Skitter is far more stubborn than he has any right being. He is a freshly born digimon with at most a week or two under his proverbial belt. He has no battle experience, he has no life experience, he has a limited knowledge of his surrounding, though he is learning quickly, and yet, he will respond to any challenge. He can be goaded into feats of strength that he is not capable of performing. He can be challenged to fights by people so far above him that he can't comprehend the strength of a single flick from them, and he'll accept with bravado. He'll continue at something a million times until he completes it, even if it's a minor task that he can avoid entirely. That's how innate his stubbornness is to his personality. But if there's one positive aspect to it, he's easy to predict. You can count on him to work at any task until he completes it, failure after failure, without losing his steam. That strange, wonky dependability is one of the few positive traits about Skitter.[break][break]
So he's smart, but unwise, and stubborn to the point of reliability. But what else is he? Well, he's a jerk. Skitter has a hunting instinct that borders on that of the most devolved and feral predators. The primary difference between him and the primordial predators of old is that he doesn't hunt to survive. He hunts to hunt, and occasionally eat things. He's violent, crass, and pretty unrestrained. If you're not obedient to him, or if you haven't displayed your strength to him hundreds of time to actually instill fear into him, then it's likely that he views you as prey. He might not be jumping on you anytime soon, but long term, there's no guarantees of safety.
[attr="class","solodig_head"] PERSONALITY
Skitter is a strange one, to say the least. He is a hungry, mean spirited, jerk of a genius. But he suffers from a complete lack of common sense. He can calculate advanced mathematics, memorize anything he reads, and learn languages in mere days, with the right exposure, but ask him if a rock is edible or not, and he's going to eat it and find out. Stop light or don't walk sign? He's in the middle of the intersection wondering why these cars like to move so fast. His lack of common sense is so profound that he can experience pain, know the source of the pain, be aware that he can avoid the pain, and he's inevitably going to do the same thing multiple times and get hurt each time, before finally learning his lesson. This cannot entirely be attributed to his lack of wisdom, though. The other key component is his stubbornness.[break][break]Skitter is far more stubborn than he has any right being. The moments after Skitter was born were occupied entirely by him eating things near him. About 90% of what he tried to eat was inedible, and resulted in cuts in his mouth, or vomiting. Not the most enjoyable moments in his life, but with his advanced and adaptive learning capabilities as a digimon, he quickly adjusted. Sort of. He became able to recognize objects, and over the course of a couple days, learned words from passer-bys and labels. So he could tell when he gobbled up a rock, or swallowed an entire glass bottle. But he still ate them regardless. He was just that determined to eat.[break][break]
His stomach became more resilient as he did so, and his own experiences began to accumulate. He tried to eat one of the 'people' but they moved too much and got away. Skitter was peeved about that, but from that point on, they seemed to avoid him. It didn't matter too much to him. His new home, a so called alley, was practically an all you can eat buffet. Tons of garbage and small animals. He didn't notice when it happened, but at some point he grew bigger. He had legs and could actually scuttle about. He must have eaten something truly nutritious. Was that a normal rat he ate earlier? It was kind of pink. Who knows. Afterwards it became much easier to eat.[break][break]
He tried to eat one of the 'people' again. This time they kicked back. Not good. He wouldn't try that again for a while. Too much he didn't know about them. This also informed his decision not to eat cars. They were bigger and faster than 'people' so it was probably a bad idea. Skitter was becoming bored. Eating was fun, and pleasurable, but empty feeling. It accomplished nothing. It was time to leave the alley and find new places. He could still eat on the way.

Crunchy. Tastes bad. Oh, was can. Furry, tastes good. I like rat. Hard, can't chew. Nasty rock. Too fast, can't eat the big one. Car? Not sure. What is this place? I don't know. Lots of food. I like to eat.[break][break]The moments after Skitter was born were occupied entirely by him eating things near him.
