices that can be used around you are Digivices.
[break][break]
[ DECK OF SHADOWS ][break]
- You are not an opponent to be messed with, and your opponents will well know the extent of your torments. Every time an enemy swipes a card, they take moderate Dark damage.
[break][ PAIN GAME ][break]
- You take no prisoners, and wish to inflict as much suffering on your enemies as possible. You may turn any battle into a Challenge Mode battle without your opponent's consent.
[break][ DEMON'S LUCK ][break]
- You don't care about rules, and definitely don't believe in luck, for that reason, you've rigged the odds in your favor. Whenever you would roll a die, you may reroll it one time and choose the desired result from the two rolls.[break][break]
