Midnight. It was ironically probably the safest time if any for any tamers to be going out and about with their Digimon since there were so few people out and about otherwise. Less chances to potentially screw up when having to take care of a Digimon. Even then, Haru LOVED being out at night anyway. In the less populated parts of Shibuya, there was a somewhat mystifying calm that the night brought. For Haru, she was spending this night out at one of the local parks, a large towel spread out on the grass that she and her partner were laying on. Her collection of cards was also laid out, the girl attempting to decipher just what each could do or how it could favor them. Considering how her Digivice could turn these simple pieces of cardboard into powerful upgrades or tools in battle, it was worth figuring something out with them But deep down, Haru just also liked looking at the pretty pictures on the cards. "Do you like this one, Tawna? Garudamon is supposed to be an Ultimate level, so it's probably a very strong card?" The girl would ask the white-dog Digimon, holding out her copy of Wind Blade to show the Plotmon. "Or what about this one? It's got a picture of you on it Tawna!" She'd say, swapping it for the Puppy Howling card of hers. Tawna on the otherhand just seemed to be rather ambivalent to the cards the girl held, shrugging slightly. Haru seemed to for a moment pout, puffing her face somewhat adorably. "You uh... kinda don't care do you?"Appropriately, the Vaccine attribute nodded her head. "Kinda nope.

Clank, clank, clank. The kendo gear Chousen was wearing quietly clicked and clanked against him as he walked through the night-laced streets, glowing eyes staring forwards as his shinai had been drawn, resting against his left shoulder for now as he swagger staggered his way through the roads and alleys in search of an opponent. For all the talk of Digimon coming to this world of humans, he hadn't met many sans that one girl and her book. Perhaps he had been lied to?! A convenient trick, a way to trick him away from his comfort zone and unto a world of no chance to improve, a world where he would be locked upon as his enemies, numerous for certain, could fester and train for his inevitable and victorious return... Woe.
His worries led him to a park, his feet tamping against the soft mold as he climbed up a children's slide, staring out into the distance in his worry and narry. Had this been a clever ploy, something to trick him far, far away from his original goal? Perhaps some cruel power far above his understanding was tricking him, preparing to slay him just as his master had been slayed before him. Such a thought elicited a form of profound sadness inside of him, if only for a moment before coming to a brand new conclusion: he was worrying over nothing. Take things as they come, and remember: you always have a chance to improve yourself, even if foes do not come to you.
Blissfully unaware of his nightly surroundings and the pair laying down just a few feet away from him, Chousen crossed his legs and laid his shinai to rest on top, yellow eyes closing as he took to meditation. He had hours before the earliest of the humans would rise to tend to their duties, he thought, so he would take this moment to train his mind and take in the nightly sounds of the city. The sweet blowing of the wind, the sound of crickets somewhere deeper in the park, the sound of a car driving by somewhere far away, yet close enough to be heard... Mental bliss could be achieved even in the most urban of environments, and such was true of this moment as well.
Frankly, he just looked hilarious in his zen pose, but at least he was enjoying himself.Haru Toriya

[attr="class","trying"] [attr="class","we1"] [attr="class","lost1"]let us play a game [attr="class","rise"] [attr="class","dying1"] [attr="class","mouths1"]Half-curled up on a nearby bench, Yun Yoshimasa groans. His legs ache and throb with fatigue, having been practically chased all over Shibuya by a man practically twice his size and bulk and fueled by raw, uncut hatred. If it weren't for Zubamon, he wouldn't be here now, complaining to himself about how badly his body hurts. Still, it was nice to take a break from the rumor-chasing every now and then. As much as he enjoyed taking on challenges and attracting danger at every possible turn, there comes a point in time where a man just needs to sit back, regain his perspective on things, and settle down to play a good game of cards. As fortune would have it, quite a few people were out for that express reason. It helped that the Shinjuku outskirts were home to quite the enclave of card players. It was the only kind of environment Yun truly felt at home in. Maybe if his legs stopped barking at him, he could find someone to play a match or two with... 1: FRESH MILK - Summons forth a bottle of fresh milk for one target Digimon to drink. When consumed, it raises that target's Strength by 2 for a duration of 3 turns. 2: BRAIN BOOSTER - Increases the size of one Digimon's brain by a slight amount. Raises the target's Intellect by 2 for a duration of 3 turns. 3: COOLING AGENT - Cures the Digimon of Burn. If used by the user while under Freeze or Chill, they will be inflicted with the status for an additional turn. 4: HYPER WING - Grants the Digimon a pair of wings for 3 turns, granting them the ability of flight. 5: FEATHER FALL - Grants the Digimon a resistance to fall damage for 3 turns, allowing them to easily keep their footing even from long drops. 6: WETLANDS - Soaks the entire battlefield in a swamp of ankle-high water, up to a maximum diameter of 120ft, and elevates the humidity accordingly. Fire attacks lose a full damage grade in effectiveness and Burn status cannot be inflicted as long as this card remains active, but Thunder attacks gain an additional low chance of inflicting Stun. The water dries away after 5 turns. 7: EXPANSION - Expands the Digimon's body to ten times its original size. While offering increased occupancy of space, it does not affect their actual physical strength. Has a duration of 3 turns. 8: ELEMENT CHAMELEON - Shifts a single resist/weakness/null of a target Digimon to a chosen affinity (except Absolute). Lasts for 5 turns. 9: NEEDLE SPRAY - Togemon's signature attack. The user sends out a torrent spray of needles in a cone at the target direction, damaging everything in its path for low Wood damage. 10: ELECTRO SHOCKER - Kabuterimon's signature attack. The user attacks by sending out a giant ball of plasma to electrocute the foe. Inflicts moderate Thunder damage and has a moderate chance to Stun the foe for 1 turn. 11: PALMON S - Summons one Palmon that knows Root Breaker (deals low Wood damage to one target) for 2 turns. The Digimon fades away at the end of the duration. 12: GOLIATH - The Digimon is imbued with the strength of an enormous monster for 3 turns, increasing their size by five times in the process. Half of the Digimon's Defense statistic is added to their Strength for the duration. 13: THOR'S HAMMER - Zudomon's signature attack. Unleash the mighty Mjolnir, slamming down the hammer causes an area-of-effect lightning shockwave around the point of impact, extending just beyond melee range. Deals moderate Thunder damage. 14: DRAMON KILLER W - The user equips WarGreymon's Dramon Killer gauntlets. All Digimon with the "-dramon" suffix in their name will take doubled damage from all attacks that come into physical contact. This stacks with weaknesses. Has a 3 turn duration. Both Digimon and humans can wield this weapon, but humans require an Athletics score of 15 or above.

Toshiro didn't often go out of his home without reason, but ever since that giant beetle had forced itself into his life, he had been going out way more often, with or without its incessant prompting. He just needed a break from the overbearing insect, a moment of peace, silence and calm in his now loud, stressful life.
He didn't really fancy walking in the dead of the night alone and defenseless, but he figured if he got mugged and stabbed then at least he wouldn't have to go back to the loud Beetle.
He didn't look particularly impressive that night. Dressed in a hoodie and a shirt that had seen better days, basketball shorts that were too big a pair of fluffy, pink slippers that were intended for the winter, every step he took in public was a crime to fashion everywhere.
The fanny pack around his waist was just the cherry on top.
He stumbled across the park like a drunken man, his legs wobbly and seemingly unable to remember how to walk. He had been laying in bed for nearly 2 days before trying to escape the bug, and he was paying for it now.
One misstep and he found himself hurtling towards the grass before he could even process what was happening. His face soundly face-planted into the dirt, a grunt escaping his lips as he nearly swallowed grass.

As the girl for the most part kept to herself, her partner on the other hand seemed to start to fidget. They were growing anxious as it felt like a presence was approaching the park. Or was it two? Three? Humans were somewhat hard to differentiate from just other smells in the air due to how densely populated the human world was, but it made something like a Digimon stand out like a sore thumb. Sure enough, the culprit soon approached... a small reptilian Digimon garbed in kendo gear. It was then that the Plotmon began to glare towards the Kotemon, she backing slightly away from the creature that had just a few yards away began to sit down and meditate to himself. Tawna still did not trust many Digimon at all, let alone one that was without a human. Haru on the other hand... well, to put it lightly was still oblivious to the newcomer's presence. Only when Tawna moved up a bit closer to Haru did her attention get drawn to the new Digimon and away from her collection of cards. "...?" The girl seemed to gasp silently to herself, she for a moment glancing back to her partner. While Tawna had a rather defensive and unsure look on her face, looking back at this new Digimon... they didn't exactly look aggressive enough that they were something to worry about. If anything, they only piqued the girl's curiosity. While she has seen tamers with partner Digimon around, she has not really seen a Digimon that didn't have a human chaperoning them... at least one that didn't try to like kill them. Turning herself around, she whistled to the unknown Digimon, hoping to perhaps garner their attention. Reaching inner peace at a place like this was easy... At least, until a sharp whistle managed to break his concentration in totality, tail perking up a bit as he stood on the slide and looked around in search of the source of said noise, hand resting upon his shinai. A digimon and a human, just like that girl from before. This was becoming a common trend, then? Perhaps he was to face this one in battle. At least, her digimon partner did not seem very trusting of him, and in fact, seemed a little rattled! Preparing to attack, wasn't it? Maybe they had friends nearby as well, preparing to attack him at a moment's notice! He had to act.
"Announcing your presence before pouncing unto me like a vile beast... Truly, humanity's honor does not cease to impress me in all the correct and oft positive ways! Your honor has earned you my name, before thy charge... 'Tis I, the gr--!"
A sudden slip and a stumble forwards causes him to slide down the slide, letting out a little yelp as he's forced to slide and roll against the ground, just barely managing to bounce himself onto his feet for a... Somewhat stylish landing. It's nothing he'd get points over, but at least he did not totally embarrass himself, yellow eyes gaining a redder hue for a moment before returning to normal, shinai lifted into a ready, yet defensive stance. "Er-hem... I was about to say! 'Tis I, the great wandering ronin, Chousen! Are thy sure thy wish to face me? Know this; if thy attack, I will defend myself 'till you are dead! Such is the law of evolution that has been thrust onto us!"
His stance is kept as he slowly shuffles from side to side. Despite the comedic look of his gear on his body, he does show some clear expert swordsmanship in his movements, voice loud enough to attract anyone nearby. If they cared about the sounds of some raving, surprisingly deep sounding lizard. "Will you come?! 'Tis understandable if you do not... Facing the wrong opponent at the wrong time might prove to be deadly."

[attr="class","trying"] [attr="class","we1"] [attr="class","lost1"]let us play a game [attr="class","rise"] [attr="class","dying1"] [attr="class","mouths1"]Yun sighs, feeling somewhat better now that his legs have been given a chance to regain their bearings. Carefully, he sits up into an erect position, brushing his leather jacket free of any debris that clung to the park bench. Apart from the chirping of crickets and the occasional honk of a car's horn, Shinjuku was relatively peaceful tonight. Well, for a city that never actually slept, anyway, as Yun could determine by the abundance of people strolling about. This picturesque scene would be momentarily disturbed by the sound of boisterous shouting off in the distance, provoking one of Yun's eyebrows to raise itself upward in curiosity. Who was causing a racket at this hour of the night? Yun grunts, then rises to his feet, dusting his pants free of more foreign chips and bits so that he could investigate the source of the commotion. It wasn't too far from where he sat, just a couple dozen paces away, near an open clearing where a younger girl stood, as well as a-- Digimon? From the looks of it, a Rookie, though it was also easy to tell from the oversized kendo armor it wore. And it spoke in a rather antiquated way, like it had traveled through time from the medieval ages. Despite the creature's bold, fiery proclamations of seeking to engage the girl in mortal combat, he didn't seem to be achieving the effect he was looking for. But where did it come from? More importantly, why was it here, declaring challenges to random strangers? " Remain on standby for now," Yun speaks below his breath, seemingly to nobody. " Make sure he's not following us." A rustle in the leaves of a nearby tree signaled Zubamon's departure to secure the perimeter. For now, he kept his distance between himself and the two engaged in conversation, making sure to let off a friendly wave in the event their attentions were to shift. 1: FRESH MILK - Summons forth a bottle of fresh milk for one target Digimon to drink. The taste of dirt was rather awful, in his humble opinion.
Toshiro very slowly picked himself up, spitting grass with an expression of mild disgust in his features. His ears could pick up a commotion close by. Somebody was shouting, though he couldn't quite pick up what was being said. Was somebody getting mugged?
Maybe he should turn back the way he came. 'And go back to the bug. As. If.' He would rather get mugged than have to deal with the giant Beetle. Heck, maybe the thief could take the digigizmo thing off his hands. Would the Beetle follow whoever got it? He could only hope.
Stumbling towards the sound of the screams, he found himself cursing under his breath at the scene he stumbled upon. "Oh, Come on."
It was a lizard. 'Kotemon' his brain supplied, memories of the digimon anime surfacing. He... could not recognize the other one besides the girl with... Goggles.
"I sure hope she's doing it ironically." He commented to himself, moving his gaze from the duo to... yet another incredibly interesting sight. "I wonder how much hair gel..." He was actually kinda jealous... how much did it cost to keep a hairdo that badass?
He found himself ignoring the Kotemon and the girl, walking towards the other young man in the scene with both hands lazily in his old hoodie's pockets. His puffy slippers made a slight ripping noise as he dragged his feet towards the young man. There was no digimon with him either. Was he just an unlucky by stander?
"Yo. Lovely night for a walk, ain't it?" He started, finding himself yawning. Right, it was very late, wasn't it? His body already wanted him to go to sleep. He lazily gestured with his neck towards the other two. "What exactly's going on over there? Looks like a bunch of cosplayers. I thought the Digimon anime craze died a bunch of years back."

Haru could not help but actually jump up a bit in reaction to the kendo armor-wearing Digimon's response. Go figure that they would be just like Tawna it seems... just up and rearing to start a brawl. Was this really that common in Digimon? Preferably, she'd have rather not start a fight out here... especially with possibly people around. Quickly, the girl tried to correct the gutsy (albeit kinda adorable) Digion's attempt at intimidation. "Uhhh, w-wait that's not what I was trying to sugg-""We accept your challenge.""No we don't!" The girl would immediately try to correct her partner before anything could get ugly... Especially now that that some people were starting to show up. And at first glance, not the kind of people that have Digimon with them. "Uhh..." The girl would for a moment utter, caught in between a rock and hard place. She quietly reminded herself that normal people weren't exactly allowed to showoff Digimon to people who weren't already in the know. As best as she could, she tried to play along with the man with the blonde hair (and fanny pack) and the at least friendly-looking one with the TOTALLY RAD hairdo. "Y-yeah! Just uh... got back from a Digimon convention! We're just suuuuper into playing in-character!""No we didn't." Once more, Tawna would bluntly state, failing to get just what her tamer was trying to do here. Subtle-ty was... not Tawna's strong point. Appropriately enough, Haru didn't take that little slip-up well. "Have you EVER heard of improv?!" She'd yell at the Rookie level, an exaggerated look of exasperation on her face. The steely glare in his yellow eyes faded away slowly as the digimon and her partner seemingly had a... Vocal disagreement on if they wished to challenge him or not. He did not lower his stance, but he seemed to gain a little more hesitancy to his movements, not charging in right away, instead trying to figure out what he was supposed to do. "Do you two need a moment to figure out thy differences? I have time, please do not let me be much of a hassle... As long as thy come unto a satisfying agreement between the two of you, I shall be content."Politeness was key in a fair, honourable, and most of all satisfying battle.
Or, at least, such thoughts plagued his mind until the girl shouted out louder, as if adding onto something someone had said. He slowly turned his head to stare behind himself, and... Ah! More people! A man with a hairdo that looked like it could kill, and someone with a hairdo that was much less impressive! That was a whole three people in total, with a digimon to boot, against him A devilish plan by the would-be tamer and her partner to ensnare him, perhaps? Or, well, not him in specific, but any digimon they would encounter while out here at night! 'Tis the time most Digimon were out, at least. A clever ploy, but he was more than prepared.
"Thy are rather clever, I must admit... But, you are a fool if thy would think that being ensnared by three people would mean my defeat! Three against one simply makes the odds a tad fairer unto you and the others, even if the odds are still slightly unto MY favor!" Chousen slowly backed off as he spoke in his bold, and somewhat pompous tone. He knew that he could not handle three people alone, but his goals were to intimidate, and hopefully scare them off, backing off in his defensive position. He needed to make use of the terrain somehow... Ah, a jungle gym. He positions himself near it, shinai raised and ready to strike in case he is attacked.Haru Toriya Yun Yoshimasa Toshiro Emiya

[attr="class","trying"] [attr="class","we1"] [attr="class","lost1"]let us play a game [attr="class","rise"] [attr="class","dying1"] [attr="class","mouths1"]Though it appeared that Yun was without a Digimon of his own, he was neither inept nor foolish to pretend he wasn't a witness to the rather comical scene that unfolded: the girl was deceiving absolutely nobody with her struggle to keep the small, puppy-shaped creature at her side from speaking its thoughts — or in general, for that matter. But it seemed that the strangely deep-voiced Kotemon certainly didn't mind the additional company, but had gone entirely out of his way to assume that Yun and the blond boy in puffy slippers standing next to him were accomplices to the girl in the goggles. " To answer your earlier question," Yun piped up, realizing he had failed to address the newcomer in his pajamas. " It's a lot nicer than it's been." He smiles knowingly at the deliberate ambiguity of his response; none here knew of what he had to deal with just recently. With that said, Yun Yoshimasa takes long, confident strides forward as he slowly removes his jacket to accommodate for his sweat-drenched skin, letting out a thankful sigh upon tasting Shinjuku's cool night breeze. He closes distance with the goggle-wearing Tamer and the boisterous Kotemon, bowing his vastly pointy head ever-so-slightly in acknowledgement of the general rules of social formality. " Forgive us, uh..." Yun hesitated, uncertain if the Digimon had a name. " Kotemon?" Eh, close enough. He continues without skipping a beat, " I don't intend to spoil your spirit for combat, but I'm fairly certain that none of us are looking to do battle with you tonight." He takes the occasional glance at his two new acquaintances, then returns an expression of solemn sincerity to the Rookie in oversized kendo gear. " If anything, your shouting drew all of our attentions." 1: FRESH MILK - Summons forth a bottle of fresh milk for one target Digimon to drink.

Toshiro nearly jumped when the girl's voice suddenly rose to reach him and the guy with the awesome hairdo. He hadn't even thought they had been noticed. That said, he felt a little pity for the brunette. Her digimon clearly had no intentions of playing.
"Kids sure are good at staying in character these days, huh?" He said to his awesome hairdo fellow bystander, casually gauging the man's reaction to the scene. He didn't seem too put off; had he taken the cosplay bait?"Wonder how a kid that fits in a costume that small is able to talk, though."
After giving him a strangely cryptic answer, awesome hairdo dude proceeded to stomp all over any possibility of being a simple bystander.
Toshiro was beginning to wonder if this was his life now. A digimon suddenly fell into his life and now he would meet them everywhere he went? Or had digimon always been this common and he hadn't noticed from the comfort of his bedroom?
Well, he was here and the hostilities seemed like they would be wrapped up. He approached the girl and dog duo while the awesome hairdo guy talked down the Kotemon, crouching by the dog.
"How do you fit a kid old enough to talk in this?" He wondered outloud, almost snorting to himself. He didn't even know why he was even bothering with keeping these charades.
Well, at least it was amusing.

At first, Haru was worried to death that she had blown their cover completely... what with this lil' guy not seeming to get the hint that they weren't meaning to try and start a fight and some passerby people. However, the guy with the absolutely funky hair however seemed to be more... just amused by this set of circumstances. Fortunately, it seemed that he was actually in the know about what Digimon were if they were able to figure that she was just trying stop this mess from escalating. There was the other guy though whom seemed to still think this was all just a bunch of cosplay stuff, even assuming that Tawna was just a kid in a costume. She honestly had no real idea how to answer a question like that without giving away the whole secret about Tawna NOT being an actual dog or some lil kid in a costume. "Umm, a lot of hard work and determination?"Tawna on the otherhand seemed relatively unamused, she instead speaking exactly what was on her mind at the time, specifically about the man with the fanny pack. "I think this human is fooling with us. He has that faint scent of having been near a Digimon before." She'd comment before scrunching up her face in disgust. "He also smells like trash."For a moment, Haru was unsure how else to continue the conversation then if it turned out that everyone here wasn't actually oblivious to Digimon. If that was the case... well, that was a relief frankly. "So uh... is everyone here actually in the know about this stuff?" She'd idly ask, at least happy to see things starting to calm down it seemed. "But yeah, that guy is right. We're not here to fight, but you gotta be careful! Not every human is supposed to actually know about Digimon." She'd add in to the little conversation directed towards the Kotemon. The man with the weaponized hair and the girl with the cap both called out and expounded that they had no thirst for battle with him, with the third person talking to... The dog. What an odd fellow, being able to stay so calm in such an obvious life-or-death situation. His back was pressed against the jungle gym as he listened to them both, shinai still raised in that defensive stance as his yellow orb-like eyes squinted down in thought. Should he trust these humans? Four against one was a battle that he could not win, but perhaps, just perhaps, they were speaking the truth. His options were considered for a moment until his shinai was lowered, the tip tapping against the ground in front of the jungle gym. Yet, he did not move.
"Fie... I know that most humans do not know about us. 'Tis why I only come out at night, seeking both meditation and a fight. 'Tis why most of us are here, no? At least, that's what I'd presume. Chousen shoots a glance towards Tawna, who seemed more focused on insulting the blonde than him at this point. "'Tis in our nature, after all." Then again, who knew with the digimon that had bound themselves to humans. They were often such a varied lot. Some simply seeked security, while others... Their motivations were a mystery that he almost longed to solve, but now was not the time to ask deeply philosophical questions about why they were here. He could still be in danger for all he knew.
And that reflected within his eyes, quickly jumping from person to person. While his weapon had been lowered, it was clear that Chousen had not chosen to trust this supposedly random group fully yet, as if waiting to see if he'd be betrayed... Also, he might've felt just a little bit awkward and unsure of how to continue the conversation that was starting to bubble abound, so he simply kept quiet and kept his shinai ready, occasionally tamping the tip against the ground in a slow rhythm, waiting to see how the affairs around him would come to evolve.Yun Yoshimasa Haru Toriya Toshiro Emiya

[attr="class","trying"] [attr="class","we1"] [attr="class","lost1"]let us play a game [attr="class","rise"] [attr="class","dying1"] [attr="class","mouths1"]The girl's sense of dire urgency for the Kotemon's displays of theatricality do not go ignored by the latter, yet he philosophically dismisses her statement with the assumption that she, the blond boy in slippers (who kept himself entertained with Goggle Girl's Digimon partner), and Yun were all here specifically just to fight, glancing at the Salamon as if to reinforce his point. The scene was already devolving into something straight out of a kindergarten classroom: only the young man in his pajamas appeared to be the odd one out, although the puppy-like creature suggested rather bluntly that he, too, possibly came into contact with a Digimon at some point, while the Salamon's controller and the Kotemon were attempting to reach a mutual understanding of one another's intentions, leaving Yun--the only actual adult on the scene in terms of age--unsure of exactly how he wound up here in the first place. Unwilling to further reinforce the Rookie's skepticism of the growing crowd's intentions, Yun glances around the edges of the park, and notices Zubamon's unmistakable glimmer emanating from a maple tree several dozen meters away. He beckons the Digimon by raising his hand up and has his fingers produce a sharp click. Within several seconds, the armored dragon skillfully bounds his way across the park in just a few well-timed leaps, quietly landing right beside his master with his glittering gold body fully poised and erect, a visual cue that he was not here to battle as well. Zubamon's satin-like cape gently flows behind himself, kissed by Shinjuku's breeze. " Allow me to reinforce my earlier decision to abstain from combat," Yun says, gesturing to Zubamon, who doesn't flinch or blink in the slightest. " This is Zubamon, my partner. Say hi to everyone." The dragon merely glances at the ground, then at his Tamer as if he were demanding context. " It's to avoid mass confusion." One could almost hear the gold-plated dragon let out an echoed, metallic snort. The duelist pauses for a moment, sighing in exasperation. " Forgive me, everyone, he's usually very well-mannered." 1: FRESH MILK - Summons forth a bottle of fresh milk for one target Digimon to drink.
