Just a nice, quiet afternoon at the bus stop close to his school. It wasn't too hot, it wasn't too cold, and there was a nice breeze that came by every now and then. The sun was still in the sky shining brightly, but it wouldn't be long until it began to set. Normally, either his parents would've picked him up if he had to stay this late, but they told him they'd be busy tonight. He tried getting in contact with his siblings, but the ones who even answered his calls wouldn't get the chance to get him in a while. He wasn't mad, though. They probably had digimon business to deal with - which in retrospect, was likely why they couldn't pick him up all those other times. It wasn't the first time he had to take the bus back home, so he knew where to go and what to do. He sat at the station, a small bus stop that was surprisingly well-maintained despite how remote it was. It was just a single bench surrounded by 3 walls of glass, each one plastered pictures or advertisements he couldn't read, save for one, a map with braille on it. He was the only one there - not even Kuki was there to keep him company. He didn't have anything digimon-related with him. His digivice and cards were sitting at home in his room; what would be the point of bringing those with him to school? It had taken some effort to convince his digimon that no, he couldn't bring her to school with him, and that she'd have to wait for him to come back. He didn't think he could convince his teacher to let her out or subtly feed her at lunch time. There was no way he could make her feel comfortable and experience what his school life was like at the same time. So it was just him there, with his schoolbag on his back and his red-tipped cane folded on his lap. It'd be a while until the bus arrived. He didn't mind just sitting there and relaxing until then. Just listening to nature and the occasional passerby walk by was fine to him, though having someone to talk to wouldn't hurt. But this was a pretty remote area. Who else was here that also needed the bus? He began to hum a small tune to himself, a catchy little song from a show Nep made him listen to just the other day. @anyone » made by wizzNo cards or digivice (or digimon)~

It was a bad day, and Fumi was smiling. That it was a bad day somewhat went without saying, since Fumi had counted fifty-seven bad days since he had arrived in Tokyo, now fifty-seven days ago. But that day was a particularly bad day. It wasn't because he'd caught his aunt drunk again, hanging over the toilet bowl bawling about... about being old, and not being married, and feeling absolutely, terrifyingly lonely and that Fumi should hug her. If anything, that sight alone would send any reasonable thinking man running straight for the hills. It was a precursor, he later found, to more troubles. Whether it was being called on, on just the passage he hadn't gone over with a fine comb; or mistakenly hurtling into the wrong bathroom; or being too late to get his favourite bread; there was little reason to call it a good day. So he'd decided he wouldn't go home. Would avoid his aunt just for the day. Rang her up, told her he'd be late. To eat without him. Then Fumi'd hopped into the first train he could find, jumped off at a random station, then repeated the same process until he was utterly, completely and finally well lost. Now, he was walking down a street he didn't know, with a big smile plastered on his face; it was all he could do to keep from huddling up and lamenting his sad day all by his lonesome. And in any case, Nishikata Fumi wasn't a crybaby. Don't let anyone think otherwise. He took in a deep breath, blew it out slowly, mumbled a good luck charm for himself. Then he noticed a hum. Fumi followed the source, down to a little boy sitting by his lonesome at a bus stop. Didn't look like there were many people nearby, though he caught sight of some shady guy looking on from a distance. He didn't give that much thought. Fumi ambled on over, looked around him once, then stuck his hands deep in his pockets. "Your friends left you by ya'self, too?" he asked, a bit sourly. He bit his lip. "I mean, I wasn't left behind. Really. But uh..." He couldn't see the shady guy. "Well. Y'know." Hideo Kino

Was there something wrong with him?
Sometimes it felt like there was. He no stronger now than he had been when he first arrived. His tamer wanted nothing to do with him, preferring to abandon his sedentary lifestyle just to get away from him.
And while trying to find him, the beetle had gotten his ass kicked by a couple of very zealous, mean tamers.
His body hurt all over, and every step he took felt like it would be the last before he toppled over and dissolved. There was no tamer around to worry or take care of him, and even if he found his way 'home', if it could be called that, his 'tamer' wouldn't do anything to help.
He didn't remember much of the digital world, but he hoped his reasons for moving had been good ones.
Because so far, he hated the human world, he hated the digimon tamers, and he hated how nothing ever seemed to go the way he wanted.
Such as the fact he didn't know where he was, or where he was going.
The large beetle suddenly stopped walking, its large knuckles tightening into fists as it glared down at the sidewalk, a bus stop near by. A couple of humans were there, though they didn't register in the Beetle's perception.
"I hate this."
Downtrodden and completely defeated, the bug dropped his butt onto the bench besides the boy, the seat soundly creaking under its weight.

Even with the sound of his humming ringing out, Hideo could still hear the sounds of cars passing by a few streets away, or the sounds of some nearby bushes rustling - probably just some animal passing through. It wasn't that hard to notice the footsteps of some people passing by.
But he did notice that one set of footsteps get closer and closer to him before stopping. He stopped his humming, wondering who it was, though he didn't turn his head to check. They were close, but he couldn't tell how close.
But it became obvious where the person was when they spoke. He couldn't tell if it was a girl or a guy talking to him, but they were older than he was. Just a simple question asking if he was left here by his friends.
With the way the person said it, it didn't seem like a taunt. There was actually a lot of information he could infer just by the way this person was acting and talking: they said "too", meaning they probably ditched by their own friends. The small contradiction they then made only served to strengthen his belief. So, this person was just trying to make some awkward small-talk. That was fine - he didn't mind the company.
"I wasn't left here by anyone," he said, a smile on his face, though he didn't make any effort to look towards the person, his eyes closed as always. "I'm here because it's a bus stop. I'm waiting for the bus to get here."
He scooted down on the bench, patting the spot where he had been sitting. "I don't know when it'll get here, but you can sit here if you want. Do you mind keeping me company until then?...or are you also here for the bus?"
Just as he said that, he heard a heavier set of footsteps get closer, coming from the other side of the bus stop. They stopped for a moment before the source uttered something unfortunate, then plopped right down on a spot next to Hideo. He must've been a big guy, because when he sat down, the bench bent under his weight, every-so-slightly sliding the boy towards him.
Well. He didn't sound happy. "What's wrong?" he asked, hoping to find out just what was making this guy's day so bad. "You're not here for the bus too, are you?" Not really what he wanted to know, but maybe it'd get the guy to open up about what was bugging him. @freestyle Toshiro Emiya @anyone else» made by wizz

"I'm not here for the bus," Fumi answered immediately. "Not anyone creepy, either. I'm not, I mean. Y'know, I just..." He let his gaze wander as his voice trailed off. Would it be creepy to say he talked to the boy because he saw some creep somewhere? Was that even appropriate among Tokyoites? Would the boy's parents call the police on him? This was the big city. Tokyo with a capital T. The place where dreams came true, and where there were more weirdos clustered in a shop in Akihabara than the entiriety of Kamakura. He rubbed the back of his neck and cleared the throat, but before Fumi spoke again he noticed another figure ambling on over. His jaw nearly dropped and his eyes nearly bulged. "Wh- what are you doing?" he squeaked at the sight of a Digimon plopping itself right down beside the boy. What if anyone was looking? Wasn't this guy thinking? Was it even a guy? Who cared! This was big news. Big trouble. Trouble with a capital T! Luckily the boy didn't notice! How did the boy not notice?! He felt his hand grow clammy and removed it from his neck. Rubbed it against his leg, then through his hair. Fumi gulped. "W- weeell, um, I need to─" What? Nishikata Fumi settled for eloquently groaning and clutching his stomach. Hideo Kino Toshiro Emiya

"Wha-?" The bug startled as sudden, squeaked words were thrown his way. A pair of humans he had failed to notice in his pained, depressed slump were staring at him with shock and what appeared to be fear.
"What am I do-?! And who the hell is asking?!" snapped the bug, his foul mood and already short temper coming together like oil and fire.
His previous assessment wasn't correct. One was looking at him with shock and (what he supposed was) fear. The other -A small, clearly young human- wasn't even looking at him.
Didn't stop him from speaking at him, though.
"The Bus?" He looked at his surroundings, realizing he was not sitting on a simple bench as he had thought. Not that he recognized the bus station for what it was, but it clearly had a purpose, with the way it was designed.
"... I don't wanna talk about it. My life just sucks." He responded to the boy, his voice still sour though not nearly as heated. He wasn't about to tell his life story to this complete stranger, no matter how well he was taking the appearance of a digimon compared to just about everyone else he had met.
"... Does this bus lead to Shibuya?" He asked. He didn't think he would be able to make it home on foot today, he was too tired and at night, tamers got even more numerous.
The bug's temper began to ignite quickly as the other human nervously fumbled and stumbled upon his words. Rude; he may have been a digimon, but he wasn't some damn Greymon damn it, he wasn't this scary!
"You are...? What, what is it kid!?" he looked at the way the boy(?) ran a hand through their leg, then held onto their stomach. "Uh... Need a bathroom?" He guessed bluntly.

Well, it sounded like both of the people that came by were going to make this a very interesting wait.
The person that was still standing seemed surprised by something. If he had to guess, it was because of the guy sitting down bending the seat with his weight. Which admittedly, was pretty surprising, but he'd already experienced some surprising things in the past week or so.
The guy sitting next to him definitely sounded like something was bugging him. He even admitted that he was having problems, but was staying tight-lipped about them. That wasn't going to do for the boy - if this guy was having issues with life, then just leaving him alone would be the wrong thing to do. "I'm sure the bus'll go to Shibuya," Hideo said, looking towards the guy with his eyes shut, "but it'll be some time 'till it gets here. Until then, why don't you tell me what's going on?"
He heard the standing person groan, and the guy sitting next to him as if he needed to use the bathroom. He sounded pretty nervous, and he definitely sounded uncomfortable. Seemed kind of sudden to be having indigestion, but he'd help the only way he knew how.
"If you need to use the bathroom," he began, standing up with his folded can under one arm, walking to the right side of the bus stop, "then there's one you can go to nearby." He pointed to the right, the way to the bathroom clear in his mind - he had to use it a few times before himself. "Just go that way until you see a right turn. Go down there and there should be a public bathroom to the left."
Hopefully, those directions were good enough.
He went back to his seat next to the sad guy, his hands down on each side to keep himself balanced on the bench, hoping to make a little progress. Maybe he could get him to open up if he introduced himself. "So what's your name? Mine's Hideo." @freestyle Toshiro Emiya @anyone else» made by wizz

"Nrgghhhgh," Fumi said. "I don't need the bathrooooom, it's just..." Just what? No problem, kid, you're just talking to a giant beetle, most normal thing in the world? Some people just─ That's it! It wasn't any of his fault. If someone discovered the Digimon, he'd just feign ignorance. No, sir, he had no idea. Just figured it was a talking toy or something. And whoever was really responsible ought to know better. Was it a solo Digimon? Then he ought to know not to do that. And if it was someone else's Digimon... Fumi scraped his throat and unpocketed his mobile phone. He started tapping away at it furiously. "A, anyway, I'm fine. I just had a minor..." He peeked at the Digimon. "... crisis." Content that the kid was just going to have a word with the Digimon, and that for some reason the kid didn't notice (was he blind or something?), Fumi composed a nice little message and posted it. Hopefully whoever owned that thing would come running to collect it. And otherwise, well... He was just gonna feign ignorance. Yeah. Fumi cleared his throat again. Coughed into his hand and pocketed the phone again. He kept a sideways glance at the duo beside him, but also surveyed the area for any weird looks. "This doesn't weird you out at all?" What an awfully insistent kid. Cute though, KoKabuterimon wouldn't get any satisfaction from bashing his face in for being so nosy.
"You wouldn't understand, human child." He told him simply, grunting slightly as he felt a sharp pain on his side. His large hand reached around to hold his hurting torso, the bug taking a deep breath and trying to ignore he pain.
He tried to ignore the pinkette, not quite understanding them. They claimed they didn't need the bathroom, but their moaning mirrored Shirou's after eating some bad chili quite accurately.
Whatever crisis he had averted, KoKabuterimon could only hope it would keep any more weird, incomprehensible comments away in the near future.
"Why would this be weird?" Asked the digimon flatly, not quite comprehending the human. It was clear they knew what he was, regular humans flipped their shit far harder when they saw a Beetle the size of a 4-wheeler walk up to them.
He turned his head towards the child. He knew what a digimon was, clearly, he wasn't flipping his shit at the sight of him after all. Couldn't he recognize his species by appearance?

while Hideo did wonder why the standing person was having such an unusual reaction if he didn't have to use the bathroom, the truth became apparent very quickly.
The first hint was that the man sitting next to him referred to him as a "human child". He didn't know any people that would refer to someone by their race first. This compounded with the standing person's distress probably meant that this guy wasn't actually human. And as far as he knew, there was only one kind of creature that could walk and talk like a human without being human.
But what made the truth obvious was when the guy said his name. KoKabuterimon. Everything made sense now - his weight, the standing stranger's overreactions, the weird terminology he was using. "Oh!" he exclaimed, "You're a digimon!"
Upon the digimon's question, Hideo actually giggled a little. "Yes, actually. I am blind." He'd made no effort to hide it. Was it not obvious by the fact he never opened his eyes? Then again, maybe digimon were less familiar with how humans perceived the world.
Still, the other person seemed pretty concerned over the whole deal. "Well, not really. I have a digimon of my own, and I've met other digimon before. Meeting another here isn't that strange."
He wouldn't leave the digimon's concerns unaddressed. "You can tell me what's going on!" he exclaimed, "Are you lost? Did you lose track of your tamer? I can try and help you find them."
He paused for a moment, then looked towards the standing boy. His reactions were actually pretty consistent with someone seeing a monster for the first time. "Hey...uh...you know what Digimon are, right? We aren't really supposed to talk about them with people that don't have any." Though it was already too late to hide that this was a digimon. How would he excuse a bench-bending creature like this anyways?

If his normal life was a rollercoaster, then today it had derailed from its tracks and gone for a free diving trip. All his exasperation and frustration and worry washed away like castles in the sand when the little boy revealed he was actually a tamer, like the rest of them. Oh thank the heavens. Fumi could not help but send a small prayer to above. "I─ I know what a Digimon is. Definitely. It's─ urghghghgh," said Fumi. "Never mind. Just... never mind. Can't do nothing now *. "Urgh, I just can't catch a break," he added, but moreso to himself than anyone else. It wasn't lost on Fumi that the kid had casually dropped that he was blind, but the boy hadn't much of an idea how to respond to that. Ought he to say, 'Oh I see' and then go 'Well, can't be helped'? So he said nothing. He whipped out his phone and tapped it a few times. His eyes weren't on the phone, though. He was still surveying the area, and only half-heartedly followed the conversation with the two. Figured he might as well move on─with the kid having the Digimon for company, there was little chance of any shady fellows making a move. In the first place, it'd probably been a stupid thing. What were the odds of there really being someone preying on kids? Come on, Fumi. This is still Japan. We're nice to people.

"Oh." Uttered the Beetle, staring at the child blankly. The boy's casual delivery had left the digimon at a loss for words, clearly.
"... Sorry for saying anything." mumbled the digimon, turning his gaze towards his lap and falling silent.
He decided to simply suffer his misery in silence while he waited for the bus. He probably shouldn't let all the people in the transport actually see him, being a digimon and all.
But he just didn't care at the moment. He wanted to get home quickly and just sleep without having to fear getting killed.
Honestly, the human world wasn't all that different from the digital World so far.
Unfortunately, the little human insisted on prying on his private business. At least the other human had the decency to just leave the beetle be.
The insect shifted his gaze towards the boy, staring at him flatly. Not that the kid could tell.
Bah, whatever. He had been kind of a dick before to the blind child. Least he could do was offer some vague answer.
"I am not lost." Yes he was. "And I didn't lose track of my human, if that's what you mean. I ain't a pet, I've no tamer." He huffed, crossing his arms while looking away with a huff.
"I just... went out of a walk. Yeah. To clear my head... and stuff. Cause that useless human pisses me off." His large fists clenched tightly, the natural chitin armor in his fists creaking soundly under the force.

"It's fine!" Hideo hastily blurted out upon hearing the digimon's apology. "Don't feel bad about asking. It's not everyday that you meet someone that can't see." Really, it was understandable that he might feel uneasy asking about it - who wouldn't feel awkward asking about someone's disability?
He'd just hope they wouldn't treat him any different because of that. Unlikely, but he could hope. "You can talk to me just like anyone else."
The guy standing up still seemed to be in a panic, but at least he admitted to knowing about what digimon were. He seemed to be tapping on something - likely a phone - for whatever reason. Probably texting someone about something. No way for him to tell, but it was probably best if he helped calm the guy down. He once again patted down on a spot next to him opposite of the KoKabuterimon, repeating the offer he made before: "Here. Take a seat. You might feel better if you sit down for a bit."
His head turned back to the digimon as the latter began to speak. The digimon protested that he had no partner and was all on his own, and sounded quite exasperated by needing to explain that. And yet, he quickly contradicted himself by mentioning a "useless human" who was a "lazy jerk". Sounded like he did have a tamer, but they had a pretty poor relationship. Poor guy.
It sounded like he actually had quite a bit of pent-up anger at his partner. As risky as it would've sounded if he told someone aloud, he wanted to get this guy to open up some more. It'd help him find some kind of way to make him feel better, possibly even find out why their relationship was so damaged in the first place. He was already starting to open up, so it didn't seem like it would be hard to get him to reveal some more.

"No, I'll be fine," Fumi said. He didn't mean to snap, but all the same it came out a bit snappier than he'd intended. "Sorry," he added. Something about the beetlemon hit him in places that didn't often get hit. It reminded him a little of himself, and he couldn't help but titter at that thought. It left a wry smile on his face. "Actually, lemme take you up on that." He patted down the spot before he lowered himself. "And you know, I've met some bastards too," he continued, nodding to the beetle. "Just this morning. Bawling her eyes out, she was. 'Waaah, look at me, I'm a mess!'─" Fumi made an unflattering mockery of his aunt's voice, "─like she's not doing it to herself, anyhow. And then she complains I find her lazy." He snorted. "Don't it get you riled up?" Normally, he wasn't one to complain. But something about the situation made him want to chime in, even if only to talk about his own situation a bit. And truth be told, he could sympathise anyway with grievances because of lazy people. "Stop asking personal stuff." Grumbled the beetle at the boy, crossing his arms in annoyance. The kid was nice and all, but he really had a stubborn string for a little human so cute looking and nice.
Fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on how one looked at it, the pinkette boy seemed to take the offer given to him by the boy when he noticed it appeared to come with a free chance to talk about his personal problems.
Fantastic. They could all just talk about their shitty lives and exchange meaningless platitudes about how everything would get better.
He felt a tinge of annoyance as the pinkette spoke. It certainly wasn't the fact that the human had desired to share his troubles with them. He could deal with that; better him than KoKabuterimon, as far as the beetle was concerned.
It was more the implication that his partner was like whoever the pinkette was describing.
"It's not-! It's not like that... ugh." The beetle sighed, rubbing at his chitin covered temples. Somehow, it looked like he would be speaking about his problems after all, in a sense. "He is lazy, yes. But he is not mopey. He is not sad. Or happy. Or anything. He is just there. Or he used to be." He lowered his gaze back to its large fists, squeezing them tightly.
"He never seemed to feel much of anything when I first met him. 'But the longer I stayed... Well. Now he always looks... irritated when I'm around." He finished with a mumble. "He used to be a recluse who never left his room. Ever since I got here, he has actually started taking walks. Go figure. The guy would rather break his years long habits than spend a few minutes around me."
