Searing Justice (Encounter)

The man was direct-- that was for sure, but if it meant he wasn't gonna attack Obito, then he was all for it. He was right, now was not the time for questions as he shook his head to get back into the fight. Even Panthermon was in agreement.

"Obito! Don't hit a gift horse in the mouth-- or doofus dragon in this case," Panthermon semi-jabbed as he remembered the somewhat silly Dracomon from before. The cat landed, the effects of his high speed wearing off but his cat claws remained.

They were right. Obito closed his eyes for a moment and focused. He regripped his digivice, his determination set to stop this guy. Even if he had qualms to not want to fight an angel-- he certainly wasn't gonna roll over and let him hurt Panthermon. He was no demon, and as his tamer he was determined to prove that. "Go Panthermon! Tear him apart!"

Panthermon grinned to hear his words. "About time you got into the game, Obito."

Panthermon took another sprint around and swiped with his cat claws-- one for the light damage near the legs of Pidmon-- the next was another blow with his other claw-- this time glowing with dark energy. The panther was determined to get in as much damage as he could, now that he was powered up thanks to Obito's combos.

Still, Pidmon was growing aggravated. He glared at both the dragon and the panther. "Ha-- another demon beast comes to face justice, have you? Prepare thyself!" he roared and raised his wings out once more. This time, the wings glowed with furious power.

Obito's eyes went wide with realization. "Panthermon, get clear!"

"Apollo Tornado!!"

Pidmon glowed brightly and released his wings-- causing a blazing, blinding flash of light to spread outward. The funnel of fiery light blasted in all directions, tossing up bleachers, tables and other parts of the room around-- including Panthermon as it sent the cat flying across the room. The resulting blast would also hit Dracomon, knocking him into the air as well.

OOC: Pidmon-- Apollo Tornado-- deals AOE Light/Fire damage in a 360-degree area. The attack does low damage and knock backs enemies.

The wide range attack of Pidmon was a pain and Panthermon was not unscratched by it. He growled as he pushed himself back to his feet and shook his fur. "Grrr... This fly boy is starting to get on my nerves."

"HA!" Pidmon boasted, brandishing his staff. "You are but insects before my holy light! Now submit and face the awesome might of Justice!"

Obito frowned at the constant blabbering about Justice-- which was a rather black-and-white attitude on the whole thing. "Its like trying to talk to a 5-year old..." He grumbled. Obito quickly took out the second card and prepared himself.

He flicked the card up into the air to catch it-- a glare in his eyes as he focused. He then drew his arms across-- both card and digivice in either hand as he brought them together. The digivice flashed once more, powered up by the kinetic energy from the card slash. "Digi-Modify!" Obito shouted, "SPEED DRIVER ACTIVATE!!" He slashed the card through, his arms spread out to his sides.

With that, Panthermon's body flickered-- and his body felt charged with energy. The jungle cat took off-- and became like a blur, even for the fastest to detect. In a series of passes, Panthermon slashed around Pidmon- assaulting him with the powerful cat claws in quick succession.

"WHy you?!" Pidmon roared, feeling the slashes along his body and wings. He then flew upward-- and released another barrage of exploding feathers-- blasting on the ground aimed at Dracomon-- the only target he could see at the moment.

(Cards: 2/5-- Speed Driver used. Cat claws 3/3. Speed Driver 1/2. )

Pidmon used fire feather attack towards Dracomon.

Obito furrowed his brow as he saw Dracomon's attack hit-- but once again they weren't able to seem to make a dent against Pidmon's defense. Though their small attacks added up, it wasn't enough and it was only a matter of time before Pidmon would catch them. Akio's suggestion made sense. "Yeah, Pidmon's pretty tough against our attacks. He probably is resistant to them to some degree. " Obito looked at his cards-- then To Panthermon.

The cat still kept his state of speedy attacks moving-- but his claws were now gone. His speed dropped slightly due to it, but he still was a head up on Pidmon's attacks. Still, it wouldn't be long till he was a sitting duck again. "There has to be a way... come on... How do we work around Pidmon's defense and..."

Obito's eyes widened as his eyes came across a few of the new cards he got that evening. One of an odd shadowy wave surrounding a Nightmare Soldier Digimon-- and the super rare Ancient Sphinxmon card he found. "Perfect!" Obito cheered, a sense of confidence in his voice. "No way he will expect this!"

With the card raised, he lined it back up with his crossed arms. "Digi-modify!" He shouted and slashed the first card through. "ATTACK FROM THE SHADOWS-- Activate!" The slash of the card was fierce and caused another charge of energy to course towards Panthermon.

Panthermon was now on the ground, growing exhausted-- but then he felt a sudden energy around him. A black aura of power glowed around the jungle cat, giving him more strength. "HUh?" Panthermon gasped, feeling the surge in power. "What is this energy?"

"NOW PANTHERMON!" Obito shouted, now ordering his Digimon for the first time. "Strike now!"

Panthermon didn't argue nor hesitate as the cat soon dashed again with another blur of speed, using his SHADOW CLAW to strike at Pidmon---

--- And Pidmon released a loud cry of pain as the claw actually gashed along his body and knocked some of his feathers away from his wings.

A smile showed on Obito. "I knew it! Yes! This card allows Panthermon's attacks to hit!"

(OOC: Speed boost 2/2-- Wildcard ability now active. Attack from the shadows-- enemy no longer is resistant to darkness attacks done by Panthermon. 1/3.

Panthermon had moved out of the way with his lunge after Pidmon-- and soon saw as the bullets went flying. He saw as the bullets impacted Pidmon-- though while still resistant to that specific element. Only Panthermon could use the attacks of darkness effectively, but still whatever that card was-- it packed quite a punch. Even Obito was surprised from where he stood.

The digimon's speed was back to Normal and now Panthermon watched as Pidmon was now pushed into a corner between the two digimon. "I... I won't be beaten... by villains like you!" Pidmon shouted, now flying upwards to keep out of reach of their attacks.

"DOn't think your always right because you are an angel, you self-centered bastard," Panthermon growled and turned to Obito with the corner of his eye. "Obito-- let's finish this!"

With a tilt of his glasses, Obito smiled. "Right," He nodded and drew out his last card. Once more, he flipped it in the air, caught it and crossed his arms in the same swiping pose! "Digi-modify!!" He slashed the card and digivice together, producing another spark of electrictiy from the reader. This time he scanned his strongest card he had yet-- Ancientsphinxmon through the reader and pulled it free. "Ancientsphinxmon, activate!!" he roared, the card almost shining as he pulled it free.

An ominous air soon blew through the church as the dark aura around Panthermon seemed to grow and respond. The panther didn't move but firmed his stance and growled softly. He felt an energy bubble upinside him. He seemed to come off more feral now as he felt the energy fill him up. A glow of light also seemed to shine around his feet-- the data of the card surging through his body. He then released a very feral-cat-like howl and threw his head back. With the roar-- a temporary vision of a digimon-- Ancientsphinxmon-- appeared around him like a hologram, as if to take Panthermon's place for a brief moment.

Panthermon opened his eyes-- his eyes now glowing with a red light. "NECRO ECLIPSE---RHAAAAA!!" Panthermon roared. From his maw-- a pitch black wave of darkness erupted from his mouth. It moved as a wide-reaching blast that spread outward and made contact with Pidmon. The angel screamed as the darkness was too large for him to merely brush off... and easily consumed him in its power.

"N-Noooooo!" he screamed as the attack connected.

The two shadowy attacks worked in unison as they moved upon Pidmon-- striking him with powerful blows and overwhelming him. Though not enough to thoroughly destroy him-- the angel had suffered now significant blows and cried out in pain from the searing darkness on his body. The angel fell backwards and landed flat on the ground with a thud, his wings spread wide and his feathers fluttering in the air.

The two Digimon rookies had won-- with the aid of their tamers.

The angel groaned. "Foul demons... it seemed you have bested this angent of justice... Be warned," he went on weakly, "I am one of many agents who shall purify the wicked and soon the angents of the lord shall --"

THUD. Pidmon felt a pressure on his chest as he soon looked-- and found Panthermon, still aglow with a dark aura, atop of him. He had the angel pinned and claws lightly drawn near his neck. "Shut up, you mouthy pigion," the panther growled.

Obito came out from the safety of the pillar, with Aiko beside him and hesitated to see Panthermon's intimidating demeanor. "Remind me to never piss off Panthermon," Obito chuckled nervously. "Really, Panthermon. The fights over so we should--"

"Nothing would make me happier than to gobble up your date... " Panthermon growled, his eyes seeming to glow to emphasize his point. "However, my partner is not without mercy. Neither am I since you are no stupid beast. SO I suggest you return back to the digital world and leave us be-- because you called us Demons, which was not the case. "

Panthermon soon hopped down off Pidmon, keeping to his word.

Obito approached closer and looked up at Pidmon. "Please return back to the Digital World. Had you been another digimon on a rampage, we would of destroyed you otherwise and downloaded your data," he warned, "So please, return back to your world and not attack us again."

The angel paused for a moment, then smiled. "There is justice in your hearts after all. I salute your valor..." he said and crossed his arms.

A sudden black hole appeared below Pidmon-- seemingly a rift from the digital world to earth. With it, he folded in his wings and dove feet first into the void, vanishing inside it. With it, the hole began to stitch back up-- and the fog-like field began to grow less dense. Soon enough, the fog vanished along with the rift-- leaving Obito, Panthermon, Akio and Dracomon alone.

Obito sighed as he took off his glasses and wiped his brow with his arm. "That was an eventful encounter..." he sighed and soon became aware once more of the older stranger-- a person he had ran into several times. He turned to them, Panthermon also now on guard before the stranger and his somewhat slow-witted dragon. "Pardon my profanity in church-- but who the hell are you?" Obito asked directly, now wanting answers.

Obito was cautious as the man finally spoke up. With the digital field gone, the church was back to a normal run-down church. Even the flames caused by Pidmon vanished as if they never were. Now, though Obito focused on the older stranger. Though he didn't want to be rude, but he has seen this man in several places-- always with the company of that dragon-digimon who he never got the chance to really understand more. He always seemed to pop up in the most unanticipated time, for better or worse. Fed up being in the dark, Obito risked being a bit assertive.

"Obito Kamigawa, " Obito stated plainly and tilted his glasses a bit. "This is Panthermon." Even too, Panthermon kept a firm, quiet stare at Akio-- and the seemingly happy puppy-like dragon. The soft sound of a growl escaped Panthermon, also on guard since they had bad run ins with mean tamers.

"JUst who are you guys anyway," Obito asked, "And I don't mean by name. We seen you all over the place in all sorts of places. Even more suspicious, you have a Digimon too. Don't you think you should explain yourself?" he asked, feeling there was more to this than just a tamer being 'nearby'.
