So, this was the Buster Tower that he had heard about. Hisan'na stood before the building, trembling lightly. Within her countless people with digimon of their own, all who wouldn't spare a thought to turning this poor, scrawny boy into prey. The bandages from his wounds the other day were clearly visible, further indicating his weakness. But he had a reason for being here. With all these digimon gathered, there was no doubt that Masuta would be here. So much data to harvest and grow stronger. And Hisan'na intended to be there to help him. I mean, what else could he do? He had no other purpose in life. After that horrible failure at the docks, Hisan'na had gotten himself some better cards, to better serve him. He just hoped he could be of use to the malicious digimon. Taking a deep breath, he stepped inside.

Now that she was inside, Kasumi could say that the so-called power didn't look to be that big of a deal. Well, yes; it was a pretty huge corporate complex, and people were bustling about, talking about the results of the last round of matches, but other than that, it pretty much seemed like... any sports event ever. Cept this one resembled a bit to dog or cock fights. Pretty weird, but it wasn't like she was in a position to make any complaints. Mirrormon wanted to get here, and Kasumi preferred to deal with this multitude than with him nagging at her, so... "Do you think a fight is going to begin soon? I want to watch it." Well, maybe the digimon wasn't done nagging her, but at least he was being way less obnoxious than usual. To be honest, she was also looking to see some action but... she had no idea when it'd begin. Hisan'na looked around as he stepped into the foyer of the tower. There were so many people everywhere, a number of them with digimon accompanying them. The thought that any of them could suddenly turn around and attack him spooked him. But he couldn't turn tail and run. He was here on a mission.
Hisan'na began making his way through the crowds of people, taking care not to bump into any of them and draw any unwanted attention. In fact, he was so focused on avoiding others, he failed to notice he was heading towards a young woman, until he ended up colliding with her.
----
Meanwhile, Masuta was indeed in the general area. He had caught wind of the tournament happening here, of all the data gathered in one spot, just waiting to be absorbed by him. The thought made his non existent mouth water. He kept to the darkness, keeping himself hidden as he skulked around the tower. He would become the most powerful digimon there was, and he'd do it without that useless tamer of his.

Kasumi was comfortably standing where she was, minding her own business when she suddenly, somebody collided with her. Unlike the last time that had happened, this time the collision was noticeably softer, but still, a single thought coursed through her head as it happened. Not again...
She turned to face the offending person in order to give them a piece of her mind. "Hey, look where are you goin' you motherf..." And just stopped at the sight of the teenager in front of her. Hey, she might've had a really bad temper and the tongue of a drunken sailor, but she wasn't a bully. And lashing out at this guy would probably end up making her feel worse instead of being cathartic. Like, really, he looked like he hadn't slept correctly for a week at the very least.
Her tone changed a bit, taking a semblance of awkward... friendliness; least to say, Kasumi wasn't all that good at expressing it. "Say, are you alright dude? You look like you've been through a pretty rough patch."
Mirrormon's curiosity was also piqued, but he refrained from saying anything for the time being. He took notice that the newcomer's partner was nowhere to be seen, though.

As Hisan'na bumped into the young woman, he stumbled back, almost tripping over his own feet. When she spun around on him, getting ready to chew him out, he flinched like a dog expecting a beaten. "I-I'm sorry! It was an accident!" His eyes took in the partner sitting beside her, and a sense of panic gripped him. He half expected the tamer to sic her digimon on him at a moment's notice. Instead, she seemed to restrain herself, asking if he was ok with notably forced concerned. Hisan'na looked over to the side, unable to meet her gaze. "I-I'm ok. D-Don't worry." Anyone looking at him could tell that he WASN'T ok. He looked dishevelled, beat up, and at the moment scared of the woman and her digimon in front of him. ---- Masuta was surprised how easy it was to get in here. Normally he would have had to hide, but nobody seemed to bat an eyelid at the digimon walking around. What fools. Didn't they know he would be their destroyer? Well, if it made things easier for him... He skulked around the room, keeping along the wall to avoid drawing attention to himself. He would need to find a good target to isolate so he can take them down. But who? Then he saw him. That useless boy Hisan'na. And he seemed to be talking to some girl and her digimon. What was that useless sack of flesh doing here?

She hadn't even been really aggressive, and the boy in front of her was already wilting under her gaze. Was he really that wimpy or... something else was up?
"No biggie, mate. I don't need to be a genius to know you didn't mean it." After a quick shrug, she added. "Sides, there's no real reason to be afraid, yanno? This place's supposed to be a safe zone, so you'd have gotten a verbal thrashing at most."
That was her main worry, really. One would have to be really dumb to get on the physical side of things on this place, but that didn't deter people from trying to pickpocket others' stuff. And the fact that a good portion of the people around wore black managed to make her just a little nervous. Maybe that was what was happening right now? A really smooth burglary attempt was underway and this was the decoy? His clothes could certainly pass up for Nightmare attire, and Kasumi couldn't really see any digimon near this guy.
Well, this probably was the best moment to find out. She quickly gestured at the first Nightmare crony she saw. "By the way, where's your mon? You lookin' that way isn't related to them, right?" She wasn't all that good at being subtle, but her question also being a valid concern in case poor dude got his digimon stolen at least made it look somewhat credible.
Meanwhile, Mirrormon just took a look at his surroundings. He knew the way his partner thought and made sure to have his eyes open in case something fishy was up, either from this guy or from anyone around.

The girl didn't seem angry with him. That was a good thing. Maybe she just didn't think he was worth beating on. Who knew? He still couldn't help but look around nervously at all the digimon around here, especially after she said that this was a 'safe space'. If you're strong maybe..." he murmured.
Then she asked about his partner, and if he was tied to nightmare. "N-No! I'm not with them. Not that they'd want me anyway..." His face fell as he thought about his partner, "E-Even my own partner didn't want me. He's probably found someone else by now..." Maybe coming here was a mistake. Even if Masuta was here, why would he even want him? He probably found another tamer by now.
Meanwhile, Masuta watched the exchange, while keeping himself hidden. That digimon of hers looked like it had some good data. He just needed to get them somewhere secluded.

So, this was the convention center for that big tournament everyone was talking about. All these goons riled up for a couple of fights? Sure was the norm, with everyone expecting their man Kimura to be doing the smuggle runs since he just didn't give a shit about all this. It was whatever, they had a couple of boys in the brackets, may as well show that good old team spirit. Sure, text him at three a.m. to come through with booze and other things that are most likely not allowed in his building. Thank god they weren't checking backpacks-- Actually, scratch that, he'd probably just say a couple of quick words and be on his way. This really wasn't all that serious.
What may've been serious is this lady with her distressed. . . child? He really couldn't make heads or tails of this person, could've been a girl, boy, midget, elf. All he knew was that anxious look on their face, with the other person showing slight interest in their plight. Seemed like they were talking about something or other going missing. Not his business, he was running errands and getting what he needed done. Having a couple of his homeboys being pointed at didn't fill him with confidence about the situation, but it just wasn't his problem. Their fuck up is their fuck up. Back to the grind.
Speaking of the grind, he walked right passed them trying to get further into the more exclusive and secluded parts of the complex. While making his way around, he noticed a small, purple digimon hiding out around there. It was odd. . . something about this set of data didn't rub him the right way. Seemed like he was scouting out most of the area for some kind of deed or heist he was pulling. Which only reminded him, he didn't exactly know the building well. Kimura took a second out of his day to make eye contact with the little guy and squat down, "You wouldn't happen to know where all the boys are? Gotta crack open a cold one." Given the look presented, he was probably one of their digimon anyway. Should know where they're all hiding out.

All the movement and conversation going around didn't let Kasumi pick up on the teenager's murmurs. Jeez, she hated it when people did that. If people had stuff to say, better if they just did it out loud instead of that cryptic nonsense.
Oh well. At least her mood lightened considerably at the guy's reply. While the guy had discerned the underlying intent of her question, he had misinterpreted the inquiry itself, prompting a snicker out of the redhead. "I wasn't talking about your clothes, dude. I was talkin about you looking pretty... roughed up. But I guess the answer to that question is no either, so that's fine."
The bit about his partner made her ponder. Seemed like he had got the short end of the stick regarding them. A small frown made its way through Kasumi's face, as she wasn't really sure on how to answer it without sounding blunt "That sucks, mate. But you shouldn't let that get you down, I think." Welp; so much for it. As smooth as a car crash. "But, since you're here, I take you're trying to get him back, right? Need help at searching for him or something?"
Eh, she might've just bitten the trap, but this guy genuinely didn't look like he was lying. Well, that... or he was the best person at lying ever. In any case, her worries about this had diminished considerably, just as Mirrormon's. Nothing fishy seemed to be going on, and her new acquaintance's plight seemed to be way more entertaining than just standing there until the next fight began.

Hisan'na blinked as the girl seemed to give almost...supporting words to him, offering to help him try and find Masuta. The boy wasn't sure how to respond to all that. He had never actually been offered support before. He almost blanked on what to say. "W-Well, I-I have been getting some better cards. Maybe with these he'll give me a second chance." He gave a small smile, a welcome expression compared to his usual sad expression. "Thank you."----- Meanwhile, Masuta's spying had been rather rudely interrupted by some human who had approached him, asking him "where the boys were" or something like that. The demon fiend digimon looked over at him with a look of confusion on his one eyed face. "I have absolutely no idea what you're on about. Now if you don't mind, I'm in the middle of something." He looked back at that girl's partner. Dammit, will they stop talking to that idiot and go somewhere private?

Presently, there was no sufficient information being given to him except that this digimon was 'busy'. With what could a set of analytical data be busy with? Turning his gaze to the couple again, those of whom this small purple mongoloid had also been looking at. Maybe now he was getting an understanding at what was going on. Obviously, this was a rather elaborate set up to try to get two people together. What part did this rookie play in it though? Why was he so intrigued with whether these two met or not?
Kimura simply shook his head, it was probably best to break it to him. Crouching down next to the digital being, he looked back once more. "Look, I really gotta tell you. . . it's not gonna work. She's waaay out of his league. If you need some advice, I got you, lil' man," He spoke in regard to the current situation going on. As far as he knew, the ploy was this: Boy meets girl, girl interests herself in boy's problems. Girl lends her ear to the trials and tribulations and heartbreak, only to selflessly help boy. Classic tale of nurture and love. Should really go ahead and sell the script to lifetime, I'm telling you.
Given he hadn't really been paying attention to what they'd been doing, maybe he was wrong. Maybe this was just the right kind of pick me up the young lad needed to land the girl of his dreams. All this speculation only made it more interesting to him. "So, do you know these two?" Obvious questions abound, Kimura wanted to hear the rest of this poetic tale.

Seemingly, the teenager hadn't minded her bluntness. Welp, people surely could be weird when they proposed to, she guessed. Anyhow; at least he seemed to grow a little more confident, even if that probably didn't mean much when it came to this guy. "That's the spirit. Who knows, maybe your partner is watching you right now or something."
As creepy as the notion would be, Kasumi wasn't all that good in this cheering business. What actually managed to throw a little bit off balance was the fact that he seemed to be... thankful towards her? Nevermind the faint shade of pink that briefly invaded her cheeks. Not enough to get her flustered, but definitely not something she had expected. "No need to be thankful, really! I haven't done anything for you yet."
At least they had a starting point—now they just had to find the lil' bugger. "So... how does he look? Your partner, I mean. That'd be plenty helpful if you want for me to help you, I guess."
To be honest, the chances of the guy being here were slim at best. And their odds at actually finding him were even worse. But still, she had nothing better to do, and who knew. Maybe something exciting would happen.

"Well, still, thank you." Hisan'na replied. That fact she was offering to help was worthy of thank from him. Nobody else would do it. Now to give a description of him. "Well, he's small. Purple. Bipedal with claws and a tail. And he has one red eye," Hisan'na explained to her, "I believehe's called a Vemmon."----- You'd think that human would just leave. But no, instead he not only stuck around, he was now acting as if Masuta was playing matchmaker with them. The thought almost made the Vemmon puke. Were all humans this stupid? "Oh please. The scrawny sack of bones is barely worthy to wipe someone's feet, let alone her affection." Then an idea crept into his mind. "In fact, why don't you go over there and put a stop to it? I'm sure that girl would prefer someone like you over a loser like him." He would have smiled if he had a mouth. Maybe this dumb human could be of some use, at least as a distraction. To draw eyes away from her digimon partner.

Brows were raised as some harsh words were thrown around about the kid and this girl he was with. Not worthy to wipe the feet of others? Now that's some sengoku, behead your enemy after the siege is over type bullshit. Taking another look at him, sure, you could roast him on many details. The clothes he was wearing, his hairstyle, the pink fucking hair. Those were all choices he made that were ultimately his downfall in life, but he didn't really have time to fault him on it. Although, the digimon wasn't wrong-- Kimura definitely had a reputation as Mr. Steal Yo Girl.
Today was really not that day though, maybe it was time to shed some light on what Nightmare calls 'the bro code'. Putting his hand to his mouth and taking a deep inhalation of breath, he breathed out from his nose sharply. Within the next few seconds, that hand he placed on his mouth was now directly pointed at this virus, fingers together in a single palm. Only one word was spoken, "Boy." Honestly, this was in such constant use that most people would assume he was addressing another Nightmare crony right now. The set of data did fit the part, but something told him it's sinister nature was a bit far and beyond the fuckers he usually met up with.
"As much as you might be right in your insinuation there, you gotta let the boy try. Love is a fickle mistress and until you sail the curves on that river, you can't be certain. Ya need Yggdrasil," These were the type of stern, mentoring words that tell a young hothead to just fall back. Now that he was thinking about it, this lack of discipline and direct insults could have been pretty closely related. There's a link here, especially when Kimura thought about the fact that he never officially said whether or not he knew them. Obviously, if he's willing to say such things, maybe he shouldn't be so far from the action.
In one decisive action, disrespect was the way this would be handled. It started that way, it ends that way. Standing up at full attention, a single step was taken so that he hadn't been in the way of anyone's line of site from this digimon. Clearing his throat, he pointed down at the digital life form and quickly yelled out, "Yo, whose Mons is this!?"

Kasumi waved dismissively at the repeated thanks, but this time didn't do much else about it. If he kept thanking her and she kept rejecting those, they'd probably spend all the time remaining until the next round going through it so...
Both the teenager and her partner listened attentively to the digimon's description. If she had to make a wild guess, it definitely sounded like one of the digimos those Nightmare dudes tended to have, but that theory had been left behind long ago. "I guess that's specific enough. Lessee if we have any luck at finding him."
Apparently, they had been really lucky. Even through the crowd talking incessantly, the duo caught the guy pointing at a digimon that matched perfectly with the description given. Kasumi and Mirrormon stared at each other and just shrugged; that was a... pretty convenient coincidence; maybe too convenient. Better for them to be on their guard, just in case.
Turning back to her newest acquaintance, the redhead pointed where the other guy was. "Seems like somebody beat us to finding him. I'm not sure if that's your mon, but he sure looks a lot like the description you gave us, so... jackpot?"
