Akio Higashi It was past midnight as a majority of people were asleep in Tokyo. However, even at this ungodly hour, no one was ever completely asleep as there was plenty of night life in Shibuya. Even far away in the other sectors of Tokyo, the sounds of the city continued to act as one's own lullaby for many. From far in his own apartment home, Obito was asleep in his bed. Everything was silent bliss for him as he rested his head on his pillow. At the foot of his bed, the black furry mass -- Panthermon, slept calmly upon the covers and covered his legs with his weight. Though Obito at times tossed and turned, it never bothered the cat as he slept there. However, about 2 AM -- Panthermon's eyes opened. His senses seemed to be on alert as he detected something. His eyes focused as he looked to the window of Obito's room. Even from the distance, Panthermon could detect a Digimon nearby. Now alert, Panthermon walked over the bed and up to where Obito was. "Obito... Obito, wake up," the panther growled trying to rouse his partner. Obito just tucked his head further under his blanket. Irritated, Panthermon took hold of the blanket with his teeth and pulled it off. Obito was now exposed, curled up trying to ignore the cat. "Obito, wake up! We got an emergency. A Digimon is nearby!" the cat said and pressed his paw onto him. "Nooooo... wanna sleep..." Obito groaned. Breee-breee! Breee-Breee! The cell phone on the bedside table went off as the screen lit to reveal the name of Akio on it. Unable to ignore both Panthermon and the Phone, Obito reached over for the phone. He groaned as he saw the bleary number of 2 AM and hit the button to take the call. "Hrello? Aiko, what the hwell?" Obito grumbled, still half asleep. "It's the middle of the night..." Panthermon waited patiently as his sharp ears picked up the sound of who was on the other side of the call. (OOC: Obito's Deck Below) OBITO'S DECK

Sets up training guidelines to help maximize the efficiency of training sessions. When used, staff will set up challenges for the user to attempt to follow. At the end of the thread, if all these objectives have been fulfilled, extra data rewarded. Can only be used in combat.
BS063 - CAT CLAWS
Summons a pair of Gatomon's copied SaberLeomon claws for Digimon use. This set of easy-to-use lightweight claws boosts the user’s Dexterity by 5 Points while worn. Inflicts low Light element damage. Fades away after 3 turns.
BS091 - HEAVEN'S KNUCKLE
Angemon's signature attack. The user throws a punch, sending out a spectral beam of light forward to smite the foe. Inflicts low Light damage, but increases to Heavy light damage if the target is a demonic or undead Digimon.
BS129 - BRAVE SHIELD
The user equips WarGreymon's Brave Shield. Nullifies all fire damage aimed at it, but must be aimed and used with at least two hands. If placed on the user's back, it will nullify all fire damage aimed at their back. Lasts three turns. Digimon and humans. Humans must have 15 Athletics to use.
BS101 - HOLY RING
The Digimon gains a Holy Ring, commonly seen on many angelic or holy Digimon. The user gains a nullification to Light attacks and immunity to Curse status effects, their base affinity becoming Light. Lasts 5 turns.

Wood type Digimon receives a moderate regeneration effect while in it, but said grass is highly flammable, it easily igniting into a bonfire that deals low Fire damage to anything in it if a Fire attack is used. The grass wilts away after 5 turns.
BS022 - INSPIRATION
Cures the Digimon of Fear
BS096 - GOMAMON
Summons one Gomamon that knows Surfer Dive (deals low Water damage to one target) for 2 turns. The Digimon fades away at the end of the duration.
BS015 - SPEED DRIVER
Raises the user's Dexterity by 10 points for 2 turns.
JF14 - NECRO ECLIPSE
AncientSphinxmon's signature attack. The user lets out a roar with the power of death itself. Inflicts moderate Dark damage in a cone, with a tiny chance to instantly kill NPC Digimon.
JF10 - ATTACK FROM THE SHADOWS
Empowers a target Digimon with dark energies. Their next three attacks (be it ability or basic) will ignore any resistances or nullifications to the dark affinity.

[ QUEST ] A large Digimon has recently bio-emerged into the real world the dead of night. While it's intentions are unknown, it is clear that this is not some regular garden-variety Digimon.
• As this thread will have two people, a special form Challenge Mode will be enforced to offset the lowered difficulty of having two people. Tamers beware! Rewards: Blue Card + [[REDACTED]]
A shrill hawk-like screech could be heard echoing across the darkness of Shibuya, only those in the dead of night at this hour able to hear it. Roosting birds in trees, buildings and power lines for miles immediately took flight in a panic; abandoning their nests in a instant.
For those with Digivices at this hour, the small devices began to beep ferverously. Pulling up the mini-map of one's Digivice will signal a direction towards north-west of Shibuya; towards the more isolated parts of the city. If there was a time to start moving, it was now.

Akio had drawn the short stick and was on call that night. He was up and just wondering around the city with Dracomon. For the first several hours it seemed to be a relatively calm night. He had not noticed anything abnormal and there were no sightings of rouges popping up around the city. The hours rolled on and before he knew it it was one in the morning. His stomach let out a loud growl. Makes sense, he though it had been almost 6 hours since he had eaten. He decided he would head back to the tower. He made a quick stop at the tower and got some snacks from the cafeteria. They had a few options, Akio decided he would grab something that he could walk with. Once he had gotten some food he headed back out and started making his way to Shibuya. The snacks hit the spot. He had finished them up just as he reached central Shibuya. That was when he heard it. A screech. Shortly after he heard it his digivice started beeping. He pulled it out from his vest, immediately the screen projected showing him the digimon coming through. It was off to the north west. He started rushing that way. Watching his screen he noticed this was a bigger digimon than he had ever seen before. He might not be able to take this on his own. He reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone. Continuing running he pulled up the number for Obito in one hand while watching the map in his other hand. If he had stopped to dial his phone this would have gone a lot smoother but he thought there wouldn't be time to stop. He struggled to get the phone dialing but he got their eventually. It began ringing. Once, twice, and a third time. Great he thought hes not going to pick up. A few more rings went by, and then a sleepy Obito picked up. "I know." Akio gasped, His breath strained from the running. "I need your help. There's a big one coming through. North West Shibuya. Get there as quick as you can!" Akio wasn't going to give him a chance to respond. He figured the tone of his voice and his out of breath gasp would convey the severity of the message. He hug up the phone to focus on running to the rouge coming through. Obito Kamigawa sopdet

Akio Higashi sopdet The shout of Aiko over the phone startled Obito as he sat up in his bed-- and was alarmed by another ringing. His own Digivice on the night stand flashed to life too. Before Obito could reply, the click of the line ended and he was hung up. OBito lowered his phone and yawned, trying to regain his sense of awareness. Panthermon gave Obito a glare with his yellow eyes, cutting through the dark. "If you're not yet awake, I could bite you if you want," the cat threatened. Obito groaned as he picked up his glasses. "Alright, alright..." he groaned, "Just give me five minutes to get dressed. Jeez... " The urgency of the situation didn't go unnoticed by Obito, but the time of night was ungodly. He would be lucky if he didn't fall asleep on the way.
Obito barely kept awake on the train ride that ran during the night-owl time into Shibuya. In fact, when the stop came-- Panthermon actually did bite Obito on his leg while he was stealthed. Though the pain hurt, it was enough to fully wake up the older teen. It took Obito 15 minutes to get there by train, and hopefully enough time to meet up with Aiko. He quickly ran out of the station-- and put on his headphones. It was his safety device-- to keep awake. The high-energy music of his smartphone kept him awake as he ran. His digivce was leading the way to the distortion. From there, he could hear the shriek sound off over his headphones. Something was indeed near. At his side, Panthermon ran beside him, no longer invisible. "I trust you have a plan for this?" he asked Obito. "We have no idea how powerful this enemy is." "I know Panthermon. But at least we are not on our own," Obito replied. "Hopefully between two tamers, we might be able to stop it." As he ran around a corner of a building-- OBito soon saw a young man accompanied by a dragon-like creature. Aiko and Dracomon! "Hey!" Obito called out and ran towards them. They were close and hopefully, they could see who this rogue digimon was soon. "AIko, have you seen it? Just what is going on, exactly? Shouldn't we find out more about our enemy before we dive into this?"

The signal for the Digivices was growing stronger, pointing to a district with a closed-off area of abandoned apartment buildings. Wire fencing was all that kept intruders from trying to trespass this private property, though would it be enough to stop something like a Digimon? A doubtful set of circumstances.
Upon entering the array of abandoned homes, it was clear that area has not been touched by people in a long time. Many of the building had their doorways and windows blocked off by wooden boarding. Some however had their entrances blown off, still smoldering ash littered with the remains of burnt wood. Regardless, these particular buildings were free to be entered.

"No I haven't seen it yet. Nothing has shown up yet. But we're getting near. I don't think we have time for reconnaissance this time. Look at your digivice. Its growing as we get near. This is a powerful one we don't have time to wait and figure it out before we jump in. But first we need to get past these fences." Akio looked around the fence for any sign of a way in. There was nothing in the immediate area. He started heading off to the left looking for a hole in the links. He didn't have to go far before he was able to spot something. The bottom of one of the fences had a little curl to it. He rushed over to it and started tugging on it. It gave way pretty easy and quickly became a hole big enough for them all to fit through. "Obito over here. I have found us a way in." Akio kept the links pulled back as Dracomon entered first. Once everyone else had made their way through he would follow suit. Once inside he started making his way through the abandon houses. It was a little eerie being here after midnight. He felt like he was in a horror movie. This seemed like just the place that an ax murder would hide and kill his victims. But he had Dracomon, no ax murder would stand a chance against him. The majority of these houses were all boarded up. One couldn't see in or out. The doors too. He figured this out after he tried to open a few doors and none of them budged. After walking through a few rows of houses they finally came on several houses that looked like they had a bomb go off inside them. There were several boards still smoldering in the road. "Looks like we might have found the place lets be careful heading on in." Akio pulled out his digivice and held it in his hand as he headed into the building with Dracomon at his side. sopdet Akio HigashiObito grimaced at the risk involved-- but there was no choice. If they waited too long, the Digimon on the loose might cause worse damage. "Alright, guess we have no choice. Come on, let's hurry." Obito agreed and ran after Akio towards the fense. Using his cellphone as a flashlight, Obito used it to illuminate a bit of their path and saw the gap in the fense. As Obito was about to enter right after Akio-- Panthermon made his own way around. The crafty cat simply hopped onto a nearby tree and lunged over the fense like the skilled jungle cat he was. "Come on, you slow-pokes," the cat growled, "Hurry it up." "Do we look like we can hop over a 6 foot fense, furball?" Obito replied in a cranky response to his partner. It only earned a chuckle from the cat as he dashed forward towards their destination. They finally reached the apartment building as it reached up well above their heads. Obito took a moment to observe the location and his digivice. The radar continued to beep loudly, telling them they were close. "So... it should be around here somewhere, right?" Obito observed as he looked around. "Where do we search now?" Panthermon prowled forward and took the first step inside. "Call it a cat's instinct, but considering the power of this digimon, I'm willing to bet he wouldn't be in some hidden room." The cat said and looked upward at the ceiling. "I say we head up. Even if its not there, we can use the higher ground to scout out where it could be. It will allow us to spot him easier." Obito smiled at Panthermon, encouraged by his sharp thinking. "That's a good idea, Panthermon. I'm glad your a clever cat at this time of night." he said. "Of course I am," Panthermon said and led the way towards the stairwell. "You designed me to be nocturnal, remember?" The sarcastic remark made Obito somewhat embarassed-- realizing he forgot that detail about Panthermon's initial design. Forgotten only cause it was so late.

Exploring the buildings at first seemed to yield little to any actual findings. Any possessions their interiors once had were long since taken away. The rooftops also seemed to yield little at first... except for Obito finding looked to be like the charred remains of some small woodland creatures huddled into a pile. It was frankly charred to the point of being unrecognizable, but hey at least it didn't stink!
Further inspection on Akio's end, one room in particular strangely enough had... mannequins of some kind? The darkness of the room made it somewhat hard to tell, but it felt like stone. Shine a light... and be greeted by the petrified form of a Palmon with a look of horror on it's face. It was just one of several Rookie-level Digimon that were being hoarded hap-hazardly, all with the same looks of fear frozen forever onto their faces.

As Akio entered the building the light shone from his digivice illuminating the room in front of him. At first he thought this building was some kind of clothes store. That these were all mannequins that were at one time or another used to display clothes. As he approached one of them the light from his digivice began light up the face of one of these 'mannequins'. There it was, stone, horror, a face petrified forever in fear. Right in front of him a Palmon. He wasn't expecting that causing him to startle. "Ah" It was a brief yell. But it was loud. He had not expected them to be digimon. The unexpected realization left him sitting on the ground on his butt. He was embarrassed that such a thing had surprised him. But now he knew. He righted himself and brushed off the dust and dirt he had kicked up when he fell. Dracomon who had been off in another part of the room rushed over when he heard his tamer yell. He had to weave his way through the statues of the feared digimon to make it to Akio. "Is everything alright." The dragon asked. "Yeah." Akio replied his voice still trembling a little from the startle. "Just got surprised by the statues is all." "They are a tad unsettling." Dracomon said, his voice changing from compassion to determined. "Who would do such a thing to all these digimon?" He wondered out loud. "No idea." Akio replied. He turned back to look at where he came from. He was checking to see if Obito had made his way in here as well. When he noticed Obito hadn't made it in as well he prepared to yell for him. "Hey Obito! You need to come check this out!" Wanting a bit more light he pulled out his cell phone. His phone had a nice flashlight that was also used as the flash on his camera. He lit up the area and began to search the room more thoroughly for any clues on where the rouge could be and why it seemed to have such a collection digimon that were petrified. Akio Higashi sopdetThe search of the rooftop turned out to be fruitless. Obito and Panthermon had searched it, but only found a few dead common animals. Whoever ate it seemed to had its fill and left-- but it was no different from perhaps a regular cat that was nearby. "Well, that wasn't the best of ideas..." Panthermon admitted, looking over the visible view from their high vantage point. Even from there, they couldn't see any Digimon. Obito couldn't help but yawn at the five minutes they searched. He did his best to keep his senses as he shook his head. "It was a good an idea as any-- considering we don't know what kind of Digimon we are searching for," He said and checked his Digivice. "Let's just head back downstairs and find Akio-senpai before trouble finds us," he replied.
Both Panthermon and Obito descended down the stairway to where they had left Akio, hearing his voice call out to them. "Hey guys... We didn't find anything on the roof, so the Digimon must be--" Obito's cellphone in hand soon illuminated his path-- to find an Impmon petrified in a horrifying pose! A sharp breath escaped Obito, fighting the urge to shout himself. Panthermon soon entered-- and his reaction was quiet. But the cat had wide eyes as he soon saw the statues. Obito soon gazed at the statues, and to Aiko among them. "Senpai... please tell me this is a sculptor's idea of Digimon fanart?" Obito said softly, containing his initial fright at the 'terrified' posed statues. Panthermon gave a general sniff at a few of the statues and growled softly. "No... they're the real deal. Digimon. All of them," he replied with a grim seriousness to his tone. "Though I have no idea what could do this to them." The panic in Obito's chest soon lessened, but as Aiko had mentioned so accurately, the feel of a creepy psycho killer among them felt familiar again, like many of those cliche slasher movies. However, the more he thought, Obito began to remember something. "Hold on... I think I remember something about this," he said, his eyes closed as he tried to sort through his thoughts-- weighted down by the late hour. "Greek Mythology, ancient monsters that turned people into stone... I remember there was a Digimon who could do the same thing." Curious, Panthermon turned to his tamer. "Which one?" he asked, his tone more impatient. "How many could possibly turn people into stone?" "Hey-- there are several in mythology. I can't tell," Obito said. He remembered mythology well since his parents-- even his grandparents researched the legends for history purposes. They were always mentioned in museums and artwork. "Um... Medusa, who turned men into stone who looked at her." Obito rambled, trying to use logic to figure out what they were dealing with. "The basilisk did that too... then there was this one creature-- the lower body of a dragon and wings and head of a ...a..."

"WHO IS THERE?! RAAAWK!"
A shrill-sounding barely feminine voice screeched out in the area. The owner of this voice was a giant bird-like Digimon adorned in red and white feathers, standing nearly twice as tall as even the tallest of humans.
The Akatorimon had just emerged from the woods that bordered the abandoned compartment complex, somewhat aimlessly wandering into the open area. As she waved her head around, she pranced forward (albeit comically-chicken like), grumbling obscenities in a cockney accent before screeching out once more. "THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO RUN OFF TRESPASSERS! I SMELL SOMETHIN' FRANK SUSPICIOUS, AND I DON'T RIGHT CARE FOR TRESPASSERS TRESPASSING ON MA PROPERTEH! TRESPASSERS BEWARE!"
The overgrown cockatrice fortunately did not seem to notice anyone yet due they being indoors. If anything, the bird seemed to have some rather poor eye-sight, walking straight into a wall. Appropriately, it's reaction to such is that of overblown southern rage. "GOSH DARN FRIGGIN' CONFANGLED HUMAN STRUCTURES!" Regardless, soon enough the overgrown bird squeezed its way through the narrow (to it) stairways, seemingly starting to make her way towards Obito and Akio's location where the false display of statue-fied Digimon was being held.
Akatorimon has appeared and is heading towards the room of statues. She has only noticed the presence that someone has been here recently.

"Well if it is like that myth where it can turn people and digimon to stone it would be best if we don't look it in the eyes during the fight." Akio chuckled after that. He didn't think it was medusa they were going up against but something was nagging at him. How did all these digimon get turned to stone then. If it was petrification how did they manage it. He continued exploring. There must be some sort of clues here as to what their opponent was. As well as finding what they were capable of. Besides petrification there was no signs of anything else that this digimon could do. That and there was no signs of who the digimon was. There it was. There first sign of the digimon they came here to defeat. This was one of the largest digimon he had ever encountered. It was some sort of giant chicken thing. But Akio knew when it came to digimon looks didn't mean a whole lot. Even the most unassuming looking digimon could contain immense power. "It looks like he has poor eyesight." Akio whispered to anyone that could hear him. "Lets be quite maybe we can get the jump on him." Akio turned off the lights he had out and made his way back toward the entrance. Hugging the wall that the door was on he would watch for the digimon to walk by. Once the digimon passes he will launch his surprise attack. Obito Kamigawa sopdet |

Akio Higashi sopdet "Took the words right out of my mouth," Obito said to Aiko, and sighed as he tried to remain calm in the face of the situation. "We can't risk a head-on fight or--" RRRAAAK!! The sound startled Obito, even from afar-- and Panthermon's ears went up with alertness. The cat crouched low and growled with bared teeth. "It's coming..." Obito kept close to Akio, and from the windows, Obito could glance the brief image of the enlarged chicken. "Right...A Cockatrice. Figures," Obito whispered and turned off his cellphone's light. From nearby, Panthermon peered at the incomong bird, but kept hidden in the shadows of the building with them. Obito's Digivice beeped as he checked it out-- seeing the radar open up to display the enemy's Data-- and revealed what Obito was afraid of. "I knew it. Akatorimon-- Champion Digimon. Data type. " Obito relayed in a whisper back to Akio. Obito now hid along with Akio among the entrance corridor. If the big bird was gonna go back to his 'nest' with all her stone statues, she would have to come by this way. Panthermon hid among another end of the corridor-- his black fur kept him well hidden, as he laid low and waited for the moment to pounce on the overgrown bird.

"YOU BETTER BE HIDIN'! SCRAM OR ELSE!"
For a few minutes, the overgrown chicken seemed to try and find a sign of her unwanted guests; though it seemed that her poor eyesight made that task difficult. Deciding that it wasn't worth the effort, the Akatorimon grumbled to itself in a softer tone. "Hmmph. Trespassers. They gonna end up like the rest if they keep coming."
Giving up the search, the Akatorimon proceeded to instead make her way to the room of calcified Digimon, taking up a large portion of the room. Taking the time to sit down (characteristically chicken-like), she looking directly at the statues. "Well, howdy folks. You fellers all comfy? Ah naw, you ain't. Sorry about that." She'd begin to speak to the collection of stone surprisingly politely, taking a very drastic shift of tone compared to her shrill screaming earlier.
Plucking a feather off herself, the bird Digimon began to painstakingly dust the statues. "Awww shucks, you fellers didn't deserve this at all. Not a single one of you." She'd continue to speak to the statues with a genuine sad tone in her voice before glaring at the Impmon statue. "Cept you. You were an ass."
Akatorimon is busy talking to and dusting the statues. She is still relatively oblivious to everyone's presence.

Akio and Dracomon kept still right by the door way. Akatorimon was just fumbling her way through the abandon buildings. This reassured him that this digimon didn't have the best of eyesight. He was starting to wonder if the digimon was going to come by their hiding spot. As time went by the digimon seemed to calm down. He thought this was probably due to the digimon thinking that maybe there wasn't any trespassers in her area.[break][break]
But that was when it happened. The digimon made it way back to the house that they had been hiding in. That was when things started getting really strange. She started talking to the statues. She seemed sorry that they were turned to stone. But she walked right past both Obito and him. She sat down right in front of the both of them. [break][break]
Akio turned to look at Dracomon. They both shared a look of confusion, they didn't know what to do at this point. It seemed like they had time to come up with a strategy. She walked right past them and didn't give them a second thought making Akio think that she didn't see them. He turned over to look at Obito and gave him a big shrug. Guess we will see what Obito has for an idea to deal with this Digimon.
