GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
A figure soars from rooftop to rooftop like an eagle in flight, his movements precise and fluid. His breathing is rhythmic yet hurried, he had been at this for a while now. Beads of sweat roll down skin of an olive complexion as the man vaults his way to another building, landing into a forward roll that leads perfectly into a running sprint.
The act of free-running was to retrain the mind to detect paths in places typical civilians would never think to employ, to see not obstacles, but opportunities. Not to mention the obvious athletic benefits it yielded with routine practice.
As a tall building enters his view, the man spots a fire escape attached to its side. Without a hint of fear, he leaps forward with a gravity-defying jump and succeeds in grabbing on to the metal rafters that acted as the stairwell's support structure. While initial contact made quite a bit of noise, his descent to ground level was both swift and silent.
Leather boots touch down with a soft clap of their heels, and the man in the fancy combat robes takes a moment to adjust the ornamental cape that hung draped over his left shoulder, slipping it over so that it concealed his left arm. He raises his beaked hood over his head so that the shadows it produced concealed his handsome features and chestnut colored ponytail, giving him the appearance of a cloaked killer.
This was deliberate, for the moment Nero Adesso turns the corner, he would stand tall and firm before the first person to cross him, glowering into their eyes with predatory intent.

The hooded brunette jumped as a sudden, loud clang resonated in what had so far been an otherwise silent night, his ice cream cone falling to the gravel floor with a splat.
"Goddamn it." He groaned in frustration, lamenting a 500 lost yen. His gaze slowly moved in the direction from which the sound came from, weary and aggravated.
Only silence followed the metallic ring, doing very little to soothe Toshiro. He dearly hoped the sound had been nothing he had to worry for.
Which of course, was obviously hoping for too much these days.
A hooded man walked around the corner, deliberately slow and threatening, staring Toshiro down in such a way that would likely send lesser men running.
...
What, did you think the former blonde didn't count? The moment he saw the man's apparel and his threatening countenance, Toshiro had spun on his heel and broken into a mad dash.
This was the first hunter Tenno had sent for him that actually looked the part!

GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
From beneath his beaked white hood, Nero receives a brief glimpse of tonight's target: a teenage boy with brown hair and baggy street clothes, no doubt worn for the purposes of staying incognito. That he quickly turns on his heels and breaks into a desperate sprint is enough incentive for the Italian-born ninja to confirm the necessity of his actions to come. Without a moment's delay, Nero Adesso lunges boldly into a trained dash after the delinquent boy, while simultaneously letting out a piercing whistle from his lips, staying hot on his quarry's tracks with the tenacity of a rabid bloodhound. Barreling from out of the foliage of a nearby tree planted by one of Tokyo's municipal crews comes Monitamon, just in the nick of time for him to intercept the teenager's escape, counting on the possibility that his sudden emergence would divert him into the nearest back alley, and ultimately, toward a dead end. Simple tactics, sure, but it was always an appropriate course to gauge his enemy's capabilities before unleashing his full potential.

Intercept was technically correct. The digimon had been entirely undetected by the young man until it was standing directly in his path.
A path the young man decided to stay in.
"Excuse me!"
The former blonde didn't seem to care for the rookie digimon, trying to barrel past him with shoulder first with a shout.
Considerable muscle pushed into the digimon's frame, likely more than the loose, larger than necessary clothes had suggested.
About the only good thing about his clothing habits, one could say.
Toshiro hoped the hunter wouldn't follow him into a public space. Shibuya-ku's was known for its rich night life. If he could make it to one of the main streets, he would be homefree.
Or so he hoped. His backpack swung with every harsh step he took, the Hercules Beetle inside still sound asleep even under the heavy shaking and all commotion going on around it.

Monitamon may have been small, but he was also a chubby little guy, so the teenager's brazen tackle had done little in the way of direct harm, but had nonetheless succeeded in pushing the Digimon out of his way so that he could continue fleeing, unimpeded. As he rolled backwards, a bright red exclamation mark flickered against the glass screen that was his face. Nero merely zooms past his poor apprentice, confident he would regroup himself accordingly, and keeps his eyes trained on the boy in front of him. He ducks and weaves between stunned onlookers, his movements fluid like water yet swift as lightning, completely unfazed by the quantity of people that were now acting as the boy's human fence posts. Ultimately, the throngs became too thick for him to simply barge his way through, prompting the Trooper to draw on more deceptive tricks as he reaches into a small leather pouch strapped to his waist and pulls out a small, nondescript matte black pellet. Without breaking stride, the European ninja hurls it forward and into the air as hard as his arm can muster. The sphere sails past a majority of the people standing in his way, including the fleeing child, landing just far enough to where as soon as he closed in, the pellet would explode in a cloud of choking, noxious pepper gas. Shielding himself within the crowd would no longer be an option, as the harsh sting of the pellet's chemical payload was powerful enough to send a majority of the people scrambling to get away, while some were unfortunate enough to be caught in the blast and were gifted with lungs full of hot pepper extract. If that didn't work, Nero wouldn't have worried. Moments like those were why he always carried spares.

The former blonde stopped running, watching as something sailed over him, landed on the far other side... and sent people running around screaming, a good lot of them coughing and choking on the ground.
Tenno was sending people like this after him, and had the gal to call him a terrorist? This was definitely far closer to terrorism than what he had done! The guy had dropped a friggin Tear gas bomb in a place packed with people.
The irony was such that the blonde's shoulders trembled slightly, a chuckle hitching in his throat as he slowly turned around to face his hunter. All around them, people ran in panic, leaving the two of them as the only calm figures in the apparent shitstorm.
"So. This is the Buster's so called justice, huh? I've gotta say." He paused, looking around them. He wondered if the people caught in the pepper gas would be fine. "Not impressed."
"I actually just intended to run away, you know? Lose you in the crowd. Hopefully never run into you again. But you just had to be stubborn. Look at all this innocent people, their night ruined because of some mulish douchebag." He said, sighing. "Now I have to beat your ass into the asphalt." He said, staring the other man down.
His hands dipped into his pocket, pulling out one of his cards as he yanked out the D-arc clipped to the inside pocket of his hoodie.
Slashing the card across the scanner quickly before pointing the gizmo in front of him, a howl filled the night as a nine-tailed fox suddenly materialized. The digimon, a Kyuubimon, stood between him and the hunter, glaring at the man.
He began approaching him, until he stood right besides the fox, eyes still narrowed dangerously.
Then he casually took a seat onto the ninetailed fox, the creature wrapping one of its tails around his waist immediately.
"Haha, just kidding. No amount of Belts in Judo and karate is helping me beat a guy like you, I can tell. See ya. Say hi to Tenno for me, won't cha?" The fox digimon suddenly turned sharply before taking a massive leap, nearly flying clear over the mass of noxious fumes, before landing on the other side and immediately breaking into a sprint down the streets.

GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
The experimental pellet had an unexpected effect; not only did the renegade teen stop in his tracks, he swiveled on his heels to face his pursuer, who merely strode forward in slow, patient strides, savoring the moment between him and his prey behind a mask of chilling calm. He spouts something inane. The Busters? He truly thought that Nero had been hired by that pompous fool, Masao Tenno, to exterminate him? Were it not for the ninja's inability to speak, he would have definitely corrected the boy on his assumptions by quickly revealing that this, right now, was not a demonstration of his warped views of justice. No. For the Italian-born man, it was something far more personal, something only he could relate to, the kind of feelings that skirt the realm of blue-and-orange morality, where any attempts to explain himself would merely alienate him further. To him, this was merely exercise. Nero stands poised and erect, fixated on his opponent's every move as he summoned forth that unmistakable apparatus of a Digivice and slid a card through it, conjuring forth a Kyubimon while uttering hollow threats before, quite predictably, taking to using the summoned Digimon as a mount so that he could make a quick getaway. Undeterred by this change of pace, the ninja in white makes full use of his free-running experience to discern the shortest possible path to his target, confident that no matter where he ran, he would find him just as quickly. His training allowed him to tune out the screams of the frightened masses, enabling him to formulate the perfect path. When all the pieces lined themselves up in his mind, Nero took in a breath of air and bolted for the nearest wall, vaulting upward so that he could grab onto the rafters, pull himself up, and skillfully climb his way higher until he reached a ventilation duct, which he then used as a platform to run straight up and onto the rooftops. Accompanied once more by Monitamon, Nero redoubled his efforts to track the boy down, grinning the moment he caught the distinctive glow of fox-fire in the distance before leaping from roof to roof the same way a child would use stepping stones to cross a pond. This boy would quickly find out in the span of five minutes that Nero Adesso was no Buster.

Toshiro didn't even know why he bothered being the better man with these busters. It was becoming clear that if he wanted to get rid of this guy, he would need to crack his skull open.
He hovered his hand over one of his inside pockets, wondering if he should just slash and let KoKabuterimon run wild.
Probably not. Knowing Tenno, he would find a way to blame it all on him, and frankly he really didn't want to deal with that kind of crap.
Actually, he would probably find a way to blame tonight's pepper bombing on him anyways. The thought alone filled the brunette with great irritation. He was beginning to consider just calling in Red; it didn't matter who this man was, nobody could beat that crazy woman in a fight.
But no, it was better if he didn't bring her along. He wanted to lose the hunter, not murder him.
Speaking of which, for a buster Hunter, he was being strangely... non preachy.
"Hmm." He leaned down, patting the Fox's fur to get its attention. He pointed at a rooftop. "Get up there. I got a few words for tall, dark and asshole."
The nine tailed's fox only response was to leap high in the air, clearing multiple stories in a single bound before landing smoothly onto one of the rooftops above, across from the other side of the street in which the hunter laid currently in hot pursue.
"Oi. You are unusually silent and non preachy for a buster." shouted Toshiro across the street, "Just to clear it out, am I dealing with a Buster asshole or just some random asshole?"

GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
Tonight was full of surprises, Nero would reflect to himself as he cleared a rather large gap this time around, all while casting wayward glances toward his fleeing opponent for an efficient way to close the distance. A great metal structure resembling a small radio tower soon came into view, and as soon as he arrived to this new destination, Nero was forced to stop his advance upon detecting a great ball of ghostly blue light soar upward from the streets, rebounding off Shibuya's signage and rafters until it landed squarely atop a department store building parallel to to the ninja. Monitamon, driven by a pang of instinct, opted to take a stealthier approach and broke away from his human master, employing an esoteric 'hand seal' to summon a vortex of loose leaves around his body, completely dissolving away into thin air while the foliage simply flies away on the wind. While under the effects of his signature Leaf Concealment art, Monitamon's first objective was to cross the cables that linked both sides of the street while the younger human and his summoned familiar's attentions were focused on Nero. Meanwhile, the Italian assassin merely takes a couple of steps toward the radio tower, his body illuminated by the rainbow sea of neon colors and the spotlight that silhouetted him just enough for only his target, his prey, to take in at his discretion. Nothing about his attire, including the flashy leather cape that hung from his left shoulder, seemed to particularly indicate he was affiliated with the more contemporary Shinjuku Busters, and even suggested a more antiquated, if not entirely obscure, way of thinking. From the way he dressed to his every action, they were evocative of something that not even Tenno's incredible wealth and influence could afford. Even from this distance, the thirty-year-old man's eyes were keen enough to stare directly into those of his teenage counterpart, yet another talent of Nero's the White Emperor has no access to. Riches cannot buy Nero's skills. But if he was not motivated by wealth, then was it a desire to do good? Usage of the gas pellet seemed to suggest that this was not the case. Nero's continued silence on all matters related to his existence only exacerbated the issue, if only for the one trying to get away from the man who seemingly refused to speak. This was the intended goal: to confuse and befuddle, to ensnare the senses in a web of deceit that cannot be escaped so easily. Everything about Nero Adesso, right down to the very scar above his lips, remained shrouded in total mystery, yet the only thing remotely transparent about this man was that he did not express the usual traits or characteristics found among the ranks of Tenno Industries' hired hands. And he was far too exotic in his general behavior, even for Nightmare's tastes. Leaf Concealment: 2 turns remaining. Stealth effect is active.

Well, it wasn't like he had been expecting an answer from the man anyways.
"No words? Well, that's unlikely from a Buster, so random hunter it is, then."
With that, Toshiro gave a kick to the side to his mount, causing it to take yet another massive leap across the street, landing at the very top of the Radio Tower without displacing so much as a single dot of rust. Toshiro whistled, not having expected the unnecessary display of finesse from the construct.
"Yer one cheeky fox, eh?" He grinned, patting the Kyuubimon. The creature responded by lighting up its tails ablaze, the tips of the flaming limbs suddenly pointing sharply at the hunter. The former blonde turned his gaze towards him.
"Look, Mr. Hunter. I dunno what I did to piss you off specifically, I was just eating ice cream. I know it's hypocritical to be raising the white flag while pointing flaming tails at you, but I really just want to get this entire thing done and over with. I'm already up to the neck with Tenno's incompetent goons, I really don't need a professional that actually knows what he's doing on my ass right now. So..."
He patted the Kyuubimon a few more times, before it began to dissolve into data, leaving the young man atop the radio station.
"Can you just tell me what you want or need? I hate all the exercise, to be frank." He really hoped trying to be a reasonable human being worked. It more often than not didn't with other tamers, but one could only hope.

GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
The teenager's assumption was entirely rhetorical, but it suited Nero all the same, as it was the first one to remotely hit the mark. Taking the initiative to close the space resting between each other himself, the brown-haired Tamer is ferried over by his nimble Kyuubimon servant, only to have the beast point all nine of its ember-tipped tails at the unarmed and seemingly defenseless assassin. From beneath the mystical effects of his invisibility art, Monitamon finds himself rapidly miffed by the other human's lack of predictability and, rather than turn himself around to crawl across the wires and back where he came from, the ninja Rookie simply allowed himself to drop to the streets below, accomplishing this with trademarked discretion. Back on the Shibuya rooftops, the fully trained warrior listens intently to the youngster's weariness in the grand scheme of these circumstances, yet remains more emotionally frigid and impartial than even the furthest reaches of the Siberian wilderness. His body stands motionless, ready for any trace of movement, sensitive to even the tiniest twitch. Whether the youth knew it or not, Nero had the virtue of patience on his side, and simply permitted him the chance to reveal himself for who he truly was: this was the infamous Tamer slandered by Masao Tenno's recent publicity stunt, the one who had supposedly threatened the Emperor himself with an explosive device of unknown size and destructive potential. Nero's clarity of focus and discipline allowed him to maintain his stance long enough until the Kyuubimon slowly begun reducing to simple binary data, a telltale sign that his scanned card was about to expire. And without anywhere to run, all his target had managed to accomplish was to turn himself into a sitting duck. When finally asked for his ultimate purpose in being here, the assassin merely lowered his gaze and tensed the muscles in his arms and hands, fully intent on showing this child exactly what he was looking for. Snikt! Two blades, as long as his forearms, literally pop out from beneath his custom leather gauntlets by means of a spring-action mechanism triggered with a flex of his wrist, the tips of his fingers caressing their silvered edges gingerly while he enters into that slow, haunting stride forward, boots clapping against the ground as the hands on a clock ticked in perfect rhythm, each step counting his arrival down until the boy's time, invariably, run out. The young man didn't seem to react much to the long blades that suddenly popped out the man's wrists, simply turning his head towards the night sky with an air of defeat.
"Just here to kill me, huh?" Well, that peace attempt had certainly backfired. He was beginning to see why countries at war didn't usually try it until the enemy was already essentially defeated.
"Well, that's that." He said somberly, reaching into his inside pocket. "I can't die yet. And running against you doesn't work. So..."
The light of the moon seemed to reflect off the surface of a seemingly featureless card, the only thing of note being its... Bright, blue hue.
"Guess you get to meet my partner." The youth slashed the card. A second of silence followed, his words hanging in the air ominously.
Then the his backpack all but exploded, a bright, shining figure shooting out into the air, rapidly growing before it came down to slam directly in front of Nero, the tiles beneath them cracking under the force.
The building trembled as it landed in a crouch, its figure still shining bright as it slowly began to rose, moving to tower over the assassin, its forbidding gaze meeting his.
"Sorry, Mr. Hunter."

Yet again, his prey refuses to employ common sense and surrender to a clearly superior enemy, all while retrieving another card from his pocket. A dagger-like glare trains itself on the featureless blue card as it gets pulled through the teenager's Digivice, unable to make out any other details apart from its magnetic strip. A moment of silence passes before a bright beam of light practically flies out from out of the renegade youth's backpack, slamming directly in front of the voiceless assassin as a great glowing form, far too luminescent for him to make out any features on its body. But, rather than make any sudden moves for the impudent teenager's throat, Nero remains eerily composed in the face of this newer, and far stronger enemy. The sudden handicap made no difference to him. Memories of his first assignments for the Web Troopers flash vividly in and out of Nero's thoughts, reminding him that creatures such as these were just as susceptible to feints and tricks as anything else, even with all that power at its command. Direct combat with the young Tamer's Digimon, however, might need to be approached with an added degree of caution. For a wanted fugitive, it was becoming more and more transparent that Masao Tenno had underestimated the intellect of this child. If anything, dealing with Tenno's goons would have been easier. For the first time tonight, Nero smiles at his chosen foe, overcome with genuine happiness at the fact that he was now being given the challenge he truly deserved. To show him his appreciation, his left-hand blade slips back into hiding with a flick of the wrist as he brings that same arm behind his back, fingers closing into a fist. He stares back into the creature's eyes fearlessly, and openly beckons for it to make the first attack — all while Monitamon takes to a nearby pocket of darkness behind a vent shaft the exact moment his Ninjutsu technique had fizzled out, desperately thinking of a way to capture either of Nero's enemies by surprise. 1: LEGENDARY RIDE: BEHEMOTH 2: IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOST 3: KNOCKOUT POWDER 4: HYPER STINK SPRAY 5: HYPER STINK SPRAY 6: POISON IVY W 7: POISON APPLE 8: LADY LUCK 9: META COCOON 10: GHOST NETWORK 11: METEOR WING 12: BIYOMON S 13: DARK RING A 14: GLUE SKIN A 15: GIGA BLASTER The stealth effects of Leaf Concealment have expired.

Silence reigned in the night as the young man's digimon rose to its feet, the moon light casting a soft glow over its star shaped silhouette. Dramatically, almost unnaturally so, its scarf flapped seemingly undaunted by either physics or the direction the winds were actually blowing as it suddenly pointed a finger towards the sky, before slowly lowering it towards the human.
"Why do you seek to harm my partner?" Boomed the mutant digimon in a grandiose baritone as it swiped its hand to the side. "Are you yet another rat, seeking to lord yourself over those weaker than you? A single look is enough to tell. Years of training and combat experience... GIVE ME TIME AND GIVE ME SPACE
No. Something is wrong about this Digimon. Its radiance carved through the darkness of the Shibuya night sky as though it were attempting to slice into the ninja himself, and the harder he attempted to resist the brightness, the greater its intensity seemingly became. Then, a thunderous voice echoes from behind the fading veil of light, revealing the presence of a star-shaped creature on whose body a tattered muffler swayed and billowed menacingly. It accuses Nero of cowardice and calls him a rat, pushing every last ounce of that self-righteous attitude forward as though he were throwing physical punches. Had he actually made a mistake? For the first time, Nero takes several steps backwards, using his shoulder cape to shield his eyes from the bombastic Digimon's blinding luminescence whilst he retracted the blade he intended to use as a weapon, now forced to alter his strategy towards a more defensive lean. Not even Monitamon — who wasn't remotely in the Starmon's presence — would be effective enough to protect his Tamer with such blistering white heat causing offense to their sense of sight. If the teenager's servant got one thing correct in that entire monologue, it was that Nero certainly had a propensity for biting off more than he could chew. Referring to his behavior as arrogant, on the other hand, was really just a matter of opinion, one the assassin most certainly didn't care about, even as he continued to inch himself away from the pair, step by step-- --right until he reached the edge of the building they occupied. When Nero's heel touched down against nothing, he ceased all reverse movement and maintained his posture against the building's ledge, dangling his foot over its side. Next, he reaches behind him and retrieves a D-Arc of his own, coupled with a single card, and glares fiercely at the Starmon and his Tamer the precise moment he swipes the piece of stock through its reader. Marked by the piercing cry of an eagle, Nero Adesso bends his knees and leaps. Screams erupt from the crowd below at the sight of a man in white robes literally tossing himself from the edge of a building in what appeared to be an act of deliberate suicide, but an explosion of flames roars out from behind the vent shaft several meters from Starmon moments later, only to dive straight down where the ninja had fallen. In a fantastic vortex of twisting fire, his body is snatched from the air by none other than Monitamon himself, who had sprouted a great pair of enormous flaming wings from his back as per the effects of Nero's scanned card, Meteor Wing and had remained intuitively aware of the Italian ninja's strategic withdrawal, finding no shame in his master's decision. As the duo descends to the ground, Monitamon drops Nero among the scattering throngs of people so that he can spiral back into the skies and act as a diversion for the other human and his partner. He might not be an efficient melee fighter, but the TV-headed ninja Rookie was persistent like his Tamer, and he would be damned to the furthest reaches of the Underworld if they were to simply flee this fight without leaving some kind of long-lasting impression--any kind--on the teenager and his positively glowing Starmon. 1: LEGENDARY RIDE: BEHEMOTH 2: IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOST 3: KNOCKOUT POWDER 4: HYPER STINK SPRAY 5: HYPER STINK SPRAY 6: POISON IVY W 7: POISON APPLE 8: LADY LUCK 9: META COCOON 10: GHOST NETWORK 11: METEOR WING 12: BIYOMON S 13: DARK RING A 14: GLUE SKIN A 15: GIGA BLASTER Meteor Wing activated.
