[attr="class","trying"] [attr="class","we1"] [attr="class","lost1"]let us play a game [attr="class","rise"] [attr="class","dying1"] [attr="class","mouths1"]How does a man like Masao Tenno, Japan's most prominent corporate magnate and the undisputed leader of the Shinjuku Busters, get away with spending hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of taxpayers' hard-earned yen to host a card tournament of this magnitude? Yun Yoshimasa cannot summon an answer to this question, no matter how hard the cogs and gears of his mind crank or turn. He folds his arms into his wiry chest, looking directly at a flyer that had been posted near the glistening ivory headquarters of Tenno Industries with a rather expressive glare of disinterest for this billionaire's utterly childish attempts to garner interest for his gaggle of white-collar slaves whipped into condition by his inflated sense of ego. But, he was a paradoxical fellow, one who could easily disregard the pull of common sense on a rare occasion and, for want of a better way to put it, simply 'go with the flow' when he needed to. And, right now, his instincts were compelling him to investigate this Masao Tenno and his glorified ego-stroking pageant for whatever it was worth to him. Just look at that shit-eating mug of his... He thought himself above the people he claimed to protect with his squad of card-slinging goons, but this flyer--that poster, the flags on the light fixtures, the enormous liquid crystal displays that featured him in full panoramic view--no matter where Yun's eyes fell, nothing but cold, bitter arrogance and apathy for the common people greets him. It sickens the duelist, enough to make the multi-colored hairs on his neck stand on end. It was too bad he didn't have a spot in this tournament himself, otherwise he had a mind to teach him a valuable lesson in humility. This was still a chance to acquire some valuable intelligence, and his little tournament was the perfect alibi he needed to slip in as one of the crowd of onlookers, spectators, and a fellow card game enthusiast. He adjusts the fastener of his leather jacket without a word and begins walking his way to the front entrance of the sprawling tower complex, looking to be corralled to wherever he needed to be so that he may begin searching for his intended target, the Pale Emperor himself. Meanwhile, Zubamon was instructed to maintain his distance and keep the lowest profile that he could muster, as it was quickly approaching the height of morning and his armor would have probably made him stand out like a lighthouse beacon on full blast. It certainly helped matters more that Tenno Industries' main campus had such a wide range of large, ample trees for him to hunker himself inside of until the festivities were over. That, or unless Yun swipes an augment card to trigger his vanguard's protocol and rush to his defense. For now, the dragon bedecked in gold plate armor would remain seated against a high branch of a mighty maple in full leaf, encased by a dense pocket of shadows and out of sight, eyes closed as though he were napping instead of waiting. 1 - HYPER WING 2/3 - FEATHER FALL X2 4 - WETLANDS 5 - EXPANSION 6 - ELEMENT CHAMELEON 7 - TRAINING MANUAL 8 - SHOGUN SWORD W 9 - METEOR WING 10 - GOLIATH 11 - WOLF CLAW 12 - GIGA BLASTER 13 - HEAVEN'S GATE 14 - THOR'S HAMMER 15 - DRAMON KILLER W

“Is something that can be taken away.” Deck SC11 - Energy Drink Summons forth a high-octane energy drink for one target Digimon to drink. When consumed, it raises that target's Dexterity by 2 for a duration of 3 turns.

SC27 - Dampen Wets a 250ft radius with a light rain for a duration of 5 posts.
It was supposed to be amazing, wasn't it?
The idea that an event like this, was able to produce this much of a turnout, for a children's card game.
But it wasn't. Not even remotely close. Anyone who found themselves amazed at such a spectacle, must have been living under a rock, if they were impressed.
This event was just one of many, that could have produced roughly the same size, or even more.
Things which had nothing to do with what was so popular among people who referred to themselves, as card enthusiasts, for their interest in the hobby.
The sort who likely didn't even know that the game which they played so much, was actually something real.
A whole other world that just couldn't be documented, and only seen by those it had chosen to allow it.
People like her. Or really, anyone who seemed to dress themselves that hinted, they were also apart of the world. Although she couldn't be too sure.
She knew there to be casuals around here. There was always casuals for anything that had a following.
Her own parents were one of those, but due to the lives they had, continued to remain separate from her life.
People like them, were perhaps even worse than those ignorant of the world hidden from them, not aware of how to even play it for what it was in this world.
Some even had the kind of confidence that she could mistake to be knowing of the hidden world, but was truly nothing more than bravado for those they were with.
Those sort revealed their lack of knowledge, from their lack of concern they had anyone waiting on them.
No matter what relationship a Tamer had with their Digimon, communication was at least a thing.
It was the only way battles, and real ones, wouldn't wind up being a hassle to even get through.
Trust was needed. Or at least some form of agreement that they could work together, like other pairs.
Coming to this event, had fortunately not been an issue. She found it almost difficult to tell what was, when it came to the Digimon, who quite resembled a bear cub.
Walking around with it anywhere, was always a difficult thing, since it couldn't fit inside of a bag, like she knew most people opted doing to hide their Digimon.
But that was the thing about being apart of a faction, and having a partner who was at least capable.
A group that understood her struggles, was a group she could at least rely on for support, knowing a game hosted by the leader of her faction, would have some kind of room somewhere she could keep the bear.
She had no doubt that watching the matches, was something which it had wanted in the first place.
But as she had told it before they had left, it would have to grasp it in the first place, as she set the path.
From a distance or a glance, the bear could possibly be mistaken for a child costume of sorts, parading around.
An excuse which she hated, and refused to go by, knowing the Digimon was supposed to be with her.
She was no babysitter. Not one to hang around what people would likely believe to be a child, with that excuse. Which was why she had other plans.
The Digimon was supposed to be with her. And it truly would, once they had finished the hassle it took to get it somewhere that they were understood. But until then, it would be on its own with this travel.
Would have to use the shade around them, and its own speed, greater than most, to go around keeping it from being seen. A little sight from a few people, wouldn't necessarily go around making headlines in the news.
Not when she knew for a fact that there were Digimon who were worse off than they were, at being able to go anywhere together. That had brought her enough comfort when it had came to traveling, to forget it.
It might not have been a method which it had actually liked, but the alternative was placing it in a trash bag, and dragging it around. That was even more suspicious, and much rougher on its body, than simple running.
Although nothing which she wouldn't consider. As she reached the area where the Shinjuku Busters Tower was, her eyes had glanced around for movement.
To the point where she had even stopped, and let others pass her, as she stood to the side. There were people like her, who couldn't just freely move around as she did. She just had to look for subtle movement.
Up even, for those fortunate enough to have a partner who could fly. Behind her, the bear Digimon had hid behind a tree, its limbs having been pushed, with the distance they had already gone to travel on foot.
There was distance between them, as there was meant to be. With the ample trees around the area, simply waiting there wouldn't have also been much of an issue. But her inspection wasn't meant to keep it waiting.
It was to look for others. Though with how she had just stopped and looked around, she was seeing more people with Digimon in their bags, than creatures who were similar in size to her own walking Digimon.
Not even bothering to display a shrug, as most would, from not finding what they were looking for, she had continued on to where the actual tower was. It shouldn't take her too long to find someone who could help.
She had confidence it could be smuggled in.

Yun maintains a level expression as he passes by several of Tenno's hired goons. They're not who he's looking for, anyway. The duelist slows his approach upon noticing a small crush of people between the age categories of early adolescence and early adulthood, and eventually comes to a halt behind a rambunctious collective of schoolboys looking to get in on the excitement of the tournament. Quietly, he folds his arms and waits for the line to clear up some, hoping he wouldn't be too late in capturing a glimpse of his intended target. If he was, then there wasn't exactly much he could do about it. Masao Tenno was the executive head of a major corporate enterprise, after all. Yun could only stand by and move with the pace of the crowd, doing his best to be patient with how slowly it crawled along while occasionally indulging in the offhand question or two surrounding his excessively pointy haircut. 1 - HYPER WING 2/3 - FEATHER FALL X2 4 - WETLANDS 5 - EXPANSION 6 - ELEMENT CHAMELEON 7 - TRAINING MANUAL 8 - SHOGUN SWORD W 9 - METEOR WING 10 - GOLIATH 11 - WOLF CLAW 12 - GIGA BLASTER 13 - HEAVEN'S GATE 14 - THOR'S HAMMER 15 - DRAMON KILLER W

Waiting.
It was only really expected for an event like this, and whether a day was pleasant or not, the idea of something stopping someone from proceeding, was the very thing which most would find themselves despising.
Some people gave off the impression they had the patience of a saint, but if given the power to do as they wish, she doubted they would continue to uphold the traditions of what was considered to be the norms.
At the very least, if they could help it. Her eyes had followed after several people, dressed in the kind of style that so obviously displayed they must have been apart of Nightmare. Rather than continuing to wait like everyone else, they had left, likely to try and sneak in.
But the numerous men in suits and communication devices, were spread out enough to have that kind of thinking secured. If those from her former faction really wished to get in so recklessly, they'd need to start something beyond just physical or verbal abuse.
Cover too, if they were smart. But there were several reasons she had left in the first place. The thought of any of them recognizing her, knowing she likely knew people who were still members, occurred to her.
Though those sort and their rage, she didn't see any worth worrying for. They could come after her if she wished, but they would find the endeavor just as difficult as she had made it for them, when she left.
Besides, it would also be chasing after someone who wasn't even prominent in the faction. They'd know her from descriptions, if they were close to her old group, but carrying out that wish was fruitless with no ties to her.
Though if there was violence to be had, that wouldn't stop a Nightmare. Her body shifted to keep up with the pace the line was moving at, more than the thought that she would even go and receive any trouble.
The five cards she kept in the jean shorts she wore, became much more noticeable with the steps she took. A selection she knew off the top of her head, and could quite possibly speed up the line if it was needed.
No one would really notice if she swiped a card. Though it would also be a waste of power she had at her disposal. Lest she really be tempted too. Perhaps if she felt too annoyed, and men in suits couldn't realize they were losing potential money, having people wait around.
A sigh escaped her, as her eyes flicked onto a man with a rather peculiar hairstyle. Only some paces in front of her, and likely the one who stood out the most around here, just because of his appearance.
An example of bravado, if there was any at all, yet also difficult to distinguish if he knew of the other world. No real movement implying there was a Digimon on him, but surely, he had some story behind all that hair spray.
"Digimodify."
It was a quiet mumble, as she had pulled out her Dampen card, and swiped it by her digivice, behind the cover of the back in front of her. From the distance of where her Bearmon had stood hidden, the tip of its paws trickled with bits of light, and disappearing into the air.
Rain started to pour from the skies, which although wasn't heavy, should still prove to be enough of an annoyance to speed things up, as people would likely insist that they could wind up taking cover.
That much, warranted her decision.

[attr="class","trying"] [attr="class","we1"] [attr="class","lost1"]let us play a game [attr="class","rise"] [attr="class","dying1"] [attr="class","mouths1"] Plip. Yun lifts a hand to his cheek out of reflex, then looks up. Plip, plip, plip. It was starting to rain. Just when it had finished drying, too... The duelist groans under his breath at first, but finds himself colored a shade surprised when the throngs of tournament-goers slightly picked up its pace. But only slightly. It was better than nothing, though, Yun pondered to himself as he took to shielding his hairstyle from the incoming sprinkle. Eventually, he would find his way inside the conference center's front entrance, taking a moment to step aside from the oncoming rush of people so that he could perform emergency maintenance on his multicolored spikes, retrieving a small folding comb from his pocket to run gingerly through each of the star-like points. A few condescending glares, but Yun dismisses them placidly, focused entirely on accomplishing his own agenda. He sought only to leave others alone just for the opportunity to seek out and obtain a firsthand glimpse at the true face of Tenno Industries, even going as far as to separate himself willingly from his own partner. Some might easily mistake this for a lack of trust, but Yun would have been the first to disagree with such an assessment. Does it not take some degree of faith to walk alone, as well? A sharp click follows, and the young man stuffs the comb back into his pants pocket. The chill of Busters Tower's central air conditioning system felt a little extra frigid, if only because he and the rest of the crowd had narrowly escaped a run-in with Mother Nature. Regrouped mentally, Yun Yoshimasa follows the crush in a slow, deliberate gait, keeping his eyes open for any signs of Tenno's presence. --- Outside, Zubamon lets out a metallic grunt of irritation as he wrings his cape out for the second time, having not expected the sudden downpour. Though the leaves of the tree that served as his refuge from the public grew heavy with rainwater, the golden dragon persisted nevertheless, as exposing himself would only draw unwanted attention. Incidentally, it also served to conceal the smell of another Digimon that was possibly lurking close to his current location, leaving Zubamon unaware while he tended to his laundry. 1 - HYPER WING 2/3 - FEATHER FALL X2 4 - WETLANDS 5 - EXPANSION 6 - ELEMENT CHAMELEON 7 - TRAINING MANUAL 8 - SHOGUN SWORD W 9 - METEOR WING 10 - GOLIATH 11 - WOLF CLAW 12 - GIGA BLASTER 13 - HEAVEN'S GATE 14 - THOR'S HAMMER 15 - DRAMON KILLER W

The trickling of rain.
With or without the sun blazing heat down on those outside, she had always found it to be a warm welcome. Comforting in ways that had her look back at what she had been through growing up, even if it was brief.
A lot of people tended to regret their actions, and what their decisions had led to, feeling that they had loss the kind of control that they had intended. Realize just how much things hadn't gone well for them.
But those sort acted earlier than they should have. Couldn't make something different, work a similar way to what they had wanted. They lacked too much confidence, for such a thing to occur without aid.
There were people who would argue that everyone started somewhere, and while there was truth in that, there was a certain extent before such an excuse was pointless. Something to mock for using.
Her decision to swipe Dampen, was brought on by her own suspicions, on those within the crowd, who must have known about the hidden world. An easy tell was certain shift in movements.
She found this happening paces away from her own position in line, as the pouring rain, light as it was, brought concern to some of these people. Those who undoubtedly failed to separate their relationship.
Digimon were creatures from a different world, and didn't have the same biology to even get sick from a little downpour. But time spent with them, she had seen could make people forget they were digital.
That was what she had already proven, from such a simple gesture like swiping a single card. The lack of concern the man seemed to have, didn't necessarily rule him out, but it did prove to be typical.
Following in with the crowd, as the line had slightly quickened from her actions, she had found the man standing aside, just to go and fix that hair of his. Which apparently didn't hold any hair spray.
That was even worse. Hair wasn't supposed to just hold that kind of gravity. He was also a bit too laxed for someone attending an event like this. She might not have been chattering away either, but that was her.
Events like this had their appeal, but it was more so from what she was able to sought out and prove, than the things that actually went on. One particular thing she knew, was that people would be betting.
An easy way to garner cash, but also the easiest to be proven wrong. The rumored matchups around, she was already quite certain, there were those who wouldn't live up to expectations people had.
Continuing to walk around, she knew that her own lied in eventually finding enough peace, to somehow smuggle the bear in here too. The idea that she would have to even inform him if she couldn't, vexed her.
He might have been strong, but this kind of communication would have been better off, if she had one of those smaller Digimons. Outside of the tower, rather large paws were pressed against the bark of the tree.
The excuse that was to be used, was that he was nothing more than a costume, but the idea of being approached, didn't fail to be terrifying. He morally couldn't attack the humans here, just like in his own world.
But just how long was this going to take? Where was the other Digimon that he had been told would have similar issues? The scent had been all around before his own rain had snuffed things out, wetting his fur.
He didn't find the weather awful, but he preferred to lie, rather than stand around for it.

[attr="class","trying"] [attr="class","we1"] [attr="class","lost1"]let us play a game [attr="class","rise"] [attr="class","dying1"] [attr="class","mouths1"]A song runs through Yun's mind to take the edge off, put him in a more loose state. His hair bobs gently in time to a rhythm inaudible to everyone bar himself, glancing every which way to scope out the environment for a route to the man he wanted a full view of, the one he wanted nothing more than to personally evaluate. He knew the odds, how unlikely it would be for him to actually have his wish granted, but, then again, did anyone in this world trust Yun? The chances of that were probably just as low. Thus, he keeps to himself, stays away from the crowd knowingly, aware he is not wanted or loved. Such luxuries weren't for people like him, who were given a proverbial bad hand and forced to play the game of life with nothing else. If his parents thought his beliefs were garbage, then it stood to reason that everyone else would think the same. Only the likes of his partner Zubamon placed any value in his goals, and it was this unspoken trust that gave Yun the strength of heart necessary to continue pressing against the grain. In a way, life itself was comparable to this tournament's betting tables, where card game aficionados and enthusiasts the world over could stake their wages on their favorite duelists, people they've never even met or seen before, deliberately knowing that fortune favors no mortal yet willing to risk it all to win. Whenever Yun was confronted with such a scenario, he couldn't help but appreciate the intricacy of the systems involved. He would have even placed a few bets himself, had he the appropriate funds on stock. But, he preferred a more controlled form of gambling, one that gave him far greater gains than any money could, and it just so happened that the dealer's square was close by. Whistling a few notes, Yun paces his way over to peruse the booster packs they had on sale. As he paced his way closer to the tables, a pit feeling in the bottom of his gut kept suggesting to the stoic-faced duelist that he was being followed by someone with a predator's mentality, like he had been marked for death. He takes a few more glances upon arriving at the first salesman to greet him, then turns his focus away to engage in conversation. Something was clearly wrong here. --- It seemed as though Zubamon had the same growling suspicions running through his mind, as well, but orders were to remain put until his master left Busters Tower proper. The personal conflict creates a nauseating feeling of unease in the dragonoid Rookie as he releases an echoed snort from his metal-coated nostrils, caring even less about keeping his cape from getting too soaked. As Zubamon lowers his gaze down to the earth beneath him, a smudge of black with spots of blue stands out among the soft downpour, pressed against a tree as though it, too, were hiding from the rest of the world. It had to be a Digimon, but the rain made it somewhat difficult for the golden Digimon to make out its actual species. From behind the shadows of the maple's canopy, it appeared mammalian. Sensing no hostility, Zubamon maintains his position, opting to passively observe the creature rather than allow his mind, the only thing sharper than his own nasal blade, to hone itself for combat. What was it thinking about? And, more importantly, did it belong to somebody? 1 - HYPER WING 2/3 - FEATHER FALL X2 4 - WETLANDS 5 - EXPANSION 6 - ELEMENT CHAMELEON 7 - TRAINING MANUAL 8 - SHOGUN SWORD W 9 - METEOR WING 10 - GOLIATH 11 - WOLF CLAW 12 - GIGA BLASTER 13 - HEAVEN'S GATE 14 - THOR'S HAMMER 15 - DRAMON KILLER W

Power...
“Is something that can be taken away.” Deck SC11 - Energy Drink Summons forth a high-octane energy drink for one target Digimon to drink. When consumed, it raises that target's Dexterity by 2 for a duration of 3 turns.
SC15 - Rain Splash Allows a Digimon to call upon the power of the rain, splashing one target and inflicting tiny Water damage.
SC27 - Dampen Wets a 250ft radius with a light rain for a duration of 5 posts.
A lot of people were simple.
With the light rain outside, being left behind as they were let in, what the tower had to offer, was an easy distraction. A way to escape into their own world.
People moved all around her, forgetting about the bits of rain that had dripped onto their clothes and hair, too eager to indulge in the expenses they wanted to see.
But as she looked around herself, idly matting down her hair, she couldn't really see their same view.
There had been a time when events like this, with all of its stalls and merch, did somewhat hold a high view in her eyes, for what value they carried with them.
But she had learned since meeting the Bearmon, the kind of things that she had been missing, which proved to hold value beyond just what others not invited to their hidden world, were unable to even see.
Why bother with materialistic things like the rest, when it would be more beneficial to spot out others like her. Get a gauge of who was competent, and who wasn't.
Things like booster packs, which while did have its use, weren't something which took too long to sort through.
Use what was needed, instead of what wasn't, was the kind of thing which she believed in. The other two cards she had in mind to use, would come when she saw it.
The thing on her mind which she still intended to carry out, was smuggling the Bearmon in here.
With how her Busters leader prided himself so much on his Airdramon, she was certain she could do it.
All she would need, is a bit of help to go and pull it off. It was unintentional, but that man was rather easy to spot in a crowd of people, just knowing of his existence.
He might have had some cards she could use for distractions, when that had came around.
Maybe even something better than the light rain she knew was still pouring out there. Her action should have already brought some mild attention to those outside.
"Weather. Did you get any related ones?"
She had no hesitation in walking up to the man with multi-colored hair, the tone in her voice matching the biting look in her eyes. This wasn't something meant to be just plain conversation, but business.
Outside of the tower, the Bearmon had watched people pass by, one after another, going in the building. Though the men in black suits still continued to remain outside.
He wasn't interested in what Digimon might have been around, more than the feeling nagging at him to sleep. Vitality wasn't his best aspect, and some would say that it was something practically nonexistent.
With how the rain was helping keeping people inside, it wasn't supposed to be much longer before he could too. Trying to get into one of those other doors himself, would probably prove to be problematic.
A yawn had escaped him, which was mostly covered from the rain around, and the bear found that he had slumped himself on the ground, no longer wanting to stand. If she had caught him, she'd be disappointed.
He was supposed to be strong.
