Kaida only got a glimpse of a familiar face in the battle, punching Charlie. Out of everything, somehow that got the most surprise out of her, and Jorgie coughed out a laugh. They stopped the moment a stray beam nearly went off in their faces, and Kaida leapt upward and attempted to grasp onto the neighboring building, yet it was too far and her jump too clumsy to make her jump have any sort of value. She managed a clumsy landing, throwing herself to the ground as a laser screamed over her head. Now she was in deep shit! " Got you!" A voice cried out, and the presence on her arm disappeared as Jorgie launched himself into the fray, right near the lasers! For a split second, Kaida glanced at the fist fight going on between two Tamers, then at Jorgie's suicidal charge. It was no contest, and she scrambled across the ground on all fours like a mad dog, trying to get to Jorgie at the same moment he tried to coil around the thing's legs. CDR2UwT8 |

For a moment, Kimura's heart pretty much stopped as his punch connected with the American champs face. That man was brandishing a loaded weapon this whole time, this entire fucking tournament. If it weren't for the rash bullheadedness that was second nature to him, someone would've been dead right now. Sometimes, you have to thank god for these kinds of miracles-- though this situation was no miracle as he'd only managed to piss off the man with the gun. With all that redirect in anger, it seemed he forgot about his weapon because something greater had been wounded. He didn't just punch that man in the face, he punched him straight in his pride & joy.
This was already personal, but it looked like they were about to get to know each other far better than ever. Didn't want it any other way, this was all about revenge, even if he had to dig two graves. Didn't matter what happened to his life, his fist just wiped off that asshole's smirk. Ironically, there were probably more than enough people who'd love to do the same once they've crossed Kimura. Now wasn't the time for one-liners or some cocky stride, these were those school days where he stayed late to perfect his game. Hands up, light on your toes, boys.
"Don't worry about those clowns, worry about me," These were the only words out of his mouth as he tightened up his guard. Fists clenched by the sides of his temples, arms up in a proper stance in comparison to Charlie's lax pose. There came that first straight, a little sloppy but a lot of power was behind it, trying to go for a quick knock-out. Kimura's first move was to check it with the shoulder roll, twisting his torso to the side as it connected with the top of his humerus, using the momentum to push his body to the side of the Digi-Modify champion. From here, the young man let loose with a right hook straight for his ribs to shake him up. Immediate follow up was a left jab aiming for the nose as his hands traded places from guarding to striking.

 He couldn't tell what was going on in that alley. There were a lot of people shouting, the sounds of explosions and beams of energy echoing out. He had no idea how deep in Kumomon was or if people were getting hurt. He'd have asked someone what was happening, but everyone was either running away or already inside the alley.
Except for one person, who addressed him by his name, even asking him what he was doing. "Toshiro?!" he exclaimed, turning to where he heard the voice. Was he really here? "Eagleheart is attacking everyone! I told Kuki that we had to make sure nobody else got hurt, so we have to stop him."
Another blast. The sound of several people (or digimon - he couldn't tell) crying out in pain. It was difficult to tell the voices apart, but he didn't think he heard Kuki's among them. But that didn't make it any less unsettling to hear.
And then Toshiro patted him on the head, before muttering something about mistakes being made. It sounded like he was walking into the alley...wait, what?! He was quick to protest, worried for the teen's safety. "Toshiro, wait! Don't go in there! It's too dangerous to go alone!"
A moment passed with no response. He heard the distinctive noise of a card being slashed, but he couldn't tell who it was coming from. Why did he have to go in there? He didn't seem like the kind of guy that would just run into this kind of situation. He didn't even have a digimon with him! Going in there was suicide!
Hideo's hands began to tremble. He had to do something, anything to help out. But all he had was his cards and his digivice. He took both out of his pockets, but he knew that he had no idea of knowing which cards were which. But rather than let indecisiveness halt him, he took a random card out of his deck and swiped it, praying that it'd to something to help them out.
...and then a light weight gently landed on his head, balancing itself. "Terriermon at your service!" it exclaimed, its energetic tone clashing with the gravity of the situation. The card he used was a Terriermon summon? He didn't know what it could do, but it had to be able to do something.
"Get in there and help everyone stop Eagleheart and his digimon!"
"That's kinda a vague order. I'll just go for the digimon everyone else is beating up on."
And with that, the weight was lifted, using Hideo's head as a high-point to leap up into the air. The fighting seemed to be in full swing, with some of the tamers even going after the Vemmon's tamer himself. Masuta couldn't help but respect their pragmatism. But right now, he was more angered by the Vemmon's words, disregarding them as a threat. Masuta couldn't help but feel insulted! He wanted to rip this damn thing apart and consume him. "We'll see about that! Card me!" Hisan'na nodded meekly and quickly swiped a card. Dark energy surrounded Masuta, and his one eye took on a feral light as he glared at the enemy.
"Let's see how you like this!" He snarled, charging to attack the Vemmon head on.
[Ravenous Hunger used. Masuta's Strength and Intelligence are increased by 8 for 3 turns]

The man caught the blade of the weapon on his bare hands. Holy shit.
"Canadians must be something else." He commented blankly as the man suddenly yanked onto his weapon, the younger blonde tightening his grip onto the Naginata as the other tried to wrench it off him and throw him into the ground.
The man certainly attempted to throw Toshiro around like a lightweight, but while the younger blonde didn't have much of a lung anymore, he only wasn't quite as squalid as his loose clothing suggested, and for whatever reason, the canadian was trying to throw him around with a single hand.
That reason became obvious a few seconds later, when Toshiro found himself staring down the hole of a barrel.
Was that a gun?
Toshiro could already feel sweat beginning to gather in the back of his neck. His heart began beating faster in his chest, pupils shrinking as he stared at death in the face.
Hideo's words before he joined the battle like a jackass flashed through his mind, along with a few dozen memories of his life.
It all came to an end a bit too quickly for his taste.
"I know what you are thinking. Should I shoot the japanese kid? But the answer may surprise y-!"
The bang of the gun rang in the air barely a feet from Shiro, and needless to say, his ears were ringing in the aftermath, barely able to hear anything as the canadian stumbled back from a hard punch from a newcomer.
Oh, and he was still alive. That was pretty great.
The Canadian's attitude seemed to change in an instant, and Toshiro didn't need to be able to hear to see the way the man's morphed into a mask of anger.
Then shit happened.
The man swiped a card, and a force field suddenly formed around him and the tamers that had come to assault him physically.
Shirou being one of those, technically.
"... Well shit." He didn't want to be within ten miles of a man with a loaded gun!
Not that he was paying him any attention, mind you. He and his savior (Nonexistent Gods bless his soul) were ducking it out in a rather raw display of machismo.
Well so long as they weren't paying attention to him. He produced a card from his pockets.
Slash!
He pointed his D-arc towards Vemmon, a bipedal fox of yellow and white fur materializing outside the forcefield in the general direction of the digimon. The young man silently pointed at the Vemmon, his ears still ringing. The Renamon didn't need any voiced orders.
It leapt high into the air, arms crossing sharply as shards of light seemed to materialize around it, before sailing down towards the Vemmon to cut it to pieces.

Now that their entrance had been made, Kasumi made sure to watch the situation with slightly more care. She identified some known faces, and grew slightly annoyed as soon as she saw the dude who had tried to kill Mirrormon fighting his doppelganger; she had a beef with him that she'd make sure to solve sooner or later. She also caught a glimpse of... none other than Yellow charging at him with what looked like a Naginata. That equal parts bold and dumb, but for now... she had other priorities. Like trying to prevent the foreign dude with the death ray do his thing, for example. The Wing Blade proved to be somewhat dubiously effective at damaging the enemy, so now they had to try something else. Observing her surroundings to see if she'd find anything relevant to the situation going on, she momentarily left the fight decisions to Mirrormon, who promptly attacked Charlie's Vemmon with a psychic wave.

"dodge! dodge!" the tsukaimon's shouts were lined with panic, shrieks soon taking leave of its mouth as foul bits of energy rushed toward both tamer and digimon alike. rosaline released a sharp breath, forcing herself to move and dance about so to sloppily dodge the potent attack. thankfully, she could manage such movements despite the skirt, long-sleeved top, and wedges that served as her attire. "berry?" her attention would shift toward the digimon, the woman's facial features revealing her worry. "i - i'm fine. close. was very close," it replied, maintaining a hover. rosaline moved to search for both her digivice and her card collection with shaky hands, the items having been tucked away within the confines of her purse. the young woman selected one card at random, glancing at it for only a moment before making use of it. The last thing Louise wanted to see in Tokyo was the Buster Tower, and so it was the first place she was going to visit. With her eyes glued to a map, Louise rounded a corner to a sight no one'd expected.
She squinted, rubbed her eyes. Squinted again.
"Say, Dolph. Isn't that the guy from the America nationals? Y'know, what's his name." Louise pointed to the hulking figure of Charlie, currently locked in battle with some unimpressive and unremarkable looking Japanese fellow.
"Does rather look like Charlie."
"Yeah, that's the guy. He won against... what's his face. Second place," Louise said.
Dolph didn't bother trying to remember. Whoever was second place wasn't on his mind. He surveyed the area and took quick stock of the situation.
There was the American champion locked in manly fisticuffs with someone else. Around them were a variety of tamers, launching attacks against Vemmon who, for all intents and purposes, was defending itself quite well.
Either they had stumbled on Charlie being as American as he could be and aggravating one Japanese fellow too many, or this was some concerted effort to beat the American for some other reason.
"Looks like a real fight, innit?" Louise said. "Think they're training?"
"... They're obviously fighting for real," Dolph said. "Doesn't look like it's a concerted effort. The Japanese side's really ragtag. He might've done something to them."
Louise peered. "Now that you say so. Huh, that might be the case. Go figure."
"I figure we should join the fight."
"Wait, what? Oh no no no, we're not joining fights, Dolph." Louise crossed her arms and shook her head. "It's really none of our business, and─"
"I'd like to."
"How're we even gonna decide what side to join, huh? We can't just─"
"Oh, that's easy," Dolph said. "Whichever side's beating that American's smug face in."
He lifted a hand, and a beam of light shot toward Vemmon. Louise groaned, then buried her face in the palm of her hand.
"Dolph, I swear. Seriously."

Dammit - too fast. It's been too damn long since I've done this. Man, I feel alive, but he's fast - faster than me. Gotta think, no, gotta act.Charlie's thoughts raced as he nearly dodged a shot to his nose, just having took another punch to the ribs. It was no secret he was mighty rusty, having relied on his cards and Digimon for so long, it had truly been ages since he had to personal get physical. But this was about pride, honor, and everything else - he wouldn't lose at anything - especially not to a Japanese man. No words, just fists. The champion went for another straight jab at his opponents chest, hoping to knock the wind out of him so he could follow up with a finisher. 3qNxXQq9 "Argh...I won't go down this easily." The Vemmon spoke weakly, now showing visible battle damage from the array of attacks launched against him. The rookie wasn't done yet, however, proving it was definitely more experienced than what was seen as average. Picking himself up, he readied another Eradication Laser attack, hoping to take down at least three more of his enemies. Only a minute left now.
• Charlie Eagleheart himself cannot be damaged by ranged attacks at this time, and is currently locked in combat with Kimura Kyōryoku. Kimura Kyōryoku's rolls are now different. Charlie will roll in the middle of his post, and Kimura will have to roll against it. The winner will deal one point of damage to the other. Both Charlie and Kimura have three points of life before the fist fight is over. If Kimura wins, he will inflict 1000 points of damage to Charlie's HP. If Charlie wins, Kimura will be eliminated. • The lethal numbers have changed for this turn. |

 So this was what it was like to get in a fight against another digimon. This guy seemed pretty tough, and her attacks seemed to be doing very little. But strike after strike, attack after attack, it looked like they were doing a number on this digimon, and Eagleheart was pre-occupied with a fistfight against one of the Nightmare members, so he couldn't swipe any cards.
It was a very chaotic situation, with attacks flying left and right, a few of which she had to dodge herself to avoid being caught in the crossfire, including an attack coming from some Terriermon flying around. And she couldn't help but worry about that massive laser charging up ahead of them all. She saw what that thing could do during the tournament, and it was going to tear them apart once it fired. They had to find a way to stop it, or to stop Eagleheart before it even mattered.
Good thing Hideo was outside of the alley. If he was anywhere near this battlefield, he'd definitely get himself hurt. Keeping him outside of it all was the best choice she made here.
She kept up her attacks against the Vemmon, going for another strike against the purple menace.

Thus far, Mirrormon's strategy of remaining at long range had been somewhat effective at both dishing and evading damage. Kasumi herself could see that the last attack he had performed had brought a good amount of pain to the Vemmon, even if the digimon seemed to be far from done. That Cyber Laser had been way more erratic than the attack before it, the redhead not seeing any new tamers or digimons falling to it. Maybe it was that predictable? Or maybe the people who had fallen weren't prepared? It didn't matter, why she was even thinking about this? What mattered at the moment was the Charlie had two of the three batteries of his Hyper Blaster Cannon full, and that meant she had to search to for some kind of cover or they were up for... some bad times. Mirrormon repeated the same attack, given that the last time had proven effective, just for him to be picked up right afterward by his tamer in order to seek refuge behind the first thing they saw. Or temporarily exit that section of the alley, if that was even possible.
Mirrormon's using a basic attack on Vemmon, and then the duo is making a conscious effort to take cover from the Hyper Blaster Cannon. 4 Slashes left. 1. Clean Up

Toshiro found himself in a moment of surprising calm in the shit storm that had formed within the alley. Between all the digimon and tamers occupying Vemmon and the fist fight between Eagleheart and the dude that saved him, not to mention being more or less safe within Charlie's barrier...
Well, he could pretty much just stand there and watch. And think.
Eagleheart's Special Beam cannon wannabe thing had 2 out of 3 charges already, and from what he remembered from the tournament, it was bad times all around if it actually manage to shoot.
With this in mind, the young man cautiously reached towards the barrier, finding it to not be harmful. Eagleheart's words seem to have been accurate. Ranged attacks, huh?
He steered away from the chaos that was the Vemmon fighting everyone, watching as his Renamon summon rushed towards the alien like digimon with her arms crossed, shards of light forming around her before shooting towards it at high speed.
Enough of that. He needed to round around the alleyway, if possible. No point in standing right in front of the cannon's blast.

Jorgie still squeezed valiantly around his enemy's leg, letting out a long hiss as he was jostled around and came dangerously close to being blasted by the various attacks being thrown his way. The haze of battle filled his mind with nothing but the desire to win and kill, paying no heed to even Kaida crawling towards him, he could see the data through the cracks, smell it even...he had to get it! He had to get stronger. Meanwhile, Kaida instinctively pressed up against the wall, sweat glistening on her face as she got far too close to the murderous Digimon. Another blast drove her further back and she tripped backward, flinging herself back to a relative safety of distance. " Jorgie! Shit! Shit! Fine!" She snarled and raised her arm, card in hand, and swiped. " Jorgie! Fuck him up!" At the same moment, Jorgie's hissing cut off, and he coughed and heaved frantically before a burst of red was spouted from his jaws to scald the Vemmon. Kaida curled as tightly as she could against the wall, attempting to avoid attacks by being inconspicuous, and generally awaiting the hell that was about to happen. Feeling his fist make contact with the side of the American's body was more than enough to get him going. Once that first punch connected, there was little reason for him to back off. Even when the man threw his next punch, moving just enough to have him miss its intended target, his solar-plexus. Why did he think that wouldn't be an obvious plan, trying to get him winded to have him back off? Only opened up the idea there was an advantage he had and one in which he could make use of. Within that second, his plan was already formulated and in action.
The knuckles beating into his chest stung, but it didn't stop him from continuing his own volley of punches. He had strength, not speed, probably not stamina either. Starting off with a right cross towards the face and a left to follow it, throwing them quickly as a distraction to his main strategy. That's when he went for another set of hooks to the body, a second right to the rib cage before a left to his kidney, usually an illegal move. There was no referee here, so this kidney punch could only serve to aggravate his opponent even more. Which is what he was really setting out to do-- piss him off.
Once he got him angry enough, he figured the boxing stance would disappear and he'd try to go for something stronger. That's when he'd get him, right in his jaw, hopefully strong enough to demoralize him. If Kimura could manage to bring down his spirits through physical combat, that was more than good enough. He's seen enough people pour their souls into what they wanted, only to receive it because of their dedication to it. Exactly the way he did it, in fact, even more reason to believe this would drive down his motivation. Can't fight if you aren't motivated to, only making it easier to land further strong hits against his opponent and leave him flat on his back.
