Akio Higashi

Akio was never a man of many words, he keeps quite. He only speaks when he thinks there is something important to add. As such small talk always seemed to elude him as a reason for conversation. Growing up he loved learning and as such he spent his childhood reading often. It seemed he was always reading a different subject. His favorites to read were anything that had to do with math and the sciences. [break][break]

Despite being a competitive skier in high school he was quite fearful. When he was first learning to ski even the bunny hill scared him. While he doesn't show it much now in his early adult hood he often is scared in his head. As such he has to overcome his fear before doing some tasks. His personal motto for dealing with fear is the age old quote "Courage is not the absence of fear, but the assessment that something else is more important than fear."

Akio grew up in Sapporo, his father owned his own brewery and his mother was a housekeeper. His childhood was rather uneventful. He went to the local preparatory school. He took an instant liking to his math and science studies. In his early years he would favor doing his math and science homework and studies over any of his other classes. So much so that sometimes his grades would fall, until his parents harped on him to get working on his other classes as well. Growing up in Sapporo meant that during his winter breaks he would spend almost all of his time on the mountains skiing. As he grew up and entered high school he started taking computer science classes. And they were a fast favorite for him. He also joined his high school's ski team. He was a decent competitor. He won a few metals through out his time in high school. His last year the team qualified for nationals. While they didn't place it was a great ending to his competitive skiing career. After high school he went of to university in Tokyo. He went to major in computer science and programming. During the beginning of his second year he was working on a project for one of his classes. During the course of his research for the project he stumbled his way onto the dark net. It was there that he was first introduced to the world of digimon. At first he just got into the card game. Not knowing about the real digimon. As he got more and more into digimon he found tales of people saying that they were real, and that there were those people who had partnered with one. But as he continued down this path he found rumors of some not so good people. This got him hoping that he could find his own digimon partner and help do something about the rumors. Towards the end of his second year he was walking back to his place when he noticed a bright light that seemed to originate from the side of a wall down a side street. No one else seemed to take notice of this phenomenon. Curious what could be could be causing such a thing he headed down the street. As he got closer the light seemed to dim. When he finally arrived to the source he found a digivice and his own partner digimon, Dracomon. After meeting Dracomon he went out in search of a way to help take on the rumors he had read about. This search led him to the Shinjuku Busters. The summer between his second and third year of university he enrolled in their academy and dropped out of university.
