Hyde holds no respect for authority for the sake of authority. If you want his respect, earn it dammit. He'll insult anyone he comes across, though if he does like you, he'll insult you only slightly less, and always in an endearing manner. As one would expect by now, Hyde is a total drunk, loving boozing up and partying. Though he knows to tone it down during the day, expect him to get wild and crazy (ie; fun) when the sun goes down. Any tamer should also watch out, as it's during this time he and his partner get to work.

Many would compare Nicholas Hyde to that of an internet troll. The man just loves stirring up trouble and flying in the face of authority, not to mention can be downright insufferable. However, the key difference between him and an internet troll is that he's not afraid to get out there. Screw hiding, if people have issues with what Hyde does, they can say it to his face. He's not afraid to get into a fight. That being said, while he can be reckless in his actions, he's no idiot. He knows how to plan ahead, and can be pretty resourceful. He's surprisingly crafty for a drunk, and is good at thinking on his feet.[break][break]

Things got really interesting when he met his partner Grimes. He had been at his computer one night when he got a strange email. Clicking it caused his computer to glow brightly, and all of a sudden there was a Solarmon in his lap, along with a digivice. Despite the insanity of the situation, Hyde managed to pick up on everything pretty quick, learning about the various factions, (with the obvious exception of HYPNOS and The Family). However, rather than join any of them, Gerard decided to strike out on his own, and to keep things interesting started antagonizing the various factions, developing a reputation in digimon circles as a real life internet troll. Granted, this has resulted in some issues for him, such as one incident costing him his left eye, but in the end he doesn't regret his choices.

There's not really a lot one can say about Nicholas Hyde before he became a tamer. Really because, as far as he's concerned, his life really didn't become interesting until AFTER he became a tamer. Born in England, Nicholas was always a bit of a trouble maker, especially in school. As such, when he was selected for a foreign exchange program in Japan, his school couldn't wait to be rid of him. Nicholas fell in love with the country, and after he graduated, worked on getting his visa to move over there.
