Blessed [Open]

This part of Tokyo wasn't a hard travel for Rei, as it was just one stop on the train further than she normally had to. Most would be worried by a child her age walking around, but she felt confident enough. If she really found trouble, she could always call with her cellphone... but for a long time, she wanted to come here. Come back to the shrine. They had not been there... her family had not been there since her father's accident. It was something she wanted to do, but her mother became too busy and her brother no longer cared.

"Rei-chan?" Musimon whispered, hanging on her back like a cute backpack he pretended to be. The sullen, almost reminiscing look on her face concerned her as he peeked over her shoulder to see her. "You okay? You seem very sad," he asked. The number of people in this region was quiet, so he could move a little without rousing issues.

Rei hesitated as she climbed the steps up towards the small park-like area, where the old shrine was. For a brief moment, she saw like a ghost the scene of the people who had gathered for the memorial service that her father had, including the pilots who also served with him. She blinked and shooked her head.

A tear strayed from her eye, but she quickly wiped it away with her long sleeve. "Musimon... do you remember the song I was singing when we met?" she asked. The Musimon gave a hum of yes while Rei walked over to the shrine. "My father used to sing it to me and Ryuji as a lullabuy when we were younger. When he died, it was the only way I could still feel close to him..." she said. "Anyway... I wanted to come here to pay my respects, but mom and Ryuji don't seem to want to come here anymore. I think its too painful for them..."

Musimon's ears drooped, realizing how sad Rei was. Even after all this time, the little girl still missed her father. She put on so much on her little shoulders-- from taking care of her family around the house, and being so positive... when deep down she had a sad heart that missed her old family. For the first time in a while, Musimon was speechless and unsure what to say to make her feel better.

The best he could do was use his ear-arms and wrapped it around her in a hug.

Slowly, she opened the door to the shrine and entered. Little did she know she wasn't alone. There on the floor knelt another person near the front, offering his own prayers. However, what would have normally ended with Rei quietly respecting the man's privacy and seeing on her way-- something else was with him. At first, she thought it was a dog, but a dog was not purple in color, nor had tiny little wings on its back. It also stood on two legs with tiny arms like a dinosaur or reptile.

She couldn't contain her gasp, giving away that they saw them. Curious too, Musimon peered over her shoulder, looking at the strange duo before them.

Rei blinked at the seemingly overly shy man. She seemed a bit put off by the sudden panic in the older man-- compared to her being a little kid. But something that big was hard to hide. THough some might be able to believe it was a very odd fox or dog. Still, Rei knew better but didn't say anything. She wasn't trying to be rude either. "Um... forgive my intrusion if I interrupted..." she said, rubbing the back of her neck as she looked at him. "I... uh..."

However, Musimon was far more outspoken than the two and hopped up further on the shoulder. It took him little time to put the facts together. "Rei-chan! That's a Digimon!" he said happily. With no one else around, Musimon hopped right up and over Rei to be in front of them. The happy little yellow rabbit smiled as he waved his hand-ear at the stranger and his Dorumon. "Hi there! DJ Rhyme in da house-- but you can call me Musimon!" he said with a cheerful tone-- followed by some funny entrance music playing on his speakers.


A little inappropriate music for a shrine, but that was Musimon for you. One living soundtrack for any occasion.

Curious now, Rei reached down in her large shirt and pulled out her own Digivice held by a string around her neck. Realizing Musimon was right, she tapped her Digivice and the hologram screen showed up, revealing who it was. "Wow! A Dorumon... those are very rare!" she said with amazement, "A rookie animal digimon. Data type." As the screen and profile faded away, she smiled at the sight of the man. "I see, if he is a digimon-- that means your a Digimon Tamer too!"

Rei gave a kind smile, genuinely happy to meet another tamer. "Nice to meet you. My name is Rei." she said and gave a polite bow to him. Needless to say, it be pointless to be overly terrified of a little girl-- even more so by her small digimon, but they seemed genuinely kind in nature.

Musimon smiled and using his hand-shaped ears, he reached up and shook the man's hand with a stron grip. Musimon-- such a strange Digimon.

Rei gasped and covered her mouth, realizing her mistake. "Oh, sorry... she. But yeah, she is very rare. You're so lucky to have one," she said with a smile.

Musimon turned to Rei, a somewhat glum look on his face. "You don't have to be so enthusiastic," he said to his partner. "So he's 'rare'. I got mad beats and skillz, yo! Digimon wish they could be as bad-rapping as me, weee!" The musimon rapped, moving his hands in patterns similar to modern-day rappers.

Realizing she made another mistake, Rei gave a nervous chuckle. "I'm sorry, Musimon. You truly are one of a kind, and I wouldn't want it any other way." With that, Musimon cheered up again, understanding what Rei was saying.

The situation soon became far less tense for Ridley and his Dorumon as he let him go-- and she made a bee-line right up to Rei. She gave a small gasp as the digimon ran up to her like an excited puppy, wagging her big bushy about like one too. Slowly, Rei knelt down to her. "Hey there... good... dragon?" she extended a hand to her, open to let her know she meant no ill will. The urge to pet her was strong for Rei-- as she wanted to nuzzle her and rub her tummy. She seemed so much like a dog, it was hard to not want and get wrapped up in this.

Once more, Musimon puffed out hsi cheeks in jealousy. Clearly the digimon felt left out for a moment as the Dorumon clearly was soaking a lot of attention. For a Digimon who was never unheard, this was a first. "Hmmm..." he turned to Ridely, looking him up and down. "So, what's your dilly, yo?" he asked, mimicking rappers dialect.

Rei was cautious with the animal as she raised her hand, the Dorumon sniffing her lightly. Without her flinching at her hand, she patted her on the head, noticing the odd terminal jewel located on her forehead. She moved lower and petted her back rubbing a little on her middle back-- and her tail wagged more. Soft whimpers came from her-- but in a happy means as she pushed into her hand. Rei chuckled softly, seeing the Dorumon enjoying the affectionate pat. "Aww... your so cute... Who's a good dragon-beastie..." she cooed, and soon reached to rub her tummy-- which might tickle a bit.

Musimon continued to look up at Ridley, seeing him rather timid for an adult. He smiled at the mention he was cute. "Oh? Well, thank you." Musimon said with a small flip of his body using his hand-ears. Though his studdering was making the little rabbit concerned. "Um... chill-lax brotha. You need to relax a bit more, yo." he said waving his hand-ear about in a peace sign.

It was then that Rei realized Musimon kept playing his music. "Musimon-- turn it off. This is a shrine. Its disrespectful," she warned as she got up.

Realizing his error, Musimon turned off his speakers on his body, stopping the music. "Oh, my bad, Rei-chan!" he said.

When he asked about why they were here, Rei and Musimon looked to each other. Rei shuffled her feet a bit then looked up at him. "I came to pay respects to my father..." she said as her gaze drifted a bit away from the seemingly shy man.

Musimon hopped over to Dorumon, looking at her too now. "Your partner is a bit skiddish huh? And I thought Rei-rei was shy," Musimon chuckled. He was tempted to hop onto Dorumon's back to play, but he got the instinct such a thing uninvited would be bad.

Musimon's ears dropped as he exchanged looks between Ridley and Rei. 'I will never complain how Rei is too shy again', he thought as he behaved himself and gave a hum. He wondered how happy Dorumon was-- but no digimon would of stuck with a human if they were unhappy with him. Many digimon joined forces to grow stronger and digivolve-- but a good number of them didn't need conflict to be happy. They wanted to find more out of life and humans were able to give that to them. Musimon had never been happier since he met Rei and she took him home to care for. Her digivice only manifested a few hours after they met that night.

With that, Musimon saw the Dorumon and hopped upon her back. He was of course light weight being such a small Digimon, easy enough for Dorumon able to piggyback, but Musimon laid himself out on her upper back, his chin on her forehead near the shiny plate there. It was all in light humor-- even as Musimon covered Dorumon's eyes with his hand-ears for a game of peek-a-boo-- in which he would open one eye at a time to amuse both of them.

He seemed like he did something wrong, but Rei smiled and waved a hand. "Oh, its no worries. Please you don't have to leave. I don't want to be a bother," she said kindly, "After all, they say misery loves company... or is that a bad context here?" she mused, but moved on. "So... how long have you been a tamer?" she asked.

"A friend like the faster?" Rei asked, tilting her head at the adult. She didn't understand that phrase, but she was still respectful. She was kind and liked him-- able to feel safe around him, which was something rare among strangers especially Digimon Tamers. Either way she moved on. "Well I been with Musimon for about a month-- my family doesn't have a clue... or so I hope."

Musimon tickled Dorumon behind her neck and ears, trying to tickle her a bit but in a playful manner. He liked how friendly she was and was always thrilled to meet new friendly Digimon who just wanted to play and live a happy life-- not ones obsessed with battle.

"I'd actually would want to tell my brother but..." she hesitated, knowing how a bit brutish Ryuji was. Still keeping Musimon a secret was very taxing, even with the help of the Busters group she was a part of.

Rei blinked at this, and glanced at Musimon. "Well... it helps he is relatively small. He is easy to pass off as a stuffed animal," she said, seeing Musimon rest his head atop of Dorumon's head, as the two played together. Musimon cheered as Dorumon ran around, his ears trailing behind him as they went.

He then surprised Rei by saying that she should tell her family about Musimon. Her eyes widened for a bit, but cast her eyes down. "Maybe... well, my family isn't exactly in the best place it was. My mom works a lot and is hardly home. My brother is kind of ... um..."

"A punk," Musimon commented. "A pin-head, hot-aired punk?" Musimon commented as he rode Dorumon around.

"Musimon!" she called out at him. THough she knew the digimon was half joking. "MY brother is a bit rebellious, but he is nice. So maybe. But my mom can be strict. I don't know if she would understand..." she said and took a deep breath to clear her thoughts. The thought about her family did make her reveal more of her feelings... shying away that smile she sported all so often.

That, of course, the fact that her brother would often mock and poke fun at Rei's Musimon while as a stuffed animal... which made Musimon angry too.

She shook her head. "Anyway, could you excuse me for a quick second. I want to just send a prayer to my dad," she said, and walked over to the small shrine in the room. "MUsimon, come here!"

Curious, Musimon hopped off Dorumon and approached the shrine with Rei. Though Musimon didn't have a clue what to do, he watched as Rei knelt down to the ground and with closed eyes, clapped her hands together. In her mind she sent a wish that her father was happy wherever he was... that her family would one day return to the happy kind they used to be...

While she did this, Musimon clapped with both of his pair of hands and mimiced Rei, even though he wasn't sure what for.

"Thank you Dad... " Rei thought , remembering how Musimon was drawn to the song he used to sing her. "Thank you for bringing Musimon to me..." she thought.

With that, she stood up and reached for the bell that hung over the shrine.
