Busting Through - Shinjuku Buster's Welcome! (OPEN)

Akio Higashi Ayumi Mihashi

Obito was busy looking over the lobby till he heard the familiar voice. He soon spotted Akio and waved back at him. With Akio in sight, Panthermon lowered his invisibility as he passed the desk-- out of sight of the receptionist. Seemingly shy, Obito kept his gaze down for a moment, unsure what was going to happen. "I guess so... Still not super sure," He explained, "I mean, this isn't like a gang or anything, right?" he asked.

Obito knew one thing, was that he couldn't do it on his own. Even with Panthermon, his trusted companion, there were dangers being a lone tamer, especially when there were devious trainers about. He ran into too many narrow scrapes to allow himself to let things go. He needed help and the support of others. The fact he found Akio to be helpful, made it worth wild to take him up on his offer. To join the Shinjuku Busters.

Panthermon kept quiet but his gaze was firm. He too knew it was a good deal to join them, and urged Obito to do it. In fact, the cat respected Akio-- except when he accidentally mistook him for an evil digimon.

"So..." Obito said as he looked around the lobby," What's going on here? I mean is this the headquarters? WHere do we go from here?"

He held on to his digivice in his pocket, a little nervous about if there was any kind of initiation or interview before he would be able to be welcomed in.

Akio Higashi Ayumi Mihashi

Thinking back, Obito remembered the mention of Nightmare-- back when he ran into Akio in the park, before he knew he was even a good guy. Though nervous, the term 'purify' didn't sit well with Obito, and that raised another question. Panthermon, on the other hand, was as chilled as could be. It made his partner wonder if the cat was even listening. "Yeah I remember that being said one time... Why was that?"

It was then that Akio had started moving forward. Lost in thought, he realized he had to keep up and caught up to Akio by the elevators. Panthermon followed, his eyes on Aiko as he talked.

When Aiko mentioned about the building itself, Obito seemed genuinely surprised as he waited at the bank of elevators. "Wait a minute, " he exclaimed. "You're telling me the entire building is a base of operations for tamers?" The ding of a vacant elevator sounded and the doors opened up before them. "If that's true... does someone fund all of this?" he gestured to the building.

He was baffled, shocked to know not only did this group congregated here-- but had such prosperous resources as well. "But also... what do you mean by 'purifying', cause that sounds more darker than it should sound." he added.

"Damn, Obito," Panthermon grumbled as he walked into the elevator. "You take things too cautiously."

Akio Higashi

Obito quickly picked up the pace and got into the elevator just as the doors closed. He watched as the lights on top of the door frame lit up and the whirl of the gears echoed around him. He didn't have much to say as the elevator went up, but kept his senses sharp. He had no reason to think this was a bad group, but as Panthermon so overly put it-- Obito spent more time in his head than he should just accept things. It was just his cautious nature.

"Well I guess it's fine If I don't know till I join," Obito said, still surprised the tamers of Busters had such resources, "It's still just a shock to imagine someone will support good tamers like this. And it must cost money. Is there some sort of fee for joining the Busters or anything?"

It was a valid question. Such groups nowadays offered membership for subscription of yen to join. Still, Obito's anxieties were growing fewer in number over this.

"I wasn't even aware the police were aware of it. I mean digimon isn't exactly public knowledge beyond just a game," Obito rose the question. Still, Akio was very pleasant and answered a good deal of Obito's questions. He watched as the elevator went up as well.

Panthermon sat in the elevator as he waited, his tail casually swishing back and forth. "I got a question," the panther asked, "Where is that dog-headed Digimon partner of yours?" Clearly Panthermon was making a not-so veiled description of Dracomon. Even though Panthermon poked fun at Dracomon, he didn't dislike him. He just found his puppy-like attitude annoying as a cat.

Obito heard the rest and soon realized how it worked-- sort of. "So its sort of like a non-profit organization. You're funded but the earnings outweight the cost. Interesting," he commented as the doors opened.

Once they stepped outside-- it looked similar to the lobby area, except the room was almost futuristic. The white walls had series of screens with news feed and monitors. A far end of the circular wall was indeed glass-- tinted to allow people to look out but not in. Most noticed were the other people in the space, along with digimon among them. Their own partners, Obito assumed. They all seemed to talk to themselves and seemed happy as they discussed things.

"Wow..." Obito gasped, amazed to see so many tamers together.

The mention of Dracomon made Obito sympathize with him. Tokyo was a pretty huge place, and the city itself made him feel claustrophobic. He could imagine Panthermon would feel the same. He remembered how easy going the cat was as he reclined in the park that one time. Even though he lived near a big large one, it still wasn't the same as an open area of forest to freely travel through and live in-- as most animals should be allowed to.

"Yeah, I can understand that. It must be hard." Obito commented, "It's times like that I miss living in Kyoto."

Panthermon too grunted as he realized it made sense. "True... I imagine not all Digimon are lucky enough to get skills like I do to fade from view," Panthermon mentioned to his invisibility ability.

With that, they approached the desk to be registered. There was a woman with green hair and a blue uniform. "Welcome," she said, greeting both Obito and Aiko. "Are you new here?" Obito only nodded, still a tad shy with all the new things going on around him. Still, the woman smiled. "Well, welcome to the Shinjuku Busters' Tower. We are more than happy to aid you in your needs as a Digimon Tamer. Could you please state your name?"

Obito cleared his throat, suddenly dry for some reason as he paused. "Um, Obito Kamigawa..."

The woman tapped on her keyboard to fill out a profile, then turned back to Obito. "Okay, may I see your Digivice please? I need to upload some data from it to adapt your profile into our system." she asked.

Obito hummed to himself as he dug into his pocket and took out his digivice by the cloth tassil on it. He showed the deep purple color of it and handed it to her. "Thank you."

She plugged a small USB cord into one side of it in a compartment he didn't have a good look at-- and continued typing again. A few beeps came to the screen as she stopped with a puzzled look on her face. "Excuse me, but we have a small problem. For some reason, your Digimon's information seems incomplete. Its almost as if it doesn't exist in our data bace," she said. Obito blinked at the reaction from the receptionist. "Who is your Digimon partner?"

It was then Panthermon reared his head up from the desk-- like a cat who was eager to get a meal off the counter. He placed his paws there and his head was now in view. "That would be me," he replied-- surprising the receptionist. "The name's Panthermon."

The receptionist flinched at the sight of the black junglecat, but soon calmed down with a chuckle. "Oh, wow... This is a new one.You have quite a unique Digimon." she replied.

"I get that a lot," Panthermon said, his head up oddly proud as if it was a compliment.

Obito rolled his eyes-- partly cause Akio ditched him to look at a map and the other half that registering was longer than he suspected. The receptionist seemed puzzled by Panthermon. "You see, Mr. Kamigawa," she explained, "Each Digimon partner has to be registered in our data base for security reasons and for further study of Digimon. However, your Digimon doesn't appear to have any recorded data. Neither in your digivice or in our databank." She gave a very concerned look to Obito. "It raises the question who or what this digimon is."

Obito felt speechless and unsure how to explain himself. It was not an easy topic to discuss where Panthermon came from. He adjusted his glasses as he glanced at his partner, who just waited patiently without care. "Well... it's kind of complicated because Panthermon is..." he gulped down his courage and took a deep breath. "I sort of made him up... and then he just appeared one day. That's about it. I can't really explain how or why, but I can't complain either."

The receptionist, to what Obito expected, seemed wide-eyed and interested as she glanced down at Panthermon. All the giant cat did was make a very cat-like yawn, sitting on his haunches and swishing his tail. "I see... no wonder the data is incomplete," she said. After a few glances to her monitor, she took a step back from the desk. "You will have to excuse me a moment. I'll need to consult with my superior regarding your registration process. Please be patient."

Without waiting for a reply from Obito, the receptionist left her desk and made her way quickly down the hall. She seemed to be searching for someone, and it made Obito all the more nervous. "Oh, this can't be good..."
