Jinbocho was one of her favorite places in Chiyoda-ku. Quaint and full of old treasures that one just needed an eye for. Simply walking down the streets and peering into windows one could get sucked into the histories of the past. Not that Sayako thought much of the past these days. She reminisced, it was true, but every time she looked in the window panes to see that girl with the blond and carefully kept flower dress and white scarf, she only saw the present. And when she saw the glimpse of the ears, golden rings and sleepy eyes of a digimon curled hidden within the scarf and around her neck, she only saw the future. She smiled at her reflection. 'He's so cute ❤.'But today was a day for the past. As she strolled into the library with her beige flats, she took a deep breath. Through the grapevine she had never been particularly great at using, she had heard word of a certain familiar person working these parts. Just a hunch. They said she looked quite different, but that was understandable after everything that had happened, and the weeks that had gone by with scarce contact. Sayako strolled up to the counter where the librarian's head was obscured behind some books. "Excuse me, I was hoping you could help me find a book?"Soma Koma i just wanted my name in a star. now look at where we at, still growing up

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]Soma didn't read. Not much and certainly not anything this old, usually. Be that as it may, she still found solace surrounded by books. Working as a librarian in Jinbocho got about as strenuous as stocking books, because it certainly wasn't the customers. In fact, it had given her plenty of time to get most of those books put away, summer homework finally winding down. All she had left was a sizable stack of textbooks. Surely though some kid would be here in a week or two when school started to take all of them.[break][break] She knew cause that would've been her only 4 years ago.[break][break] Contrary to most belief, an empty library still made plenty of sounds. Old stresses in the shelves and book bindings relieved themselves in the utterly weighty air. The little table fan by her laptop ruffled a few of her papers. Soon, there'd be the fall release season. There were a few series sequels that she'd been asked to get, new encyclopedias...but the money was just not there, even for what little there was to get. She could ask the owner about another fundraiser.[break][break] She forced her pencil flat on her desk and swung around. Working here reminded her of high school, with the return to being frugal and budget-minded. She couldn't stand it, being hampered like that. She didn't want to continue to lose business because she couldn't get those books. She got on her feet and shut down the laptop and in the dark mirror, she could see an equally depressing sight. Now, black was a lovely color, but for her, and in this conservative turtleneck, pencil skirt outfit and small, wire frame glasses, she looked like an absolute spinster. Aside from the blond, front-braided hair.[break][break] Then again, that was the point.[break][break] The textbooks however, had bested her in greating this new customer. A routine question that, as Soma began raise herself to face them fully, she had answered thousands of times.[break][break] The sight robbed her of a solemn expression and her words. That hair. The eyes. Her hands was clutched over her braid like a rosary, ready to have a stroke on the spot. The other hand went up to cover a confused smile. All those texts she'd never answered, all that life and friendship she had hoped to ignore. She'd managed to brush off the occasional "Do I know you?" but this was different.[break][break] "Sayako." It was barely a whisper, even by library standards. It was mangled too, in the spasms that came with the tears that pushed past her glasses.[break][break] The hand around her mouth finally fell away. It was so weak, that smile there. Hopefully Sayako could forgive her lack of cheer.[break][break] Deck: [break] Clean Up[break] Petit Fire Blaster[break] Search Engine[break] Expansion x2[break] Lightning Knife[break] Meteor Wing[break] Gomamon S[break] Ravenous Hunt[break] Overdrive[break] Goliath[break] Mass Accelorator[break] Wild Card[break] First Aid[break] [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

Seeing someone else tear up like that always made herself do so, as well. Too much empathy that in many circumstances become the ill-wanted too sensitive. But right now, it was just fine. All the memories and feelings floating downstream and she was picking them out of the water one by one. She had opened her mouth to respond, but pink lips bit down on themselves as her eyes started to water. Hastily Sayako rubbed at them and stifled a sniffle. In her scarf, she could feel her Roku shift in surprise at her mood change, though he remained hidden. He had never met Soma, after all. "I—I was wondering if she could walk me to wherever you keep Kafka on the Shore? I'm... I'm not good with technology."Sayako carried on as if they hadn't known each other at all, as if a place like the librarian's front desk wasn't the perfect place for a long-awaited reunion. But the watery smile meant all the otherwise. Soma Koma i just wanted my name in a star. now look at where we at, still growing up

[nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]There it was. That deep seeded understanding of emotion that Soma had come to love. How easy it was to feed happiness to her and receive it in turn. She hurt with Soma. She had laughed with Soma. They had even been paired on several projects. Back before Soma quit, when the production company wanted to make a group, they could not keep the two apart, even in the days when they barely knew one another. There was something about that unbound, earnest joy that audiences loved that Soma could supply and Sayako could amplify.[break][break] Some, until just now, until she was forced to face it, had not realized just how big a part this sensitive rose played in her life. Between this and that damned beach debacle, signs were pointing to her that things would get rough. She was facing her mirror today.[break][break] Sayoko though, perfect emotional looking glass that she was, did have things to do. She had come here looking for books, not for Soma obviously, she thought. It was just God playing with her wounds again, but it was something she had been used to for many, many months. Kafka on The Shore...now He was just being mean. Soma did read a bit in her spare time and that was a book she came back to time and time again. It felt so disjointed but yet so relatable. She'd taken it off the shelf on many a lazy day, but had still not figured its riddles out for herself. Sayoko could though; she'd always been smarter than Soma.[break][break] She hadn't needed to pull up her computer again, but she had to pull herself together. She managed a smile, a strong one considering the weight of the tense air, and gestured to Sayoko to follow. She offered no words as the passages of bookshelves got tighter and tighter by the centimeter until she slipped between a row and let her perfectly manicured nails thump over a few spines.[break][break] "We have five copies, so take however many you need; they're some of the few that stay in good condition," she cooed, eyes lingering on the spine's text. She had to take a breath before she turned her head back to...her friend? It'd been so long that she felt like she was assuming.[break][break] "Y'know...I thought I'd at least get a hug if I ever saw you again." She meant nothing by the tease, but the words held in them a fine print. A desperate, desperate call for action.[break][break] Deck: [break] Clean Up[break] Petit Fire Blaster[break] Search Engine[break] Expansion x2[break] Lightning Knife[break] Meteor Wing[break] Gomamon S[break] Ravenous Hunt[break] Overdrive[break] Goliath[break] Mass Accelorator[break] Wild Card[break] First Aid[break] [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]

Some people were born into stardom. Some were born for it. And others still were born with it. Sayako was the latter category. Even in lows did she rather shine, and every low was accompanied with a high. She would maintain her composure in the middle of that library, because not only was she expected to but because she simply would.Grateful, the young woman followed her counterpart between the shelves old and new—and if she looked too long they'd start swaying under the weight of their secrets. Eventually they came to a stop, Soma's slender fingers paused on the book which Sayako had read once before yet somehow was the first thing that came to mind when she needed a cover. Not that Sayako even looked at the books that moment. She was looking at Soma, who kept on carrying on as if her world was never wavering like water right before her eyes. Always as if nothing was wrong, until it was and she left like she was never there in the first place. Down into the rippling depths. Soma wouldn't get halfway through her tease before Sayako pulled her into a hug, resting her chin on her friend's shoulder and finally allowing that perfect brow to crinkle a bit where no one could see it. After a few moments: "The blonde. It... it looks good." A simple remark for a simple moment that would undoubtedly turn painful in all the pleasurable ways. [nospaces] [attr="class","biggie"] [attr="class","textie"]She swore she had died. She could no longer feel a pulse, silence took her, but...no, she was not dead. She felt warm. She could feel the surprisingly tight grip of this young woman. Out of the corner of her eyes was simply gold and her nose was assaulted with the smell of lilies. Maybe it was just her memory playing tricks on her; she could've sworn that Sayako loved lilies. Or was that Yukina? Or Emi? Her brain was a mire, trying desperately to make sense of this old feeling. Those old memories. The whisper was the thread that lead her back. A last-ditch effort to break their awkward quiet, Soma finally found her arms' place around Sayako waist. She'd still kept that slender figure.[break][break] "I always thought your hair was pretty, so I wondered if I could pull it off," she lulled, lips barely parting. Even for a librarian, she was not often very silent; her voice was finally starting to return to her. "It was time for a change." She finally pulled away though her hands still remained on her waist for a moment. She was real enough, but hopefully she wouldn't run away if she let go.[break][break] "It's just...gosh, it feels like forever," her stage whisper did little to keep the echo at bay, but it would do well enough. Dingy yellow lamplight lit her eyes up like gold and hope, but in the creases of her iris hid some form of fear. It was minuscule, but present all the same. She finally let go, firm in the belief Sayako was not a trick of the light, and slid one of the novels off the shelf. She was not quick to forget her friend's pretense to visit.[break][break] "So what brings you this way, really?"[break][break] She had her own shelves upon shelves of little quips and questions in the back of her mind, anything from "The rumors I'm dead aren't true" to "were you following that Red Thread here?" but she just couldn't bring herself to jab at her now. Those were the repertoire of a Soma that Sayako was wholly unfamiliar with. Though, at some point, she'd find out if she hadn't heard already of the bar-hopping idol wash out.[break][break] Deck: [break] Clean Up[break] Petit Fire Blaster[break] Search Engine[break] Expansion x2[break] Lightning Knife[break] Meteor Wing[break] Gomamon S[break] Ravenous Hunt[break] Overdrive[break] Goliath[break] Mass Accelorator[break] Wild Card[break] First Aid[break] [attr="class","iconie"] [newclass=.biggie]-webkit-transitionduration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover]margin-left:-300px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie]opacity:0;margin-top:-425px;margin-bottom:150px;width:300px;height:400px;padding:10px;background-color:#fff;border:solid 1px #b7b7b7;color:#939393;text-align:justify;overflow:auto;margin-left:0px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;font:11px calibri;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .textie]opacity:1;margin-left:610px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar]width:10px;background:#fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.textie::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background:#b7b7b7;border:2px solid #fff;[/newclass] [newclass=.iconie]opacity:0;margin-top:-240px;margin-left:-220px;margin-bottom:50px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .iconie]opacity:1;[/newclass] [newclass=.tagsie]opacity:0;font:11px calibri;color:#b7b7b7;margin-top:-75px;margin-left:-75px;margin-bottom:40px;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass] [newclass=.biggie:hover .tagsie]opacity:1;-webkit-transition-duration:.5s;-moz-transition-duration:.5s;transition-duration:.5s;[/newclass]
