[attr="class","info_num"] 01. | [attr="class","info_head"] DATA |
[attr="class","info_text"] Currency on Digimon : Unity takes on the form of megabytes, or bytes for short as a general catch-all term for data. While a megabyte of data in regular IT terms may not seem like much, for Digimon, consider a megabyte as analogous to a cluster of cells. By accumulating data, Digimon are capable of growing stronger, eventually culminating in Digivolution.
[break][break]
Data is used by Digimon in a variety of ways, such as purchasing in new forms or attacks. It is also used by Solo Digimon to determine how long they can stay in their individual forms. While not its intended purpose, data can additionally be used as a currency. It can be used to buy cards for Tamers or discs for Solo Digimon on the Dark Net.
[break][break]
You can come by data in a number of ways, though probably the easiest is merely writing a post. A single post in data-gaining areas (either Tokyo, the Digital World, or the internet) awards 25 Bytes. Whilst a constant, rewards that require more risk and commitment will be far greater; data is often rewarded for participating in certain events, though this is a case-by-case basis. Data can be also rewarded through combat, generally via inflicting fatal damage to a Digimon and their data then being absorbed; though this does vary between PVE or PVP combat.
[break][break]
NPCs that are successfully deleted and absorbed by a player Digimon reward a percentage value of data based off the level and power of the NPC. The ratio increases with Tamer or Solo Digimon ranking.
[break][break]
PVP combat can only reward victors if both players agree on a Challenge Mode wager OR enabling death. If death is enabled and a player Digimon is deleted for good, their data may be absorbed just like an NPC Digimon. The same ratios as above apply.
