I got a question for you." Hyde asked, taking a swig from his bottle, as the lanky tamer and his partner sat in an alleyway, out of sight of the populace. The solarmon looked up at his partner. "Yeah boss?" Hyde set the bottle down. "You've told me about digivolution already. The ability for a digimon to change from one form to a stronger one. And we've seen plenty of champion level digimon, both wild and with tamers." He looked over at the small gear digimon. "My point is, what does it take for someone to digivolve? I mean, we know it can be done mate. So, any ideas on how to make you more of a badass?"The small digimon's eyes widened, imagining himself digivolving, becoming stronger. A far cry to the simple cog he had once been before he met Hyde. "I...I'm not sure..." he said, his eyes downcast. "I mean, I guess it could be a case of simply getting stronger. Or maybe...maybe some of us just weren't meant to digivolve." He was starting to feel like a disappointment to his partner. What if he couldn't live up to his expectations? "Nah, we know it ain't that," Hyde replied, taking a swig, "No partner of mine's a dead end that can't digivolve. We just gotta buff you up, that's all. Hell, you were great against that Greymon before. We just gotta keep at it and before long you'll be digivolving like a pro." Grimes looked up at him with bright eyes. "You think so boss?" Hyde looked down and gave his partner a smile before handing him the bottle. "Of course. Now drink up. Get some liquid courage in you."sopdet

[ QUEST ] A large Digimon is bio-emerging near Shinagawa. While it's intentions are unknown, it is clear that this is not some regular garden-variety Digimon. Rewards: Blue Card + [[REDACTED]]
The sound of Hyde's Digivice immediately began to beep wildly, the small device seemingly having picked up something.
Sure enough, if one pulled it out; the D-Power's map function would indicate a large dot in the northern part of Shinagawa. A sign that a Digimon was bio-emerging in that area.

It took him a couple of seconds to realize that he didn't have a pager at all. The lanky man dug his digivice out of his pocket, looking at the beeping device. Grimes looked up at him. "What's wrong boss?"Hyde's digivice tended to go off for one of two reasons. Either a tamer was nearby, or a digimon was nearby. And right now, it was indicating something big nearby. "Seems that liquid courage ain't going to waste buddy. Let's go." Grimes nodded and Hyde stepped out of the alleyway, still holding his bottle as he followed the beeping of his digivice. Meanwhile, Grimes followed along, keeping to the shadows. sopdet

The most direct path to the incoming invading Digimon was towards some of the seedier parts of town, away from the hustle and bustle of Shinagawa. Sure enough, it led to an abandoned car parking garage that had been currently up for renovation; the only barriers to keep one out of the area being some simple signs telling trespassers that this was private property. Fortunately, no one was around.
The insides of the parking garage was in the process of being torn at ground level, higher levels not yet touched. One thing that was however clear was a strange fog that just seemed to be camped out in the bottom level of the area. By the time Hyde and Grimes arrived, it seemed to notice their presence; attempting to start to escape to the higher areas via the inclined sloped flooring.

The last thing they needed was to find themselves fighting a possibly monster in the middle of a busy street. Instead, it had led them to an abandoned parking garage. The thick fog was a clear indication that a digimon had appeared here. "Blasted fog," Hyde grumbled, trying to see through the mist, "No wonder digimon are so crabby when they biomerge. This is enough to annoy anyone."Grimes was looking around, trying to see any trace of the digimon. Suddenly, he heard a sound of movement, moving away from them. "Boss! I think they're over there!" Hyde looked over, and was sure he some something disappear up to the upper levels. "Hey! hold i-Gah! Stupid cinderblocks!" Hyde had banged his foot on some construction supplies. Limping slightly, the two headed up the ramp in pursuit. sopdet

The fog signaling the presence of the bio-emerging Digimon while attempted to at first seemingly flee, heading up at least two floors of abandoned parking space; it eventually came to a halt. The fog expanded rapidly, shrouding the entire building's insides in a deep fog as a humanoid figure seemed to materialize from thin air. The Digimon was a simian-like Digimon covered in golden fur, a large bone strapped to it's back. The Apemon seemed to for a moment remain still, looking around at it's surroundings passively... before locking eyes directly with Hyde and Grimes. Now, usually it's considered to be a bad idea to lock eye contact with a gorilla. Now locking eyes with a wild ape Digimon that was bigger, faster, and stronger than the average Digimon seen in the real world? That was a recipe for trouble, the Apemon making that quite clear with it baring it's teeth and snarling at the tamer and his partner. The Champion level instinctively grabbed it's weapon, holding it out as it awaited the pair's next move.
Apemon has appeared.

BS134 - Berenjena W BS065 - Shogun Sword W DI03 - Growlmon S DI06 - Digital Hazard DI09 - First Aid DI11 - Power Driver DI13 - Steel Pipe W DI14 - Tough Gakuran A EV01 - Nova Meteor It seemed like the fog was following the digimon up as Hyde and Grimes followed them. Were wild digimon just mobile fog machines or something? That was another mystery that plagued Hyde when it came to digimon. Tamed digimon like Grimes didn't produce obnoxious amounts of fog. Once they got to the upper levels, they were finally able to catch up to what they were chasing. A gorilla like digimon with a bone club. Hyde brought up his digivice to check the growling monkey. "Apemon huh? Champion level. Well, what an interesting find we have here." Hyde smirked as he looked at the growling digimon right in the eyes. Safety be damned. "So tell me, how is this going to go down? I get the impression you're not really one to have a drink and a chat now are you?"sopdet

While the Apemon was clearly ready for combat, Hyde's nonchalant attitude to the Champion level if anything only confused it. Perhaps merely because it was expecting for it's opponent to start to fight, not attempt small talk with it. Regardless, the Apemon held no interest towards the human. Letting out a growl, the Apemon turned it's sole attention to Grimes. Bearing it's bone-like weapon, the primate made a leaping bound towards the Solar; aiming to crush the gear Digimon with it.
Apemon is attacking Grimes with a basic attack (low Earth damage).

The digimon seemed to ignore him and instead dive towards Grimes, bone club in hand and ready to strike. The gear digimon let out a yelp as the Champion digimon came down on him, shutting his eyes and bracing himself. Only, the blow never came. There was the sound of bone hitting metal. Grimes dared open his eyes, and was shocked to see Hyde standing before him. The lanky man had a katana in his hand, the blade digging into his own shoulder as he tried to hold the Apemon's club back. "Now that...was very rude..." he hissed through clenched teeth, before shoving the Apemon back with some difficulty, "I was talking!" He thrn swung with the sword, aiming for his midsection. "Boss!" Grimes yelled as he moved to the side. He wasn't going to let Hyde fight this thing alone. His wheels began spinning as sparks went flying. While initially not having given the human much of a thought as it attempted to slam it's weapon against the Solarmon. The only thing it did manage to strike though was a samurai blade Hyde had called forth. Whatever the case was, Hyde had proved himself to the Apemon that even a human wasn't a completely harmless target. The primate growled angrily as it proceeded to parry the human's weapon as they swung it at the Champion level, using the superior brute force it had to pry it cleanly from the human's hands. The blade was sent sailing into a wall, embedding itself into it. However, this tactic left them vulnerable to an attack from Grimes; sparks of grinding metal sent flying into the Champion level's fur. Growling from the pain, Apemon jumped back stylishly; swinging the bone club down onto the ground. The floor fractured as a wave of stone rapidly traveled across the ground, threatening to slam into both Hyde and Grimes.
Apemon blocked Hyde's attack with the Samurai Sword, parrying the weapon out of his hands at the cost of being hit by Grimes. Apemon attacked with Ape Aftershock. Ape Aftershock - Apemon slams the ground with tremendous force, creating a fast-moving shockwave of earth. The sword was sent flying out of his hand, imbedding it in the wall. Thankfully Grimes' attack distracted it enough to allow Hyde to put some distance between himself and the Apemon. And then the shockwave came. "SONOFABITCH!" Hyde yelled out as the shockwave approached. He only got enough time to swipe a card before he was launched off of his feet. Grimes groaned as the attack hit him. But for some reason didn't seem to hurt as much as it should have. The Digimon looked down, noticing that a strange sign had appeared on his body. The small digimon looked over to see Hyde laying flat on his back, clearly banged up by the attack. The one eyed human gave his partner a tired smile. "Boss..." Hyde chuckled, "Do me a favour. Beat that damn ape would you? I'm just gonna lay here for a tick." In reality, Hyde found that he couldn't move his body . Damn that attack must have hurt Grimes nodded and his gears ground with renewed vigor. The small digimon let out a shout as its gears sent sparks flying. [Hyde used Digital Hazard. With the sight of the cog-like Digimon being branded with an ominous mark, the Apemon seemed to let out an amused grunt as it braced itself from the sparks being let loose from Grime's gears. While certainly doing damage, it wasn't particularly effective in the grand scheme of things; only being a mild annoyance to primate. The Apemon wasn't fighting back as fiercely as before (seemingly having lost a bit of their fighting spirit a moment ago), though it clearly had no problems attempting to club the Solarmon with it's bone club once more.

Hell, it didn't even seem to be taking him seriously. "Grimes!" Hyde yelled out, trying to will his body to move. Dammit, what the hell did that attack do to him? Grimes was sent reeling, being knocked over to the side. The extra defence Hyde had given him softened the blow somewhat, but that didn't mean jack if he couldn't hurt this thing. Then he saw it, the Shinobu Sword sticking into the wall next to him. That could certainly hurt it! Reaching out with his gear-like hands, Grimes strained and pulled on the sword, before yanking it out of the wall. The sword glowed lightly as the power of the Digital Hazard entered it. Grimes turned his eyes to his opponent. "Let's see how you like this!" he yelled out, swinging the charged blade at the Apemon. Despite having a level advantage compared to Grimes, the fight was not by any means one-sided. Grimes resourcefully armed himself with the previous dropped samurai sword, aiming to cut the primate. Instinctively, Apemon attempted to parry the attack with it's own ivory-white weapon, but a flaw in it's design was made apparent. While an exceedingly dangerous blunt weapon, the bone-like weapon the Apemon owned proved to be on the flimsy side defensively. The slash from the Samurai Sword managing to cut the weapon down the center, splitting it in two. Appropriately, it was able to even get a slight blow on the Champion level; slicing down it's abdomen with the tip of the cursed blade. For once, the Apemon actually let out a pained grunt as it managed to leap back a few feet as it dropped it's now bissected weapon. It for a moment seemed to expect the light wound that was inflicted, small bits of data leaking like blood. It snarled at the gear-like Digimon before rushing back at them, it's two fists lighting on fire as it aimed to bludgeon the Solarmon with physical force.
Apemon was hit by the Samurai Sword basic attack, it's bone weapon breaking in two. Apemon is attacking Grimes with Magical Monkey Punch. Magical Monkey Punch - Attacks with a series of fighting-spirit empowered punches, dealing moderate Earth/Fire damage. Ignores DEF boosts.

He'd of course be eating those words when the monkey's fist slammed straight into Grimes' face. The gear digimon went flying back, his body banged up badly by the attack. Just how much more could the little digimon take? Hyde groaned as he tried to move. Some movement was coming back to his body, but not a lot. "Grimes..." Hyde hissed between clenched teeth, "Run..." Grimes stared at his tamer in amazement. "B-Boss#?" "Don't be stupid Grimes! You can't beat him in a straight up fight! So get out of there, and try to find another way before you get reduced to scrap!"Grimes hesitated. "B-But what about you boss?" Hyde tried to give the little digimon a smirk. "I'll be fine. Now go!"
