After leaving his newfound tamer friend and his companion behind on the beach, Chousen had set out back onto the coast of the golden shore. His journey had taken him a few hours forwards from the early morning hours until he reached a small port filled with Whamon that, for a small price, could take you anywhere you wanted. Had Chousen finally found his way to new places, a new continent? He'd explored the pier until he found a rather rotten and abandoned looking one, with a single old Whamon manning it. His curiosity arose, and after a few questions he discovered that this Whamon took people to "Giygan Island." Never heard of it, but.
After a single payment, he boarded the Whamon and was on his way, casually sitting inside of its mouth until he was suddenly spat out and onto the sandy shores, falling face flat into it as the Whamon bellowed and promised to wait for him here. No-one ever went to the island anyways, so apparently it'd have the time to wait for him until he wanted to go back. That should've rung the alarm bells in Chousen's head, but he arose soon after and pat himself down from all the sand. He'd heard the short deal about what this island was: half of it had sunk underwater, and the other half was occupied by a democracy of some kind that was very isolated. Curious and curioser.
After cleaning himself of all the sand, Chousen headed for the inland, pushing past into the foliage. It was a mixture of a jungle and a forest, from what he could gather. He saw some phone booths at the beach, but he didn't bother touching them. Those things always picked up random broadcasts from the human world, and they were of no use to anyone who wished to call people. the trees were thick and tall as sin, with Chousen stopping in front of one to look up. He could just barely see the sky past the branches, letting out a sigh as he continued on his journey, hand constantly resting on his shinai.
Why did he come here. That was a question he presented himself. To look for a challenge? Possibly that, or possibly to fulfill his curiosity about this island he'd never heard about. What were the people like? What kept them isolated? That raw curiosity, above his thirst for battle, seemed to be the main motivator. If he'd even find the people. Maybe they didn't actually exist at all, and the whole secretive civilization shtick was just a rumor started by that Whamon to get people to explore the island. Hm.Zeus

"Giygan island! Home to..." The sign read, leaving the Gatomon standing a few feet infront of it somewhat puzzled. He brought a claw up to his chin as he pondered in deep though. Someone should probably fill that in. Not him of course, it was a job much below his skill. Though he'd happily offer his own input which would without a doubt prove invaluable to the denizens of the island, like it always did of course. Still, a sign way out in the outer ring wouldn't get much traffic. At least not until the Colosseum was finished or something along those lines. In reality the island was proving to be quite boring. Zeus had to pause his trail of thought to congratulate himself that the lack of any threats to the island. It was all him after all. Without a doubt he and not the security system kept threats at bay.
The cat like Digimon perked his ears, the tuffs at either tip standing at attention as he'd turn around to look into the distance. Visitors? It wasn't an unlikely event, those blasted Whamon occasionally brought others into the island. Someone should really do something about that. Not him, though. It was beneath his skill. It wasn't as if anyone was particularly bothered by visitors, but at this point it would be better if there was some sort of screening process and maybe an official transport. Perhaps he could get his own. Something grand and reflective of his importance to the island. After all anyone visiting surely would only come to see him. Maybe there was no need for transport at all. He could go and meet his fans directly.
Zeus puffed his chest, swiftly brushing the fur on his head backwards a few times before he'd leap down from his spot, abandoning the sign and making his way out of the canopy and into the open space. It wasn't long until he laid eyes on the lone Kotemon. He'd simply take a few steps forward before stopping and outstretching his arms on either side, a look of pure confidence taking over his visage as he'd eye the 'intruder.
"Why yes, it's me! The great warrior Zeus! Welcome to Giygan island, home of Zeus. I'm flattered you came all this way to see me, but I'm very busy. However I will allow you to witness my feats."The feline would boast before taking a few more steps forward hastily, effectively passing past the Kotemon."Be sure to spread the tales of my heroism. After all I have to fulfill my promise to myself."

This was /not/ what he had been expecting.
When he saw a Gatomon suddenly appear, his first instinct had been to grab his blade, partially drawing it out, only to then by surprised by how, well. Not flamboyant, that would be the wrong word. How showman-like this cat proved to be. He'd been excepting something completely different from an isolationist civilization, but he supposed that a somewhat arrogant sounding Gatomon that declared his name to be Zeus could fit somewhere within that imagery. Just maybe. He kept his shinai half drawn, but he didn't rush in to attack just yet.
"You claim this island as your home, then... I mean no offense, but I heard no mention of you when I was taken here. Only a mention of the civilization that is supposed to lay here, somewhere inland." His eyes avert away from the glory that is Zeus, and to somewhere far behind the line of trees that surrounded them as far as the eye could see, sans the small path he'd followed up to here and the area Zeus had jumped down from. Perhaps the whole lost civilization thing was a hoax, a tall tale told by someone uneducated, when all there truly was... Was Zeus. And his glory, of course.
"Were tales of that civilization a lie then, Zeus? Or do you live among them?" He never addressed the feats of the Gatomon, mostly because he didn't consider them truly important right now. While he was sure that the champion could prove to be an exceptional challenge, but for now he was even more curious to see if those rumors could be true. An isolationist civilization on a half-sunken island... Now that idea, that oozed of romanticism, of adventure and challenge. How exciting, truly.

Despite the flat out rejection, Zeus didn't seem to be slowing down at all. Instead, he would simple give a dragged out, patronizing chuckle whilst shaking his head. While his feats where truly remarkable, they were simply too isolated for the 'savages' to know of. He took a moment to gauge the Kotemon. Nothing seemed to stand out, yet that was an extremely rare occasion. Zeus on the other hand was very distinguishable from the identically looking, normal Gatomon, or at least that was the common belief. There were no other Gatomon on the island so it was extremely hard to challenge that rumour.
"Interesting. So you didn't know, yet you still came? Sometimes I even impress myself. Yes, your eyes do not deceive you. I am Zeus the Mighty, a knight of great renown." The feline began to take a bow, only to stop midway and awkwardly return to a standing position."While you were hiding here in your dingy little Whamon, I had been dealing with a manner of utmost importance regarding the very nature of this island." The Digimon boasted, referring to the sign from earlier.
Zeus tapped his claws against each other rhythmically, seemingly ignoring the question for a while before he would shrug. "Well, the great city is behind the forest." Zeus seemed somewhat bothered at the mention of the city, momentarily narrowing his eyes. "Yes, Giygas's marvel. A place where dreams are realized... Pfah! Dreams are for those too feeble to truly live! Zehaha! There's nothing but dreams in that place. I need glory."The feline would give an approving nod to himself before he'd cross his gloves behind his head. "As you can see I have eliminated every threat for today, so luckily for you, you can bask in my presence."

"I came for... I suppose, the mere essence of curiosity. I heard of this island, and thus became curious. And thus, I also capitalized on that curiosity. A simple reasoning for a rather simple affair." Chousen nodded his head and degreed in his head that this Gatomon, while incredibly boastful and almost annoying in his mannerisms, was not to be a threat to him. He seemed friendly enough despite those arrogant mannerisms. Thus, his sword is completely sheathed, with his hand moving to simply lay against the sheath as he watched and listened to the Gatomon's near-ramblings. It was amusing, he'll give Zeus that.
The way the feline described the city raised his interest. The city where dreams are realized? Was it that great of a place, or did Giygas island hide something even grander than he had thought? While Zeus seemed to be somewhat bothered by the whole thing, at least from what Chousen could read off of his face, he faced a great temptation to ask about it more. Yet, maybe he should try and play to the current weaknesses he saw within the feline. If he placated him a bit, struck the right cord, and then asked more about that city while he was stroking the cat's long ego, he could maybe get somewhere better than by simply asking about it.
"There is much to bask in, that is true. And I am sure no threat could stand up to you for very long, but I am curious, how come that place is only full of dreams but no glory to speak of? 'Tis odd, oft the two go hand in hand, dream and glory." He curiously raised his brow. Well, he wasn't all too sure on if this island even had any actual threats for Zeus to eliminate. If the digimon lived in the city, he couldn't think of many other threats. He hadn't seen any wild digimon as he came here, and the only item of interest were those phone booths at the beach that he had soundly ignored.
Just what was that threat he had defeated, then? Well, he best not ask or question Zeus' proficiency vocally, unless he wants to get berated to the ground by the cat with a little bit of a complex.

"Don't you that curiosity killed the cat? Satisfaction brought it back though. Which is why you can say that I'm both curious but also satisfying to look at." Zeus would declare, flicking his tail behind him as he would cross his arms, head raising high. The intruder didn't seem very interested in him, but that was really his on loss. The Gatomon wasn't about to slow down over such a minor detail. After all he had an audience to witness him.
The feline stretched a grin across his muzzle, revealing a single, golden fang that stood out among the rest. It seemed that stroking his ego was a good strategy as he leaned closer, raising a single claw over his lips as if to hush the Kotemon. "What a foolish question. Glory and dreams aren't related at all. There's no glory in dreams that aren't your own and there's no glory in anything given to you." He would boldly counter, pointing at the jungle behind him. "Of course you can fight for glory in the Colosseum, my suggestion mind, but it's taking those Troopmon a while to build. The point is, the city is just a city. There's no adventure or any danger. There's no glory in a safe life." The Gatomon seemed pretty fixated on his opinion, yet he didn't seem to reject the city at all. In fact, while he thought that the denizens were simpletons, he also thought it was the greatest city the world had ever known.
"Hades says that everyone is welcome in the city, but I fear that once you witness it you too will fall victim to it." The Digimon shrugged, extending a paw to give a rather patronizing pat at the other's helmet. "Oh yee of weak will. Fear not, for Zeus will show you the city." Without much room for protest or even a conversation, Zeus would simply turn his back at the other and begin to march towards the trees one more, not bothering to look behind

"I feel as if glory can come from the dreams of others just as well as it can come from your own dreams. Many serve unto others just to see the dreams of those people filled. Many people follow a leader just as much for their charisma as they follow them for their dreams. And following those dreams of others can bring untold glory, depending on what that dream is." Chousen frowned under his mask at the patting given to him by the champion level feline, but he wouldn't complain. He had a guide to the city now, and the more the cat talked about it, the more his curiosity arose. He'd been able to resist temptations before, why not now?
Something about it all felt off, though. Would he be forbidden to leave once he entered? Entry might be free for all, but Zeus mentioned nothing about leaving. Maybe that's what he meant with how the dreams would keep him within... Or maybe it was a paradise on earth and water, a solitude no-one would wish to leave, for the wonders it provided were too big to ignore in favor of the world of others. But that couldn't tempt him, could it? Unless the city could offer him the resolution he was looking for, he'd be as unshaken as ever, and move on with the knowledge that this place could not satisfy him.
"I assume you are a native to these lands, then? Could you tell me more about the city? The Whamon who took me here told me it was a... Democracy, of sorts? So you elect your leaders? Not unheard of, but still rare. I suppose 'tis convenient on a smaller island such as this one. Not as much competition and chance for corruption." Then again, if a smaller circle of people was to become corrupt, breaking the corruption apart would become much harder than that of breaking corruption in larger populations. A double sided blade, for sure.

Zeus scoffed, his eyes rolling as he'd shoot the Rookie a dismissive look. He wouldn't even allow himself room to ponder what he was just told. Instead, without stopping, offer one of rarely requested spiels. "Hmph. That sounds meek. Why waste time following someone else's dreams? Perhaps you belong in that squalid little hamlet. The air is foul and the cityfolk have beady eyes if you ask me. I'll be heading back down below as soon as possible."
Despite his disdain for the city, the Gatomon kept making his way across the canopy. He would occasionally glance up, as if trying to catch something, but never seemed to find what he wanted. The vegetation around him would get increasingly thicker the more he ventured eventually cutting off most of the light. The island seemed to posses some strange properties. The surrounding forest which would occasionally blend in with jungle like vines seemed to stretch endlessly. It almost looked like a maze, but Zeus seemed to know his way around well enough. Or perhaps he was just too confident.
"Hmm? I did tell you this island was the home of Zeus... and well, it my be difficult to grasp but indeed, I AM the great Zeus and you can see." The feline would pause to point a claw at his chest, proudly raising his head."I'm before you."Zeus would hold his pause for a few seconds enough to create an awkward pause before finally moving again. "Elect? What do you mean? There's never been anyone who ran against the president. Everyone is satisfied. That's not necessary." Unlike most of his answers, this one would be somewhat rushed and mumbled at points. At the same time, the Digimon picked up the pace until eventually the surrounding forest would suddenly thin and eventually completely vanish, leaving only a clearing at the foot of a maintain surrounded by clouds. It's top wouldn't be visible and there didn't seem to be any path leading up.
"Mmm, seems like we're unlucky."
