Kasumi Iwamoto It was a few days after the tournament and Greymon attack that had disrupted much of Shinjuku and Shibuya area. How it all was slowly recovering and returning back to daily life seemed to baffle Obito. But what hurt most, was that just when he thought he was making progress... both Obito and Panthermon were attacked and sent flying across the street from an explosion. It seemed the Greymon had taken a key to their speed attack and struck at the last moment. Panthermon was hurt, but not severely, and Obito was sent knocked down from the resulting explosion too. While the wounds of the battle were not bad, even for Obito-- their pride was far from healed. After working so hard, neither of them had made any headway as a digimon or tamer in strength. It had urged Obito to work harder. However, it still left a sour taste in their mouth. Now on this clear day in Shinjuku park, both Obito and Panthermon were in an isolated grove of trees, hidden out of sight by the general public or company that came wandering around. Both of them hoped to get in training for sharpening their skills. For Obito he sat calmly, cross-legged. In one half, was his school books for studying that he had to do-- and on another hand, he held his Digimon cards, seeking combos and ideas for better battle combinations. Panthermon on the other hand, was clawing at a thick tree with his darkness-laced claws. The cat furiously scratched at it with lunging passes, leaving claw marks deep into the bark. The growls from the cat could give clean indication the feline was not happy. Even with his wounds healed, he was furious they were knocked out by the Greymon. "I can't believe this. Of all things-- we were defeated and knocked out!" the cat snarled and clawed at the tree. He would stalk back away-- then charge again to deliver another slash of his claw. "I refuse to accept this! Not once-- but twice!" Obito sighed as he looked up from his book. "Panthermon, we were struck by a fireball," he groaned, trying to talk down his partner. "There was no way we could be prepared for that. We did our best." "OUR BEST WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH!" he snarled-- and took another deep swipe of the tree, now leaving a far noticable claw gash into the tree. "We are better than that!" Though isolated, one who was seeking out the unusual could tell where they were-- especially with Panthermon venting his frustration on the forest.

Breathe in, breathe out. Move on.A small smile on Kasumi's face made a good deal on how much she was enjoying her little routine. She had been doing this for like, fifty minutes or so, and thought she had covered most of the park. Maybe she'd get a little break after finishing, or just head back home. Maybe buy some stuff or something. For now, her gaze affixed itself on the path ahead of her, and on maintaining a steady rhythm. Well, at least until her eyes wandered into what looked like... a black cat furiously clawing at a tree almost as if it were the most common thing in the world. After quirking an eyebrow and momentarily gripping the strap of her duffel bag with a bit more strength than usual, she began to approach that place. Oh well, guess that it'd pay to check that out; if problems were brewing or something, she'd like to be aware of that from the get-go. And what she found out didn't surprise her as much. A guy, probably around her age, but way taller than him accompanying the cat as he seemed to unleash his anger on that poor tree. Give it time, and that thing would probably come crashing down. "Yo." She said to him, her face somewhat blank regarding what was unfolding. "Yanno this is a public park, right? Even if we're a little far from most peeps, if little kitty keeps making a ruckus, they're are bound to notice. Don't know if you want that or not, but that's probs not good news." Obito Kamigawa1. Kasumi IwamotoObito sighed as he closed his book. It was hard for him to juggle training and studying alone-- especially with his partner venting steam like this. "Panthermon, chill! Don't get your whiskers in a knot," he said and rose to his feet. "If you keep this up someone is going to notice--" Too late. It was then another voice interrupted them. Obito almost paniked as he spun around and looked to find a shorter girl looking from behind the grove of bushes. She had a bag with her and jogging gear-- probably out doing just that. However, she didn't even seem shocked to see a large jungle cat in the middle of the park-- let alone one tearing up a tree with his claws. "Ah! Uh-- I mean," Obito struggled to speak, caught red-handed with his Digimon partner. "I'm sorry but um..." Panthermon stopped and crouched low, as if threatened, despite the girl's casual demeanor. However, after he got over the initial surprise, Panthermon's sharper senses kicked in, and he could sense it on her. A strange scent that gave away something of a digital nature. She had a digimon close by as well-- unseen somewhere. "UM... " Obito struggled, unsure what to say. "You don't seem... paticularly shocked by this. We were training and..." Obito struggled, unsure how this stranger would react. He had of course no way of telling if she was just a passerby... or a tamer herself.

For somebody in a public park, glasses guy looked very surprised at being found out. Was he that absentminded or was this... something else? Nobody else seemed to be near, and this place, while secluded was still public, so... "Of course I ain't surprised by a digimon. Seen my fair share of them, yanno?" While her language was a little coarse, Kasumi didn't show any signs of being actually hostile. She had no reason to. "One could say most tamers would try to lie low after what happened a few days ago. Gotta say you're really brave. Or just dumb."Despite this, it seemed like the teenager's digimon wasn't all that keen on having a peaceful conversation. "I mean no harm, kitty; you can calm down." She shrugged nonchalantly. "Unless yer jus' itchin' for a fight, even if you could probably do yourself a favor and search for a more isolated area for that. Usin' a tree as a scratchin' post may not get that much attention, but I'm sure a full-blown digimon fight will do."Her gaze shifted back to her fellow teenager, curiosity deciding to act up. "So, it's tad obvious what I was doing here. What 'bout you? You could've gotten a scratch post for kitty in any pet shop, so I guess you ain't here just for that." Obito Kamigawa

Kasumi Iwamoto It was clear she wasn't hostile, but Obito felt a bit embarassed and put down by her choice of words. "We didn't think many people would come to this corner of the park. In my defense... I only became a tamer couple of weeks ago," he explained, "Besides, Panthermon is good at being unseen when it matters." Panthermon gave a small snarl at the girl-- but was silent by her logical and sharp point of view about causing attention. It was then that Panthermon's protective instincts kicked in. In that moment, Panthermon vanished in a shimmer of darkness-- becoming invisible to the naked eye. It was how he remained unseen and otherwise undetectable by most humans. At least now, if this girl was a threat, she couldn't find him easily. However, Obito connected the dots a bit more easily than Panthermon in his aggitated, defensive state. "You're a Digimon Tamer, too, aren't you?" he said calmly. He adjusted his glasses and tried to explain himself. "MY partner insisted on training, even though I told him he should rest up. We thought it was best to do it somewhere isolated and this was the only place I could think of in this stupid city..." Obito grumbled, not liking Tokyo as much as his hometown. From his 'hiding place' among the grove, Panthermon watched the girl intently and tried to sense the other digimon among her. Either way, he still was on guard but kept a distance. He knew Obito didn't appreciate just attacking without reason. Though the woman's silver tongue that put Panthermon's to shame made the cat dislike her at first. "I can assure you, I am not dumb..." Obitio defended himself, "Frustrated, that is something else. So I apologize if we gave the wrong impression."

The reactions Kasumi had gotten from the teenager had been... weird, to say the least, but those suddenly made some sense when he explained he was a bit of a newbie. "A greenhorn, huh? Well, guess you'll learn about how stuff works soon enough." For a second, she couldn't but also recall her first days a tamer, and how most things seemed either new or unexplored. Getting to look at the world in a different light surely was an eye-opener. Kitty banishing was something she hasn't expected, but she guessed that at least these guys weren't as green as they sounded. Guy had an interesting tale, for sure. With a slight nod, Kasumi sat on a soft patch of grass before resuming. "Yeah, you can bet I'm a tamer too. Chances are I would freak out or something if I saw kitty without bein' one, don't cha think? Anyhow, if you 'xcuse me..."She began to remove the weights from her wrists and ankles as she heard about everything dude had to say, not reacting to any of his arguments until the last phrase was uttered. "Frustrated, huh? Why might that be? I know for sure I didn't have a care in the world back when I was a greenhorn. Got mugged by Nightmares or somethin'?" Obito Kamigawa

Kasumi Iwamoto The woman was rather close from hitting the nail on the head. Obito attacked from that Daichi guy -- unwittingly not known he was from Hypnos-- and the fact of the Greymon attack and how Panthermon got hurt over it, rattled Obito. He glanced to the side, avoiding eye contact for a moment. "Something like that, yes..." Obito replied to her last comment. "It's not that we are dumb. Just I felt training practice in random locations is better since you don't get to pick and choose where a dangerous Digimon or enemy pops up." The somewhat down look of Obito was clear he had seen shit. If this woman knew the scare that Hypnos gave him and almost kidnapped them both... it was a scar close to Obito's chest. As she removed her training weights, Obito was relieved that she was in fact a tamer too. That was a good stroke of luck since Obito always wanted to meet new FRIENDLY tamers. He had not seen her during the tournament so she was not likely with the Busters. Still cloaked in his invisibility effect, Panthermon was relatively close. "Where is your Digimon Partner?" the cat's voice spoke out... almost like a ghost among the forest grove. The panthermon's senses itched with the sensation of a digimon but none in sight. Though keeping a distance out of respect, the cat had been prowling softly circling the woman. Obito shook his head. "Panthermon, I doubt you have to stay invisible. Just come out please," he requested. A sigh exhaled from Panthermon-- and he soon reappeared. The cat now sat about 3 meters away from the woman's left, now sitting patiently like a jungle cat lounging around.

A slight shrug was the first response the guy got. It didn't take much for Kasumi to know the response she got was half-hearted at the very best, but if dude didn't want to tell about it, she wouldn't press the issue further. Kitty, however, was a different topic whatsoever. She wasn't intimidated by him, but sure he was proving to be somewhat annoying. "Dun worry, he's not gonna attack your or your pal, mate. If that was our intent, he'd have already done so, don't cha think? He's probs sleepin' at the mome, or else he'd have gotten out and greeted you already. So sit there like a good kitty and wait for him to come out."In fact, given how much the cat was annoying her, she was already that he'd be the perfect match for Mirrormon, mostly given that both could manage to be a pain in the ass. At least his tamer managed to get him out of hiding, prompting her to relax some. Having an invisible, giant cat prowling behind your or something was a little creepy. Before she could comment about it, however, Mirrormon was starting to slowly get out of her bag, and in his sleepiness, was beginning to recognize that he had company. "Oh, greetings, everyone! My name's Mirrormon and it's my pleasure to make your acquaintance." Obito Kamigawa

Kasumi Iwamoto Obito sighed and rubbed the back of his neck as Panthermon appeared and sat down. "Please pardon Panthermon. He is... cautious," Obito stated with a roll of his eyes. It was hard to imagine someone this uptight came from his imagination-- though Obito could be just as on guard as he was at times. "Not to mention he has some Pride issues." he ended with a whisper. "I heard that," Panthermon growled and just laid down like a lion on the grass. Though annoying-- it was true. The panther had a strong amount of pride, hence why he was so grumpy to have a streak of losses dealing with digital menaces of late. Now that everyone was calmer, Obito was able to relax too as he watched his new tamer friend-- or so he hopes she would be. What surprised both of them however was the new presence of her digimon rising out of her bag. He let out a small yawn, but at sight of them all, introduced himself. A digimon named Mirrormon. Curious by such a Digimon, he took out his D-Power and analyzed him within Panthermon's vision. "Mirrormon-- a rookie mutant type digimon. That's an interesting one. He looks similar to Ancientwisemon." he commented, remembering the ancient warriors from the cards and stories. Panthermon rose up to his feet, curious by the floating mirror-shaped digimon. He could smell the other-worldly energy the little guy possessed. It was indeed a similar sensation-- one that a nightmare soldier like Panthermon would have. Panthermon slowly stalked around the digimon, sniffing him with curiousity. With the tension somewhat broken in the air, Obito looked to the girl and gasped. "Um... I'm very sorry for getting off on the wrong foot," he said with a bow of his head in apology. "I'm Obito Kamigawa. And... who are you?" Obito asked.

These two were an interesting duo, that much Kasumi had to admit. She waved a hand in dismissal to the apology directed at her right away. "No biggie. Jus' as long as kitty didn't try to make me his new scratching post, all's good." After a small pause, she began to ponder about that last phrase a small bit. "Acceptin' that you can't always win is part of life, I guess. Dealin' with failure is harsh, but what doesn't kill you jus' makes you stronger."Those were some rare quasi-wise words come from her, but if she knew about something, that was dealing with failure. Not reaching one's goals was something that sooner or later happened to everyone, especially if you were into anything competitive. For a digimon, kitty seemed to be awfully competitive, at least compared to the ones she had seen thus far. That could be a great driving force... or his downfall. Time would tell. Mirrormon on his stead seemed to be quite curious about Panthermon, his gaze affixed on him as he took on his feature, at least for what seemed like a couple of seconds. "So... what'd be your name?" It was funny how in between the humans, the one how introduced himself first was the panther's partner. Mirrormon had a plethora of questions pending, but introductions were the most important part! The redhead extended her hand at Obito's introduction, intending to offer it for a handshake. Of course she'd squeeze, but not enough to cause an injury if that was unexpected. "No prob, Obito. Name's Kasumi."After that was out of the way, she took a bottle of water from her duffel bag and began to drink a bit. "So, I take you guys have heard about all the stuff that happened in the last couple of days? Seems like things are gettin' a bit hairy over here." Obito Kamigawa

Kasumi Iwamoto Obito reached out and shook Kasumi's hand, happy to see she was a rather nice girl as well. The tension from before had died down and things were now much easier as Panthermon and Mirrormon investigated one another. Her words were very true and Obito knew that. He believed that the training and all of this was for them to get better, even their losses. But the clash that almost took Panthermon away from Obito scared him personally. But it was just as she said-- if they ever crossed Daichi again, they would be ready. Panthermon continued to sniff at Mirrormon, and of course couldn't help but peer at the mirror on his stomach. "Um.. Panthermon," Panthermon replied, "At times my partner calls me Shadow." (OOC: nickname i might consider naming him that) Clearly, Panthermon would be a digimon Mirrormon wouldn't know-- or one that if Kasumi were to look on her D-Power, the data would come up as "no data" due to Panthermon's origins. Being a Digimon dreamed up by Obito, basic data on him was impossible. Still, it was easy to assume he was a rookie and clearly a digimon of mystical origin. With everything calmed down, Obito sat himself upon one of the nearby boulders around the park so he could talk to Katsumi. Learning more about her, it seemsed she was a very experienced tamer. Panthermon and Mirrormon continued to inspect one another. The cat would occasionally bat a paw at the floating Digimon, his cat-like nature peeking to want to play with the floating object. Obito was wary with her words. "Yeah, I was there. I was there helping suppress the Greymon that attacked," he explained. In his hand, he twirled one of his digimon cards, practicing his CARDISTRY out of habit. "It's why we were here training. But um... I haven't seen you in the Busters? Are you alone ? How long have you been a tamer, Kasumi-san?" Obito asked, curious more about Kasumi.

Pathermon would find himself reflected into Mirrormon's stomach. He was, a mirror, after all. "Shadow is it, then! Hope we can become good friends!" Overly friendly, but that's how the dude was. Kitty would have to deal with it. Just as long as it didn't intend to hurt him, everything would be more or less alright. "Jus' make sure to not scratch the mirror, Kitty. I use that to fix up my hair every day." Kasumi piped as the digimon seemed to get overly playful. Guess he was a cat in the bottom, after all. The conversation turned a little more serious though. Despite the redhead not been there when the Greymon struck, he knew more or less what had happened there, and to be honest, wouldn't mind hearing additional details over it. "You were there, huh? Must've been a hell of a fight. Heard that the lizard was on an absolute rampage. I was busy with cptn' America when that happened. Pity that the fucker got away."Despite the topics changing, she couldn't but ponder on the incisive nature of the questions that came next. Not that she minded, however. "Yeah. I roll alone. To be honest, none of the gangs strike my fancy, and the tournament's fiasco just reinforced that opinion. How 'bout you?" After all, newer tamers tended to join one of the three gangs compared to old-timers. "Which one is it? Troopers or Busters? At least I can tell you ain't part of Nightmare. That much is obvious."For now, she'd omit telling how much time has passed since she met Mirrormon. But that was only because she wanted some answers first. Obito Kamigawa

Kasumi Iwamoto The fact that Kasumi kept calling Panthermon 'kitty' was starting to rile up Panthermon as he gave a growl at the name. Prideful as he was, Panthermon disliked being called a silly pet name. He was a mighty panther warrior of a digimon and even as a rookie had a strong, regal appearance. "Must you call me that? I'm a proud, intelligent fierce warrior. Hardly a kitty cat," Panthermon scoffed. "Do you prefer whiskers?" Obito teased, earning a dirty look from the cat. The friendly greeting from Mirrormon, however, was a refresthing change to Panthermon as he looked back to the Digimon and once again batted a paw playfully. "Likewise. You seem to be a smart Digimon for a rookie-- like me," he commented. Obito focused back to Kasumi as they talked. He didn't know by 'Captain America' but assumed she encountered a bad tamer as well from the sound of it. "Seems bad tamers are just as frequent as good ones, huh?" OBito asked. When she discussed about the factions, however, Obito felt somewhat awkward and upset. Not at her, but that her opinion of the Busters as a 'gang'-- something Obito wouldn't of thought of. "I see.. Um, well I am a member of the Busters. I only recently joined them after I met one of their members," he explained, "I see them more like a guild than a gang. Why do you dislike them? I for one find the people there very helpful. I wanted to join a group to help me grow stronger with Panthermon... besides I didn't do well alone since Panthermon and I almost got killed. Being alone is kind of sad to me." he said, indicating more to Obito's words than he shared. TO him, tamers should be together. To network and work together. It must be hell to keep a Digimon secret on your own, unless your digimon is easy to hide. While Panthermon could be invisible whenever he wanted, Obito still desired companionship among tamers oppose to being alone-- and it was obvious how he showed it.

Man, this Panthermon guy was really uptight, wasn't it? Getting all worked up over the smallest of things wasn't going to end well, like at all. She was about to work a half-decent reply to the cat's statement, but Obito joining in with the teasing prevented her from that. Now, she was actually snickering. "Gettin' worked up over names, are we? I'd just relax. Life's too short to angry about silly stuff."That was a bit... hypocritical, given how prone the redhead herself was to anger, but at the moment she didn't care. Mirrormon, on his own, seemed to be genuinely curious about Panthermon. "Smart? I consider myself to be a scholar. A wayfarer in the endless lane of knowledge. Are you interested in it too? I'd love to have someone to share my findings with!"Maybe that had been a misstep on kitty's side. Kasumi just shrugged; as long as Mirrormon became annoying with someone else, that was fine by her. Anyhow, going back to the conversation at hand... "Well, that's kinda to be expected, to be honest. Guess it's hella common to think 'bout using your mon for selfish reasons once you get it." A whole gang wouldn't exist for that very reason if that weren't the case, after all. "Busters, huh?" Well, at least she hadn't been mistaken regarding Obito bein' a member of a gang. "Don't get me wrong, most of the peeps I've known in there are more or less dece, but... I just couldn't take bein' ordered around by Tenno. Guy's an A-Grade asshole."She could understand his reasons, but for that very same reason, she preferred to be on her own, at least gangwise. "Not bein' in a gang doesn't mean you're alone, though. It jus' means that people will help you cos' they like you, not cos' they feel indebted to your guild or something. Same with enemies, I guess; you won't get on a beef with somebody cos you're from a rival gang or another stupid excuse. You gotta win the hate."The redhead also believed in cooperation between people, somewhat. But that had to be driven by willingness to work together. Not by allegiance owed to authority. "So, how's your time in the Busters been thus far? By the looks of it, they've been treatin' you well." Obito Kamigawa

Kasumi IwamotoPanthermon just gave a soft growl as the tamers teased him playfully, but the cat just sat back down and allowed it to roll off his back-- as best as he could. Pride-- such a horrible vice to deal with. While his pride only rubbed Kasumi the wrong way, at least the two digimon were getting along. Panthermon seemed to have a bit of respect for the scholarly Digimon and his mannerism. "Sure. I may not look like it, but I enjoy learning new things." Panthermon said to the friendly mirror-like creature. It was clear to Obito that Kasumi had misgivings regarding the factions-- Busters included. He listened carefully-- but when he heard Kasumi's opinion of Tenno being a Grade-A asshole... ... "Pffft--- AHAHAHAAHAA!!" Obito grabbed his stomach, rolling with laughter that his glasses fogged up with tears. The exact same frustration shared with her caused him to just go out laughing. Finally, as he got in control of himself, he lifted up his glasses to wipe his eyes. "Ah.. haha... Oh boy, on that I completely agree with you. He is such an ass... Hahaha..." Panthermon glanced at Obito's laughing fit but went back to Mirrormon, interested to learn more about his origin and what he learned in the digital world. Because Panthermon was a somewhat strange blank-slate of a mysterious digimon, while he knew things instinctively, he didn't know of other things that Mirrormon could possibly complete. Obito recovered and sat upright again upon the rock. "Well yes, he is a jerk-- but I guess the term I'd call it is 'tough love' for the Busters. I met him on the first day, and he didn't give me a warm welcome-- but it only motivated me to grow stronger as a tamer, so I could prove him wrong," Obito explained, "And well to be fair, I joined the Busters, but it doesn't mean I am going to obey every order he gives if I feel its wrong. I joined them, but I didn't pledge my soul to them. Panthermon I think feels the same way." Obito explained calmly. "Anyway, I didn't know any other tamers till I met some from the Busters. It seemed like a good place to learn how to be a tamer. Plus there are some fringe benefits." "Anyway, I don't do this to make enemies. I only resort to destroying Digimon and downloading data of enemies beyond reason," Obito explained, "So if Tenno tells me to kill a digimon without a good enough reason, I won't hesitate to say no to him. But so far, I seen no such situation arise. " The idea of such a situation made Obito nervous, but he believed the Busters were majority a group of good people. He met plenty. At her question how they treated him, he smiled. "They treated me very well. They have a place to help tamers get settled, for digimon to crash if they can't hide with their tamers homes," he explained, "We also can get discount for modify cards, and is a good way to network and form teams with other tamers. From what I heard about the other groups, the Busters are the closest to do with fighting for the right reasons and working together. " Though perhaps a rather naive responce, even as Obito heard it himself, he shook his head. "But I agree with you. I really don't care about the factions, in which I mean that it's an excuse of who to connect with or not. If they are decent tamers, I see no reason to not work with them." Obito might of opened up easier to Kasumi, but as a person who had yet to find a tamer close to his age, it was a refreshing change of pace. If he could, Kasumi would be a tamer he would like to work with, maybe even team up with if situation came to it.
