dang. Hideo found himself at a brick wall with this digimon. He'd made some progress finding out what his issues were, and the digimon was clearly willing to talk about it, but his refusal was firm. Looked like he'd have to find another way to get him to talk.
To his fortune, the standing stranger took him up on the offer to sit down, taking the seat that had been offered. It left Hideo in between the two of them, not that he minded. Situations like this were all-too-common back at home.
The stranger spoke about a woman, who sounded like she was in a pretty rough situation. But the stranger definitely did their hardest to make it sound like it was her fault she was like that. A pretty unfortunate thing to say - surely that just meant the woman was trying to get better?
At the very least, it did provoke the digimon into talking more about his partner. It sounded like his partner was a recluse that suddenly changed into a more active person once the digimon came into his life - but only to avoid the digimon. Sounded like the guy was the opposite of lazy if he put that much effort into staying away.
Hideo had been listening with such intent, thinking about what to say, that he didn't notice another set of footsteps get closer. He did hear the sound of flapping wings from above the bus station, but he just wrote it off as a bird taking a short rest.
Unbeknownst to him, someone had approached them mid-conversation. A man in his late-teens, whom KoKabuterimon may recognize as wearing the uniform of the Busters that attacked him earlier, and whom Fumi might recognize as that man hiding beforehand. And just above them was a Hawkmon, looking down upon them. Specifically, at KoKabuterimon. But neither made any move just yet.
"Maybe he's just scared of having a partner?" Hideo asked, completely oblivious to the two that just approached them. "I mean, something like that can be scary if you aren't ready for-"
Just then, he noticed the footsteps, right as they stopped right in front of the three of them. Oh no...was this a random bystander? Great, now he had to make an excuse for why there was some non-human creature sitting next to him talking about life. Maybe he could just say it was a really elaborate costume, or-
"You two. Step away from that digimon now."
Oh. He knew what digimon were. Well that got rid of that complication.
But why did he sound so authoritative? @freestyle Toshiro Emiya @anyone else» made by wizz

Fumi wore a difficult expression while he listened to Kabukabu's complaints─he'd decided he was going to call it a Kabukabu, for want of names. But this was definitely not a Digimon without a tamer. Fumi could tell by the way he talked about 'the human', and in any case, he'd never seen a Digimon wandering around without being someone's partner. The entire idea of tamers was somewhat silly, since the Digimon were pretty tame. Well, most of them. Excepting present company. "Well, I'd─" probably break that habit to avoid you, too, Fumi wanted to say. But he stopped when he noticed the Suspicious Person was now approaching them. And making demands, too. Fumi folded his arms, lowered his chin, reclined. "And why should we?" His stomach tightened. He licked his lips. "We're having a conversation here," Fumi drew out the word like he was talking to a toddler, "so get lost." Where's Cado? Dammit, where's the guy when I need him? This day really was getting worse. First... everything, now this? What was this Shinjuku guy doing here anyway? Fumi glanced at Kabukabu. He wasn't a Lacklustre, was he? Shot back to the Fluster. Eyes narrowed. "One of your friends?" he said to KoKabuterimon. Hideo Kino Toshiro Emiya

The kid had stuff to say, but unfortunately was interrupted by... Ugh.
"If I see another one of those ugly uniforms I'll bury it and whoever's wearing it 6 feet under. Understand, fucko? Piss off." Was the beetle's reaction to the newcomer, his eyes registering the by know familiar suit and prompting the immediate, violent reaction.
He didn't care if he was barely holding together his data as it was; he would not suffer more abuse from these pricks.
"No one in that ugly ass uniform is a friend o' mine." Grumbled the Beetle, narrowing his eyes as he cracked his knuckles, about ready to crack a skull if he had to.
The bench creaked soundly as the Beetle stepped off it, popping its neck before raising its knuckles. "Bring it, punk. I'll shove that overgrown parrot right up your poop deck." He hissed.

Oh dear.
KoKabuterimon did not seem to be happy to see this person. Like, he specifically hated the guy because of his uniform, swearing at him to get away under the threat of death. The digimon didn't seem like that bad of a guy, but for him to go off that radically meant he must've had a really good reason to be mad. But what could have made him that angry?Thankfully, he got an explanation when the person sitting next to him why the guy was telling them to get away."We found that digimon wandering on its own earlier today. Any digimon that wanders on its own in the morning risks revealing digimon to everyone. We tried to stop him, but he escaped before we could succeed. Any digimon that resists is to be labeled a rogue digimon..."
Oh, he thought this digimon was rogue? From what he was told by his siblings, hunting rogue digimon was a thing Busters did. Well, then it was just a silly misunderstanding! All he had to do was explain that he wasn't rogue and-
"...and as such, he is deemed a threat and must be eliminated."Oh. Oooooooh boy. Now he understood the situation they were in. This guy was telling them to get away from the KoKabuterimon because he wanted to kill him. And it didn't help that the digimon was egging the guy on, practically telling him he'd kick his butt - also revealing that the bird that he heard before was actually a digimon.
Hideo was able to bottle up his panic. Someone was going to get hurt if he let this go on. He had to act, and fast.
"Nobody needs to hurt anyone!" he asserted, standing up and moving between the digimon and this Buster fellow. "This is just a misunderstanding! He's not a rogue-"
Before he could finish, the Buster fellow grabbed him by the wrist, pulling him away from his the bus stop - and leaving an easy opening for the bird digimon to jump down to. "Last warning: get away from the digimon. Move now or you'll risk being caught in the crossfire." And order no doubt for the other human with them.
The situation was reaching a boiling point. Any moment, and fight would break out. He knew he had to stop it, so he blurted out the one thing that he knew would give the Buster pause:
"He's my partner! Don't attack him!"
A moment of silence. No orders to attack, no sounds of any attacks going off. He didn't know if the guy actually bought it, but it did make him hesitate. And that was enough to start de-escalating things.
He didn't know that the Buster was looking at him now, but it was easy to guess he had the guy's attention. "He's a KoKabuterimon. He's here because he was worried that I hadn't come home yet, so he wanted to make sure that I was safe. He's not a rogue digimon!" His voice cracked a little at the end of that - purely intentional. He knew that would make him sound more concerned about the digimon's condition, and that would make his lie seem more true.
The lie did have honest emotion behind it, though. He just thought of it like it was Kuki that had been attacked and being accused of being a rogue digimon. And she was probably legitimately worried about him not coming home on time. He had to hope that she wasn't in a similar situation as the KoKabuterimon. @freestyle Toshiro Emiya @anyone else» made by wizz

Yeah! Get the Shinjuku Buster! Fumi has to stop himself from cheering on KoKabuterimon, and nearly lets slip a 'Yeah!' more than once. And it's a good thing no one's friends with a Shinjuku Buster. He prefers being dead over being an SB, and who wants to die? Some people, he figures. That's why one's standing in front of them right now. But then comes a sudden and surprising declaration from the kid, and Fumi stares at him blankly for a few moments before realisation hits him: the kid's lying! It makes sense. It makes perfect sense. And the Shinjuku Buster now has a frown on his face. Opens his mouth, frowns again. "Well?" Fumi starts. "Didn't I tell you? We're having a con-ver-sa-tion." He says it in the way you'd say, 'I just yanked out an SR in the gacha! Score!'. He admires the kid's quick thinking and bold insistence. Why hasn't he thought of that, Fumi asks himself. And the answer is, of course, obvious─because he's one of the world's worst liars. Toshiro EmiyaHideo Kinosoz, got busy for a while. ;_;

The buster was a dead man walking as far as the beetle was concerned. He would shove the parrot so far up the guy's ass he would puke feathers.
Or well, that was the plan at least. Unfortunately, small child -Hideo- had other plans, which did not include violence. Pity.
Kokabuterimon had to bite his tongue to stop himself from immediately screaming 'what' at the boy, catching onto the boy's idea quickly enough. The lie was rushed and made on the spot, but there was little way for the other person to disprove Hideo's claims.
Much like Fumi, KoKabuterimon took this as a chance to openly antagonize the Buster.
"Well? You heard him. Nothing to see here, punk. Piss off!" hissed the Beetle at the man, waving his large hand in a dismissive manner at him. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find some other innocent digimon to harass out there. Break a leg, ass."

His plan seemed to be working. The Buster hadn't immediately said anything in response, and his digimon hadn't shouted out any attacks. Nobody sounded like they were trying to punch or claw at each other, so that was good.
The Buster's grip loosened around the child's wrist, enough that it didn't hurt anymore. Just as the boy was about to free himself from the man's grasp, the two guys he'd been talking to just had to feel compelled to taunt the man. The stranger, was more just saying how he had butted into a conversation.
The KoKabuterimon played along with Hideo's claim, but he just had to threaten the Buster again. He was sure the digimon had plenty of reason to be annoyed with this guy, but if he had just restrained himself a little more, then the Buster would have left right then and there. But no. When Hideo tried to walk back to his seat, the man didn't tell him go, still holding on to him.
"I'm not entirely convinced you're innocent," the Buster retorted, "You should know as well as anyone that running around in the middle of the day is the one thing you should not be doing. There can be terrible consequences if non-tamers find out about digimon being real."
On that last sentence, he squeezed Hideo's wrist, causing the boy to wince. The meaning he implied was clear to the boy - keep digimon a secret, or he'd get into a lot of trouble with the Busters.
Crap. This was starting to get out of control. Now everybody was at risk at whatever consequences the Buster had in store for him. Hideo had to think of something quick, before they all got into serious trouble.
"Please don't get mad at him," he whimpered, hoping to calm the man down, "He's just trying to keep an eye on me. I had to stay late at school, and he was just worried I was lost - or worse." It was a bit of a gamble, since he had no idea if the Buster heard any part of their conversation. But if he believed that he was this KoKabuterimon's tamer, then he had missed enough.
A sigh escaped from the Buster. "Even so," he said, "That's no excuse for breaking the rules. Your partner should be well aware of the trouble he may bring going out on his own. And if this is how he behaves, then he's more likely to get you into trouble than to keep you out of it."
"So tell me," the man continued, looking towards Fumi this time, "Do you have a digimon of your own? Or have these two broken the rules that all tamers are meant to follow?"

Nishikata Fumi lets slip a 'Yeah!' at Kobukobu's words despite himself. He tries not to, but Fumi grins besides himself. His confident grin remains even as the Buster starts questioning him. Because the answer is easy, and obvious. "Sure I do. Fanbe--" he starts, then substitutes, " Waspmon isn't here though. Since he's at home. Best bath house in Tokyo, if you're wondering." Well, it's not. It's actually one of the worst. But Fumi's not telling you that. "Wouldn't want anyone to find him. Or her, actually. You know, I never really asked. Damn, maybe it's actually a girl. "Say, how can you tell if a Digimon's a boy or a girl?" Fumi asks Kobukabu. Hideo Kino Toshiro Emiya

The buster began to apply pressure to Hideo's wrists. And then found himself with a massive, chitin covered arm clamping down onto his own wrist, though with the size of the thing, it was more like it was clamping onto his entire forearm. " Oi, Punk." Muttered the KoKabuterimon as he looked up at the man, his face unreadable as he squeezed at the man's forearm ever so gently. It caused the bone to creak lowly under the pressure, the skin bruising because of the tight hold. " If you keep hurting my tamer, I'll break you." He said in a matter of factly tone, as he reached with his other hand for one of the posts holding up the bus stop. And squeezed it until the imprint of his fingers was left onto the iron. " I dunno, we don't have any of your human junk. It's an identity thing, I guess?" He suddenly piped up without warning, looking over his shoulder at the pink haired youth as he did. No cards.

whew. The stranger gave the best possible answer: they outright named a digimon instead of just a simple "yes". It wasn't one that he heard of, though something named after a wasp must have been quite the digimon. Though he had to wonder - he noticed the guy was about to say something else. 'Fanbee' was all that got out before changing to Waspmon. Was this person going to say the name of a different digimon?
Whatever the case, he hoped that would be enough to convince the Buster to leave them alone...
If only the KoKabuterimon hadn't taken hold of the man's arm like that. Hideo couldn't see it happen, but the way the Buster grunted in pain and the digimon made a threat gave him a pretty good idea what was going on.
And to think, just a moment ago, he was trying to stop the Buster from hurting the KoKabuterimon.
"H-hey!" he stammered out, "You don't have to do anything rash, KoKa." A quick nickname he thought up - to make it seem like they were were tamer and partner. "He's not hurting me at all! Just let him go."
"Do. As. He. Says," the Buster said, though Hideo noticed that his hand was starting to shake around his wrist. He had to wonder - what was the Buster's Digimon doing in all this? To the others, the moment KoKabuterimon dented the metal with his grasp was when the Hawkmon backed off, evidently uninterested in being anywhere near someone with that much grip strength.
The Buster suddenly sounded much less confident. "...when I count to three, I'll let go of his wrist. And when I say three, you better let my arm go."
"One." Hideo couldn't help but feel a little nervous: the KoKabuterimon was being a lot more aggressive than he thought. If his intimidation attempt hadn't worked, then this would have lead to an outright brawl with two humans in the middle.
"Two." But then again, the KoKabuterimon was smart enough to play along with his bluff, and he was playing the part of a partner pretty well. Kuki probably would have had a similar reaction in this situation, though she'd be much less hands-on about it.
"Three." And just as the Buster promised, he let Hideo go, though the boy stood in place. The child was mostly anxious about the digimon not keeping his word and possibly starting a fight. But just as important, he wasn't sure where everything was - that Buster pulled him a fair ways back, and he was unsure where he was relative to the bus stop, let alone the two digimon.
This situation would resolve by the time he could get his cane out to check, so he'd just have to see what came of it. @freestyle Toshiro Emiya @anyone else» made by wizz

Fumi felt fine. But he was rapidly starting to feel considerably less fine, and had begun edging away from the KoKabuterimon when he started violence. It wasn't as though Nishikata Fumi was the squeamish sort who shied away from any sort of violence, and who preached pacifism whenever a soap box presented itself. But there was something about the unpredictability of a wild Digimon (by now, Fumi was seriously considering this possibility) going out and using their force. It was like watching an adorable doggy, who rapidly becomes less adorable as it starts mauling the faces of nearby passers-by. So Fumi scraped his throat, and considered a hundred things he could say. 'Let go', or 'We're all friends here' or even 'While you're dying I'll be still alive'. But his voice wouldn't come out, and in the end he blurted out a few garbled vowels and consonants, which came out somewhere in the area of, "Wargblgah." And he stared aghast at the scene. No cards.
KoKabuterimon was confused, to say the least. He had expected Hideo and pink-hair to cheer him on, or at least Pink-hair, who had been a bit more agreeable once he started getting rowdy with the Buster.
Now Hideo wanted him to let go of the guy and pink-hair looked sick in the stomach, making strange sounds with his mouth that barely seemed like something humans could utter.
The Buster had begun counting, but frankly, KoKabuterimon wasn't really paying much attention, simply considering his options. He really didn't like Busters anymore, and he kind of wanted pay back for all the hurt they gave him earlier.
1.
Just one swing of his arm the guy would be nothing but a bloody splatter on the asphalt. It wouldn't accomplish much and it would likely get him into a deathly encounter with the Hawkmon, but it would be oh so cathartic.
2.
Maybe He should consider the boy's point of view in all of this. He was already in enough trouble after claiming to be his partner, it really wouldn't do to get him into further trouble with the entirety of the Busters by killing one of them while acting as his partner...
3.
Oh, the buster was letting go of the kid's arm. KoKabuterimon found himself reciprocating the gesture, his large knuckles letting go of the tamers forearm before walking towards the kid, looking over the kid's own wrist.
"You okay?" He asked, holding the child's arm. He had absolutely no idea of how the human body worked or how it reacted to harm, beyond blood. If the wound wasn't an open gash releasing blood all over the place, he couldn't tell if there was something wrong.

No fighting. No sound of people swiping cards or moving in for an attack. No sound of metal being bent or bones being broken. No shouting or yelling. Just the sound of the Buster backing off, and the rather heavy KoKabuterimon approaching the boy, grabbing hold of his arm and asking him if he was alright. And the other guy that was there making a rather unusual noise.
It startled Hideo, though it didn't make his already-racing heart beat any faster. It was the first time he actually came into contact with the rookie, and he could feel why the Buster was so startled: they didn't feel like fingers so much as big metal talons. His hand wandered over to the digimon's arm, and he could feel a smooth exoskeleton, not unlike Kuki's when she was in her rookie form. And unless this digimon just had really big hands, this would be the biggest rookie he met.
A small ache ran through his wrist, and he realized the digimon asked how he was wrist was. "It's alright," he replied, moving it around just to get a good idea how it really was. It hurt a bit, and for the others to see, it was a little red around where the Buster was holding him, but it wasn't broken. Just sore, maybe for a day or two.
"I'll let you off with a warning this time," the Buster said, but his voice was wavering much more than before, as if it were going to crack at any moment. "Don't cause trouble again. The Busters will be watching." It would look as if he wanted to say something else, but he remained silent, instead just walking away as his digimon flew off, the two soon out of sight.
The moment he stopped hearing their footsteps, Hideo spoke up. "Sorry for pulling that on you. I know you might not have a good relationship with your tamer, but it was the only thing I could think of that would definitely stop him from hurting you." Even if it was to protect the digimon, it was a pretty rude thing to do, or so he believed. Like forcing someone to pretend they were your friend so you could bully them.
And he couldn't forget about the person on the bench, who made such an odd noise. That person freaked out just from seeing KoKabuterimon walking around; he must have been super stressed-out from this whole affair. Claiming to be the digimon's partner must have made it escalate like that, so Hideo couldn't help but think he was somewhat responsible for this person's distress. "Sorry for giving you such a hard time," he apologized, "I should've been a bit more careful. I didn't think it would escalate like that."
He started to wonder how much time had passed between the digimon appearing and now. If the bus wasn't here by now, it would be coming at any moment. The other guy probably had a pass or some money with him, but he doubted the digimon had any, especially if he walked all the way here from Shibuya. "Won't be long for the bus to get here. It costs money to go on it if you don't have a bus pass...I can lend you some if you want." @freestyle Toshiro Emiya » made by wizz
