[attr="class","info_num"] 01. | [attr="class","info_head"] ABILITY CRAFTING |
[attr="class","info_text"] Ability Crafting is how members, Tamers and Solo Digimon alike, create new moves to add onto their Digimon past their initial one that they begin with. Creating a new ability requires Bytes, a Blank Disc (solos) or Blank Card (tamers), and the appropriate rank.
[break][break]
Crafting is done over the Dark Terminal. To go about crafting a new ability, one must first have a Blank Card (a Blank Disc for Solo Digimon), or substitute that for the cost of 400 Bits. Post in the Dark Terminal with all desired effects -- provided you have the Bits and Rank for them, of course -- and then link that post to the Notification Thread. Staff will then move these purchased abilities over to the corresponding form. Simple!
[break][break]
Elements are added to all active abilities by including a fragment card/disc in the initial creation formula. Up to two Affinity 'fragment' cards/discs can be added to a move. With a Blank Card, you must add an Affinity Card. These are obtained through pack openings (for Tamers) or can be purchased on the Dark Terminal for Solo Digimon. You must have both a Blank Card and an Affinity Card to create an ability unless it is completely non-damaging.
[break][break]
If you'd like to make your Ability a Finisher, it costs double the normal price for all accumulated effects, but is twice as powerful. You can only have one Finisher per form, and it's typically got its own box and a little green heading.
[break][break]
A word on cooldowns: you will add a cooldown for your Ability of a set amount of posts if you choose an effect with a corresponding positive cooldown value. This is not an overriding cooldown: it is cumulative. +2 on one effect and +3 on another will add up to +5 total for the Ability. Finally, Finishers have no explicit cooldowns, but do reduce your Digimon to an unconscious state and revert them to In-Training, or at Mega, Rookie.
[break][break]
A full, priced tariff of effects under rank headings are included in the Dark Terminal post linked to above.
