"Do you want any more, son? Only tea seems so small..."
Chousen shook his head, but soon realized the clearly blind man could not see the motions of his head, instead raising his surprisingly deep voice to answer. "'Tis fine, do not worry. Thank you for the tea. I am sorry I cannot provide you with any currency to compensate." He stared down at the cup, yellow, glowing eyes blinking from time to time as he pondered on what to do with the cup that had been practically thrust into his hands the moment he walked inside the small tea shop. He'd materialized at night in some small alleyway, and the moment he took his first few steps he'd stumbled in through an open back-door and into the empty teashop. The blind owner had decided he'd get some free food and drink, considering his apparent confusion, yet...
"Hohoho, don't you fret, son. I could hear you stumbling and clacking your whole way through this restaurant; drink up, it's on the house. I'll be in the back closing things up if you happen to need me, son." The old man of paler complexion smiled a toothy and somewhat yellow grin before making his way to the back room of the teashop, feeling around with his cane. Chousen stared down at his steaming cup of tea, wondering just what he was supposed to do with it. Drink, obviously, but could the man be trusted? He seemed kind and honourable, yet to drink from a human that he had just met moments after entering this world... Was he a foolish knave?
He grabbed the cup and lifted it up, tilting it down and letting some liquid drip down through the grid of his mask, and to his mouth, gulping the contents down. It was... Good! The tea was good, and not poisoned, thank goodness. He took a few more greedy sips and sighed. He had expected this world to be much more hostile based on what he'd heard from that others that had decided to emerge here, more than fitting for his goals of self improvement, yet he could also get used to this kind of treatment. His yellow eyes closed for a moment as Chousen simply took in the taste of the tea, letting out the rare, content sigh.
His eyes ripped open at the noise of someone trying the entrance door's handle. The teashop had not been closed down just yet, and now someone was trying to enter. Knowing his luck, this one would not be blind... He kept still, staring intently at the door, one hand slowly sliding to his shinai, just in case he'd need to deploy it. Maybe the human incoming would mistake him for a human. Unlikely, but he hoped so; he did not come here to take lives this early.

There was an old man who sold organic tea in this area. Mizuki often visited him to buy some. The doctors agreed it helped with her constitution... some- not a lot but it was a nice beverage she could drink without having to worry about a bad reaction. So, the girl had made it a habit of stopping by this man's tea shop twice or so a month. Today, Mizuki just barely managed to get in before the man closed the doors. He had known Mizuki ever since she was young due to his volunteer work at the hospital, so he let her in without a second thought before continuing to lock up the front. She'd just have to leave out the back. The girl stretched and let out a soft sigh as she walked towards the back of the shop. ”Eh? Where's your tamer?”The girl didn't seem to miss a beat as she eyed the Digimon in the back. An eerie calm covered her face as she spoke, eyeing the small Digimon. The gears in her brain worked quick and fast. The moment she saw the small creature, it was clear it was a Digimon. There was no one else in the shop right now, but the old man had mentioned having a kid back there. She knew he was practically blind, so it was no surprise he didn't notice that the kid wasn't human. ”You're not the old man's are you?” she asked before moving to sit down at a table next to him and put her backpack on the table. This one was not as old and wrinkly as the one that had let him inside, eyes quietly following her until she took a seat, pondering upon if he should grace her question with an answer. She did not seem hostile, and she was apparently aware of his nature as a digimon. Intriguing... Was she one of those he had heard of? The one some digimon bonded with, and created a sort of camaraderie with? Something like that seemed devilish, cowardly, yet oh so effective in the end. He did not need such things, but he could easily see the advantage that came with bonding with a human. This was their land, after all. They knew how to survive here.
"I have no such thing as a tamer, human. I came here alone, for my own goals." The cup of tea is lifted and soon after tilted once more, pouring some more of the liquid down into his darkened gullet, letting out a relaxed sigh. A sign of weakness to some, yet he truly suspected if this girl knew much of combat, or symbolical signs of submitting unto another. He knew that doubting others and underestimating them brought doom upon many, yet he counted himself worthy of one underestimation in his life. "The old man is a kind one, but not one I know nor desire to bond with. This tea is his offering to me, for reasons unknown... You humans believe in hospitality however, aye? Perhaps 'tis the reason."
His musing was, for the most part, aimed at himself rather than her, merely vocalizing it due to the presence of another. He glanced at her soon after, however. "Since you know of what I am, I presume you are bound to another of my kin? I have heard of such contracts taking place. An intriguing tradition, yet not one I think worthy of the hassle in the end. Independence is one of the greatest gifts bound upon us as beings, be it digital or flesh." Another sip followed, quietly musing before then adding some more to his sentence. "Removing it takes our soul away from us. A moral dilemma, is it not? Or am I merely overthinking? What do you think?" What a... Random philosophical question to pose at a stranger.Mizuki Haruka

After placing her book bag on the table, the girl quietly fished out a thick book with an interesting design on the sides. Then, the girl pulled out a small hand held gaming system and began to load up a game. The old man usually took a while to close, and then he would go upstairs to find the tea for her. She'd be here for a while. Her eyes only occasionally shifted back to the digimon as he spoke. She would reply rather bluntly to his words. ”I see. Well, do you have anywhere to stay?” she asked while fiddling with the game. ”Whatever your goals are, they can't be easy to handle alone. So, I respect you for deciding to do that.” Her eyes shifted up as he mentioned how kind the old man was. Mizuki nodded in agreement. ”Yeah, the old man's pretty nice... his kindness is exemplary among humans.”Mizuki lowered her game as he started off on what was akin to a small speech about 'being bond' and the tradition. When he mentioned being partnered up 'taking his soul away', she let out a soft snerk. Not because she thought anything special about that sentiment, but because of who was on her table. The circular design on the book would open to reveal an eye. The book hopped up to glare at the Kotemon before speaking in a dignified voice. ”Young man, I'll have you know I very much do have a soul!” His eye narrowed while glancing at him. ”You would do your best to avoid being out so blatantly in the human world!”MADE BY ★MEULK [newclass=.mmk1]width:350px;background-color:#111111;font-family:verdana;font-size:9pt;text-align:justify;color:#555555;border-left:#151515 solid 30px;padding:60px;[/newclass][newclass=.mmk1 b]font-family:Montserrat;color:#dd6b6f;[/newclass][newclass=.mmk1 a]font-family:calibri;font-size:9pt;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass][newclass=.mmk1 i]font-family:Montserrat;color:#dd8b6b;[/newclass]

"Exemplary among humans, I see... So 'tis not the norm, but something many do still wish to reach towards. I see. I suppose humans have values similar to ours, then. I am a tad bit uneducated about your kind. Many in my world did not have a high opinion of you, and thus did not bother to do much research. I suppose I am of the same cast, forged and built upon much of the same lessons taught by them. Such a thing is not very polite of me, I realize... Thus, I offer my deepest apologies. 'Tis simply hard to believe that humans could have such virtues as their goals. The impression one gets can be oh-so-damning and different from reality.
What a monologue. He coughed and took another sip of his tea before continuing. "I arrived mere moments ago, truth be told. I do not know where I would be staying, but 'tis my plan to stay as long as possible in search of my fulfillment. Perhaps I will stick around to these parts. The old man seems kind, I am sure he would not mind me locating myself somewhere near this tea shop... Or perhaps even inside of it, if I offer some form of compensation in return to him. 'Tis a thought." An abode was something he had not concerned himself with until he appeared in this world. A grave mistake, yet easily fixed. In the worst case scenario he could sleep in a trash can during the day and travel around at night. It'd be better than nothing.
His eyes blinked once when the book hopped up and spoke, staring down at him with it's eye. For a moment his hand was once more reaching for the shinai on his back, only to lower it and bow his head, chuckling quietly. "So you are the one bound unto her, are you? I see. I meant no disrespect unto you, ease yourself. I suppose my thoughts were presented in a mildly insulting manner. Such was not my intent, but I offer my customary apologies." His head was lifted, staring at the other. Would this one be the start of his path? No, not yet at the very least. Attacking out of the blue would be dishonorable and alienate him from the first humans he had met. Act polite for now. "I plan to keep my guard the moment I move on from this place, rest easy... Your form makes it easy however, no? You look like an ordinary book, like those ones on the shelves. How long have you been here?"Mizuki Haruka

Mizuki glanced down to her game as the small digimon spoke, clearly only paying half attention to the rant he was going off on. She was here for tea, the digimon was only an added bonus. If one could call the strange little thing a bonus. ”That sounds about right,” she hummed while tapping away at her handheld game. Giles' eye narrowed as the digimon spoke before letting out a sigh. ”Mizuki is my partner... yes,” he spoke. Mizuki glanced up as the Digimon spoke of not intending to insult them. She tilted her head before clicking her tongue in distaste. ”Whatever your intent was, the outcome is what matters in the end. Remember that. Apologies can't fix what carelessness breaks.””Mizuki is harsh, but yes, you need to be careful. Your form is more difficult than mine to hide. There are humans who hunt rogue digimon- and even those partnered up. There are other digimon who do so as well. The human world is dangerous young one.”MADE BY ★MEULK [newclass=.mmk1]width:350px;background-color:#111111;font-family:verdana;font-size:9pt;text-align:justify;color:#555555;border-left:#151515 solid 30px;padding:60px;[/newclass][newclass=.mmk1 b]font-family:Montserrat;color:#dd6b6f;[/newclass][newclass=.mmk1 a]font-family:calibri;font-size:9pt;text-transform:uppercase;[/newclass][newclass=.mmk1 i]font-family:Montserrat;color:#dd8b6b;[/newclass]

There's some quiet chuckling that comes from Chousen as his head is shaken. "I know that this place is dangerous. 'Tis why I am here, to face that danger and emerge stronger thanks to it. More and more of our kind are coming, And that means more and more chances unto me to better myself through combat. I came here to kill." A pause. That might be the wrong way to state his goal, even if it happens to be truthful. "... Honourably, that is. You know how it is, do you not? You're just like me. You know consuming the data of others is simply a part of our nature."
He stares at Giles for a while, feeling a tension building within his spine. He tried his best to ignore it, that itch to attack before the other would, but he calmed himself down with the simple facts: this girl, she seemed sickly. Kind, and sickly... Not the type to challenge one into a duel, and neither would this book, as long as he simply kept himself calm and nonhostile. He had nothing against the idea of a scrap, of course, but to ruin such a nice tea shop would be a horrid affair, especially right after merging. He should avoid combat until he figures out just where he should rest and spend his time whenever he was not exploring and figuring out how to strengthen himself.
"Nevertheless..." He broke the silence he had built. "I appreciate your advice, And will keep it near my heart to the best of my abilities. 'Tis good to know that the concept of honor is well advocated among those that choose to bound themselves unto others. Have you encountered many others such as yourselves, then? 'Tis a large trend, I hear, so I suppose it'll be much more common to see, rather than the lone traveler that I am."Mizuki Haruka

This Digimon talked a lot. Mizuki yawned as he went off on his latest monologue. Her eyes fluttered across the screen of her game. There was a difficult choice coming up. Her brows furrowed in mild distress. Did she go with the templar vampire or the rebel witch? The vampire had a good boy noble charm... like a prince, but the witch had this bad boy look with tight leather and a collar... As his tamer seemed to distressed by the choice in the game to respond, Giles was left to interact with the Kotemon. ”It may be a part of our life, however, be careful. We do not know if we'll return to egg form in the human world- everything here isn't data. If you die, that may be it,” he warned with a narrowed eye. ”Mizuki and I have yet to encounter too many other Digimon. We don't go looking for trouble if we can help it.”In the background, his fragile looking tamer was glaring and practically growling at her game as she spammed buttons. A quick time event. Giles glanced over towards her, clearly genuinely concerned for her. "I am aware of the chance that death may come unto me here with far more permanence than of the death one could experience back home. I am prepared for such a fact, and in many ways, I find it far more... Fulfilling, a thought. It fits in with the beliefs I hold in regards to death, life, and the goals we all hold within. A true end, as compared to being simply reborn with data anew. Perhaps such is a romantic view, but one I will hold onto dearly all the same. Besides, I doubt the end will come: I am more than prepared to fight for my life."
His shinai was lifted just a tad to send the message home, eyes focusing once more on the girl. What was she doing? His curiosity was raised enough to stand himself up, leaving his cup of tea on the table as he hopped down from his seat and waddled over to her, curiously staring at the game. What is this? He had never had experiences with video games, despite coming from the digital world. Blame his isolation and the curiously feudal nature of the little slice of data he'd been living on. He watched in silence, gauging from her reactions that speaking up too much would probably frustrate her more, and with her frame and apparent nature... Well, he wouldn't wish to cause her harm by stressing her out too much. What an excellent defensive mechanism. Even a warrior such as himself could not bring himself to do anything drastic.
