He was alive.
Laying on the asphalt of the alleyway, having leapt to the ground and covered his head the moment it looked like the canon was about to blast him, the human had prayed his 'Lady Luck' Card would do something, anything to save him.
Apparently, it had.
Now, how the fuck-
"Yo. You still alive, dumbass?"
The blonde blinked at the asphalt, slowly moving his head to look up. The first thing he saw were a pair of large forefeet, followed by the broad torso of...
Oh. So he had been coming here, after all.
And he looked worse for the wear than he ever had before.
"You better be. That sucked." Complained the bug as he toppled onto his ass, clearly tired after having blocked... part of the blast for his tamer. The blonde's efforts to get closer to Eagleheart had helped. Somewhat.
"How did you-"
"I just arrived. Saw the cannon about to blast your scrawny ass. Dropped off the rooftop." Resumed the bug tiredly.
"O- Oh..." Unfortunately, it didn't seem like they were done.
After getting his ass soundly beaten for like, an entire boxing round with the nightmare dude, Eagleheart had the gal to gloat after just barely surviving a fist fight with a man that looked to be 20 years his junior?
"Yeah, Go back to Canada." Grumbled the blonde as he slowly picked himself up, watching as the westerner left the alleyway on his digimon partner's convenient... jetpack.
He had half the mind to see if KoKabuterimon had enough energy to shoot the Berenjena at him. Hell, he was willing to try and see if he could shoot the blasted thing himself.
Unfortunately, Chuck couldn't just let them lick at their wounds in peace. His farewell present was as shitty as his attitude. Who the heck carried bombs on his person?
It looked extremely small, but after everything they had gone through with the damn Canadian, the blonde tamer wasn't all that willing to underestimate how likely it was to blow them all to kingdom come.
They needed to get that thing away from people. If it blew in the small alleyway, who knew what it would do to the buildings that formed said alleyway.
He reached into his pocket, drawing a single card quickly and slashing. A nine tailed fox digimon popped into existence besides Toshiro, who pointed at the bomb.
He began typing furiously onto his phone as he spoke.
"Get that to the Buster Tower." The Kyuubimon was moving the moment the words left his mouth.
"... Well with any luck, this won't bite me on the ass." he mumbled as he sent the text, turning to Kokabuterimon. "Get up. We aren't staying to see how this goes."
The beetle grunted, forcing himself to stand on trembling, uneasy forefeet. He found himself supported by the blonde human.
"I can't drag your heavy ass back home, so don't you dare fall unconscious on me."
"Gee KoKabuterimon, I'm so thankful you saved my ass from that cannon back there. Would that be so hard, asshole?"
"Quite so. Shut up and walk, fatty."
"Jerk."
As they were leaving the scene, however, something at the corner of his sight caught Toshiro's attention, the blonde finding himself staring at one strange symbol.
What in the world was this?
Had it been done by Eagleheart? What was it supposed to mean? It reminded him just barely of the logos used by gangs to identify each other... But that couldn't be. There were only 3 gangs in Tokyo.
"Is that, painted in blood?" mumbled KoKabuterimon at his side, staring tiredly at the symbol. "Well holy... that's pretty hardcore for you humans."
Toshiro couldn't help the bad feeling in his gut as he stared at the symbol, gulping as he reached for his phone and took a picture of it.
Hopefully someone on ENCRTYPE would know what it was.

Fighting back from the feeling of failure only managed to lead him further down that path. This time, in reaction to the strong feeling of running away, he let his emotions take path in his actions. There was no benefit to doing this, only a further wound to his pride. Was that what was needed? Did he deserve this for trying to do the right thing with his life? Kimura couldn't really understand it in that moment, it felt like his ability to think and even remain conscious was slowly being taken from him. Everything felt numb, whether that was from the shock of the blast or a different kind of chemical phenomenon was yet to be thought of.
He banked on his lucky strike at the beginning of this fight, yet it didn't make as quite a surprise this time. In fact, it wasn't met with a physical response from its intended receiver, it merely passed by him instead. Here the young man was, diving into the ground without what looked like a second thought. Almost as though it were assured to have worked, driving him to panic for a second and tuck his chin to his chest. A bit more momentum from his legs caused his shoulders to angle to the ground differently, allowing Kimura to roll against the paved asphalt. Once he started, it continued, rolling into a wall before he could feel his body again.
Nothing really hurt at that moment, at least not physically, but there was this pounding in his head. This odd sensation that he couldn't quite call painful but not entirely comforting at the same time. It clouded his perception of things, as if nothing had been said to him earlier, almost disassociating with the situation entirely. What just happened? Were did his thoughts go? Something had just happened, there was anger, there was fear, there was so much racing through him. Now it was changed to a single idea, a single repeating phrase of incomprehensible importance.
Soon. It was a simple word, looping infinitely, without any idea of how it got into his mind. How did it become more important than what had already been going on? It was getting louder and louder, continuing to take up more space in his head than needed. It started out as a whisper, but was making its way to being your average speaking voice. It was the only other idea running alongside his own consciousness, unable to stop it. It didn't feel odd at all, just awkward, unsure of why it was there.
After a decent period of time, the young man decided to push himself up to his feet, a soreness running through his body as he did so. His body felt heavy, as if it were meant to be put down against the ground. Why did that voice keep getting louder, even still, beginning to crescendo to a series of yells. Now, the pain was aggravating, making it harder to keep to his feet. What the fuck was going on? Why did this sensation run through his body, what was even the cause of it. Only began to drive him mad, taking a deeper breath to see if he needed to get more oxygen to his brain.
There was nothing that changed as he continued to stand, propped up against the wall with his shoulder, trying to nurse this condition. He needed to regain more control of himself, needed to feel something that would wake him up. It was like a dream, how he remained so unaware to his surroundings, to the departure of his foe and others who were leaving the scene. Where was everyone going? Why wasn't he moving? What was this dream and when did it start?
Balling his right hand up into a fist, he strained to move the dominant hand back towards the shoulder. Weakly, it pushes back forward and meets with the wall. A second of silence. The word came back with the same ferocity it left with, starting to reach further heights, damaging his psyche more. Bringing his hand back again, the young man worked more quickly than before, yet again slamming his knuckles into the wall. This time, there was some power behind it, enough of a reaction to regain him his time to think. His mind remained free for a moment.
All around him, people were fleeing, someone having said something about a bomb and nightmare squad members taking care of their own. Where was that asshole? How the fuck could he let him get away? What was the purpose and when would he find out? Soon. The word pervaded his mind yet again, this time more depraved as it only started to scream at him. Once more did it take this in your face style with its message, the vague feeling of importance. What was fucking soon!? Kimura's energy was already returning to him, even with this pounding in his skull that only repeated itself.
Screaming just like before, he slammed his fist into the wall again, looking up to see just what he was resting on. A wall with a sign on it, something that didn't just seem like a coincidence. What the fuck was this? What the fuck was going on?

❧
she trembled, her eyes widening upon the sight of the now collapsed tsukaimon. it had crumpled rather dramatically, managing the difficult task of maintaining its present form as it struggled to take in breath and remain conscious. its wings lay limp as it crawled upon its rounded belly, attempting to pull itself up and toward its startled companion.
"we... run. rosa - ro-sa," it gasped.
the woman forced herself to move, reaching for her digimon and pulling it into her arms. she pressed its face against her bosom - a series of gasps escaping her as she did so. rosaline glanced about, quickly realizing that everyone was beginning to scatter. some had collapsed - struggling to properly respond to the presence of a bomb. they had not succeeded, and this loss stung so terribly. all present had failed to avenge their deceased comrade - comrades.
"..."
rosa felt her stomach rumble. it twisted and churned and threatened to rid her of its contents right then and there.
'we have to go. we have to go now.'
the young woman's gaze would then shift toward kimura, the unfamiliar sight of him suffering from a moment of weakness leaving her worried and sick at heart. it was something that she did not wish to bear witness to - and so she would go about approaching him, certain of her desire to ensure he was not lost to nightmare as well. she failed to notice the bloodied mark scrawled upon the wall, instead focusing on the sight of the young male.
"we have to go," she hissed, echoing her previously held thoughts. "we have to."
the tamer would move to capture his wrist, gathering up whatever strength she had to urge him to safety.

Regain 2 card swipes for the thread. BS134 - Berenjena W The user equips Beelzemon's ferocious shotgun. It only possesses two rounds, after the use of which it will immediately dissipate, but each shell deals heavy Dark damage. The resultant explosion deals Dark damage to adjacent targets. Digimon only. "Yo, you up yet?"
Nudging. Being awoken by someone else, wasn't something she had to deal with, since she was a kid.
Even during exhausted nights where her parents had to drive her back to her apartment in Shibuya-Ku, she always managed to wake up when they arrived.
Had always been the one to wake before her Digimon partner, as if she had been raising a child.
It was a strange feeling, like having a hand suddenly emerged in iced cold water, and caused her to jolt awake.
She felt exhausted, with the sensation of pain in her body, as if she had winded up taking a heavy fall.
The memories had came back the moment her eyes fell upon the small and pale green Digimon, resting in a member from the Nightmare faction's arms.
That single horn, and the sides of its teeth, paired up with its rather sleepy expression, was unmistakable.
Now that her head was getting clearer, she realized her eyes were rather dry. How much had she been crying, seeing her Terriermon go out to fight, only to be knocked back? Things had only gotten worse after.
To the point where even she had been knocked out. This form it was in now, was clearly something of a sign.
They shouldn't have gotten involved in something like this. Not when her Digimon lacked strength.
She had passed out numerous times, from what she could remember, and this Nightmare hadn't been the only one who had been watching over them.
"Good. Here's yo girl. Both of y'all should be running from here."
An answer wasn't something the guy was willing to wait for, as he hurriedly leaned over to hand her Tara.
She could see trickles of sweat running down his forehead, and clinging to his back, a bug Digimon.
Accepting her Digimon, the guy running off had been the least of her concerns, as her attention was focused on this new form of her partner. It was cute, of course.
Never would she ever view it as anything but. Though it was clear this was regression from the progress they had.
An issue that would only be fixed from gathering data. Enough to bring it back to what she knew it as.
Pulling herself up with some effort, she could feel a touch of pain on certain parts of her body.
There likely lied something worst than what she was already feeling, though what the Nightmare had said came to her mind, as she looked around the field.
With what attacks must have been launched here, she wasn't surprised to see all the damage around.
People were leaving the area, as suggested by the Nightmare, though she hadn't the slightest clue why.
They had moved much farther away then they had been, and she silently thanked everyone who helped them.
The loss of a life like theirs, wouldn't have been found until it was too late. Might have even been buried.
Carefully reaching into her pockets, where she just as thankfully found everything was still here, she swiped a single card through the device in her hand.
"Board Reset!"
The tip of the Digimon's horn had glowed white, before it shot off a beam of light into the skies above them.
It was a card she always kept around with her, knowing what these creatures were capable of doing.
She wished it was possible for human technology to pull off the same thing, knowing what it was capable of.
But all of the amazement that came from her normally using it, just wasn't something that was there.
Hearing her Digimon's voice again, different pitch or not, she found to be more of a relief than her own actions. A feeling she took with her, as they left the area.
This place would be nothing but bad memories for awhile.
BS034 - Board Reset Resets the battlefield to what it was before the beginning of the fight, repairing structural damage and instantly removing any weather or terrain effects active.

That had been one heck of a ride. Both Kasumi and Mirrormon watched dumbfounded how both Charlie and the Vemmon escaped from the scene, and even had the gall to say they were the ones that had failed. In all honesty, he could do the jetpack trick at any time and just had decided to do so because things looked grim to him. "Fuckin' coward." She huffed under her breath as she watched the aftermath. Next time he wouldn't be so lucky, though. Next time he wouldn't get away. The redhead couldn't care less about the supposed bomb that had been set. Ten minutes was a lot of time, and unless that thing was a genuine blockbuster, she was confident on her chances of getting the hell outta dodge before it finally exploded. Well, at least until he recognized Yellow summoning a Kyuubimon and ordering it to carry it to Busters' Tower. Eh, might as well help a bit. She slashed a card, intending to make the fox's job easier. Then, she approached the blonde, who seemingly had found his partner. "That was def one hell of a tough customer, wasn't it?" She said a little nonchalantly; Kasumi had seen Yellow fighting against Charlie, but she probably hadn't been recognized by him for obvious reasons. Nevermind the KoKabuterimon, however. Her attention quickly went right towards the star with the eye, seemingly written with... blood. "Okay, that's a new one." Taking a quick photo of it, she decided she'd find about it later, even if she had some wild guesses about it. "First thing that comes to mind is that cptn' America wasn't alone when he pulled out this load of bullshit."She shrugged. This was probably the beginning of something big, but the redhead was too tired to think about it. "Maybe a Canadian team? Justice League or somethin'. Or maybe just hardcore Nightmares."Not willing to say much else, she turned back and began to head home, Mirrormon safely tucked in her arms. Guy was completely exhausted, but he had done a hell of a good work; he deserved some rest.

Post by Haru Toriya on Oct 4, 2017 2:20:56 GMT
Haru felt a burning pain in her chest, she coughing slightly. A few Nightmare grunts had previously dragged her and her partner away from the battle after very unceremoniously getting wiped out as soon as the battle started, she only having just now started to enter back into the world of conciousness. That burning sensation she felt? It was shame. Well, so much for playing hero she thought to herself. Despite they being so easily trashed, fortunately everyone else seemed to manage to hold up to Charlie Eagleheart's vicious onslaught. Defeat him? No... but at least no one else died, right? Just their egos. Still, they weren't completely out of the clear. Charlie "All-American Sociopath" Eagleheart had setup a bomb, surely to cause a bit more chaos before leaving. That man was horrifying to the goggle-wearing girl... he REALLY did not care if regular people got caught up in this mess it seemed if he was willing to commit straight up terrorism! She'd have began freaking out if she had not saw a Kyubimon run away from the scene with the bomb in tow. It's commander? Well... a relatively familiar sight. Tawna had since degenerated down into a Nyaromon, unconciously asleep. The girl scooped the In-Training level Digimon before quickly heading towards Toshiro as he was heading off, a bit relieved that he seemed okay. "Oh gosh, I'm glad you are okay... In fact, I'm glad everyone is! That's smart to take that thing away from here!" She'd commend the blonde's clever way of handling the situation. There was the question of WHERE he took it... but that wasn't probably too important. Still, she couldn't spend too much time here now. Today was perhaps a bit too... much for just one day. Nearly dying and being threatened with being exploded can kinda take the wind out of a girl. She had to head back home before her folks got home. Last thing she needed to do was try to explain where she got all these bruises. Without taking too much more time, she ran out of the scene; unconcious Tawna in-hands.
