So, this was Buster Tower huh? Home to the Shinjuku Busters, who for as far as Hyde knew, really considered themselves to be like cops, but for digimon. And by 'cops', Hyde meant homicidal maniacs who hunted down any digimon who didn't have a tamer. Sure, most would have caused problems if left unchecked, but not everyone was like that. Not to mention they were being backed by some corporate bigwig. The whole thing just left a bad taste in Hyde's mouth. At least groups like Nightmare admitted that they were really a gang. Needless to say, there had been some trouble between himself and the group. Nothing major, he just liked messing with them now and again. Nothing illegal or anything of the sort. Though it was enough to give him pause when he learned they were having an open house of sorts and holding some sort of tournament. Though some drinks quickly squashed those doubts and here he was. He was leaning against the wall in the main foyer of Buster Tower, looking at the results for the first round of the tournament. Apparently there was gambling going on here too. Damn. Hyde would have loved to make some bytes off of this. Still, he was surprised to see that not only was a human taking part by himself, but had actually one his first match. Note to self. Put money on that guy.[/b] Meanwhile, his partner Grimes floated at his side. It was nice not having to remain hidden for once. |

Nicholas Hyde Akio Higashi It was a bright day in Shinjuku as Rei made her way up towards the tower. Her day at school had ended and she was lucky it was close to the tower. She should of gone home-- but she wanted to check it out. Unlike Nicolas-- and others who shouted from the high heavens that the Busters were zealouts who deleted digimon without cause or issue-- , Rei was more hopeful. She had not known about anything less than them being the safest kind of group where Digimon and humans co-existed. Rei had spent many hours online after her chores and found enough information that the tower here was actually home to a group of people who were digimon tamers-- much like herself. Unlike herself though, she probably was far younger than their usual members and probably didn't have such an unusual partner. Though that could have been her own opinion since Musimon was rather-- outspoken. Naturally, she came alone-- she never told her brother about Musimon and didn't intend to now. But this was not a secret she could keep alone. With Musimon once more posing as a stuffed animal/backpack... she made her way towards the front door of the tower. "Is this really what you want to do?" Musimon asked while Rei held him in her arms. "Though i suppose you can't believe everything you hear online-- opinions anyway, yo!" Luckily with so many people around, no one paid attention to Rei or her talking 'stuffed animal' that looked some multi-armed bunny rabbit. She looked up at the tower, now feeling axious and hugged Musimon closer. "But if we don't go in and ask around... we won't even learn if it is worth joining. I promise if I think anything is amiss, I'll leave. Besides, I doubt they would act in people's good if they just also fight Digimon who just want to live peacefully." Musimon gave a soft whistle of approval. "You know what I say," he gave with a thumbs up of his ears. "Follow the rhythem of your heart, baby!" Rei sighed. "Musimon, please don't call me baby... " "I-I just mean that like music, yo. Ya know?" With Musimon's odd phrases aside, Rei entered the lobby of the Busters' Tower.

As Rei would step into the foyer of the tower, she would hear a rather familiar voice speak out, loud and clear.
"What do you mean you haven't got a bar here!?"
Standing not far away was the tall, lanky form of Nicholas Hyde, his partner Grimes floating besides him. The two were talking to what was possibly one of the workers here at the tower, who was trying to keep himself calm. "Sir, you are away that a number of our members here are under the legal limit, correct? As such, underage drinking here is forbidden."
The tall man scoffed. "Oh don't give me that crap. No underage drinking, so you can't have a bar for the adults? And yet despite underage drinking being a big issue, you've basically got an underground fighting tournament, where you're pitting humans against Digimon, AND you're endorsing underaged gambling on top of that. Not to mention in the eyes of the law, all you guys are criminals to begin with. If you're going to flaunt the law, go all the way with it! Don't half ass it!"
Hyde grumbled irritably as he turned to walk away, Grimes throwing up a gesture which could only be described as 'you just got served!'. Hyde knew he should have pregamed before coming here. The one eyed man paused when he saw a familiar sight. That little girl and her backpack digimon. "Oh. Hello."

Nicholas Hyde The receptionist was kind enough to allow Rei to take the elevator up-- it was as if she instinctively knew the stuffed toy was not a stuffed toy. But it probably was a common excuse for any child harboring a Digimon around. At the very least, Musimon could pass for one since he looked so-- unbelievable. She was welcomed up to the floor where the events of the tournament was going on-- though her interest in the actual tournament was small. She wasn't even legally allowed to gamble! What she hoped to do was learn about maybe joining the Beaters in the interest to keep Musimon safe and find other good Tamers who could help her. As she got out of the elevator, she heard the shouts of a man yelling about not having a bar. He went on about underage gambling, breaking the law-- pretty much perpetuating all the bad rap that the Beaters had, which made Rei nervous now. The last word of 'ass'-- Musimon used his ear-like arms to reach up and cover Rei's ears behind her black cap. "DUDE!!" Musimon shouted-- his shout as loud as a speaker to get the rude adult's attention. "This is a CLEAN Rated audio-atmosphere, yo!" Rei glared down at her partner. "Musimon-- I'm 11. I'm not stupid," she grumbled, but gave the strange rabbit a rub on his head. Though Rei glared at the rather crass man. The eye-patch didn't bother her so much than his attitude, and how he started to fight with her brother as he did back then.

Before Hyde could even get a word out, that big eared digimon of hers shouted at him full blast, causing the one eyed man to cover his ears. What the crap was that for? What the hell did he say to warrant THAT reaction? Even the little girl seemed annoyed at her digimon for covering her ears. It took Hyde a little bit to figure out what caused him to shout.
"Seriously, if THAT'S too much for you tamer, she's in for one <skree!> of a shock when she..." Hyde trailed off as he looked down at his partner. "Did you just bleep me?" The gear digimon turns it gears. "Well, there is a little girl present." Hyde stared at his partner. "That...is actually kind of funny." He stood up and took a deep breath, "<skree!> <skree!>-ity <skree><skree><skree>." Hyde paused and eyed his partner, a challenging smirk, " She sell sea shell-<skee!> Damn it!" Hyde laughed at his failure to catch out his partner. Grimes grinned, "You see? I'm awesome!"
The grinding of Grimes' gears was enough to drown out his swears, and some of the others in the room were getting some humour from the fact that his digimon was effectively acting as a living censor to his tamer.

Nicholas HydeRei tried to be patient and polite but the man was very odd-- that and her mother always warned her to never talk with strangers. Sure the risk of that was lessened now that she had Musimon by her side, but still, she exercised caution around people. However, her faith was more assured when she saw the strange red-colored gear-like creature appear beside him and used his own sound to retract his tamer's fowl mouth. Curious, Rei took out her Yellow Digivice from her pocket-- and the image of the digimon appeared. "Huh... Solarmon, a rookie machine digimon." Curious, she put it away and tried to talk to them. "Um, excuse me? Musimon however was less willing to have Rei talk to them. "You're wasting your time, Rei-chan. This guy lacks serious harmony, fool-da-fool!" he said, crossing his giant ear-like arms as if to disagree. Rei however looked to her partner, her blue eyes showing her interest. "But, Musimon-- we should try to get along with other tamers. Besides, they might be members of the Busters too or something? We need to learn more about them." It would be made clear that Rei wanted to join such a team-- whether Nicolas was a good role model to take after of course... was questionable at best.

Hyde was getting some amusement put of the fact that his digimon was able to effectively bleep out his curses, when his attention was drawn to the little girl actually addressing him.this was certainly a first. Her little digimon had been throwing flack around earlier, and she had been glaring at him. Before he could respond though, her digimon spoke up, and the two had a small debate whether they should talk to him or not. Apparently she was seeking to make some contacts with other tamers.
"And you chose me first? I'm flattered," Histone seemed less...snarky as he talked to her. Maybe because she hadn't done anything to earn it...yet. "But as you may have guessed from earlier, I ain't a member of the Busters. And don't worry, I'm not with Nightmare or the Web Troopers either. Just a lone man and his digimon making their way in the world." He leaned on his partner, who seemed capable of supporting his weight without difficulty. "But what about you? Why's a little thing like you planning to join the busters?"

The first round of matches had just finished. Akio was having a good time watching the matches. These tournaments were always a lot of fun. But the time it took for some of the matches to finish meant he was sitting for quite some time. He needed to get up and stretch his legs and go to the bathroom. He stood up and did a little stretch before stirring Dracomon to wake him up. He had fallen asleep during the matches. [break][break]
The little dragon's eyes twitched open. He let out a large yawn as he started to waken. He picked up his head off the floor and looked around the room. Then like a cat or a dog waking up from their nap he arched his back while still down on all fours. He then stood up onto his hind legs and gave his wings a little flutter. [break][break]
"Is it all over?" He asked a little confused. [break][break]
"Yeah the first round has ended. You slept through the second half of it." Akio teased. But it was what happened. "Lets go it break time." [break][break]
Akio headed to the bathroom first. This was more important to him at the moment. He could stretch his legs more in a minute. He made his business quick he didn't want to keep Dracomon waiting. Once he returned he and Dracomon headed to the elevators. He waited for one of the bay doors to open so they could head back down to the street and take a walk. Finally the doors on the far right opened up. He headed over to the elevator and road it down to the main lobby. [break][break]
The doors opened up on the first floor. The lobby was extra busy today. This was to be expected with the tournament that was occurring upstairs. Most people seemed to just be passing through. This was the case for nearly everyone except for this older man and this little girl. He couldn't hear what was happening but something didn't seem off. He decided he would go and check in and see what was happening. [break][break]
"Is everything okay over here?"

Akio Higashi Nicholas Hyde Though Nicholas seemed like a rather intimidating older man, he was not completely unfriendly, Rei felt as she hugged Musimon close to her chest. She kept a constant look around the seemingly sharp and futuristic atmosphere of the Busters HQ. "Well... I only became a tamer recently, and I didn't know about any of the teams or groups till now. I even don't know how to tell them apart," she said. "Really I'm not looking to pick fights but... I just want to learn how to be a good Digimon Tamer for Rhyme-- I mean, Musimon here." She gave Musimon a gentle hug, urging a blush from the little yellow-furred mutant bunny rabbit. She did feel a tad insecure with all these older people around. She saw a few kids close to her age, but most were mid-teens like her brother. All the while, Musimon kept a protective glare at Nicholas, still not trusting the brutish looking man-- even with his Solarmon companion. "Anyway," Rei continued, "I know very little and was hoping to find some pointers. This place seems to be the safest place to learn and stuff." It was then the voice of another person caught both their ears and Rei turned to see handsome dark-haired gentlemen. The way he was nicely dressed and with his sleek black hair made Rei seem almost shy. A small tinge of a crush formed in the back of her mind, finding him very prince-like. She tucked Musimon closer to her chest-- almost causing the little guy to feel claustrophobic with her grip. "Uh-- n-no sir. Hi. I'm Rei Oto... I'm kind of new to being a Digimon Tamer, and looking for help." "Rei... Rei-chan..." Musimon coughed,-- which caused her to loosen her grip. Musimon hopped out of her arms and caught his breath. "Easy. I love da hugs, yo-- but gotta let me have my space to breathe," he replied in a joking tone. Rei seemed frazzled and bowed to Musimon. "I'm sorry..."

So, the kid was a newbie at this, huh? Well, she was only eleven. Still, she was handling her digimon pretty well for someone so young. "Well, allow me to teach you." Hyde spoke up, "Busters would most likely be dressed nicely and proper, since they're working for a corporate big wig. Nightmare are, well, basically punks with Digimon. So, you know, avoid those. Web Troopers tend to wear gas masks and may or may not have weird tech installed in themselves."
It was at that point a young man approached them, accompanied by a dracomon. Judging by his clothes, Hyde was getting the distinct impression this was one of the busters. "See? This is a good example of a Buster," Hyde said, basically showing off the guy to the girl, "Well dressed, proper, and may or may not have a rod firmly planted in his backside." Grimes laughed at Hyde's joke as the lanky man took a step back. "But yeah, there's really no right or wrong way tobe a tamer. Just don't treat your partner like crap, and don't go commiting robberies or murder, and you're golden."

Interesting this girl was a new tamer, just like Obito. Why are all the tamers he meet brand new to this. For once he would like to meet someone who wasn't brand new to this. Oh well guess that was his role now, guide to those new to this. But he was glad to hear that there wasn't some kind of altercation occurring here. Although this guy was very bold in the way he spoke, even with such a young child here.[break][break]
This guy had no filter. He promptly insulted Akio just as he showed up to the conversation. He was good though he hid it in what sounded like a complement. He complimented his style and manners, but said he had a stick up his butt. He let out a sigh in response to the man's insult.[break][break]
The girl on the other hand seemed to all of sudden find a case of extreme shyness as he approached. She seemed to have been holding a decent conversation with the other guy. But when Akio approached she seemed to just shut up. She even tried to hide behind her digimon. He could have sworn her cheeks turned red too.[break][break]
"Well I am glad everything is okay over here." Akio decided to just ignore the insult the other guy had paid him. Turning to the little girl he crouched down to her level. "So you're a new tamer huh? How long have you had your partner digimon?"

Akio Higashi Nicholas Hyde Musimon gave Nicholas a glum stare as if to say 'seriously?' with his rather direct choice of words. The talk about criminals and cyborg tamers might scare anyone at Rei's age and Musimon gave him a glare. "You really suck at talking to kids, don't you, Yo." Musimon outright put down Nicholas. It probably might end up in a straight-up run-- with Musimon running away from angry Nicholas... but it was typical of Musimon. He at times wouldn't have any control over his words. He knew how to use words-- but when it came to being up front, he always spoke his mind. Rei wasn't sure how to reply to Nicholas-- but nodded to him. She couldn't imagine herself going out and using Musimon for crimes. "I-I'd never misuse Musimon like that!" she said . However, she soon saw the man from the Busters approach her and she straightened up in attention. "Uh, oh... Yes, I am. I got Musimon about a week ago. Since then I been looking around trying to find others," she explained, "I'm not the most knowlegable person about Digimon... but I want to learn. Look," she said and reached into the pocket of her baggy shorts. She pulled out a large stack of cards she got recently. "I heard these cards were important. But I don't know much about the game... maybe someone could teach me a bit about them?" she asked. Paused hopping away from Nicholas, Musimon smirked. "Come on, Rei.. no need to be overly polite," he said-- and hopped again into the air.

Well it was good this little girl had her partner. It seemed that he was as sharp witted and silver tongued as the man who was taking with the little girl. That was good it meant she would be protected from other silver tongued tamers like this guy. It seemed that her digimon had stunned the other man. He had gone silent. He seemed to have so much to say up to that point. He was acting almost like a bully. They have a whole lot to say when they think they are in control of the situation. But if you confront them and show your own strength they will stand down. [break][break]
The girl was so cute. She had such a soft demeanor about her, he was stunned that someone like her really had a digimon. Her time line for getting her new digimon partner was interesting. This was about the same time the Obito had told him he had met with Panthermon for the first time. That got him wondering if there was some kind of mass exodus of digimon from the digital world around then. If there was it was all digimon that were partnered with tamers. He doesn't remember seeing a lot of rouges popping up back then. He felt like if there was a mass exodus of rouges there would have been an all hands on deck situation here.[break][break]
"Yes your right the cards are important for a tamer to have. You can use them to modify your own digimon briefly and give them powers they normally wouldn't have." Akio explained to the little girl. "Its not super important that you know how to play the card game very well to be a good tamer. I personally never played it competitively but I am still a successful tamer." Akio smiled at Rei trying to reassure her that everything would be okay for her. [break][break]
As she showed him some of her cards he noticed one in her grouping that he could explain to her. He reached into the group and pulled out the card and then put it back on top so she could see it. "You see this card here. If you swipe it during a battle it will give your partner the ability to use its attack. So your partner will be able to attack like the digimon on this card."

Hyde gave a simple shrug at the Musimon's comment. He didn't seem bothered by the digimon's comment at all. "Probably best that I don't have any kids myself. But hey, the world is a scary place, especially now that you're in the digimon game. Better she learn all this now in a safe environment then have it sprung on her in a dangerous situation. Many of us aren't so lucky."
When the girl began showing her cards, the tall man bent over to look at them. "Not bad kid. Always a good idea to get a good spread of cards." If you were a tamer, having cards was essential. You wouldn't last long without them. As the Buster began explaining how they worked, Hyde gave a small nod. "Another little tidbit. There are some cards that even some humans can use. Mainly equip cards. Now I'm not saying you should just go rushing in alongside your partner, or that you're partner's sloppy enough to let enemies get by him, but a little extra reassurance never hurt anyone."

Akio Higashi Nicholas Hyde Rei listened intently to the older gentlemen and was relieved she didn't need to know all the cards regarding the card game. Still, part of her wanted to learn about the game. As far as Musimon-- she had no clue the digivice could really edit a Digimon's abilities like that. She only did it once in an emergency situation-- she didn't even think. She just used it cause she and Musimon were in danger. Both of the adults began to be of help-- as Musimon stopped trolling Nicholas and hopped back to Rei. The little guy jumped upon her back and hung on her shoulders like a monkey would. She didn't mind and giggled as Musimon climbed up her. She then took out her Digivice-- tied on a string around her neck to keep in touch. She pulled it out from her oversized sweatshirt and showed the yellow-colored device to them. "This here? The reader?" she asked, spotting the card reader on her digivice. She then looked to one of her cards-- a Shoutmon card with a microphone in hand. "Hmm... let's give it a try." "YOO!!" Musimon cheered happily. Casually, she brought the card up and swiped the Shoutmon card to the device-- and caused a whirl and beep of sound. MUsimon hopped down-- and in his ear-shaped arms... a large microphone suddenly appeared. It was large for him-- average size for a human to use as well. His eyes twinkled at the great media tool. "Rei-chan! This is great! I GOT A MIC! You know what this means?" he asked. She had a nervous twitch to her eye as she saw Musimon get all excited. "Um... no?" she said. "PARTY TIME--- BAAABYYY!!" Musimon shouted into the mic, echoing all out the wide area of the Buster's floor. Musimon's power kicked in with the Microphone-- and caused a rather upbeat-rap like melody to play around Musimon. He began to rap with the sound and words of the music-- picked up from what he learned from Rei's music and the internet. The little guy began to boogie to the beat... even Rei couldn't help but smile at the upbeat melody. It seemed to be 'empowering'.
