Kaida wasn't one to read the room well, except when it related to a danger towards her. Perhaps she was tempting fate, straying so near the water Tower, so far from allies, but it made her heart clench in the most delightful ways! A predatory smile split her face as she pulled out another strong smelling paint can, though her mouth was covered by her bandana. She had already done this once without repercussions, might as well earn more territory for Nightmare. For once, Jorgie was out, against the wall. His teeth were sharp and on display, eyes glowing red...yes, perhaps this wasn't just a boast for Nightmare...this wasn't a track either. Her hands trembled, cutting a swath through the toothy moon, it almost looked like it was drooling. Yes, she was looking for a fight. Tricks were all well and good, but showing betterment even in a fight? If everyone was about to explode anyhow, starting a fight now wasn't going to make a difference! @open |

GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
Two forms, one large and one small, dart swiftly and quietly across the shadowy rooftops of Shinjuku, silhouetted by both the pale silver of the full Moon above and the sea of colors and lights from the city below. Chatter from the Web Troopers comm channels was especially noisy tonight, and for good reason. Talks of a turf war between Nightmare and the Busters have been circulating for a while now, and with tensions rising between both sides, it was only a matter of time before an all-out melee broke out. Personally, Nero didn't care much for the politicking between the factions, nor did he like to concern himself with the motives of his own employers. His Digimon partner, Monitamon, felt much the same way. They were merely agents of a purpose higher than themselves, nothing more, and nothing less. Their commands were simple and easy enough: observe any fights that break out between Nightmare and the Busters, and collect any valuable intelligence on each skirmish. If a Trooper wanted to brawl themselves, the consequences were entirely on their shoulders. The two ninjas leaped and bounded their way from building to building until they closed in on a water tower, prompting the duo to slow their advance so that they could take cover behind a large ventilation duct. The human assassin peers out to notice that the tower's face had been surrepetitiously painted with Nightmare's distinctive emblem. With a meaningful nod to Monitamon, the duo break apart and take their positions in the shadows from atop the roof. Time to see where this went. |

JF13 - LAST RESORT
A card that can only be used if the tamer has no other card swipes remaining. Their partner Digimon gains +10 to all stats for 2 turns.
BS106 - CARD MINE
Sets up a trap that springs on use of card scans. The first tamer who scans a card will have their partner take an unavoidable moderate amount of Absolute damage. Lasts for 3 turns.
BS063 - BLACK CLAWS
Summons a pair of BlackGatomon's copied SaberLeomon claws for Digimon use. This set of easy-to-use lightweight claws boosts the user’s Dexterity by 5 Points and Strength by 5 Points while worn. Inflicts low Dark element damage. Fades away after 3 turns.
BC001 - REGARD RUBIS
Akatorimon's signature attack. The user attacks with flaming heat vision, dealing moderate Fire/Mental damage and having a moderate chance to inflict Stun for 1 turn and Curse for 3 turns.
BS081 - META COCOON
Veils Digimon in a cocoon of data to prep for Digivolution, functionally stunning them for 2 turns. While the user can break out at anytime, if they wait for the full duration and Digivolve to a higher level, that form gets +5 to all stats until the end of combat.
BS101 - HOLY RING
The Digimon gains a Holy Ring, commonly seen on many angelic or holy Digimon. The user gains a nullification to Light attacks and immunity to Curse status effects, their base affinity becoming Light. Lasts 5 turns.
JF08 - BLACKGATOMON SUMMON
Can only be used by Rank 2 Tamer or above. Summons a BlackGatomon that knows Black Lightning Paw (low Dark damage) and Black Lightning Howl (low chance of inflicting Stun for 2 turns, can be used once per summon) for 3 turns.
BS125 - ENTRENCH
Half Dexterity, Intellect, and Strength. Double Vitality, Defense, and Essence. Lasts two turns.
BS122 - CELESTIAL ARROW
Angewomon's signature attack. Launch a spear of moderate Light damage at an enemy. Inflicts Virus-attribute Digimon with Fear for three turns if it connects.
BS115 - WOLF CLAW
WereGarurumon's signature attack. Deals low Metal and low Water damage. High chance to inflict Wound for three turns.
JF11 - SPIKED CAGE
Creates a cage over one target, with spikes on both the inside and the outside. This effectively Roots the target for a duration of 3 turns. If any Tamer or Digimon physically attacks this cage, they will take low dark damage.
BS043 - ELEMENT CHAMELEON
Shifts a single resist/weakness/null of a target Digimon to a chosen affinity (except Absolute). Lasts for 5 turns.
SR12 - EASTERN MIST
Covers the field of battle (or at least a 60ft by 60ft radius) in a mysterious calming fog. No targets in this mist can have their Essence lowered. The mist fades away after 5 posts.
JF10 - ATTACK FROM THE SHADOWS
Empowers a target Digimon with dark energies. Their next three attacks (be it ability or basic) will ignore any resistances or nullifications to the dark affinity.
The days that had followed Obito's release from the hospital had been quiet, moody and left an emotional scar on him. Too many times had Obito been a victim of evil tamers. It made him furious-- and made Panthermon even angrier than he was-- or perhaps touchy was a better term. BUt Obito vowed no longer he would be such a victim. He now spent more time in the tower around SHibuya. He had told his parents he was out with friends, but he was now on his own as the tower was empty. ANy of the digimon there were in the quarters of the place, while Obito watched from the window, brooding... ... till he saw the suspicious white-haired person with a paint can come close to the tower. With paint and a digimon among the person, Obito saw it and his eyes narrowed into angry points. Someone from nightmare coming to vandalize their neighborhood. Obito didn't really care about the turf war, but he was a Buster and obligated to go and check it out. Panthermon watched from the bench that overlooked the window, seeing the same person and growled with anticipation. "Let's go Panthermon," OBito said, walking towards the elevator. Panthermon, however, had his own way of getting around. As he rose up to his feet, the black cat with the golden bracers and holy ring on his rear leg faded away as if he was a mirage.
Obito had arrived at the ground floor and taken the other exit around an ally till he found the person with the paint, attempting to begin drawing a moon crest on the building. He was right... Nightmare, another group of rogue tamers. Obito frowned as he looked behind the corner. With his connection to Panthermon, he knew his partner was coming. He took a deep breath.. then stepped out from his hiding place to confront the person. "I'm only going to ask once..." he said, his words polite, but his tone low and edged with hostility, " Drop the paint and get lost. If you came looking for trouble, its going to bite you in the ass faster than you can imagine." Obito held his Digivice in his pocket, ready to act the moment this person did any kind of hostile action. ( OOC: DO you want this free form combat, or do you want to do challenge mode on this? Also offical statement, my new ability for champion form was approved but not yet added to digivice. Staff have said it can count here, so please if any question ill link the ability in DT. Kaida twitched her head to the side, already bristling at the presence. One of her feet were trembling, what was wrong with her? She...wanted this conflict. She could feel where the burn in her leg had left a scar, even now sometimes it burned for no real reason, but right now it was red-hot. To fight someone, and beat them...that would be nice. It's good for Nightmare too, so she had nothing to lose. Kaida leaned against the wall nonchalantly, bared teeth hidden behind the bandana, and coughed out a harsh growl. " Showed up fast this time. Why not in Buster Tower?" Her voice held the edge of pride, and she honestly had to say, she felt good. The Busters meant nothing. She could walk into their home and ruin it, and none of them could stop her, and she was going to prove it. To who? Probably herself, and that damned shaking leg! She didn't move, but a serpentine shape slithered to the side and climbed up to her shoulder, flicking its tongue for a second before a shuddering hiss exposed its fangs. " Recognize it? Left it in Buster Tower too. No problem." She held the paint can like a make-shift weapon, " Let's just do this, 'k?Gonna happen anyway. You're no problem." For a little while, nothing happens. Nero gestures to his ninja partner with a circular motion of his fist, a silent instruction for him to swing around and gain a better perspective.
With a confirmatory "thumbs up" emoji, the TV-headed Rookie lets loose a hand seal, and his body vanishes into thin air the moment a gust of wind blows loose foliage across the rooftops, completely invisible to all forms of detection by the effects of his signature Leaf Concealment Ninjutsu art.
The Web Trooper himself remained low to the ground and kept his position behind the vents, peering out occasionally while Monitamon flitted to the left, remaining in the shadows for maximum effect.
In the span of approximately thirty seconds, Monitamon had covered enough distance to earn himself a front-row seat on the roof of a warehouse more than forty meters away from the water tower the Nightmare girl and her serpentine Digimon claimed as territory, taking full advantage of his head's uniquely apportioned properties to telescope his vision to safely monitor the unfolding scene.
Then, a young man in sleek black clothes begins to approach the water tower, seemingly unarmed and without protection, practically demanding the Nightmare tagger to drop the paint can and vacate the premises before trouble broke out. She takes none of his threats seriously, even going as far as to project a few animal-like traits. Like snarling. Was she gonna start foaming next?
Completely undetectable, Monitamon's screen for a face produces a quirky emoticon — [눈_눈] — to reflect the seriousness of this reconnaissance mission, for the Web Troopers, and his master Nero, needed all of the intel they could gather on these growing tensions. Leaf Concealment's remaining duration: 2 turns. - Under the effects of stealth, Monitamon cannot be targeted for attacks or effects. |

Something zooms across the night sky, swiftly moving from cloud to cloud. For a brief moment, the flying creature hovers before the moon, creating a clear, sharp silhouette as silver streaks bathe her form like a halo. It seems to be a slender woman (or at the very least, something eerily similar) with a ridiculously large hat and pair of limbs, riding on a... stick? Broom? Anyone guessing "witch" wouldn't have been too far off the mark.
A pair of glowing cyan orbs, the creature's only feature not obscured by the moon's backlight from that distance, scour the surroundings from far above. She swoops down closer - but not too close - to get a better look. One of them, the silver-haired girl, she had seen before. A fellow gang member, no doubt. That aggressive stance made it clear she was looking for trouble. She'd have to stick around and aid her if things got grizzly, but for now she decided not to intervene.
The corner of Vivianne's eye catches something far more interesting. A lone man, perched atop a water tower. Another onlooker? No, this was something different. His stance and choice of attire made it clear this man, whoever he was, was gathering information on the two figures below. She figured this strange man would, at the very least, keep her entertained until the time would come for her to act. With a woosh, the broom she was riding on made a sharp turn and swooped down until Vivianne was right next to the man. Lifting one of her crimson claws she waved at him, slender fingers waggling in the air while her lips turned intoa mischievous smile. "What's the matter, don't feel like joining the fun?", cooed the Witchmon, her raspy voice no doubt ringing in his ears. |

Vivianne Nero Adesso Kaida Adachi Obito kept a calm, silent demeanor as he stood there with his hands in his pockets. He had given fair warning to the person-- now he could identify as a girl from her tone of voice. THe snake on her person-- very likely her digimon partner, and confirmed she was a tamer too. What made it all the more clear was that she pretty much talked trash about the Busters and her vandalism was enough of a spark to set things off. From behind his glasses, she wouldn't be able to see the quiet fury in his eyes-- covered by the moon's gleam off his glasses. After a moment, he removed his glasses to adjust them, and revealed his still calm but now almost at ease expression of his eyes. A chuckle escaped him at the 'you're no problem' as if she was looking down at him. "Heh... Really?" he asked, clearly knowing something more. "You should take a look behind you before you start slinging threats." When Kaida would actually do as he suggests, at first she would see nothing there-- that is till a sudden shimmer of darkness appeared in the space there. From it, the silhouette of a black jungle cat with golden bracers and piercing yellow eyes emerged. It was motionless as if it had been there the whole time. As Panthermon appeared from his stealth abilities, he gave a growl of his own at the Nightmare tamer, clearly indicating his threat as well. Obito lowered his hand from his glasses. "You instigated this conflict between us, but believe me," Obito said and now gave the woman a firm glare. "... I will end it." He drew his digivice, ready for whatever this person was about to do. The night grew quiet save for the cold autumn breeze that swept across the building's towers, the chill giving them all a jolt. The tension was thick, and soon the first move would occure...

Kaida bristled slightly as the Tamer spoke, but didn't turn herself. After all, what if it were a trick? Instead, Jorgie acted like a second pair of eyes, and a hideous hiss erupted from his figure. The feline beast would not harm her, not without destroying him first! The sound was all she needed to know, it was legitimately not a bluff, good to know. The growl made her want to turn, but she wouldn't degrade herself like that, Jorgie was a trusted companion, and she needed to watch his back from this Tamer. " Be careful." Her words were spoken at a near gibberish speed, and Jorgie launched himself off her shoulder, using the momentum to whip his tail around to the feline's face. At the same moment, Kaida dropped the paint can and took out her Digivice and swiped out a Card Mine, grinning animalistically as the ground simmered. She knew Jorgie had weaknesses, she needed to cover him! Unfortunately, with her action, she left herself open. ...and the two were still unaware of the confrontation on the roof above her... (Card Mine active for 3 turns!)

A feminine voice, hoarse and teasing, calls out to the only person close enough to hear her. This causes Nero to instinctively twist his head and body to face the new interloper, where his eyes narrow into threatening slits the moment he notices a womanly figure, quite literally, hovering barely a few feet away from the spy.
She might have appeared the part of a human, but that ridiculous excuse of a Halloween get up, combined with the rather fitting mode of 'transportation', only suggested to Nero that she was a Digimon. And, based on his own experiences with creatures that had such a physiology, she was likely to be stronger than the average monster.
Her voice claws at his ears, perhaps even to the same degree of efficacy those talon-like fingers of hers were capable of. She wants, or rather expects, an answer from Nero as to why he wasn't part of the festivities. Damn it. This always happened to him.
The assassin sighs rather loudly at the Witchmon's question, only to give her a halfhearted shrug in an attempt to convey his absence of input. It was hard enough trying to explain his communication difficulties without having every sound that left his mouth come out as unintelligible gibberish. Maybe he just wanted to watch some dudes throw some punches?
Knowing his luck, she wouldn't interpret his prolonged silence very well.
Meanwhile, Monitamon continues to mess around with the telescopic settings of his self-described 'Camera Mode', zooming in and out periodically to make sure he didn't miss a single detail.
It is when his vision pulls back a third time that a burst of cyan-colored light flared within his face's built-in optical lenses, drawing his attention upward. But there was nothing to be seen, not even that which had potentially caused such an effect to occur.
"[ಠ ʖ̯ ಠ]"
Unsure of what it was, yet still determined to maintain focus on the mission at hand, Monitamon shakes himself free of any lingering doubts and takes a moment to update himself, noticing that the sleek-looking Tamer's partner, a caped black panther, had materialized quite close to the Nightmare girl and her serpentine Digimon, once more expressing their combined willingness to throw down and rumble if it got too dicey.
It was almost time to relocate anyway. His stealth cloak was just about ready to run out, and he would need to constantly remain on the move if he wanted to fully avoid the brawl that was quickly getting ready to break out. Monitamon was confident that Master Nero could handle himself.

The Digimon gave his new acquaintance a quick tap on his shoulder with one of those large, crimson digits. She flashed a mischievous smile as her other hand ildly petted the black cat familiar that had, out of nowhere, appeared on her lap. "Don't tell me - cat's got your tongue?" Vivianne's slender tongue playfully snuck out of her mouth for a moment, and then she cast her gaze towards the two figures that stared each other down on the horizon. She squinted, focusing the cyan light that emanated from her eyes. "Uh-uh, trouble's brewing!", she gleefully exclaimed while excitedly jumping up and down on her broom.
Kicking her heels, Vivianne quickly makes a loop around the water tower. Now she's switched places, hovering directly to his left. With the back of her hand, she poked at his shoulder once again. "Who're you bettin' on, quiet boy? I think the silver-haired girl is totally going to w-" And then, she saw the large panther-like monster appear behind her. "-get completely destroyed." A dejected sigh. "Fuck. I'm going to have to go and save her ass, aren't I? Urggghh." Her expression suddenly changed from annoyance to indiferent as she turned her head towards the Nero. Quizically, she raised an eyebrow. "Not much of a talker, are you? Come on. At least say hi." |

Vivianne Nero Adesso Kaida Adachi (Yes-- Persona 5 Battle music appropriate for this  ) Both tamers were clear on their intent and a battle was imminent. Even with Panthermon taking his position behind Kaida-- the snake was also a crafty digimon as well. As the Nightmare person slashed a card through her Digivice, the snake took action of his own and tried to close the gap to attack Panthermon. The time for cool introductions ended as Obito's eyes widened-- as did Panthermon's. "Panthermon! Evade!" Obito commanded. The simple command came to a far greater one-- as a sudden shift in Panthermon's data gave him a sudden surge of energy. Right as the snake was about to strike, Panthermon moved in a black blur that almost blended into the night sky around them. With an agile jump, the cat had scaled right up the water tower that had been marked by the Nightmare thug-- going out of reach of the snake's attack. A warning growl escaped Panthermon, his eyes firmly placed on the enemy snake Digimon. An unknown to Obito, he took out his digivice. Almost automatically, it lit up with a hologram screen-- and illuminated the darkness around Obito to reveal the digimon belonging to the Nightmare member. "Huh... this is a new one. 'Serpentmon'-- a rookie virus type digimon. Nightmare Soldier. " Obito mused aloud as he read the data on it-- and soon saw the hard statistics of the digimon. "That's annoying. Panthermon-- its resistant to your Darkness attacks!" he called out to his partner. He also noted the weaknesses of this digimon. He gave a light grin, having already an appropriate strategy to deal with them. Moving like a true jungle cat, Panthermon leered at the snake with a new sense of alertness. Despite the news his partner relayed, he wasn't worried. "I hear you. Don't worry..." he growled. With that, Panthermon leapt clear through the air. From his maw, fire glimmered in the nightlight. "SPIRAL FLAME!!" With a jaguar's roar, fire shot from Panthermon's maw and traveled as a spiraling stream right for Serpentmon. Roll for Status effect Burn (60 or higher for success) : BzneMVAf

Panthermon used "Ghost of the Jungle" -- raising his Speed by +6 for 4 turns. New speed to evade physical blow. Obito analyses Serpentmon, able to see his resistances and weaknesses (rank 4 tamer skill). Panthermon uses Spiral Flame-- Moderate fire damage incoming towards Serpentmon, and capable of burn status.

" Gaaaah!" Kaida's head shot up as her partner screamed, and the unmistakable sound of flames and a burning sensation surged up her back. A horrible feeling of wanting to flee made her heart thump in her throat, and she clenched her fists to keep her body still before leaping back towards Jorgie. In about a second, she had him in her hands. A thin layer of data was burnt off his scales, and he appeared severely injured...appeared so... Kaida straightened out, turning her back for the briefest of moments before throwing Jorgie for that stupid cat! He was lighter than she thought, or she was stronger, he soared right to the tower. Cheap Shot. Jorgie slammed into the water tower, feigning pain for the briefest second, then lunged with jaws wide open, strength apparent in his jaws. His coils opened up, and he went to grasp the cat's neck-! Kaida whirled on the boy, face somehow more frightening than Jorgie, and ran for the boy. She brought her shoulder forward, anticipating resistance, everyone was fucking huge to her! (Cheap Shot launched, strength raised by 6 and Trash damage launched. Nero cringes visibly as the Witchmon reaches out to touch him, not one for having his personal space invaded so freely and without permission. She even throws an expression his way, all while stroking her own, uh... cat?
