Adesso, Nero

[attr="class","trooper_text"] Born with expressive language disorder, Nero cannot actively demonstrate his thoughts and emotions through speech or writing and is effectively illiterate. However, this does not mean he is devoid of feeling; rather, he is blessed with an abundance of empathy for other people, and is more than capable of compensating for his inability to talk and write through a wide array of colorful facial expressions and dynamic body language, which he couples with a powerful command of athleticism and acrobatics. As a side, this makes Nero a fantastic listener, and indicates a level of dependability that most men his age have yet to demonstrate, but many have consequently perceived him as being standoffish or socially awkward due to his own inability to convey what's on his mind, much to Nero's irritation.[break][break]

Of course, all of this must be put aside when he dons his robes for the Web Troopers, upon which Nero Adesso becomes closer to that of an unfeeling machine, an engine of cold rationality and unyielding self-restraint, capable of focusing single-mindedly on the objective at hand without being weighed down by the chains of attachment. This is the product of nearly two decades of intensive psychological conditioning and discipline in the martial arts, and a perpetual reminder to himself that his duty to the world is far more important than his involvement in its affairs. Gifted with mind of a hunter and the heart of a warrior, Nero Adesso takes a great deal of personal pride in his abilities and finds himself equally at home on the battlefield as he would slinking about through the shadows. He is both patient and persistent in his endeavors, qualities he is willing to express even in the most harrowing of situations. With the precision of a cobra and the tenacity of a mongoose all in one, Nero is not a man to be trifled with­­ if one can help it.

[attr="class","trooper_text"] Born into a middle-class Italian family with the inability to speak or write, Nero Adesso spent much of his childhood being patronized by his elders and peers for a supposed deficit in his general comprehension skills. But he was swift to surprise all by achieving a grasp of acrobatics as young as five years old, a talent that both he and his family capitalized on with great enthusiasm.[break][break]

Upon turning the age of ten, Nero's life would forever change the moment he discovered, seemingly by chance, a collection of Japanese memorabilia stashed away in his parents' attic, coupled with a series of well-preserved documents that linked his family to a clan of 16th century tradesfolk that operated as agents of espionage and assassination under the command of Hattori Hanzo himself, one of the most famous historical ninjas to ever live.[break][break]

From that moment forward, Nero Adesso committed the fabric of his entire identity into modeling himself in the image of a modern-day shinobi, an obsession that would bleed into every possible aspect of his life. He became more secretive in his daily affairs, and took up an interest in the practice of free-running and martial arts philosophy, and eventually the techniques and skills that were covered under the umbrella term that all today would call 'ninjutsu'.[break][break]

Soon, this interest would develop into hands-on application, and by the time he was old enough to demonstrate outstanding competence in numerous athletic sports at fifteen, Nero had taken to learning the basics of hand-to-hand combat, all while further refining his understanding of the principles of stealth and espionage, leading a double-life the entire time. He couldn't read, but he could understand diagrams, and that was more than enough.[break][break]

Nero would go on to formally complete his education and finally parted ways with his parents and siblings on good terms at twenty years old, where he officially disappears from the record books without leaving so much as a paper trail behind.[break][break]

For a five year stretch, Nero is assumed to be entirely nonexistent before he suddenly winds up all over the Russian news for his supposed role as the lone mastermind behind an extremely complex plot that resulted in the assassination of a prominent ambassador, where it was then revealed that he had connections to a black market weapons outfit. No one is certain as to why he killed this man or what his motives were at the time, but the amount of detail and skill that was invested into the moments leading up to his demise were regarded as an act of criminal mastery and earned Nero international attention.[break][break]

Desperate to slip back under the radar and out of the scopes of each respective government organization, Nero was soon contacted by a representative of the Japanese-based Web Troopers with an offer to have his records expunged and his identity essentially removed from the face of the planet in exchange for his skills in reconaissance and infiltration. He accepted without hesitation, realizing that they could offer him a chance to fully express himself the way he was meant to.[break][break]

Since Nero's first encounter with his Digimon partner Monitamon shortly after his induction, he has wholly devoted himself to the authority of the Web Troopers as his ancestors had done for the esteemed shinobi Hanzo, content with serving as an instrument for a cause far greater than himself.
